"Come in Mr Knight,Mr Romano." Jacob
welcomed us into his penthouse.

I gave him a curt nod and entered his Penthouse subtly dragging Eli who was busy ogling a artifact which stood proudly infront of Jacob's penthouse.
I rolled my eyes at the weird antics of my best friend.

You both just wear a facade of cold hearted billionaire's ,in reality you both are a giant teddy bear.nothing else.
I can now seriously understand why you both are bestfriend's .my conscience commented..
I sighed heavily at my oh-so-supporting conscience.(pure sarcasm)

"Mr Knight, Mr Romano please have a seat,would you like to have something?" Jacob ushered us to sit on one of the couch in the living room and looked at us expectantly.

Yes can I have Egyptian whiskey.....

Nah, you cannot... You don't want Jacob to know about the oh-so-innocent Lucas.
My conscience chided at me..
Well I behave childishly when I am drunk...
So yeah,

I glanced at Eli and when he was about to open his mouth for an answer,I swiftly cut him off, knowing Eli he would surely ask for a black coffee,which he has already had 4 cups...
He will be super active... No not good for me..

"Water is just enough, and Jacob ,call us Lucas and El-- Michael. No need to be so formal in here." I informed Jacob politely.
... I think,while Eli glared at me.

Yeah, yeah you literally commanded him, as if he is one of your employees... Look at that poor fellow,here he is helping us and you are scaring the shit out of him,by that icy cold stare of yours,we want him alive not frozen. My conscience piped in.

So I tried to smile at Jacob,a slight twitch, which I think came out more like a grimace,as he visibly tensed and tried to smile at us and hurriedly informed one of his maids to bring water for us.

After that we fell into a very awkward silence,few seconds later,by sensing that no one was ready to break the ice first, Eli took it upon himself to end this extremely painful silence and asked Jacob about the topic for which we actually came here, without giving much of a thought to anything else..
I cancelled my two meetings for this...
I clenched my fist,while thinking about that thing which made me do it.

"Oh!! Uh!! Yeah, actually it may take a while for me to find that ,as it's been a very long time, almost 5 years to be precise.. so, I will search that ... In the mean time if you need anything,just call Aunt Carly,she will be at your service. "
We just nodded our head simultaneously, which recieved a shocked look from Jacob,me and Eli are now familiar to those looks,he nodded at us and left for his room,.. I think.

By now I was bouncing my left leg in anticipation...
Where the hell is this Jacob?
Oh f*****g hell!! I have never been so nervous in my life..
Eli placed his hand on my left knee and said.

"Lucy,calm down,it's going to be alright.. ok!! No need to stress yourself about this,it's all in the past nothing else.. we are just here to know more .. hmm, and for f**k sake stop shaking your legs,it's annoying as hell." I shoot him a look, which said shut-the-hell-up.
Which he promptly ignored and started drumming on the teapoy..
I gave him a are-you-serious-look....
It was also ignored by my dear bestfriend.
Really?
He has the habit of drumming when he is nervous,and this idiot has the audacity to calm me down, bloody idiot; he himself is nervous as hell, and why is he anxious by the way?
I rolled my eyes at him.
Eli is just unbelievable

First my marriage, now this... Wow.
Aghhhhh!!
I groaned in misery...

I remembered the incident which led us here, without a single thought about anything else.

I pinched the bridge of my nose and tried my hardest not to burst out here on Jacob as a volcano..

"Mr Williams,it will be better if you start from the start, for both your safety and our sanity." Eli warned Jacob in a gruff voice..

Jacob tensed a little bit,as he finally seemed to grasp the information about us not knowing anything about Sanvi's supposed ex-fiance (by the way great!! captian obvious for finding out so early) and now he was suddenly feeling anxious;anyone could tell that,as he was constantly shuffling in his seat and was unconsciously touching his tie and watch...

But I didn't have the patience to calm him, rather I intensified my glare at him and Eli twirled his chair and sat facing him with a blank face.

"I was Sanvi's classmate in the University, I-- " Jacob was not so politely cut off by Eli.

"Do we by any chance give you the idea that we are fools, Mr Williams?" Eli questioned Jacob with a straight face,.. this was the Lawyer Michael Elijah Romano investigating...

