"Ash?" A voice called out, before getting louder. "Ash, wake up!"

The young man is awakened from his slumber in his airplane seat by the shaking of the honey-blonde woman sitting on the left side of him. He slowly opens his eyes and stretches his arms as he becomes fully awake. He first turns to see a sleeping Lucario, to his right and looks to see a sleeping Pikachu on his lap. He smiles brightly at them, before turning to look at the woman who woke him up.

"Oh, hey Serena," The young man said to his traveling companion. "Good morning."

"Morning, sleepyhead," Serena responded as she chuckles. "I woke you up because the plane is about to land."

Serena's words suddenly changed Ash's facial expression from drowsiness to restless, as he forms a big smile on his face. Then, he hears an announcement from the plane's PA. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Alolan region. We're landing at Melemele Island International Airport. Local time is 7:30 a.m. and the temperature is 80℉."

As the announcements were going on, Lucario and Pikachu slowly wake up from their sleep. They both yawn and stretch before they slowly open their eyes. Ash and Serena smile at the Pokemon waking up. Serena takes a peek at the island they are landing and smiles at the sights of the beautiful beaches, ocean, cities, and landscapes from above. Ash looks at his girlfriend with a bright smile. This is a trip he had been planning on taking with Serena for a while ever since he won the Pokemon Masters Tournament. He explained to her that at some point, during his five-year training mission, that he visited the islands, caught some Pokemon, and made some new friends in the Alola region. His friends only knew him through his secret alias, Aaron; however, they are two people that he lived with, during his time in Alola, who exactly knew his secret before it was revealed during the finals of the tournament.

His thoughts start replaying the day that he had to leave Alola to compete in the Wild Card Tournament, so he could compete in the Master Tournament. He remembers it like it was yesterday.

"All passengers flying to the Kanto region, please proceed to gate B. We will begin boarding shortly." A man on the intercom said to the people of the airport.

The masked trainer, with his Pikachu and Lucario, heard the announcement as they turned to face the people who he had stayed with for a year. The first man is Professor Kukui, a young man with a muscular physique, who has dark eyes, black hair, a black man bun, and a goatee. He was wearing a white hat with a rainbow decoration in the front, glasses with a teal frame, a white lab coat with rolled-up sleeves, grey baggy pants with a teal stripe and white drawstrings, teal shoes with white outlines, and a silver ring on his finger.

Standing next to Kukui is his wife, Professor Burnet. She has tan skin, medium-short white spiky hair pointing backward, and yellow eyes. She was wearing a grey vest and black stirrup pants, wearing green flat shoes and a green headband at the back of her head and around her neck, a silver necklace, with her wedding ring hanging, and a black jacket with orange ends tied to her waist

The professors frowned when they heard the intercom, as both were dreading the fact that the masked trainer had to finally go. They knew he had his mission to defeat Giovanni and reunite with Serena, but they wished the trainer, who was like a son to them, could stay longer. Ash, Pikachu, and Lucario also share their sadness as the five of them walk all the way to the front of the hall leading to the plane.

"That's the plane to Kanto. Don't mistake it," Kukui said.

Ash turned to the professor and smiled while saying, "I won't."

The two adults smile, satisfied with his response. All of the smiling fades away, however, when Ash looks at Kukui and Burnet.

"Professor...?" The masked trainer asked.

"What?" Kukui responded.

Ash takes a moment to think of the right words before he bows and says, "Please take good care of Rowlet and the others."

"Don't worry. They're our family," Kuki answered with a smile on his face.

"Kukui's going to bring them to the Pokemon School too," Professor Burnet added on to Kukui's answer.

Ash smiled and said, "That'll be great. Thanks."

The three humans, Pikachu, and Lucario were quiet again for a moment, unsure of what to say next.

"Professor Kukui...Professor Burnet...I'm off," Ash declares reluctantly.

The two professors give sad looks, with tears starting to appear from the edge of Professor Burnet's eyes.

"H-have a nice trip," She said as she started to cry.

"Good luck, Ash. Give it your all," Kukui said to the masked trainer with a whisper, making sure no one around could hear them.,

Ash smiled at his former teacher and said, "Yeah, I will,"

"Be sure to visit us with Serena," Burnet said, fighting back her tears. "We'll want to meet her once your mission is over."

