Lost in the Dark
They reached their destination, and everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves. As the students busily built their tents, Zain was lost in thought, muttering under his breath, "What was Zayra talking about? Who did she have a crush on? Wait, was she talking about me?"
Suddenly, his friend Ewan appeared, clapping a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, Zain, you alright? Or are you going nuts because of Zayra? You're talking to yourself."
Zain snapped out of his daze and rolled his eyes. "I'm fine, Ewan. Just... thinking."
Ewan smirked. "Well, if you start answering yourself, let me know."
Zain laughed, shaking his head. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Help me with this tent, will you?"
Soon it was getting dark and cold.
The students divided into two groups: one wanted to play games, and the other wanted to relax, enjoy the forest view, and chill.
Zayra initially leaned towards the relaxing group, imagining a peaceful evening. But when she saw that Zain had chosen the relaxing group, she changed her mind, deciding it was best to avoid him.
The games group gathered excitedly, playing classics like charades, , and a spirited game of Pictionary. The room was filled with laughter and playful banter.
During a round of charades Zayra lost and was given a dare by Max, who was always jealous of Zain's popularity and talents. With a mischievous grin, Max dared Zayra to dance in the other room.
Reluctantly, Zayra accepted the dare and headed to the other room. She was anxious about performing but felt compelled because it was a dare. She glanced around, worried Zain might see her, and, not spotting him, assumed he was outside. Nervously, she performed her dance, trying to block out the thought of anyone watching.
Unfortunately, Zain was sitting at the back and saw her entire performance. When Zayra finished, she spotted Zain and felt a surge of embarrassment. Her cheeks burned with humiliation, and she quickly fled the room, trying to hold back tears. Despite the cheers from the others, Zayra felt sure they were laughing at her, adding to her sense of shame.
In her embarrassment, Zayra wandered deep into the forest, ignoring the warning signs about potential dangers. The darkness and chill of the night set in, making her increasingly uneasy as she ventured further.
When everyone came out of their rooms for dinner, Zain realized Zayra was missing. Eva approached him, her face troubled. "Zain, have you seen Zayra? I looked everywhere, but she's gone."
Zain's heart sank. "No, I haven't seen her. I thought she was with you."
Panic rising, Zain quickly decided to search for her. He grabbed a flashlight and headed into the forest, his worry growing with each step. The thought of her alone and potentially in danger fueled his urgency.
