Straw Hats: Caught Red-Handed?

So I just thought of this. You guys know how Blackbeard was there in Mock Town with Luffy and everyone? Well, since I never touched on that, I'm just gonna say Raya never saw him, and Luffy didn't know who he was. She never saw his face or heard him even when they went up the Knock Up Stream, cause she was, I don't know, doing stuff. Thought I'd clear that up if anyone ever thought about it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Raya's POV
"Thanks for doing this, Nami," I say, looking at her reflection in the mirror. She's behind me, expertly cutting my hair to what she considers to be a fashionable 'do. "I'm hopeless with haircuts. I haven't touched my hair with scissors in a year because the last time I did... Well it wasn't very pretty."
"It's no problem, Raya," she says. Her hand falls away, and she places the scissors on the sink in front of us. She did a good job with my hair. It's as thick and "shaggy" (as I call it) as ever, but it's styled to look shaggy this time. It only reaches a little past my chin, and my bangs still flop over my eyes (because I was afraid she'd stab me by accident and then I'd be blind) but it's better. I've never particularly liked short hair, but it doesn't look awful on me.
My real problem is Nami. She's been pretty subdued since I got back. Well, I'll assume she's been like this since the Usopp incident I wasn't here for. I don't know what to say to her, or anyone besides Zoro, really. Chopper's been crying for the last hour, and nothing anyone says calms him down. Sanji's almost indifferent to the matter at this point. He cares but... I think he's trying to look strong for Nami's (and apparently my) sake. And not knowing where Robin is just makes everything infinitely worse for all of us.
Luffy hasn't left his hammock in so long, continuing to feign sleep. I'm so worried for him. Usopp is his (as well as our) nakama; no matter the outcome, this fight is going to rip these two apart.
I sigh when Nami leaves the room, letting out all my frustrated emotions in a ragged breath. This was not what I wanted. In all my time as a Straw Hat, I've been terrified of losing my nakama. To Mihawk, to Marines, Enel or to Foxy. And here's Usopp, knowing perfectly well how I react to crew mates leaving, choosing to quit the crew because he's upset with a decision Luffy made.
He's less mature than Luffy ever was.
There's shouting outside, someone announcing the time. Ten o'clock. This is the time Usopp said he'd be back for the duel. I have never hated a word more in my life. I gather my resolve and stand. I will not beg for Usopp to come back. He's made his asinine choice, and we all have to live with it.
I follow the sound of worried voices out onto deck and quickly jump down the stairs, taking them two at a time, so that I can stand beside my nakama at the railing. Luffy is already out on shore, arms across his chest, face set grimly.
"Don't come down, all of you!" he orders with a quick look in our direction. I swallow thickly, but make no move to disobey.
"He's here!!"
"Usopp!!"
Usopp appears in the distance, some twenty or so feet away from my captain. No longer our. He stands with his feet apart, hands fisted at his sides. The mist blowing across the shore lends an eerie vibe to the already unbearable atmosphere of the impending fight.
"You look determined but.... I hope you don't regret your decision later," Luffy says. "This is what you want!"
"Stop pretending and just come get me!" Usopp counters. "I'll beat you!"
I wince at the sight of him. He's covered in bandages, though it isn't as severe as his injuries from Alabasta. But it's obvious he isn't in top condition. How he hopes to beat Luffy, when he knows exactly what the Rubber Man is capable of, is beyond me.
"Can't we stop them?" Chopper asks uneasily. "Usopp is hurt really bad!"
"Go inside if you can't watch," Zoro suggests without taking his eyes off the two participants in this battle.
I take advantage of Zoro's resoluteness and lean against him, looking for support. He looks at me for a moment, then tugs me closer and presses me back against his chest. I feel him wrap his arms around me, and I close my eyes for a brief moment. Zoro's only doing this because he knows how distraught I am on the inside over all this. He isn't much of a touchy-touchy person, and I'm ok with that. But right now, I'm glad he's disregarding his usual stoicness for my sake.
