Chapter 3: Farewell

Miluiel (Amelia) POV

~3 weeks later~

Over the past three weeks I have: grown closer with my parents, learned how to fight with my daggers that my Naneth gave me and a bow and arrows, I learned how to speak and write Elvish, and I have made a new friend. Her name is Idhrenniel and she has been so sweet and helpful to me.

Naneth said that she needed me so I am going to see what she needs. As I turn down a hallway, I see Idhrenniel walking in the same direction as me.

"Idrenniel!" I call her name to get her attention and I run up to her.

She turns and smiles at me, "Gi suilon, Miluiel."

"Gi suilon. Where are you heading?" I ask her.

"To see Lady Galadriel. She said she wants to talk to me. I have no idea why though, I only ever talked to her the one time you introduced her to me." She tells me. "You?"

"She said that she wanted to talk to me, too. I wonder what this is about?" I say.

"Well, we are about to find out." Idhrenniel states and I look over to see my Naneth.

"Gi suilon, Miluiel and Idhrenniel." She greets us.

"What do you need?" I ask, walking up to her.

"It's time." She said, sounding a little sad. "You leave for Imladris in the morning. Haldir will take you there, but he is not going to stay. That is why I asked you to come here, Idrenniel. I would like you to accompany Miluiel. If you do not mind."

"I do not mind at all, I would love to accompany Miluiel." She says, looking at me and giving me a smile.

I smile back at her. Then I look back at my Naneth.

"I will see you both in the morning. You should get some rest, it will be a long day of traveling tomorrow." She tells us and I give her a hug.

I walk with Idrenniel back to her room and say goodnight to her before heading back to my room. I can't wait until tomorrow, but I am also really nervous. I haven't met anybody outside of Lothlórien, I do not know if anyone will even like me. My mom told me that I will see mainly Elves, but I will also see some men, some Dwarves, and maybe even a Wizard and some Hobbits.

I enter my room and walk to the window. I feel a soft wind blow against my face and I close my eyes and smile. Hopefully I will have a better and happier life here. But, I still hope to see my family and friends on Earth again. I wonder if they know I am gone. I will have to ask my Naneth tomorrow.

I open my eyes, turning around, and head to my bed. Laying down, I let out a sigh. I slowly fall asleep.

I wake up and stretch my arms, having to squint when I open my eyes because the sun is shining so brightly. Quickly, I wash my hair and get changed.

After grabbing my bag and my weapons, I head to go meet up with My Naneth, Haldir, and Idrenniel. When I get there, I only see my Naneth and Haldir. Idrenniel should be here soon.

"Gi suilon Naneth and Haldir." I greet them.

Haldir just gives me a nod but my Naneth greets me back. "Gi suilon, Miluiel. Are you all ready to go?"

"Yes, I am ready to go as soon as Idrenniel gets here." I tell her.

Just as I say this I hear her, "I am here and I am ready to go."

I turn and give her a smile, she gives me a smile back. When I turn back around, there is a guard there with three horses. One of them is my horse, Elaina.

"Elaina!" I shout happily and run up to her, petting her nose when I get to her. "I've missed you."

"You will find everything you need packed in a bag attached to her saddle." Naneth informs me.

I run up over her and pull her into a hug. "I will miss you, Naneth. Thank you for everything you have done for me while I was here. I hope to be back soon."

"I will miss you too, Miluiel. Please, stay safe." She begs me, backing out of the hug.

"I will." I assure her.

She walks over to a chair and grabs a cloak. Then walks back over to me and removes something from the cloak.

"Do you know what this is?" She asks me and I shake my head. "It is called a circlet. All of the high Elves wear one. This one is yours." She gestures for me to bow my head down and I do what she tells me. She then places the circlet on my head. It looks similar to the one that she is wearing. She then hands me the cloak. "Take this, I want you to wear it at all times. It will help to keep you safe."

"Thank you." I thank her, putting on the cloak and mount my horse.

Haldir and Idrenniel mount their horses.

"Farewell. Have a safe journey." Naneth waves to us.

"Farewell." Idrenniel says back to her.

"Farewell, Naneth." I say to her.

And with that, we take off for Imladris.