Jacob seemed to be startled by Eli's sudden accusation,he suddenly frowned and shook his head as a no..

"No,no Mr Romano why would you assume that? " Jacob asked Eli totally troubled by his words..

"I was stating the truth Mr Williams,as you said that you were Sanvi's classmate,but aren't you supposed to be a business major?? She Was A Medical Student, Mr Williams, so you better stop spewing lies otherwise...." Eli threatened Jacob all while having a straight face..

Contrary to what I thought,Jacob grinned happily all of a sudden as if he got the solution for world hunger problems. (Which I would have appreciated a lot)But then suddenly frowned and his expressions hardened,he sighed dejectedly and said.

"Ohh!! Actually Mr Romano, I was a medical student for 2 years, I wanted to become a Psychiatrist too, .. this business was forcefully handed over to me.. I had to sacrifice my dream for this.. Nevertheless, past is past,I can't change it.. so now can I continue?" He asked and we just nodded at him,I stopped glaring at him, feeling bad at the fact that he had to sacrifice his dreams,... Just because his brother ran away to god knows where, I knew about that,but I didn't know this sacrifice and all.

"So as you see it is the same University,in which your twin studied Mr Knight, I was from the same college,so I knew almost most of them,and Sanvi was from India , she was that girl, who dared to stand up and openly challenge and reject the Luke Knight, he was the most popular,charmer,rich,and the no:1 Playboy in our Uni, he used to mess with us,even if he was in his 1st year MBA,and we were doing MBBS, so on the very first day of her entry ,she had a blast with Luke, she was admired from the very first day, because of her daring and nonchalant personality. She wouldn't think twice before stopping something wrong, and after she sweetly ignored and warned Luke, all the boys liked her in an instant as she was beauty with brain and some of the girls were Jealous of her, while the others were extremely happy and wanted to be her friend. Just as Luke was termed as the Charming Playboy, Then there was this another guy,Nate, he was a medical student too,in the 4th year;our senior, he was termed as the Badboy of the Uni, contrary to some of the rumours,he was a good guy but the worst if someone messed with his one and only friend Cole. Nobody knew more about him as he would always isolate himself along with Cole,and he wouldn't talk much too, on top of that he never once glanced at a single girl in the Uni,even if all the girls , including the nerd and shy ones where crushing on him but, they wouldn't dare to throw themselves on him as he was termed as the Devil himself.. He would always have this dangerous and cold aura around him. No one messed with him, We never saw a single emotion in face,apart from his icy glare and his fury that too only once, when one of Luke's classmate bullied Cole. I don't think so Luke and Nate hated each other,but they surely weren't each other's favourite. So when Luke and Sanvi had a fight on the very first day of Sanvi's entry, Along with quater part of the students from the Uni,Nate was also present there,I don't know if it's real or not,but many said that Nate had a small smirk playing on his face and also that he kept gazing at her. That was a shocker for all. " Jacob spoke while looking up as if all of this story was playing one by one on the ceiling.

I don't like where this is going....

Lucas it should go there,if it doesn't then how will you know about Sanvi's ex-fiance? My conscience questioned me.

And why did this Jacob stop there?
Just as I raised a brow in question, he started talking once again.
Good for him.

"That was actually the start of their story, Actually Sanvi was the one who started trying to converse with Nate,to everyone else it looked like he wasn't giving a f**k!you know about Sanvi, but Cole had become her friend and Nate would listen to her ramblings, and answer her sometimes with a nod and humming, which directly showed the amount of affection he held for her and that she was special,cause Nate never ever gave a second glance to any other girl and the amount of time he was spending with Sanvi even when Cole wasn't there with them,showed the extent of Nate's affection. Everyone knew that Nate wasn't changing but all knew that in the near future he sure would behave in a soft demeanor with Sanvi. And in the mean time Sanvi rejected so many boys that I don't even remember, including me and Luke." Just as Jacob stopped ...

I shot daggers at Jacob,and he passed me a sheepish look, looks like someone isn't scared of me and is eventually warming up to me.

He flirted with her ....