"I promise, Professor Burnet, I will. You can count on it." Ash proclaimed with a soft smile.

"Never forget, Burnet and I will always be here to give you a helping hand. No matter where you go, or whatever you're doing, we'll be there for you," Professor Kukui added to his statement.

"Kukui's right. We'll never forget you, Ash," Burnet says in a soft voice, as she starts wiping tears from her eyes.

Ash only has a moment to smile before Burnet walks over to hug him. Ash smiles softly while Kukui joins in to hug him together with his wife. The raven-haired boy closes his eyes and thinks about all the wonderful things he's experienced with the two Pokemon Professors. Even though he will miss all of his other friends in Alola, he accepts that he will miss staying with the married couple who may as well have been another father and mother to him.

"Thank you," he says quietly.

"Pikachu," Pikachu says with its face muffled by Professor Burnet's embrace, while Lucario softly growls in satisfaction in the embrace.

For several seconds, the couple keeps hugging Ash, Pikachu, and Lucario until Professor Kukui pats both Ash and his wife before breaking the hug.

"Alright, off you go," he declares.

Ash smiles and nods, saying, "Yeah," once more, before he turns around and gets on the plane with Pikachu and Lucario.

Ash is snapped out of his thoughts just as the flight attendant finished with their announcements."On behalf of Charizard Airlines and the entire crew, I'd like to thank you for joining us on this trip and we are looking forward to seeing you onboard again in the near future. Have a nice day!" The flight attendant said as the plane landed on the ground.

During the landing process, Ash feels a gentle touch on the back of his hand and turns to see Serena smiling. He smiled back, comforted by her support as he was a bit nervous to see Kukui and Burnet. He wanted to visit them as soon as possible, but Kukui informed him that Burnet was pregnant and would appreciate it if he waited to visit them when the baby was born.

A few days earlier, he received a call from Kukui informing him that the baby was born and he would like for him and Serena to come to visit them. Both he and Serena thought it was a good idea to visit Alola since Serena has never been there before. Ash knew Serena was going to love Alola, especially the beaches, the shops, the festivals, all the friends he had made both people and Pokemon alike. He thinks she will have a great time during their visit there.

After getting off the plane and grabbing their luggage, Ash and Serena exit out of the airport in their summer outfits. Ash is wearing a red, yellow and black striped polo tee shirt and long brown Bermudas. He's also wearing canvas loafers. His hat was red with a white Poké Ball symbol on it. Serena, meanwhile, is sporting a stylish pink fedora, a white, short sleeve top of pink endings, a pink skirt, and her precious blue ribbon tied around her waist. They walked down the street for a couple of seconds before they heard the sound of a nearby convertible red jeep, the person in the driver seat Ash, Pikachu and Lucario knew too well.

"Ash!" The man shouts out to the young man.

"Pika!" Pikachu happily chirps from Ash's shoulder.

"Professor Kukui!" Ash says with a big smile on his face as he dashes over to meet his Alolan father figure. Serena, at first, was a bit worried when he ran off like that; but once she saw Kukui, she knew that it was alright. Lucario also smiled at the sight of Kukui, as he too dashed over to him.

"Alola, Professor!" Ash says when he reached his former teacher.

"Alola, Ash," Kukui responds as he placed his hand on the top of Ash's hat with a bright smile on his face. "Welcome back, Keiki."

A huge smile appears on Ash's face as he says, "I'm glad to be back!"

"Pika!" Pikachu exclaims with a happy chirp, while Lucario nods happily after catching up to its trainer.

"You're both looking well, Pikachu and Lucario," Kukui states as Pikachu jumps off of Ash's shoulder, leaps onto the professor's shoulders, and starts nuzzling Kukui's face with its own. The professor chuckles while he shakes the Aura Pokemon's hand. The professor then notices the honey-blonde woman shyly walking over to them and turns to Ash with a curious look.

"Hey, Ash, is that...?" Kukui asks.

"Yep," The young man quickly answers."That's her. The one I worked hard to come back to."

