LUCAS'S POV

I along with Eli entered my penthouse,and we were about to go to my room,but I stopped in my tracks abruptly when I heard Sanvi calling me from behind.

I turned around to look at her,she was standing, wearing a sweat pants and a off shoulder baggy shirt,it looks like she returned earlier..

"Lucas, Mickey you both are late,it's 8:46 now. Where were you both?" She questioned us in genuine concern.

We were late....
But I didn't know what to say,I didn't know how to behave,I just didn't know anything at all right now, f**k !! Shit!! I feel like punching the hell out of someone,.

What are you hiding Sanvi?

Eli seemed to notice my inner battle and the awkward silence that crept over my own self. So he smiled widely at Sanvi,and she just raised a brow at him in question.

"Aww Anabelle you care so much about us, we are honoured,--- Ah!! ok ,ok don't throw daggers at me now, on a serious note we where busy with some legal issue, that was why we both are late and I was with him too. So please forgive these poor peasants your highness. " Eli overdramatically exclaimed and bowed a little too, I just sighed helplessly at my bestfriend's melodrama,whereas Sanvi rolled her eyes and looked very much tempted to bang Eli's head on the nearest wall.

"Oh!! Ok then, did you both have dinner?" She questioned us,for which I shook my head in negative,so she smiled and ushered us to freshen up quickly, as she was starving.
I just nodded and dragged Eli who was opening his mouth,I am damm sure he was going to start another round of quarreling with her.

"Lucy why did you drag me from there?" Eli exclaimed in a accused tone as we reached my room, I just sat on the edge of my bed and massaged my temples.

"As much as I find your quarreling with Sanvi amusing,I don't really am in the mood to listen to you both blabbering about nonsense,that too for hours,no f*****g way. " I said while grumbling.
Eli just sighed and sat beside me.

"Lucy why don't we just confront Sanvi about this? Or I can just twist my words,and I'll try to get it out of her someway, hmm what say?" Eli said and I knew he was extremely concerned about me.
But ...
I sighed heavily

"Eli,you and me, we both are aware that Sanvi cannot be fooled,she is freaking smart,and on top of that she is a Psychiatrist,we can't really make out what is going on in her mind and she will definitely know that we are trying to twist her own words. She is not easy to fool,and I don't why,but I can't confront her, atleast not now,so you just try to find Nathaniel as soon as possible. I think it will be better if I speak to him. Hmm " I informed my plan to Eli, which I think he didn't like,as he had a disapproving look on his face. I know it was the best if I would have discussed with Sanvi,shit!!
Something wasn't letting me do so...
The next best option was Nathaniel Rossi.

If he didn't know anything about the marriage then?

I swallowed thickly at the thought of Nathaniel knowing nothing about our marriage.
Would he try to get her back?
I felt my chest tighten...
I clenched my fists
Shit!!
I just shook my head to clear out these thoughts and went inside the cloakroom to freshen up as Eli too exited out of my room.

I exited out of the cloakroom, feeling better and fresh,
I walked into Eli's room and saw that he was still in the process of wearing his t- shirt.
Just as I was about to tell him to hurry up, Sanvi's voice hollered calling us to hurry up, till here.
I snorted at that and Eli hurried past me wearing his shirt backwards.
I just rolled my eyes at the scaredy cat and ascended the stairs behind him.

Sanvi was standing in the dining hall with her arms crossed and glare so intense that could burn holes in you.

"Annabelle please , don't be mad at me.. It was Lucas who was taking an unholy amount of time to shower,I was calling him saying that you were starving and if we didn't reach downstairs in another ten minutes you could have fainted or worse you could have changed into your true form. Oh Jesus Christ!! " My bestfriend dramatically exclaimed while placing his hand on his heart and widening his eyes, he looked like a cartoon by the way.
And what the f*****g hell type of bestfriend is he? I was the one taking time really?? As if!!
I just shot him look of disbelief.

Sanvi chuckled loudly..
Her laugh is beautiful..
What the heck Lucas?
Shut the f**k up.

