Unspoken Tensions and Unplanned Revelations
The next day, Zain and Zayra sat next to each other in class, but they didn't speak or even look at each other. Both were focused on their work, trying to ignore the tension between them. Zain wanted to talk to Zayra, but she ignored him because of a misunderstanding caused by Arish.
In the last lesson of the day, their teacher walked in with a bright smile and a lively energy. "Alright, class, I have some exciting news! Next week, we're going on a school trip to a fantastic location! It's going to be an adventure, and everyone's required to go!"
The room erupted in cheers and excited chatter about the upcoming trip. However, Zain and Zayra stayed quiet, both feeling uneasy about spending more time together given their current conflict.
A few days later, the trip began. On the bus, Zayra was the last to board, and the only seat left was next to Zain. She sighed and took the seat, muttering under her breath, "Seriously? Why does it always have to be him?"
Zain, catching her comment, looked over with a touch of annoyance. "Did you say something? Is there an issue with sitting next to me?"
Eva, seated in the row ahead, overheard their exchange and called out, "Well, I wouldn't mind sitting next to you, Zain!"
Ewan, who was sitting in front of Eva, turned around with a smirk. "Really, Eva? If you're so keen to sit next to someone, why not join me? I'm all alone here."
Eva raised an eyebrow and replied, "Oh, come on, Ewan. I'd rather sit next to someone interesting."
Ewan chuckled and said, "Interesting? So you're saying I'm boring? That hurts, Eva."
Eva grinned. "Not boring, just not as exciting as the idea of sitting next to Zain."
Ewan laughed. "Well, if you think Zain's seat is so special, you should definitely take it. I'll enjoy my solo seat here and my peace and quiet."
Their playful banter drew laughs from the rest of the bus, lightening the mood and distracting everyone from the earlier tension.
Meanwhile, Lily, another friend from Zayra's class, stepped in. "Let's stop bickering and play Truth or Dare!"
Zain and Zayra hesitated, but Lily insisted, "Come on, don't be a mood killer. It'll be fun. Everyone join in!"
They agreed, and the game quickly became lively with laughter, creative dares, and revealing truths.
After four people had taken their turns, it was Zayra's turn. She chose "Truth."
When it was Zayra's turn, she chose "Truth." Eva, trying to steer the conversation, asked, "Alright, Zayra, spill the beans-what's something about your first love?"
Zayra shrugged. "Actually, I've never had a first love."
Her friend pressed on, "Okay, then tell us something about your latest crush."
Zayra smirked and replied, "Well, everyone talks about their crush like they're a prince charming. Mine was more like an old soda can-crushed and thrown away."
Zain, sitting nearby, looked slightly surprised by Zayra's comment, but the group burst into laughter, easing the earlier tension. The game continued with a lively energy as the bus neared their destination
