CHAPTER-2

ABHISHEK

"It's time you get up Bhai, Mom is soon going to raid your room." mewed Naksh who was trying very hard to wake me. Well yesterday I was quite occupied with a couple of meetings and to top that I skipped my lunch and that just made me grumpy so I might or might not have flipped on my employees and here I'm in my bed till noon. 

"Did you forget that you were supposed to visit Tani dii" and a shock might have passed through my body bcoz I bolted up from my slumber and gazed at my lil brother who was staring with amuzement.

"Shit.... I totally forgot about that... How come you are telling me like now , at 12 when you could have woke me by 8 or 9..." I whisper yelled at Naksh.

"Bhai, you returned by some 1 at night and I heard that you almost flipped on all staff so I let you sleep in and now both our asses are to be blazed on fire. Because Mom is angry at you....." My cute little brother chuckled...

"Okay, I will be down in a few minutes", I shouted at him making my way to the restroom.

"You better be and yeah don't expect me to be there for you. I'm off to office and you are off for a day. I guess Tani Di needs you more today and that's the reason Mom is hyper....." He ran all the way down yelling all the others a goodbye and he was out in a spur.

Well, Tani is one of my college friends but I have this weird feeling that I know this name from God knows where but I do get hyper when someone say's that name in a not so decent way....      And not to forget that I get a bit protective of her or should I blame the name but the name has deep down meaning in my life and I'm not able to put a finger on it. 

"Abhi, are you still in shower. Won't mind to sleep over there......" shouted my Mom.

Well I guess that's my cue to leave.

"Mom" I whispered when I was almost near the kitchen door.

"Don't explain. First of all I don't understand why you won't marry to Tani and secondly when her mother is searching her proposals you always end up in rejecting them. I'm not getting anything here."

Here goes the reason of explaining Mom the truth....

"Mama, she is like a sister to me and all those proposals are not worth of her. She needs a guy who supports her, loves her and cherishes her the way Uncle and Aunty do. And Mom it's not that I like her, it's just her name that bothers me. I don't know how to explain but the name just intrigues me. I don't know what but it just gets the best out of me." I explained finally gathering all my thoughts about Tani.

"Abhi, it's ok. I don't know what got into me and I said all that. But if you care her as a sister than I'm okay to have another daughter in the form of Tani. But what about you, aren't you tired living alone for 29 years."

"Mom, it's not funny to tease your son with his age. And I don't want to marry because I have so much work, and I might not have time for her and.......

"Okay, okay I got that. You hurry up to Tani's place and after that fill-in me with the details..."

"okay mam, and my breakfast" I asked her hopefully.

"I guess you should hurry to lunch over there or else you won't get that tooo"

"Mom...." I groaned but never the left in my BMW. I hope that Tani doesn't kill me for being so late.

 "Tani......." I sang as i entered her house and all her family was seated for lunch.

"Abhi, so finally you got time for your friend" Tani greeted me with a glare.

"Leave her and sit for lunch and then I have an amazing proposal that neither you nor Tani can reject." chirped Aunty like a teenager. We as-usual laughed but Tani just scoffed. I guess she is too much angry at me.

After lunch Aunty took me by my hand and seated me on the couch and handed me an envelope. On opening it, I got the shock of the millenium, the boy in the picture was really good-looking and devilishly handsome. I guess finally I was going to meet someone of my taste. By the choice of his outfit, I could tell he is really good at this. And not to forget he is of the same age as mine... I guess that i could like him for Tani so

"Aunty, can you just set up a meeting with his family. I have a vibe that they could really hit it off." I replied happily and forwarded the pic to Tani.

"Thank God, finally you approve of something. The boy wasn't so into marriage but I have heard that his sister somehow convinced him. He is from a well cultured family and they own a whole business unit like us."

"Tani...... Tani........" I called her twice but she was deeply staring his photo and then she suddenly bolted to her room leaving us all baffled.

"Isse, kya hua. Abhi toh thik thi." said her Mom.

"Koi nai Pari, sharma rhi hogi. Abhi tum jaa kar dekho" said her Dad.

I immediately moved to get her but was shocked to see her staring at her laptop screen immensely. It's so not like her. When I was behind her, I tried to peep and I got the shock of her stalking Dhruv Vyas's profile. She was soo into it that she didn't saw me coming in or being behind her. It was then when I sighed she looked at me and was startled.

"Abhi, you know I might be having this crush on him when I saw him at airport during last summers. He was you know seeing off his sister and was pretty much crying to let stay in another country. He was not letting her go as his life depended on her. And then when she finally left, he composed his behavior and put on his shades and turned to me, to see I was already looking at him. And you know what he said, "I love my sister and that's why I cried and don't you dare think that I'm weak or .... never-mind......" "Yeah... yeah....." he bodyguards replied and he just yelled a shut-up to them and made his way out. That was shock would be an understatement but he just touched my heart. Means that he was so caring and at the same time so rude that I guess I just liked it......."

"That explains the takeoff. And it's that sister of his who convinced him  for marrying......"

"That means I just have to thank her......."Tani chirped happily.

I don't know why but I felt some uneasiness settle deep in me. Why his sister intrigued me..... And it's the same feeling I get with Tani's name. Does that mean this is all related. I have a weird doubt but I feel that I should look forward on meeting her.