"Mickey ofcourse you are right!! Lucas should have taken an unholy amount of time to shower as it's not like your clothes are backwards so.. Yeah you are absolutely right!! " Sanvi commented sarcastically after she sobered up from her chuckling, I smirked at Eli ,when he finally realised that he was the one wearing his t-shirt backwards,
He shook his head and scoffed at me saying that it was the new fashion trend, which we old school people don't know about.
I just rolled my eyes at him and sat down on the chair and we all started eating peacefully..
After dinner I wished Sanvi good night and went upstairs leaving my bestfriend and wife to bicker over their favourite flavours...
I can't believe this.
I played with King a little and then slept with him as I couldn't sleep alone today...
After a lot of tossing and turning I finally slept thinking about my not so eventful day.

SANVI'S POV

(A WEEK LATER)

Something was up with Lucas, I was no fool to not notice his questioning gazes on me, he clearly had something which he was itching to ask me about,and he had also started answering me in hum's and OKs and nod's , which he didn't do earlier, he still informs me everything,but I can see something else is the problem, something which is making him gloomy and cranky at the same time,and my suspicion is confirmed by Mickey,he is doing a worst job in distracting me from noticing Lucas's behaviour,I just let him think that he succeeded in ,well distracting me, which isn't the case by the way. Mickey is discussing with me more and more about a lot of stupid things,it's kind of pissing me off to no end,but I play along with his not - letting- Sanvi- know game. These people seriously need to remember that I am a Psychiatrist, I just sighed and started checking out some work.

After a hour or so I kept my laptop aside and when I was checking on my schedule,I noticed something, the date actually.
Holy hell!!
There is only 3 days left for Luke's birthday,..
wait !! that means Lucas's Birthday.
It's his first birthday after our marriage, I think i should plan a suprise for him,
Lucas never threw birthday parties, neither did he ever celebrated the ones his Father or Uncle threw.
He would always celebrate his birthday with Luke and Michael.
I always sent him gifts, which I don't think he even spared a glance at them, I don't think he opened anyone else's gift except from his family and Michael.
Which is not a suprise,but this time I want to surprise him.
Hmm, I can easily suprise him and Luke,as this time I have Mickey to help me.
Hmm, let's see if he has a plan or something.

First I called Ana.

Look who graced us with their presence, do order me my queen , what shall a mere peasant like me offer you, your highness.
Ana sarcastically greeted me.
Wow!! really??
I meet this girl daily in the hospital,but she still behaves as if it's been ages already...
It's been barely 10 hours or so as we had a late night shift together and I was assigned to assist the surgeons as there was a grave accident that took place.
I still rolled my eyes at my bff though.

Hello to you too Ana,and I was thinking when are you free actually? I have something important to discuss with you and I need your help along with others.
I would have fooled around a bit,but now was not the time for it, so I just came straight to the point.

Hey is everything okay? Are you fine? Is th--

Ana I am fine, except for the fact that I am tired as hell, everything is ok,no need to stress about me, and I wanted to discuss something else and it's not a bad kind of serious issue,I just want your help that's it, so when are you free? I swiftly cut off my panicked friend and informed her that everything was just as fine as it could be, I know that as much as my friends try to deny and have that I -don't- care attitude, they are the first ones to throw off their work and just pop up infront of my house or wherever the hell I am just to make sure I am alright.
And I would do the exact same thing...
We are all just some bunch of overgrown kids that's all.
I chuckled softly at that.

Yes , Ana I am still here,but do tell me when are you free? I asked my friend now fed up with this I am fine or not question.

Umm, I am kind of free after an hour or so, should I come over then? Ana inquired me and I calculated and thought that it would be better if I got to know about everyone's free time and then I can decide about the time.
Hmm, that's a great idea.

Ana can you like wait an half an hour or an hour, I will inform you after I speak to everyone else. It will be better that way, wait!! You are free the whole day right?? I asked Ana as I was kind of free because of the overwork we did yesterday.

Hmm, I am... Ok then call me when you decide,bye. I replied a bye and hung up the phone and called Edward next.

Hey Eddy!! I called out Edward,who will definitely not like the name, actually he likes it secretly but pretends to despise the name as if it's venom or something.

