Chapter Ten

*Third Person's POV*

Aro leaned forward as his excitement barely contained. "Is there any chance we could see Addi now? Just for a moment? We've waited long enough to catch a glimpse of her." He asked, politely. Carlisle and Esme hesitated, glancing toward the staircase that led to Addi's room. "She's sleeping right now." Esme replied. "She had a long day and needs her rest." Carlisle added. Aro smiled, reassuringly, as he responded back, "We assure you, we won't wake her. We just want to see her face, to witness the one we feel so strongly connected to after all this time."

Carlisle considered their request. He could sense their eagerness and he understood the importance of this moment for them. "All right, but I must insist that you keep your voices down. I don't want her disturbed." He said. "Of course." Marcus simply answered, gently. "We simply wish to lay our eyes on her." Caius added, with a smirk appearing on his lips.

With a nod of agreement, Carlisle and Esme led the Kings out of the living room and walked up the stairs. The Cullen siblings watched, curiously and cautiously, at what the Kings were doing and decided to follow them, with the Guard walking behind them for precautionary measures. As they approached Addi's room, Carlisle turned to the siblings and whispered, "I promise you, the Kings won't wake her. Just a moment to see her—nothing more." Aro smiled, his anticipation growing. "Thank you, Carlisle. We appreciate this." He said.

As they reached the door, Carlisle quietly opened it, allowing the soft glow of the bright moonlight to spill through the windows and into the room. There, nestled in her bed, Addi lay peacefully asleep, her features relaxed and serene. Aro, Marcus, and Caius stepped into the room, with their expressions filled with awe as they took in the sight of her. The room was quiet, save for the soft sound of Addi's breathing and for a moment, it felt as though time had stopped.

"Beautiful." Marcus whispered. Caius nodded as his gaze was fixed on Addi. "She truly is remarkable." He commented. Aro smiled, affectionately, as he kept his crimson eyes on her as he was taking it in on how the human girl looked magnificently, stunning. "We've waited so long for this moment." He spoke, quietly.

Carlisle watched them, feeling a mix of emotions. He was glad they could finally see her, yet he remained vigilant, ready to step in if needed. The Kings stood in reverent silence, with their desire to protect her evident as they admired the girl who would soon learn of her extraordinary destiny.

As they stood around Addi's sleeping form, a slight stirring caught their attention. Aro and Caius exchanged worried glances as their instincts were on high alert. "What if we've disturbed her?" Aro whispered, his concern evident. Marcus, however, remained calm as his gaze was steady on Addi. "It's the connection of the mating bond. It's possible that she might be sensing us nearby, even in her sleep. It's a natural reaction." He reassured them, with his voice low.

As Addi settled back down, she cuddled against her pillow and a soft sigh escaped her lips. Aro felt the energy of her warmth wash over him and he couldn't help but smile. "Look at her. She is so innocent, so untouched by the darkness of the world." He said softly. Seeing the opportunity to make her more comfortable, Aro, gently, reached out and moved the covers over her, tucking them in around her shoulders, with Marcus and Caius getting tense as they were worried that he would wake her. But as he did, Addi instinctively snuggled deeper into her pillow, in which a contented expression was spreading across her face.

Caius watched, while his demeanor was softening as he and Marcus observed the tender moment. "She truly is a treasure." Caius murmured, while the edges of his usual sternness were fading in the presence of Addi's serene beauty. "Indeed, she is." Marcus agreed. Aro was in complete delight as he saw her respond to his touch. "She'll be ours to protect and love. Once she knows the truth, she'll understand the depth of our bond." He said, quietly, as a sense of possessiveness and joy was intertwining within him.

As they stood quietly in the dim light, the Kings shared a moment of connection in their admiration for Addi. Each of them felt the pull of the mating bond, the promise of a future together, and the responsibility that came with it. Even with his ability, Marcus could see the forms of the bond within him and his brothers being completely connected to Addi.

Carlisle watched the scene unfold, a mix of admiration and protectiveness filling him. He could see how deeply they cared for her already, even without fully knowing her. "Let's allow her to rest. We can return when she wakes up." He said, gently. With one last glance at Addi, Aro nodded, with his expression filled with resolve. "Yes, we will be here for her when she does. She deserves a chance to understand who she is and the love that awaits her." He responded.

As they stepped out of Addi's room, Aro paused, turning to Carlisle with a contemplative expression. "On second thought, I have a suggestion. Perhaps it would be best if we weren't present to Addi tomorrow before her performance. We wouldn't want to distract her or add any pressure." He suggested. Caius nodded in agreement, crossing his arms thoughtfully. "She needs to focus on her performance without the weight of our presence looming over her. It's a critical moment for her." "We can wait until the performance to show our support. That way, she can shine in her own right, free from any concerns about us." Marcus added.

Carlisle considered their suggestion carefully, appreciating their thoughtfulness. "I respect that suggestion. It's important that she feels confident and at ease. We want her to enjoy the moment and not feel overwhelmed by the weight of our expectations—or the truth she is yet to learn." He said. Aro smiled, relieved that Carlisle was on board with the idea.

"We'll be there, of course, with the Guard. They'll ensure everything goes smoothly. And once the performance is over, we'll be ready to support her through the next step." Aro replied. "Exactly. We can introduce ourselves gradually, letting her take in the moment before revealing what lies ahead." Caius said, as his usual seriousness softened by the thought of seeing Addi shine on stage. Carlisle nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of camaraderie with the Volturi Kings. "Then it's settled." He acknowledged.

With their plan in place, Aro, Caius, and Marcus shared knowing smiles, their anticipation for the following day palpable. As they prepared to part ways for the night, Carlisle felt a renewed sense of optimism. They were all committed to supporting Addi in her journey and together, they would help her navigate the complexities of her new life when the time was right.

Unbeknownst to the Cullens and the Volturi, two pairs of crimson eyes watched intently from the shadows of the trees near the Cullen house. Positioned deep within the foliage, two female figures observed the interactions between the covens and the Kings viewing their sleeping human mate. They growled at the sight ahead of them as their expressions were nothing but vengeance. The moonlight filtered through the leaves, casting an eerie glow on their features, revealing the sharp angles of their faces and the intensity of their sinister gaze. The two figures exchanged knowing glances, plotting their next move as they remained hidden among the trees throughout the night.
