Lisa :- so ?

Lisa :- why not ?

Naira didn't say anything, just kept walking, but Lisa could feel something was wrong. She looked forward to see Kartik and Kairav walking ahead.

Lisa :- Kartik.

Kartik turned around.

Kartik :- haa Lisa.

Lisa :- you guys go ahead. Mughe ek kaam mein Tina ki help chahiye, toh hum half an hour mein aate hai. Okay ?

Kartik looked at both of them. Naira was also looking at Lisa, who had a slightly amused expression. He understood what work Lisa had, but didn't say anything. He just nodded.

Kartik :- okay.

Lisa turned to Naira and took her hand and started walking towards the beach.

Naira :- Lisa, why are we going back towards the beach and tumhe Aisa kya kaam hai ?

Lisa didn't say anything and just continued walking,

Naira :- Lisa, it's already getting late, and whatever work you have, can't we do it tomorrow?

Naira knew Lisa wanted to talk about what had happened, and all naira wanted was to avoid the topic.

They finally reached the beach and Lisa made her sit on one of the benches there and they faced each other.

Lisa :- talk girl.

Naira :- about what ?

Lisa :- oh come on Tina, Don't play dumb with me now, you know what I am asking you.

Naira was quiet. What was she supposed to say in a situation like this ?? She was so conflicted, she didn't know what to do. Till now she was just ignoring the issue, the tension, the heat between her and Kartik, but it couldn't go on like this any longer, today's incidents were proof of that.

The only reason they hadn't kissed on the beach was because Kairav had called them, she also knew that if it wasn't for Kairav then instead of just simply kissing, they would have made out right there on the beach without caring if anyone was watching them or not. Why was she so weak when it came to Kartik ? Just being near him was causing the walls she had built around her heart to crumble.

Lisa :- Naira, sooner or later you have to face it, do you really think, that just by ignoring the issue it will go away ?

Naira :- I am not ignoring it Lisa, it's just-

Lisa :- Tina, you are one of my closest friends. I love you girl, i really do, but I am not gonna let you lie, not to me and especially not to yourself. You may deny it, but the truth is that both of you are completely ignoring the issue.

Naira :- then what are we supposed to do Lisa ? What am I supposed to do ? I know he hurt me, but I did the same, paanch saal tak marne ka natak kiya, Kartik ko apne bacche se dur rakha. I have made a mess, and I don't know how to fix it. Hamare beech bahut zyada doori aa gayi hai, Kartik mujhse nafrat karta hai, aur agar main uski jagah hoti, toh shayad main bhi yahi karti. I think it's best for both of us to just maintain this distance between ourselves.

Lisa looked at Naira for a moment.

Lisa :- Tina, in all the years I've known you, i don't think I have ever met a person who is as strong as you. How hard you work for Kairav, how you take care of him, to provide him everything, to give him the best. I respect you from the bottom of my heart, but there's one habit of yours, which I really don't like.

Naira looked at Lisa questioningly.

Lisa :- you have a habit of taking decisions for others without even consulting them, without even taking their thoughts, their choices into consideration. You shouldn't do that Tina, not with anyone. You can make a decision, but for yourself not for others. And don't mind me saying this but main sure hoon tumne apne past mein bhi kuch aise decisions liye hai, jinke baare mein tumhe Kartik ko batana chahiye tha, lekin tumne nahi bataya, and I am damn sure, ki har baar tumhare iss decision ne tumhare liye sirf problem hi create Kari hongi.

Naira was quiet.

Lisa :- how do you know ki Kartik hates you, kya usne tumhe aisa kuch bola ? He is upset with you and he has every right to be. Kairav tumhe Bina bataye jab ghar se bhaaga tha toh tumhe bahut takleef Hui thi, thodi der ke liye hi sahi, you were restless, you were out of control, Kairav ki chinta ne tumhe pagal kar diya tha, now just imagine tum apna ghar chod ke aayi, you faked your death, whatever the reason might have been, just imagine the pain Kartik and your entire family must have gone through.

Naira looked stunned at Lisa's words.

Lisa :- aur jab Kairav tumhe Mila toh tumne ussey daant bhi lagayi thi, in the same way, do you really think he'll suddenly be able to accept your return, as if nothing had happened ? And Kya tumne Kartik se pucha, what does he want ? Tum dono ne shaanti se abhi tak baith kar ek baar bhi ye baat ki, ki how you guys want to take this forward ? By your silence, i know the answer. Look Tina, I want the best for you, and it's not gonna happen until you guys talk. I am not asking you to forgive him, I know he hurt you badly, but at least try to find a middle ground.

Naira looked down :- i know Lisa, it's just...... I am scared Lisa. Wahi baatein vaapas repeat karne mein, agar phir se kuch galat ho gaya.........

Naira trailed off. It was so much easier to go on like nothing had happened, so they can move on and co parent Kairav and be civil with each other.

Naira :- I want to talk to Kartik, but I am terrified of the past repeating itself.

Lisa :- i know it's scary and I don't blame you, but you have to start by taking one step at a time. Jab tak baat nahi karoge, tab tak koi solution kaise niklega. Tumhe kaise pata chalega ki Kartik ke mann mein kya hai ? Aur tum khud Kartik ko unn sab ka kaise ehsaas karaogi, jo tumne saha.

Naira was quiet for a moment.

Lisa :- Naira, I am not saying, ki you jump into a relationship with him. I am just saying that talking and figuring things out will be good for both of you.

Naira :- it's not easy Lisa, especially with Kairav in the picture. He needs stability in his life.

Lisa :- aur jo tumhare aur kartik ke beech abhi silent match chal raha hai, tumhe really lagta hai ki vo stable hai ?

Naira almost laughed at Lisa's words.

Naira :- it doesn't matter Lisa, Kartik mughe kabhi maaf nahi karega.

Lisa :- I think uska faisla tumhe Kartik par chod dena chahiye. Aur tumne khud bhi toh aaj tak Kartik ko maaf nahi Kiya hai.

Naira sighed :- god, this is such a mess.

Lisa :- i know, but if you talk to him, at least you'll take the first step in sorting it all out.

Flashback End :-

Lisa's words were still ringing in Naira's mind. She wanted to refute those words, but in her heart she knew, everything Lisa had said was right.

Naira also knew that she would have to initiate the talk between her and Kartik. Lisa had kept her updated on Kartik's condition and considering his present mental health, Kartik would never start any conversation unless it was something absolutely necessary.

Naira suddenly sneezed. She had been standing under the cold shower for too long. She turned it off. Naira felt her nose itching slightly.

Oh no!!!!

The talk would happen later, she knew what was going to happen before that. Her itching nose was always the first symptom she would get before catching the cold.

Naira was irritated. Why couldn't she get a break ??? Murphy's law was hitting her again. So many days had gone by, when she had completely ignored Kartik, and now when she had finally made up her mind to have a conversation with him, she was getting a cold.

Naira sneezed again. And again. All the thoughts of conversation left her mind as the itching in her nose increased. Talk can happen later, first she needed to get better.