Professor Kukui walks forward and looks at the young woman with a smile on his face. He extends his hand of friendship outward, and Serena, feeling a bit shy, stares at the professor with curious eyes, before shaking his hand.

"So," Kukui says while breaking away from the handshake. "You're Serena. It's great to finally meet you face to face. Ash has told me so much about you."

"Really? You don't say," Serena says with a giggle.

"Yeah, he was training endless hours so that he would be able to come back into your life," Kukui stated while looking both at Ash and Serena smiling. "And it looks like he accomplished that mission."

"He sure did, Professor," Serena stated, as she notices Ash was looking around the area.

"Hey, where's Professor Burnet?" He asks.

"She's waiting at home," Kukui answers before adding on, "with our newborn son, Lei."

"That's right. Congratulations on your newborn baby!" Serena says, smiling brightly. "You must be feeling so proud."

"I'm sure am, Serena," Kukui says, with a huge grin. "It took a lot of patience and determination while enduring all those food cravings and mood swings. It was nothing compared to my one guest who ate so much food that I had to keep buying more food."

"Huh?" Serena asks, confused until she notices a guilty-looking Ash, Pikachu, and Lucario are whistling with their hands behind their backs. When she saw that, she giggled a bit. "Yeah, I could imagine that."

"Anyway," Kukui begins, changing the discussion. "Let's head back to the house. Don't wanna keep them both waiting."

"Yeah, let's go!" Ash exclaims with excitement ringing from his voice.

"Can't wait to meet Burnet and Lei!" Serena proclaims as she, Ash, Pikachu, Lucario, and Kukui hop into the jeep, with the professor behind the wheel. He moves the car out of the airport parking zone and starts driving back to his house, excited to have Ash and Serena meet his newborn son.

As they were driving off, Serena asks, "By the way, you called Ash, 'Keiki.' What does that mean?"

"In our Alolan language, Keiki means son. I called Ash that because he was like a son to me while he stayed with me during his time in Alola. His time with me I will always cherish for as long as I live."

Serena smiles and turns to Ash with a sweet look as she says, "I know what you mean. I treasure every moment I have with Ash too.' She gives her boyfriend a brief kiss on the lips, and Ash responds with a toothy grin. Kukui watches the moment between the young couple from the rear-view mirror and smiles.

Eventually, they reached Kukui and Burnet's beach house, and Ash, Pikachu, and Lucario were the first ones to get out of the jeep. The three of them excitedly run straight to the door before topping in front of it.

"I'm back!" Ash exclaims with happiness in his voice.

"Pika pika!" Pikachu chirps happily.

The door opens slowly, with Professor Burnet there to greet them with a small infant in her arms. The moment she saw Ash, Pikachu, and Lucario at her door, Burnet's eyebrows arch with a smile on her face, and the pupils in her eyes grew large as they gaze upon her visitors.

"Welcome back, you three," Burnet says as she exits out of the house while holding her infant.

"Alola, Professor Burnet!" says before turning his eyes to the infant. "And...this is Lei, right?"

"That's right, Big Brother Ash," Burnet responds with a smile.

"Big Brother?" Ash asks with a surprised expression on his face before noticing Lei waving his hands, seeking attention from his 'big brother.' Ash goes to gently grab Lei's hand, but the baby boy grabs Ash's thumb first with his strong grip.

"Nice to meet you, Lei," Ash says while chuckling at the baby's cute movements. "Your hands are tiny!"

"The infant starts gently slapping Ash's cheeks until his mother says, "No, Lei." Burnet then noticed the honey-blonde and Kukui walking to the house and says with a bright smile, "Come on in, Serena."

"Thank you for your hospitality, Professor Burnet," Serena says with a smile. "I hope we won't be a bother."

"No, not at all," Burnet stated, comforting Serena as everyone entered the house.

But suddenly, just as Ash entered the house, a group of Pokemon charged straight towards him. When the young man saw them, his eyes widened and his smile got bigger, as he recognized them all. They were the Pokemon he caught while in Alola and left behind in the care of Professors when he left.

