CHAPTER-5 

NO-ONE'S POV (CONT...D)

Dhruv : So do recognize me, beautiful??

Tani : Ofcourse Handsome.

Dhruv : You know about this proposal before coming here or just now....

Tani : I knew about it before hand.

Dhruv : Then I must know what made you visit me because as far as I know you and Abhishek refused a big number of proposals for you.

Tani : You know about it. But what can I say, you are THE DHRUV VYAS

Dhruv chuckled at her answer. He was amused to hear his name the second time in a span of few hours : Well, I'm for who I'm. So now tell me the reason behind your visit.

Tani : I still remember the day we met at the airport when you were crying for your sister's departure. Now I know how beautiful and delicate little flower she is that she has the entire Vyas family around her finger.

A slight smile played on Dhruv's lips at the mention of his sister, which didn't went unnoticed by Tani.

Dhruv : Well my sister is special and that's because I love her so much. See there, she is waiting for us.......

Tani looked where Dhruv was pointing and was indeed shocked to see her smiling their way. She waved the cute little bundle of joy who the man in front of called his sister and looked back at him, expecting for him to continue.

'She was 18 and I was 21, when she started to have this weird dream..................

A ground is shown where a girl in her late thirty's and a man in his early forty's are held by some dangerous men. They argue about something and then a man named Aman kills the girl and then the boy brutally and she wakes up sweating profusely.

She always use to come to my room back then when she had dream this dream and then use to sleep holding me tightly. Yesterday she had another dream and came to me to seek comfort.

What I'm trying to say is Mom & Dad don't know about her condition. From 21 I was working with Dad and had my salary, so I used to pay for her treatment. Then she started doing part-time job and then covered her all treatments. Then last year for higher studies she went to Melbourne where I couldn't comfort her so I told her to consult a doctor over there and continue the treatment. But yesterday due to jet-lag and preparations she forgot to take her medicines and the condition worsens. Now too she has fever and Dad is going to hang me for this.......

Maithili is my first priority and always will be. Whenever she needs me, I'll be there for her even if it means over you or anyone. Because of this, I didn't want to marry but looking at my family I had to think about it and she convinced me on the word that my wife would help me in caring for her...........'

So you Tani, are you ready to accept me as your husband knowing that you would be his second priority??? Eventually you would become first when I find her a suitable groom but till then.......

"Dhruv, I do understand your feelings and I'm okay with it. I will wait for you ...............

Let's go someone is waiting for us.

"You carry on and I'll call this idiot friend of mine who left with just a message........."

ABHI'S RESIDENCE

'RING' RING' RING' 

Shaila, its Tani's call. She might have known of his absence. Just let the girl know he is home and safe.

"But he isn't conscious. We should inform her." Abhi's Mom argued with her husband.

Now is not the time, we will let her know later.

"Hello Beta..... Abhi just now came and went in his room. Don't know what happened but he was shouting on someone from his office. I guess there is an emergency."

'It's okay aunty. Tell that idiot I'll call him later at night.'

"Okay Beta."

He should be up till then.

And both left Abhi to fight his dreams all alone........

MAITHILI'S RESIDENCE

Maithili : So Bhai, what's the decision.......

Dhruv : You very well know, final decision is yours.........

Maithili turned towards Tani and what she said shocked both Dhruv and Tani..........

Maithili : What can I expect from the girl who 24*7 has a crush on my brother or who fell in love with him the first sight she saw him...........

Tani closed her mouth with her hands and dragged her to a corner.

Tani : Was that necessary to say in front of him?????

Maithili : Why is someone shy?...

Dhruv : Ladies, I'm here too and well Tani I too know about your little search on my family. Being the protector of my family, I very well know who does what...........

Tani : Okay, I agree I have a crush on you Dhruv and it's my yes for this proposal.

Dhruv : Maithili............

Maithili : Yes...... Bhai

Dhruv : Let's inform others..........

No need Beta, Maithili called us already and we are happy for this proposal.

Now we should start with the preparations for the wedding, said Adhiraj to the others.

Yes and we should have the wedding before my princess leaves the country, added Adhiraj and pulled his daughter in for a hug. He sensed her warm body and glared at Dhruv who nodded his head guiltily.

And they left..............

Adhiraj : Dhruv Vyas inside now..........

Dhruv : Yes Dad.........

Maithili : But Dad, I'm fine.

Adhiraj glared at her and she pulled away back to her house........

Adhiraj : Mom Dad you guys rest, till then I will look at this young man's irresponsible behavior.

Gayatri : Maithili, come here.

(She checked her fever and took her to her room and made her sleep.)

Dhruv : Dad, Maithili was had fever in early morning and I gave her medicine and .................

Adhiraj : Enough, young man. She is my daughter...... My heart.... If anything happens to her, son or not you are dead. I'm capable of taking care of her and you could have come to wake us up.

Dhruv :  She is my sister too Dad. I'll always care for her.

Adhiraj : Dhruv, you don't know what having a daughter means..........

She is just another child in the household but for a father she is his lifeline. Her one smile erases all your stress. Her childishness makes us to protect her from everyone. If you would ask, whom I love more your mother or sister. I would say my daughter Maithili and the wonderful woman who gave her to me. You should care for her more because your mother loves both of you the same and is very frightened on thinking what I must be doing to you.

Dhruv, both my girls are my pride, if anyone is not by my side get ready to see the worst of me and with that Adhiraj left to Maithili's room.

MAITHILI'S ROOM

Adhiraj entered the room to see his both women curled on the bed with Maithili's head in Gayatri's lap and Gayatri patting her head dozing off slightly. He sensed Dhruv's presence behind and said,

"To see them happy and content, I can do anything in my power. I'm not asking you to do the same but at least do this with your family."

'My first family is you guys and then others. I'll care for them more than you Dad.'

Adhiraj chuckled at his son's predicament and sat beside his girls and patted the space beside him for Dhruv. Both got comfortable over the bed and let sleep overtook them............