"Don't be too surprised when I tell you this, but..." Usopp starts. "I HAVE 80,000 FOLLOWERS WAITING FOR MY SIGNAL!! SURRENDER NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DIE!!"
"Oh my God~~~!! 80,000 PEOPLE?!"
"You should go inside," Zoro and I tell the hysterical Chopper, both of us sweat dropping at his performance.
"I'm pretty sure you're just lying, Usopp!" Luffy shouts back.
"Then eat Usopp Spell! Gigantic razor blades between each and every tooth in your mouth!!!"
"Gyaaaaa!"
"Go inside already, Chopper!" I snap irritably.
Third Person POV
Luffy wants to end this as quickly as possible. It hurts too much to fight his nakama, and the battle hasn't even begun.
Luffy goes to deliver a powerful Gum-Gum Pistol punch, but he stops short when he sees collapse to the ground, a hand thrown over his mouth as though he's coughing up blood. Luffy starts and rushes forward, wanting to help his friend. But Usopp's read for him.
"Certain Death, Ketchup Star!" he announces, holding up one red-stained hand to show it's anything but blood running through his fingers. "It's foolish to pity your enemy and leave yourself vulnerable!" He pulls something from his satchel. "Flash Dial!" A brilliant flash lights up the area, blinding Luffy instantaneously and giving Usopp the chance he needs.
"Certain Death, Egg Star! Star!" He bombards Luffy with eggs, the gooey insides striking at the young captain's eyes, and greatly upsetting his nose.
"Ah! So smelly!" he complains, wiping futiley at the mess covering his face. "How old are these things?! Stupid! Get serious already!!"
"You think this is stupid? Soon, Luffy, you won't think so!!"
"I think it's stupid," Raya grumbles. "He's as sneaky as Foxy! Damn cowardly sniper..." She goes on to utter a slew of curses that don't necessarily pertain to the situation. But she's upset and frustrated, and Usopp provides a great outlet for her.
"This is my fighting style!" Usopp cries. "By the way, Luffy, don't open your mouth so wide! You may get burned!" He shoots a Tabasco Star straight into Luffy's mouth, causing the poor boy to choke and puff a cloud of flames into the darkening sky. He's already experienced the hot sauce Usopp uses in his attack, and knows just how painful it is.
"Also, when you're falling down, you should look out.... Beneath you!"
Startled by Usopp's last assault, Luffy falls backwards as the fire peters out, only to land flat out on a bed of caltrops that dig into his exposed flesh with an underrated fierceness. Blood spurts from his new wounds, and although they aren't serious, they burn like hell, Rubber Man or no.
"Luffy!! I'm going to beat you and get the Going Merry, and I don't care how I do it!!" the sniper vows, fist held high in the air.
Just as Luffy manages to get to his feet, complaining of smells and spice, he's once again attacked by Usopp and his slingshot, this time in the form of shuriken. He's just barely able to dodge, pulling his neck away in time to avoid having it slit open by the sharpened throwing stars. And while he remains unharmed as he drops back to ground, Usopp's confidence doesn't fade.
Smoke starts to surround Luffy. Unbeknownst to him, it comes from a Dial set up by Usopp. As Luffy notices the strange smoke around him, Usopp holds out his slingshot dramatically, pointing it at the oblivious captain.
"Heh... heh...!! It's a Breeze Dial!!" he says. "I used the rotten egg to stop you from smelling it.... while I surrounded you with gas!!"
"He wouldn't...." Raya breathes.
"Gas!" Sanji gasps.
"He's going to...."
"No hard feelings!" Usopp fires one of his Flame Stars right at Luffy's chests, igniting the plethora of gas in the air around him, and setting off one hell of an explosion that seems to stretch for miles. Both smoke and fire are shot into the air, and the force of the blast blows back the waves and rocks the tiny Merry.
"What an explosion!" Zoro comments.
