Destiny

(Set during 'Family Reunion - And Farewell'. And set in my Youth Wars AU series)

The Purrgil moved into hyperspace, taking the corroding star destroyer -with Thrawn and Ezra- with them. Ezra was putting all the energy he had into keeping Thrawn in place, preventing him from escaping the Purrgil's grip.

As they flew through hyperspace, the sheer force pushed Ezra away. With the ship going so fast, Ezra was pinned to a wall in the star destroyer. He could barely move his arms with the Purrgil moving at the speed the were; his body couldn't keep up with it, and he didn't know if he would make it. Just as long as his home was free and liberated. As long as his family -the people he loved- was safe. He had just made the sacrifice of his life, and that is what it may have cost him.

He soon passed out under the immense pressure. Blackness was all he saw.

Then he woke. He opened his eyes and got up. He was still in the star destroyer -it was a wreck-, though the Purrgil and Thrawn nowhere to be seen. He looked around. "Hello?" He shouted, hoping for a voice.

"Bridger." A deep, quiet, and echoed voice called back.

Ezra turned swiftly, eyebrows furrowed and pupils bouncing all over, searching for the source of what he heard. He did not recognize the voice, and that confused him.

Then he noticed something strange. He looked outside the star destroyer, and saw possibly the most beautiful sky in existence. It was a dark purple sky with illuminating gray clouds, and green and blue auroras all around. The auroras had thin, red outlines, giving them more color as well. Ezra stood there, his mouth agape.

"Am I... Dead?" He wondered. He backed up, then ran and jumped out of the star destroyer's bridge and onto its nose. He reached down and used the force to break his fall. He kept running and jumped off the nose, then saw that there was no ground. He started shouting in panic, trying to keep himself from falling. Then he noticed he wasn't falling; he was only under the star destroyer at its left side. He looked around and basked in he beauty of everything he was seeing.

"Man, Sabine would love this." He said.

"Bridger." He heard again.

He looked around in suspicion, then asked, "Who are you?"

Then he saw a shadow. It outlined a person, and it had a red line across his face. The line expanding at its edges, making itself out to be visor glasses. 'Or something of the sort.' Ezra thought. He looked on as it got closer, then it stopped right in front of him.

"Bridger." It said again.

"That's me." He said, carefully.

"You should've looked for me."

"Who are you?" He asked, but it started floating away. 'Oh typical.' He thought. "Hey! I asked you something."

It stopped, then turned back around. "An ancient legend has resurrected. You should've looked for me. Whether you realize it or not, the galaxy is in grave danger. Save the galaxy." Then he disappeared.

Then Ezra awoke. He only had a vision. He was inside the star destroyer, but some of the Purrgil were around the destroyer; the biggest one was looking at him straight in the eye, observing him from the distance.

"Um thank you?" He said, unsure of what happened. The Purrgil closed its observing eye, then slowly opened it back up, then all the Purrgil flew away. Ezra then stood up and watched them leave. He thought about the vision.

'Should've looked for him? I don't even know who he is? Should've looked for him when I had the chance is what it sounded like he meant. Sounds like I'm too late, though.' He thought. 'Maybe this was a mistake?' He asked himself. 'No! No. This sacrifice was necessary to save Lothal.'   ...      'But he sounded serious. Maybe we should've been looking for him. He might've been able to help us.' Ezra gave it some more thought. 'But if it wasn't for this, I wouldn't know that I was supposed to have looked for him.' He pointed out to himself. 'Sounds like I made a mistake by not looking for him; I have no idea who this guy is, and I didn't even know he existed before. But then again, by saving Lothal, I found out about him.' Ezra pointed out again. He realized either he has made a grave mistake, or he has not only saved Lothal, but by finding out about this mysterious character, he may have also saved the fate of the galaxy. Either way, he needed to return; he had won. Thrawn was perhaps dead, and Lothal was liberated. He did what he had said he would -he saw it out until the end- now there was something else he needed to take care of.
