*United Asia Space Agency*

"Sir, we lost the signal. Captain Zhang is on his own." Commander of the base operations informs General Xian Gao with a sullen look on his face.

General Gao was old, and the news, though not unexpected, had still come as a shock to him. He sways and grips the backrest of a chair to steady himself. He sighs, "May the merciful almighty protect him and bring him back home."

Zhang had flown out a few hours ago with a crew of four in the only ship capable and tested for space travel. After all, the United Asian Space Agency (UASA) was still in its infancy.

"This is all we can afford at the moment, General; if we don't try now, we will never be able to try at all." The young man of barely twenty-six had said confidently after confiding in his father about his plan.

Zhang knew that it was probably going to be a suicide mission, but he wanted to try before accepting failure, nonetheless.

The past generations had plundered their once beautiful planet: Earth. Things had taken a turn for the worse by the end of the century and were nuclear threats every day.

It felt like humans had lost their humanity. The seven deadly sins had made themselves known at every turn.
Humans needed a new start, a new place to call home. And that was the reason Captain Xian Zhang had flown out with his four best friends.

A few minutes ago, the commander of base operations had received a transmission that had informed him that Zhang's ship had encountered a wormhole and that despite their best efforts, it was being pulled into the wormhole.

A few minutes later, Zhang had come online and informed them that he had sent his crew members back home in shuttle pods.

"Abandon the ship Captain...son, fly back home." General Gao had begged him. Zhang was, after all, his only son.

Zhang had smiled bravely, "I can't, General. I am the only one blocking the pull of the wormhole from reaching the pods. If I abandon the ship, they will die."

General had banged the table and yelled, "And if you don't, you will."
Zhang had tears in his eyes as he had mouthed 'I love you, dad.' before going offline.