"Don't sound so impressed!" Raya snaps. Her words are muffled, as she's turned to Zoro's chest (by his own insistence) to block the searing light of the explosion from her eyes. But he hears her well enough, even over the blast.
"Luffy! Usopp!" Nami cries, straining to catch sight of her captain and ex-sniper through the veil of smoke that now separates them. Luffy doesn't responsd, but he's there, lying flat on his back at the epicenter of the explosion. He is bloody and worn, but conscious, and he stares soberly up at the night sky.
Usopp is backed against a large rock on the shore, panting from his own battle with the detonation he set off. Memories of his time with the crew, and memories of Merry, flash through his mind, strengthening his resolve to win.
The smoke starts to clear, but not enough for the remaining Straw Hats to see either their captain or Usopp.
"I really don't like this," Nami murmurs.
"Luffy~~~!" Chopper wails. "Usopp~~~!!!"
No Straw Hat is unaffected by this fight, whether they'll admit to it or not. They are all anxiously awaiting the outcome, hoping that their friends don't give their lives for something as ridiculous as this.
The two fighters remain unmoving, until Usopp stands, staring in hopes of his gaze penetrating the thick smoke left behind after the fire. He digs around in his pack and produces a shot, which he loads into his sling, ready to fire. "I know... you won't get.... knocked out so easily.... Luffy!" he pants. His face grim, he aims for a shadowy figure standing among the smoke and lets loose an explosive star. But Luffy is ready this time, countering with his own Gum-Gum Gatling. Though even his mighty fists fall to the explosion that comes from being in contact with Usopp's star, and the boy is thrown back without his attack landing on Usopp even once.
"Triple Flame Star!" Usopp shouts, already sending out another barrage of attacks. Luffy rolls out of the way, dodging. When he comes to his feet, he launches a punch to Usopp's face that he just isn't prepared for, and the sniper is sent sprawling.
Luffy rushes forward as he throws back both arms, before shooting them forward, on collision with Usopp's chest. But the sniper blocks with one hand that Raya knows well.
"It's a Dial," he pants. "Thanks... for the impact."
Before Luffy can move, Usopp closes the small distance between them and presses his Impact Dial to Luffy's face.
"IMPACT!"
The blast sends both boys flying in opposite directions. Blood sprays from Luffy as he flies, dirtying the air even further.
"CAP'N!!" Raya shouts desperately. "You bastard Usopp!! Are you really trying to kill him?!!"
Usopp falls back, landing on his feet. He holds his arm with the other hand, knowing the damage using an Impact Dial does to the one firing it. But he pushes that aside for the moment. "Take that dammit!"
However, to the shock of everyone watching (and or listening; the smoke is still rather thick) Luffy lands on his feet also, despite the massive force behind the last assault. He stands tall and determined while Usopp narrows his eyes at the scene.
Memories flash through both their minds, of happier times, as Luffy throws back on fist, stretching it to its max. Everyone waits with bated breath. Usopp can't move, the strength of the Impact Dial having affected more severely than he would have liked.
"Gum-Gum Pistol!"
Luffy's fist slams into Usopp's stomach at close range. His eyes bug from his head as blood flies from his parted lips. His insides scream in pain, and the shouts of his nakama fade to dull buzzing. His body slumps forward when Luffy pulls back his fist, and he crashes to the ground in a bloody, battered heap. After a moment, he falls over onto his side and lays there, unmoving.
"....It's decided then," Zoro says. The girl in his arms looks down, bangs falling in front of her eyes as an escape from the scene in front of her. Her tears are nonexistent, but only because none of this comes as a shock to her. She's already accepted what was going on, even if her fellow Straw Hats didn't.
"This was all so pointless," she says softly, reaching up to hold her head in one hand.
Luffy falls to his knees some feet away from Usopp. He grips one burned wrist with an equally burnt hand, looking over the extent of his injuries. "You stupid asshole!" he hisses. "There was no way that you would have won!!"