Shame on you Lucas, excluding your own self ,everyone else flirted with our wife including your own Bestfriend and Twin Brother,and you, you are her husband and you both greet eachother as if you are some roomates... My conscience sneered at me..

Now I really feel betrayed.

Eli was throwing a judgemental look at Jacob.
I scoffed at him,look who is judging, I can't believe this .

As if sensing my glare on him,Eli passed me a innocent smile as if he knew nothing.

"Anyways,let's move forward, and after two whole months Nate asked her out on a date, like in the campus infront of so many students.. and Sanvi eagerly nodded and hugged him,to say that we were shocked would be an understatement,when Nate reciprocated the hug... All the student's jaw was hanging out and it was the first time when I couldn't close my mouth for almost 5 minutes, eyes so wide .. god!! We were dreaming, that's what I think everyone thought when we saw a small genuine smile on Nate, Luke, Edward (Sanvi's other bff) and Ana were all baffled, only Cole was smiling widely as if he knew all of this,he might even. That was the beginning of their cute and beautiful love story. " I stared blankly at Jacob as he dreamily sighed...

What the hell is there to be so happy about remembering them?

Ohh!! Lucy don't be Jealous now, that's in the past,if you thought that I was going to say that,....then no... I am going to help you kill this f****r .. it was fine till he proposed and got rejected,now it isn't funny... My conscience snarled and I just shook my head..

I am going crazy,, great!!

"So then they started dating, and it was like they were attached to hip always, one could rarely see them apart, except from their classes,which was obviously different from each other. Nate was extremely possesive of Sanvi, he didn't automatically started conversing with everyone,but he started to acknowledge our presence atleast. I became close to Sanvi when we were paired for a project. That was when I got to know about the extent and depth of Nate's and Sanvi's Love and affection for each other. Nate used to always accompany our sessions,he would just sleep sometimes while keeping his head on Sanvi's shoulder or Lap. Sometimes he would help us.Sanvi was overjoyed by the fact that he was accompanying her .. but one thing was sure that he loved her too much, and he didn't trail with her to our sessions with the intention of scaring me or something, rather he always had good intentions. Their love story was that of a fairytale, Sanvi the epitome of beauty, good girl, extrovert a bubbly personality, sassy and extremely intelligent. Then there was Nate the handsome Greek god, the Badboy, cold, somewhat introvert, I think he hated people's presence,and he was one of the most talented and intelligent person I have ever met,no one really saw him studying like ever,but he always succeeded in topping the Uni, They were completely different,still they fit together like a perfect puzzle together. Everyone admired them,and ofcourse they were the star couple .. hell!! Our professors loved them . Everything was good ,and after two years when Luke and obviously Nate were graduating, on the graduation day Nate proposed Sanvi,on the stage after receiving his gold medal, then and there Sanvi and Nate were engaged and they moved in together,this is the only thing I know. I had to go to Canada after that,so I don't know anything about them after that, as I didn't keep any contact with anyone of them... For personal reasons. Which I don't want to discuss,I hope you understand." I nodded at him.
I clenched my fist tightly.. my jaw tightened.

What the heck??
So the moral of the story is that, they were a lovey dovey, perfect couple,so then where is he? What happened?
And Sanvi is a bubbly extrovert?
Really??
She didn't seem like that to me..
Did she changed after the breakup?
If they loved each other so much then why marry me?
What is happening here?

"Then were is This so called Nate now?" Eli questioned curiously.

Even I was curious about that.
Where was he?
Does he even know about our marriage?

"I don't know; seriously,I just heard about Sanvi's accomplishments that's it. And some rumours about Nate that's it,which was absurd may I add." Jacob answered and sighed heavily.

"This just proved all of us wrong,I mean for us Nate and Sanvi were the ultimate couple goal, everyone wanted to have love story like them. And here I thought that the next time I face them,they would be happily married,also that they would have a child . ..Uh!! No offense Mr Knight."
I glared at him,f**k your offense.
I can't believe this ...
Child..???? ... Ughhh,I groaned frustratingly. I wanted to punch something....
Why didn't Luke never informed me about this...
He always informs me everything,why did he keep such a big thing from me?
Who is Nate?