Sanu I have informed you nth time not to call me that... And yeah Hi!! I laughed at his Hi!! He is just so easy to provoke.

Ok!! Eddy,I would joke around more but I wanted to discuss something with you all, so are you free today ? I came straight to the point once again.
And I heard some clicking sounds ,which means he is looking at his schedule..

"Yeah I am kind of free after an hour or two,ok max two hours.. so what's the matter? Are you okay? Has anything hap-- "

"I am fine,it's about something else, important but nothing bad, okay then I will inform you when to stop by.. ok!!" I hurriedly cut off Edward,cause I knew that he was a mother hen, so I would definitely not listen to his ramblings for another hour,when I am absolutely fit and fine.

Oh okay then, bye,text me don't call as I will be in a meeting. I nodded then I remembered that he can't really see me,I facepalmed myself and said an okay,bye and cut the call.

Next I called Mahi

Sanu did you remember your elder sister just now? Just because you got married,it definitely doesn't mean that you should forget about us, that's just so unfair and mean ,I can't believe what the world has come to,no respect for the elders at all and not even asking if they are doing go--

Hello Di !! I am so sorry for not calling you yesterday as I met you day before yesterday, how cruel of me to think that it was okay to not call you even though i spent almost all day in the hospital. Very very bad. I sarcastically remarked and cut off Mahi Di's babbling about youngers loosing manners and respect blah blah blah.
I rolled my eyes at her babble,she is just so unbelievable.

You ungrateful brat, don't give me your sarcasm,and don't you dare cu--

Di can we continue our quarreling any other time,I have something to tell you and--

Oh holy mother of Jesus Christ , don't tell me you are already pregnant, I mean it's not a bad thing I guess,but I never expected that,I mean after N--

Di what the freaking hell are you talking about,please stop this nonsense and for godsake I am not pregnant. I don't even want to know how you came to this unbelievable conclusion. But whatever.. I wanted to discuss something else so are you free? I cut my Mahi di off while I was still striving hard not to just bang my head on the nearest wall,I can't believe that out of a millions of possibilities,she assumed the impossible one ...
Me and Lucas behave like roomates for godsake.
I just took a deep breath to calm myself and heard Mahi Di sigh ..

Thank God!! I may be older than you,but I am too young to become an Aunt. So yeah I am actually free right now,
Mahi Di answered me and I replied her the same that I will inform her later about the time and rushed out a bye and hung up the call,cause knowing Mahi Di she might just come up with another new out of the world theories,which I don't think I can handle.

I called Lia (Amelia, Lucas's sister)

She is the only one who is sane and remembers about their birthday for now.

Sanvi I am in, when should I come?
Lia cut me off and I informed her the same thing as I informed others and also asked her if she could bring Liam (Lucas's brother) and she said that she will try to bring him with her and finally said bye then she hung up the call.

I called the devil himself to know about his whereabouts,I just hope and pray for him to be in his own company rather than Lucas's. Apparently he loves to stay at Lucas's house and company more than his own.

My,my. Anabelle herself called me,so what did this mere human do to owe the pleasure of your highness of evil to call me. Michael amusingly remarked,I just rolled my eyes at him and his antics.

Mickey as much as I want to answer you with the exact same tone of yours,I can't atleast not now,I actually wanted to discuss something with you.

Ofcourse Sanvi,you can talk to me about anything and everything,so what is that you want to talk about?
Mickey sounded extremely serious...
Somehow I feel like he is thinking about something else,I don't know what,but I can't think about it, atleast not now.

Mickey, I wanted your help in arranging a suprise birthday party for both Luke and Lucas. I know everything about Luke as he is my best friend,but I don't know more about Lucas and you are his best friend,so you probably know his likes,his dislikes and everything else... So... Are you free?? I asked Mickey, while holding my breath... Shit !! Why isn't he answering me?

After a pause of painfully few seconds,he sighed.

Ofcourse I will help you Anabelle,Lucas deserves a suprise birthday party,he should celebrate with everyone else too,not just me and Luke,but I don't know how much is he going to like it,.. I have no idea about that,as he always forbids me and Luke to throw a party for both of them. I just hope that he won't be furious about this,but I will help you,as I want him to enjoy every f*****g thing. And I will be free after an hour .. I was going to suprise Lucas,but it's okay, this is a better suprise. So at what time and which place actually?