No answer comes from the beaten Usopp, and Luffy sighs after another moment. He picks himself up and walks away, grabbing his hat when he passes to plop it back in its rightful place atop his head of mangled black hair.
"Do whatever you want with Going Merry," he says as he walks away, gripping his hat with one hand. "We'll get a new ship.... and we'll go on to the seas ahead!! Goodbye Usopp.... It's been fun...."
Chopper attempts to jump from the railing and attend to Usopp, but Sanji drags him back by the bag slung onto his back. "Hey!! Stop Chopper!" he shouts when the reindeer doctor protests and struggles to get away.
"Why!! He was in pieces to start with and got beaten up like that.....!"
"This is not just a fight or a game!!"
"So what?!" he demands. "I'm a doctor!! Let me at least look at his wounds!!"
Sanji pushes Chopper, now in Heavy Point, against the railing, forcing him to stay still. The cook leans closer and gives Chopper as serious a look as he can muster. "He lost a duel and then was pitied," he says lowly. "Think about how he must feel right now!! Think about how this kind of kindness pains the 'loser'!! He entered this fight knowing what might happen!!"
Raya looks away from Chopper and Sanji, not wanting to see the tears falling down the doctor's cheeks. She sees her captain approaching the ship, and her heart breaks at the tortured look on his face.
"Heavy...!!" they hear him hiss through gritted teeth.
Zoro stares ahead, not focusing on his captain, nor his crew mates. Not even on Raya, who he feels is too weak to be let go at the moment. He does, however, tighten his arms around her, pressing her back further against his hard chest. Still, she says nothing.
"That's what a captain is," he says after a short pause, startling the others. With the exception of Raya. "Don't hesitate. If you can't be decisive, who can we believe in?!" He looks down at the forlorn girl he holds and she tips her head back to meet his eyes, tears finally pooling in her own. "Let's clear the ship," he says, as Chopper hops off and starts down the dusty shore, probably intent on going to help Usopp.
Luffy clutches at his hat, pulling the brim down over his eyes. Tears stream down his face in glistening waves, snot slipping from his nose. His gritted teeth are the only things keeping his lips from quavering.
"We can't return to this ship ever again."
Raya's POV
I haven't stayed in a hotel for so long.... The last time was with Dad (since Yuba wasn't really a working hotel). He didn't make port often, as Red Force is pretty big and can hold a fair amount of supplies, but we did once or twice, and Dad bought out three whole inns for us to stay in. It was my first time sleeping in a real bed for a while. Even at "home" on Maya, I slept out, sometimes at the dock, others in the forest. I hated being ambushed in my own home in the dead of night, and took to sleeping in unexpected places so I could have some peace before the nightmares woke me.
Last night was my first time in months that I didn't use my hammock, which I've grown so accustomed to. I don't really count my stay in Alubarna. I was unconscious, not asleep, so I didn't really experience sleeping in a soft bed. The bed in the inn we're staying at was soft and warm and perfect for anyone weary of the world.
I missed my hammock.
I didn't sleep at all last night. At one point, Zoro noticed I was still awake and (awkwardly) offered me the chance to share his bed. I offered an even awkwarder smile and accepted. Yet I still didn't sleep. No nightmares plagued me, but I couldn't keep my mind off what had happened. My mind spent the night reeling, from originally finding out about Merry, to meeting Katana, to Usopp and Luffy's fight, and finally to vacating the Going Merry for the last time.
I sigh, feeling the soft ocean breeze of Water 7 lift my hair from my eyes, which I have closed against the morning sun. It's early, yet I know for a fact every Straw Hat it up. Chopper stands beside me at the railing, looking out from the roof of our inn to the streets below where bustling Water 7 citizens move around without a care. Zoro sits against the bell tower, our four swords seated next to him. Luffy is sitting on a nearby building's roof. He stares ahead of him, and I haven't seen him move in more than an hour.
I'm really worried about him.
"There you are."