Yeah,you are absolutely right this time Lucy,I can't believe Luke kept it from us.
And again who is this bloody Nate?? My conscience surprisingly supported me.

"So this Nate is a doctor now?" Eli once again inquired..
I raised a brow at Jacob too.

But why was Eli asking all the questions?
He is a lawyer... Hmm,
That answers my question.

"No, I mean to say yes... But he is also a CEO of a multinational company last time I heard." I looked at him in pure astonishment.

How come I never heard about this so called Nate?

"How come we never knew about this Nate?I mean if he was a CEO" Eli voiced out his thoughts .

Eli seemed to have the same question.
We have same thoughts too.

"Oh !! You both got confused of Nate,his name is not Nate." I stood up and looked at him incredibly..

What the f**k?

"No ,I mean its a short form for his name." I sat back on my seat..
This Jacob is the worst story teller.

I growled frustratingly.

"Mr Williams,we aren't watching some movie here,so don't try to create suspense here,and come to the f*****g point. " Eli exclaimed while running his fingers in his hair,now losing his blank face.

"Nate as in Nathaniel Rossi" Jacob hurriedly blurted out.

Silence flowed through the cabin,no one uttered a word..

The group photos.. actually,but they are both in most of the pictures from our trips and excursions." Jacob proposed and Eli glanced at me for my opinion and I just nodded at Jacob and informed Joel to cancel my meetings for the day.

Jacob ascended the stairs with a laptop in his hold.

Me and Eli gave him a seat in the middle as we both wanted to look at the pictures.

He opened his laptop and then clicked on a specific folder,.. seems like he already saved it. Just as the first picture showed up,my breath hitched...
I felt my chest tighten ...

There in the picture was Jacob,Sanvi and Nate...
They all looked younger,
I rolled my eyes at that, ofcourse they would be.
Jacob was sitting on a couch and Sanvi next to him,while Nate was peacefully sleeping by placing his head on Sanvi's shoulder. Nate seemed to be unaware of this as Jacob and Sanvi had a big mischievous smile on their faces.

"This picture was actually taken because, Sanvi wanted it. It was another one of our discussions in my apartment,and Nate was peacefully sleeping and had no idea about this." Jacob explained while smiling, maybe reminiscing about the day.

I scowled ...
There is nothing to smile about.

Then the next picture consisted of Luke, Edward,Sanvi,Nate, Jacob, Ana and another two unknown people . In this Luke was standing to Sanvi's left his one hand placed on Sanvi's shoulder and other one on Ana, and Nate was standing to her right and he was holding her waist,while next to him stood someone on whom Nate had placed a hand on his shoulder. Then Jacob , Edward and the other guy who looked bigger than both Jacob and Edward was sitting down,while doing some crazy gesture.

"That guy next to Nate is Cole his bestfriend,and the guy next to me is Enzo,he was like the ultimate next Badboy after Nate,and he was Ana's boyfriend for a year,then they mutually broke up,but they still remained friends." Jacob explained to us..

Then the next picture looked like it was taken during camping,I clenched my fist, f**k this picture was too much to handle,
Sanvi was sitting in between Nate's wide open legs,and he had his chin placed on her shoulders as she leaned on him completely,they were cuddling and seemed to be in their own world,Luke was sitting next to them and Ana and Enzo were cuddling on the other side of him, Edward seemed to be dozing off on Jacob's shoulder. They had a bonfire infront of them.

"This was our first camping trip,and there were three others with us,Cole, Katherine and Merlin." Jacob seemed to enjoying his run down trip to past memories,while I wanted to strangle someone,and Eli would pass me worried glances..

F**k!! Shit!!

Next picture gave me this sudden urge to break this Laptop..

Even if you do,there is nothing we can do to change this... It's real Lucas,my conscience remained me in exaggeration.

Sanvi was sitting on Nate's lap and happily kissing his cheek,Luke and Edward were making some funny faces in the back while, Ana and Enzo seemed to be engrossed in sucking each other's face...
Ewe,... Gross!!
I was going to gag!!
Jacob and Cole seemed to be happily laughing about something in the back.