Next planning ...

I got up and walked upstairs in my room, freshened up and changed into a blue denim jeans and a full sleeve white and blue turtle neck top,and wore my all time favourite sneakers,tied my hair in a half updo and applied lip balm that's it, I took my sling bag and exited out of my room , and before going downstairs,I thought to take King with me as he was home today, almost always he is with Lucas,but because of his routine check up and it cancelled out at the last minute.
I entered his room and saw him looking intently at the basket ball..
Ok !!

"King, would you like to come with me today? " I asked him,as I kneeled near him and patted his head, his furs are so soft..
He barked in response and stood up,and I took it as a cue that he wants to accompany me.
So I took out his belt and clinked it to his collar which had his name written on it with Diamonds embedded on it.
He is Lucas's precious son,what else can you expect?

We exited out of the penthouse and then I got in the driver seat of my Mercedes Benz and King got in the passenger seat with me.

We reached the complex and I parked in the parking lot and walked into the elevator with King.

We exited out of the elevator and I opened the door and entered my apartment and just as we reached the living area,Mahi was dancing and singing while cooking in the kitchen,we could see the open kitchen from the living area...
King stood infront of me, it was like he was protecting me from an unknown dancing person..
I smiled at his protective instincts and patted his head so that he would calm himself a little.

He looked at me with those cute puppy eyes which screamed confusion,so I kneeled in front of him and held his face in my hands.

"No need to worry King,she is my sister. She is not a threat,so be a good boy ok." In response I got a small lick on my nose and a happy bark..

Yeah we have gotten close.

I playfully narrowed my eyes and him and he just gave me another lick, I just patted his head and got up.
Only to fall flat on the floor with a shriek.
I placed a hand on my chest and looked at Mahi in bewilderment.

"What the heck Mahi Di? Why on earth would you scare me like that? " I asked her while taking her hand which she offered to stand up.

"I just saw you and King whispering something,so I thought to check you both, but before that you turned around and saw me kneeling down and shrieked like I was some kidnapper, it's not my fault,that you got scared.  " Di said while casually shrugging her shoulders.
I just shook my head and sat on the love seat and King plopped beside me.

Mahi Di went back to her cooking and after an hour we heard the first bell, and I knew who this was actually,
Only one person follows the rules.

I opened the door, only to be met with a soft body hugging the hell out of me..
It's Lia..

I hugged back..

"Calm down Lia,she is going to choke if you don't loosen your hold a bit." Mahi Di informed Lia ,and the tight hold on my neck loosened and I breathed in relief..
My god the hug really did cut off my oxygen supply.
Lia should hug her enemies like this, they would never ever try to bad mouth her ever again after her sweet torture.

"Oh sorry, Sanvi I was really excited that's it. "  Lia sheepishly said after parting from the suffocating hug.

Then she moved to hug Mahi Di and then hugged the poor King, ...

Ana entered next as technically this is her house too .

We hugged each other and King narrowed his eyes at her..
Ofcourse,he won't like them,and I also know that he becomes extremely uncomfortable in the presence of unknown female population.
Oh !! Who am I kidding? He is just like his Dad ,, running away from the female population.
I just sighed at that.

Next was Eddy and atlast was my dear Mickey.

After seeing King, Mickey brightened like  the sun himself and hugged him and kissed him all over the face,while King tried to move away from the clutches of Mickey.
I snorted at the antics of Mickey and first we had our lunch, which was mouthwatering by the way..
Mickey even offered Mahi Di to work for his non-existent Restaurant.
Which Mahi Di not so politely declined.

Then we started planning about the suprise birthday party,with Ana's bickering, Eddy's Commenting, Mahi Di's Other worldly suggestions, King's constant whining and Mickey rejecting almost every single plan, by giving the excuse of Lucas not liking it.
Somehow I seriously doubt that this rejecting was purely because of Mickey not liking the venue or the ideas,not because of Lucas.
I shook my head in disbelief,but continued our work.