Sanji appears at the entrance to the roof. He's smoking again, but I don't give a damn anymore. he can do what he likes, it's his health. Unless you're counting second-hand smoke, then we're all probably gonna die of lung cancer. But that's besides the point.
"We paid for rooms and no one's in there," he says as he walks closer. "Guess they can't sleep or something." He looks around as he lazily places his hands in the pockets of his elegant black pants. "Where's Luffy?"
"Over there," I say, lifting a hand to point at where my captain now sits. I think this is his replacement for his Special Seat, otherwise known as Merry's figurehead.
Sanji doesn't comment, and makes his way over to lean back on the railing beside me.
"Where'd you go, Sanji?" Chopper asks curiously.
"I was keeping watch at the peninsula... I though maybe.... Robin-chan would come back." He puffs out a breath of smoke, making sure he's turned away from me when he does so. "Wonder where she went... without saying a word...."
A sigh escapes my lips before I can stop it, and I feel three-fourths of the rest of them turn my way. I just shake my head and go back to staring gloomily at the streetgoers.
"I think I'll search around the streets today," Sani continues. "If anything happens, we'll regroup in the hotel room."
"I'll go too!! To search!!" Chopper offers.
"Ok.... Sure."
"LUFFY!"
The door that leads up here slaps open, and Nami rushes outside, panting. We all snap our heads to her as she keeps shouting. "Big news, guys! Everyone in the city is talking about it! Luffy....! Last night, Icerburg was..... Iceburg was shot in his house!!"
I'm immediately jolted from my stupor as an image of the eccentric-seeming mayor of Water 7 flashes through my mind. One tragedy after the other....
As if on cue, more shouting erupts from below us as dozens of newspapers drift through the air, thrown up by careless hands.
"Extra~~~!! Extra extraaaa!!! The hero of Water 7, Mayor Iceburg, has fallen at the fiendish hands of an assassin!!!"
For some uncomfortable, uneasy reason, the first thing that pops into my head is Robin.
"Ice-ossan was...?!" Luffy seems to be in as much shock as I am. He's turned around enough to see us all, but I avoid eye contact with him. He's hurting so much on the inside, but he won't show. In his eyes, though....
"Yeah, he was shot," Nami confirms, leaning over the railing to speak with Luffy. "He's unconscious right now...."
"Who is that, Nami-swan?" Sanji asks.
I decide to answer for her. "He's the owner of the Galley-La Company here, the famous shipyard," I tell him. "Also mayor of Water 7. He was the guy we talked to the other day about Merry."
"Wow," Sanji murmurs appreciatively. "He must be one important guy."
"It's said to be the greatest catastrophe to ever happen in this city," Nami says.
"That guy...." We all look over at Luffy, who's turned away again to stare out at the expanse of the city. "He's respected by so many people.... I'll go look," he offers, and hops down from his perch to the ground below. Nami tries to stop him, saying she wants to go too, but he doesn't wait, and she dashes back to the door to follow him.
Sanji and Chopper start after her. "Then we'll go to search for Robin-chan. You coming?" he asks, looking at Zoro.
"No," Zoro says after a pause. "I'll wait and see what happens next."
This has to be the vaguest, most confusion answer Sanji's ever received. His face says so. "....Whatever, do what you want, Marimo," he says. He turns to me. "Are you coming, Raya-chan?" he asks eagerly.
I take another look out at the city. Robin's been on my mind for a while. I highly doubt she could get kidnapped easily, and I feel like we would have heard something if that were the case. So I'm not worried exactly, but not knowing where she is sets me on edge. I've lost one too many crew mates already.
"Yeah," I say at last. "Yeah, I'll come. I want to find Robin." With a sigh, I turn away from the view and walk over to Zoro first. I lightly kick his leg with my boot and he looks up at me questioningly. "Don't get lost," I tell him. "I don't need to worry about having to find you too."
"What are you talking about?" he demands, scowling. "It's you guys who are always getting lost. I have to go looking for you."