"This picture was taken by Merlin,she took it in a discreet way,but somehow Edward and Luke knew about that and they both started doing some funny faces. We had no clue about that,at all. Enzo was extremely embarrassed after seeing this photo.." Jacob explained the back story of this photo...

And after seeing this I want to destroy every f*****g thing in here...
I massaged my temples,...

I clenched and unclenched my fist,...

I was pacing in Jacob's living room, I stopped pacing and loosened my tie...
This was too much to take in...
I was furious,I so badly wanted to throw something,after such a long time...
I had a myriad of emotions running in my mind and it suddenly suffocated me... .
I was never good at expressing my emotions other than anger...
I don't know why I was furious,when I had no right to be,I don't know why I am sad, which sounds absurd neither do I know why I feel hurt and betrayed,.. this is seriously childish.
He was her past.
And the worst of all was the pang on my chest everytime I took in the photos,and the happy couple in it...
My chest tightened,I felt extreme discomfort,and something else which I never experienced and neither do I know what the f**k is that...

I had so many unanswered questions..

Where is Nathaniel?
Why did they breakup?
Why did Nathaniel made Sanvi the CEO?
Why didn't Luke informed me about this?
Did Nathaniel even knew about our marriage?
Was he going to come back in Sanvi's life??

I shuddered at that,and suddenly I was more furious then before,at the last question..

I was extremely confused about my own self..
Why do I care about this?
Why is this effecting me?
Why the f**k do I care??
Why don't I like to see Sanvi with someone else??
Why... f*****g hell why?

Unable to control anymore,I kicked the teapoy infront of me...
Which fell down with a thud sound, and the glass vase shattered into pieces..
I kind of forgot that it wasn't my house..
I just plopped down on the nearest couch and held my head in my hands..
This was all too much for me...
I heard a gasp ...
And looked up to see that Jacob was having a seizure while staring at the vase with such intense sad eyes and it felt like he was going to cry over it...
I rolled my eyes at the kicked puppy looking Jacob, ..he is behaving as if it wasn't the vase which shattered rather his own heart, he is overreacting,

Eli had his usual blank face,but when he met my eyes,I could see my best friend's sadness,which brimmed in his eyes...
I just passed him a reassuring nod and stood up,...
Which seemed to alarm the mourning Jacob...
By the way he was behaving,I wouldn't be surprised if he held a cremation ceremony for his precious vase,...
His eyes didn't even glance at anything else , as if the only thing mattered now was his vase...

Jacob glared at me,.. I just stared at him ,with a raised brow
What??

He seemed offended that I wasn't scared by his super powerful glare..

"Jacob just inform my PA about the amount of the Vase,or better yet just inform him the model,I will send it to you.." I informed him, and nodded at Eli,who stood up and we were about to move out when Jacob spoke.

"Lucas it was the most expensive and the only one of its type,I brought it in a auction,and no need to pay for it,.. it's precious,no money can ever recompense for it.." I whirled around and looked at him incredibly...
Wow!!
I scoffed at this dramatic fellow...

"It wasn't my intention to break your vase Jacob and I don't care if you want the money or not, you are going to take it,. And no tantrums on it.. I truly do appreciate your help.. and now you can continue to mourn over your vase.." after saying this I made my way out of the now open door,... Which I have no idea of.
Who the heck opened the door?
I just shook my head and exited out..

Eli parked the car on our special place and I exited out of the car and sat on the wooden bench and Eli sat beside me and kept his hand on my shoulder.

"Hey Lucy it's ok!! That's all in the past. Hmm,.. Luke would have informed you if it was going to cause you any trouble. I don't think so Luke would ever betray you like that... He loves you to much.. maybe Sanvi didn't like to talk about that incident.. hmm, " I just hugged Eli and sighed heavily...

"Hmm, maybe you are right, but Eli what about the company? How did Sanvi become the CEO if it belonged to Nathaniel,and where is he now?? " I voiced out my questions to Eli..

"Don't worry,I will try to gather as much information as I can,and that too as soon as possible. Hmm, just relax.." I seperated myself from Eli and nodded my head..

If Eli said he would find out,then he would.
But what actually happened between Sanvi and Nate??
I sighed in frustration....
