theos pov:
It has already been two weeks since 6th year started, I can't say I have been having the best time.
It's just like every other year, me, Draco, Blaise, Pansy and Daphne.
I met all of them my first year, that's when we formed this "group" as some might call it.
Draco and Pansy have been dating since last year, I don't know how they are still together, they honestly have been fighting every day but somehow always manage to makeup by the end of the day.
Me and Daphne have had sex a few times, nothing serious though, even though she did have feelings for me for a long time, I just don't see her that way.
Every year it's the same thing, it has started getting boring.
"Mate did you hear?" Blaises words interrupted my thinking. I turned to face him.
We were having dinner in the Great Hall.
"Hear about what?"
"Supposedly two new students will join us this year" Pansy mentioned.
"What like 1st years?" I curiously asked.
"My father told me about it, apparently a boy and a girl our age, they come for a very powerful family or something. He told me to be friends with them because he had business with their father, I seem to have forgotten his name" Draco explained.
"It has already been two weeks since school started, are you sure they are letting new students in?" I asked, this could be just a rumor.
"That's just what I've heard" Draco said shrugging his shoulders.
"I hope the guy is hot" Daphne said.
"Don't get your hopes up Greengrass, it could just be a rumor" I said, looking down at my plate since the food had not appeared yet.
Suddenly, the room started getting quiet, I didn't know why until I saw Dumbledoor standing up from his seat, now no student was talking, everyone turned to look at him.
"Before we begin our meal, I am pleased to announce that there are going to be two new students joining us this year-" before he could finish his sentence, the doors to the great hall opened.
A boy and a girl walked in, who looked very alike, I assumed they were siblings, they started slowly walking beside each other towards Dumbleboor.
"Welcome Mattheo and Josephine Riddle"
No way.
The moment Dumbledoor spoke, everyone started whispering. Everybody knew who their last name was after.
"Riddle? As in-" Blaise whispered.
"The dark Lord" I said, not taking my eyes off of the students that walked in, especially the girl.
She was beautiful, like stunningly beautiful. Not the beauty standard, she contained a different type of beauty, a dark beauty. She looked just like a mystery.
They both walked in confidently, not paying attention to the whispers they were getting.
While walking past, Josephine locked eyes with me for a split second, enough to get my heart beating faster.
Both students finally reached their way and stood beside Dumbledoor.
"Both students have already been sorted into Slytherin, I trust you will all make them feel welcome." He said before taking a seat back into his chair.
No one was surprised that they were in Slytherin. They were already wearing the Slytherin uniform anyway.
The feast appeared infront of us, but I didn't bother looking at it. I was still looking at the girl.
The siblings made their way to where we were sitting.
"Malfloy right?" Mattheo spoke while taking a seat next to Draco, with his sister sitting beside him.
I just assumed that they might know eachother from their fathers or something, since Dracos father is a death eater.
"Draco Malfloy" Draco said.
"Right. And the rest of you?" Mattheo curiously asked
"This is Pansy, Daphne, Blaise and Theo" Draco said again.
"Nice to meet all of you" Josephine spoke, looking directly at me. I tried to pretend like her gaze did not affect me, by giving her a small smile, which she returned.
"So how come you didn't transfer on the first day?" Daphne asked, trying to make conversation.
"We were busy" Mattheo said, obvious that he wanted to drop the subject.
For the rest of dinner, we all kept getting to know the sibling, which to no ones surprise, turned out to be twins. What did surprise me though, is that they were very friendly, unlike what I had expected.
Josephine mostly made conversation with the girls, who agreed to show her to her dorm after dinner.
Everyone from the other tables kept talking about the Riddles, not hiding their stares, but they didn't seem to mind.
When dinner was over, we all walked towards the Slytherin common room, where we all sat at the couches, continuing our conversation.
It was obvious that Daphne was flirting with Mattheo, not that I care obviously but if he wasn't flirting back, she would have looked desperate.
Josephine was mostly talking with Pansy and Blaise, mostly Blaise actually but they weren't flirting, they seemed to connect on a friendship level.
"You guys should know that there's a party on friday, Slytherin is hosting" Pansy said.
"Oh that's fun!" Josephine replied.
They all continued to speak, I wasn't much in a talkative mood, so I excused myself and walked to the Astronomy tower to have a smoke.
Smoking has become sort of a habit for me over the summer holidays, especially being stuck at home.
After a few minutes, I heard someone approaching, which was odd since no one usually comes up here at night.
I was happy to see it was Josephine.
"Hey" she said, taking a seat next to me. "You got another one of those?" she asked, motioning to the cigarettes.
"You smoke?" I ask, surprised.
"Why else would I be asking you for a cigarette?" she replied jokingly.
"Sorry I just- I didn't except it" I said, before handing her a cigarette and a lighter.
"Is this your spot then?" She asked, taking a long drag for the cigarette.
I hate to admit but seeing her smoking made her even hotter.
"You could say that." I replied.
I wanted to ask her so many questions, she was like a mystery to me.
"Why are you up here?" I asked curiously.
"I got tired of the group to be honest" she said, looking up at the stars.