"Zoro, I..." My voice trails off as I shake my head. There's no getting through to him. He'll never admit he has absolutely no sense of direction. My frown dissolves into a smile with the accepting of that fact, and I lean down to peck his cheek. "Wish us luck." I grab Honoo from where she sits beside him and fit her sheath to my hip, attaching her to belt I borrowed from Nami.
"Yeah, sure," he replies, before closing his eyes, linking his arms behind his head.
"Oi! What do you see in him, Raya-chan?!" Sanji asks hysterically when I join him by the door. I cock my head to the side, considering the question. Zoro has a lot of qualities that I love, but I doubt Sanji would want to hear about them. So I settle on saying, "More than you do, Sanji. More than you do."
"You and Zoro are dating?!" Chopper asks, peeking up at me from beneath the brim of his top hat.
"Hmm? Yeah," I reply, somewhat surprised. Thought Nami would've told everyone by now. She seemed so smug about it, I just assumed she would have went around bragging about how she predicted us getting together. Oh man. That means Robin, Usopp and Luffy don't know. Awkward...
Wait. Usopp doesn't matter anymore anyway.
I swallow thickly and push the thought aside.
"Yay!" Chopper cheers, leaping at me with big, sparkly eyes. I barely keep us from toppling to the ground and manage to catch Chopper in my arms. "Nami was right! You guys like each other!"
"Uh..." This is uncomfortable...
"Let's get going," Sanji interrupts, prying Chopper off me. "We need to find our lovely Robin-chan!" Looking over my shoulder, I give Zoro a final smile and wave, which he lazily returns, before heading down to the ground floor with Chopper and Sanji.
"This is an announcement." The electronic-sounding voice crackles over a system of loudspeakers set up around the city. For a moment, I'm reminded of our time with Foxy Pirates, and an involuntary shudder passes down my spine. Those are memories better kept sealed behind concrete walls six-feet deep.
"The Water 7 forecast department has officially declared an Aqua Laguna warning for the entire island. Repeat: The off--"
People around us start chattering on about the "Aqua Laguna", and how they weren't expecting it to be that time of year already, they were distracted by Iceburg being shot, etc....
And he were are, with no idea what an Aqua Laguna is.
"....What?" Chopper asks, looking around uncertainly.
"Aqua Laguna?" Sanji echoes. They both look to me, and I shrug my shoulders helplessly. I haven't a clue about this thing. Sanji stops a passerby to ask, "Hey, you, what was that announcement about?"
"Huh?" he replies. "Ah, you must be travellers. What a bad time to be here, eh? Aqua Laguna is what you would call a high tide."
"High tide?" Sanji's voice goes tight, eyes widening at the thought. Normally, high tide doesn't sound that bad. But considering the circumstances of this island.
My fears are confirmed when the man answers, "Yeah. Make sure you get to a high place. This town's gonna sink."
Lovely.
"What?! This town is gonna sink?!"
"Well, it's not like it'll happen immediately. Don't worry. It usually happens at around midnight, after the warning. It's like this every year. Take care!" He waves to us as he departs, leaving us to worry about what's to come.
"Wait..." Chopper starts uncertainly. "This place's gonna sink?!"
"It seem that way," Sanji says. "So we have to hurry and find Robin-chan!"
"Hey, wait, before we do that...." I look up at Sanji. "Do you think Usopp knows? I mean, he's on Merry right? The speakers won't reach that far from the city. And I doubt someone's going to go out of their way to tell him. Shouldn't we....?"
"He won't listen to us," Sanji murmurs.
"Yeah, I know, but..." I sigh. "I don't know. But as pissed as I am at him right now, I don't want him to die. There has to be something...."
Sanji's face brightens and he flashes me his wicked smile. "Of course there is, Raya-chan! Just follow my lead!" My lips twitch into a smile, and I nod. When Sanji isn't acting like a pervert, he's a pretty cool guy. And I think my dating Zoro is forcing him to maybe move on, so I hope that means he'll act normal around me from now on. I'd really like that.