One of them was a small, avian Pokémon resembling a young owl with a round body and short legs. Its plumage is primarily beige with a white underside and facial disc. The facial disc itself is in the shape of two overlapping circles. It had large black eyes and a stubby beak. The top part of its beak is white, while the lower half is an orange-brown. Its feet have two forward-facing toes and one backward-facing toe; they are the same color as the lower half of its beak. Two leaves sprout from its chest arranged to resemble a bowtie. Additional leaves formed the tail and lined the undersides of its wings.

The wolf-like Pokemon had orange-gold fur and had three brown claws for all four feet. The white fluffy mane resembles a sun with part of the crescent moon. It also has four rocks around its neck like a sun as well along with a single, bigger stone coming from mane over its head. Its eyes were bright green.

In that group, there was also a bipedal, feline Pokémon with a muscular build with a short snout with a small red nose, bright green eyes with yellow sclera, and tiny, pointed ears. Large tufts of red fur extend from its cheeks, and much of its face is also red. The upper half of its muzzle and the top and back of its head is black. A thin red stripe runs vertically along its head to its snout, where it splits into a V-shape over its eyes. Its torso is gray with several black stripes and seems to resemble a wrestler tank-top; the front and back both have a single vertical stripe up the center, crossed by two horizontal lines. Around its waist is a belt formed from flames that somewhat resembles a championship wrestling belt. In the front center is a small, yellow flame shape. The arms, legs, and tail are all red with black stripes forming bands around them. The arms have three stripes, spiky tufts of black fur over the shoulders, and large five-fingered hands with white claws and a single light red pad on the palm. Its legs have only two stripes and simple three-toed paws, and the tail has one stripe and a tuft of spiky black fur around the tip.

The last Pokemon was a large, silvery Pokémon with a humanoid build that consists mostly of liquid metal. Many dark gray hexagonal nuts are embedded in or attached to its body: one around each shoulder, one around the center of each arm, one in each hand, one in each foot, and a small light grey one in the center of its torso. A large, golden hexagonal nut encircles its neck and a smaller one acts as its head. Floating in its head is a small, dark gray sphere. It has a small red tail resembling an electrical wire.

"Rowlet! Lycanroc! Incineroar! Melmetal!" Ash exclaimed as the group of four suddenly rushed in and hugged their trainer, along with Pikachu and Lucario. Serena, Kukui, and Burnet smiled at the reunion moment since Ash has not seen them for quite some time.

"I really missed you all!" Ash exclaimed with happiness and laughter, before commenting on the weight of Melmetal's hug. "Watch it, you're heavy!"

Serena smiled brightly at the sight of Ash reuniting with his Alolan Pokemon. Ash stopped laughing for a bit as he wanted to introduce Serena to his Alolan Pokemon.

"Everyone," He said, as he turned to the honey-blonde woman who was smiling. "This is Serena, the one that I trained so hard for."

All his Alolan Pokemon turned to look at Ash's girlfriend, with smiles on their faces. Serena waved to the Pokemon cautiously before they rushed over to her and overwhelmed her with hugs. Although it was sudden, Serena did not mind because she knows Pokemon raised by Ash would also treat his friends with care and respect. She was laughing out loud as Rowlet rubbed against her cheek and could feel the strength of Incineroar's muscles from its hug. Ash's Alolan Pokemon have already accepted her as part of the family, which she is thankful for.

"Now that's a real Blast Burn of a welcome," Kukui commented on Ash's Pokemon's methods of welcoming back their trainer and his girlfriend.

"Speaking of welcomes," Professor Burnet added. "There's gonna be a welcome party for you two at the Pokemon School. We better head over there right now."

"Alright, let's go!" Ash stated as he and Serena stopped hugging his Alolan Pokemon.

"A welcome party for me too?" Serena said, surprised.

"Of course, Serena," Burnet answers with a bright smile. "We'd like to welcome you to Alola just like when Ash first came here."

"Wow, I'm flattered," Serena says. "What are we waiting for? Let's go!"

"Yeah!" Everyone shouted in unison.

Ash returns his Alolan Pokemon to their Pokeballs, which he left behind for the Professors. Burnet also packed a couple of diapers for Lei. Once they, everyone headed back to the car to drive to the Pokemon School for the welcome party for Ash and Serena.