"Yea they're a bit much some times" I said, still looking at her.
A few minutes of silence passed, but it wasn't an awkward silence, it was kind of comfortable.
"What is it that you wanna ask?" She said, looking into my eyes.
"Why assume that I wanna ask anything?"
"I can tell Theo"
The way she said my name made my heart skip a beat.
I had so many questions, so many of them.
"Why did you transfer here right now?"
She took a long drag from her cigarette before replying.
"My father didn't want us going to school, he thought it would be better if he taught us stuff himself. After a while he got busier and busier so he decided to just send us here" she answered honestly.
It was obvious by the tone in her voice, that she didn't quite like talking about her father, so I decided not to push it.
"Wanna head back? It's almost curfew" I said, even though I didn't want this moment to stop.
She nodded before putting out her cigarette and standing up.
We walked to the common room, where everyone was still sitting where we had left them. The girls took Josephine to her dorm, no idea why, so it was just me, Draco, Blaise and Mattheo.
josephines pov:
The girls took me all the way to Daphnes dorm, when we walked in, I saw it was organized, like very organized. We sat on her couch.
"What were you off doing with Theo?" Pansy curiously asked.
"We were just talking" I answered honestly.
"Do you like him?"
"I haven't even known him for a full day!"
"Still!" Pansy said, laughing a bit.
"I have to admit he's hot" I answered honestly.
"You guys would be cute together" Daphne said, I couldn't quite realize if she was lying or not, her voice did hide some sort of smugness behind it.
"I don't think so"
"You definitely would, Daphne what about you and Mattheo?" Pansy asked.
"What about it?" Daphne said, turning visibly red.
"You guys seemed to be flirting, oh sorry if this is weird to talk about, you know since you are twins and everything" Pansy said, looking at me apologetically.
"No worries, I can ask him about you if you want" I told Daphne. To be honest she does seem like someone my brother would go for.
"You would do that?" Daphne said, the smugness in her voice now gone.
"Of course" I said giving her a smile.
"You're the best" Daphne smiled at me, a real genuine smile, I didn't think she would have it in her.
"Just so you know, Theo is a bit of a ladies man. He has like 200 girls wanting to be with him"
"Like that would be an issue" I joked, making the other girls laugh.
Me and the girls kept talking, mostly about guys but other things too, until I told them I have to talk to my brother, so I told them goodnight and left.
I walked back into the common room, since that's what connected the boys and girls dormitories, but to my surprise, he was sitting there talking with Theo, even though it was now really late.
They seemed to be bonding, my brother isn't usually a guy that bond with a lot of people, but I guess this was different.
"Hey guys" I said when I approached them, Theo turned around and looked me up and down, a smirk on his face.
"Theo do you mind if I have a word with my brother?"
"Of course not" he said, standing up from the couch "goodnight then" he said walking past me, our arms brushing together sent a little tingle down my body.
I sat where he was previously sitting, next to Matt, and waited for him to fully leave the common room. When he left it was empty, just me and Mattheo.
"What do you think about them?" He asked me.
"They seem nice, I don't know I like them"
"What about Theo?" Mattheo asked, in a protective tone.
He had always been protective over me.
"Don't get all overprotective on me, what about Daphne then?"
"What about her?" he asked, leaning back on the couch.
"I'm pretty sure she likes you" I said.
"Feelings mutual then"
"It's weird isn't it? Being 16 and going for the first time in school?"
Me and Matt were always close, it was just us anyway. We never went to school, we were each others best friends in some sort of way.
"Yea I guess you could say it's weird, bet it will be easy though, I'm pretty sure Dad has already taught us everything"
"Yea you're right, it sucks though doesn't it? We only saw him when he wanted to teach us stuff, he was basically never around"
"Easy for you to say, you were always his favorite"
"Probably because I remind him of Mom"
It was true.
My father and my mother met in Hogwards. I don't know what she saw in him, he is cruel, deeply cruel. But she was the only person he truly loved, I never knew he could be capable of loving someone.
He cherished her like she was a prized possession. She died when me and Matt were 10. He completely shut down after that. He lost the only person who excused his actions and loved him unconditionally.
He was never the same after that, I never saw any emotion come from him, ever, even when he was with my mom, however he became a different person.
My mom was the kindest woman I had ever met, truly. She never said a bad word about anyone, her heart was full of love to give. She was murdered, we still don't know from who, but I remember clearly my father sitting over my dead mothers body when she died, promising that he will get revenge from her, he didn't even shed a tear.
That's when he started teaching me and Matt everything he knows, from normal to dark magic. He wanted us to be powerful. But it was always obvious that he preferred me to Matt.
He always took his anger out on him, always, that's why he has some scars on his face. My father never hurt me though, never.
I always felt horrible about the way he treated Matt, but there was nothing I could do, I was completely powerless. I never failed to remind Matt that I would always be there for him, even when I cleaned up his wounds.
"Yea thats true, I love you Jo, I should head to bed"
"Love you Matt, see you in the morning" I said, giving him a tight hug. "You know I'm always here right?"
"You never fail to remind me" he joked.