I watch on in amusement as Sanji and Chopper edge as close to Merry as they cna without worrying about being spotted by Usopp. They face each other, taking deep breaths.
"HEY, HEY!! THERE'S A FREAKING GIANT HIGH TIDE CALLED AQUA LAGUNA COMIN' THIS WAY!!!" Sanji shouts at the top of his lungs.
"YEAH, YEAH!! AT AROUND MIDNIGHT!!! THE BEACH IS GONNA GO BLOOP!!" Chopper answers obligingly.
"THIS IS BAD!! WE CAN'T JUST STAND AROUND DOING NOTHING!! WE GOTTA GET TO HIGHER GROUND!!"
"YEAH, YEAH!! WE GOTTA TAKE REFUGE!!! REFUGE!!! REFUGE!!"
The two of them glance towards Merry, trying to confirm if Usopp's heard them. I see them stiffen; something must have tipped them off. Then they hightail it outta there, running as fast as our ex-sniper when he's ditching a fight. They dash past me, and Sanji grabs a hold of my arm, tugging me after him. I laugh at the look of comical worry on his and Chopper's faces. Oh man, I love this plan.
"Great idea, Sanji!" I laugh as we run. "That was epic! That bastard better be grateful!"
We make it back into the city fairy quickly, as these two know how to run. Well it makes sense. Sanji has those incredibly long legs, which have to be pretty strong otherwise his kicks would be ass. And Chopper's a four-legged reindeer right now. They obviously outdistance regular humans. But I manage to keep up.
My smile remains the entire time we run. That is, until I pass a trashcan overflowing with today's newspaper. Why they would toss out such fresh papers makes no sense, but that isn't what catches my eye. "Guys, stop!"
I pull away from Sanji and skid to a halt beside the trash. "Oh shit," I breathe.
"What is it, Raya-chan?" Sanji asks, coming up to my side.
"Yeah, Raya! You're so pale!" Chopper adds, bounding over as well.
"We're wanted criminals," I answer, eyes still locked on the paper.
Sanji snorts. "Well, yeah, we're pirates, Raya," he says cheekily. "Of course we're wanted criminals."
"No, that's not what I mean." I pluck one paper from the top of the pile and hold it in front me. Both Chopper and Sanji's eyes widen. "We're wanted here."
On the paper, they have four bountry posters printed.
Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro.
Straw Hat Monkey D.  Luffy.
Red-Haired Demon Flynn D. Raya.
Demon Child Nico Robin.
"They think we tried to kill Iceburg!" I hiss softly, now hyper-aware of being noticed by the Water 7 citizens. "They'll be looking for the four of us! What the frack am I going to do now?!'
I hold my head in my hand, letting my hair drown out my features. I really don't want to be caught for something I had nothing to do with. Then I feel a nudge on my thigh. I look down to see Chopper butting me with one of his horns. He swings his head around and points his nose as shopfront.
"No masks," I growl. Those things are too freaky for my taste.
"No not those!" Chopper says. "The shop next to it! Here, I'll go!" He switches to Heavy Point quickly and jogs into the shop. I glance at Sanji, who shrugs in response.
Alright then.
By the time Chopper returns, I've scrunched mysefl back into an alley, clinging to the shadows like a spider to its web. Ew. I hate spiders.
"Here Raya!" Chopper plonks a nonedescript black hat onto my head and fits a pair of shades over my eyes. I blink, having to adjust to the sudden darkness tinting my vision. I'm not really a sunglasses-type of girl but oh well.
I smile. "Thanks, Chopper." I remove the cap for a moment to tuck my hair up into it, before settling it back into place. With my over-sized black hoodie, I think I can pass for a guy. That should be enough to draw attention away from me, right?
"One problem down, many more to go," I announce determindly, albeit a little gloomily. They each nod in turn, and we return to scowering the city for our archeologist.
We're gonna find  you, Robin. Just hold on.
