Chapter 3: A Business Dinner

I stopped and turned to see Jin only inches from me and his hand on my shoulder. He recoiled his hand quickly and looked down. "I'm sorry...I shouldn't have grabbed you like that." He said. He then looked up. "I just wanted to be sure to thank you for today. You were very welcoming, and I appreciate that a lot. Being the new guy isn't easy." His smile cut right through me, his perfect teeth lined up made me want to know how they'd feel biting my bottom lip.

I pulled away from my thoughts and smiled back to him. "It was my pleasure, Jin." I started to walk away again when he called out to me again.

"Noona!"

I turned and he almost ran into me. "I was actually going to ask if you'd like to get some dinner? I usually cook but just moving here I'm currently in a hotel. I haven't quite settled yet and I'm starving."

What?

"You want to go to dinner with me?"

He nodded slightly a smile still on his face.

"Um...uh...well yeah...sure...um...where would you want to go?"

"Well, that's where I'd need your help. I'm not sure of the restaurants around here."

"I know a really good Italian place that is just down the road, we could walk there."

"Perfect." He smiled. "Are you available now?"

I nodded unable to speak from the shock of his offer. Was this a date? No. It can't be. If anything it's a business meal. He extended his arm to me. I looked at it for a minute before holding on to him. I'm definitely not used to this kind of behavior from men. Other than Taehyung, I've never had someone be so gentlemanly towards me. With my hand on his arm and his other hand over my hand, my breathing started to become irregular again. His touch was soft and his demeanor was delicate. My head was quite literally spinning from our interaction. We walked down the street in a comfortable silence and he opened the door for me once we go there.

When we walked in I think the hostess shit her pants, because one look at Jin and she became a stuttering, babbling mess. Eventually we were taken to a table towards the back where it was quiet. Before I sat, Jin pulled out the chair for me and pushed it in as I sat down.

Who IS this guy?!

He sat across from me scooting in his chair and I felt compelled to say something.

"Thank you, Jin. But you don't have to do all this stuff for me. Please don't feel obligated."

"I don't feel obligated...I was always taught that when around a smart and beautiful woman you treat her with as much respect as possible."

He things I'm smart?

He things I'm beautiful?

I didn't say anything but instead picked up the menu looking it over. I'm not sure why I was looking, I always got the same thing when I came here. I looked over a Jin who seemed to be in deep thought with his choices. I put my menu down and pulled out my phone.

Me: Are you home yet?

Tangy Boy: Just got home last night, why?

Me: I think I'm on a date....

Tangy Boy: WHAT?!

Me: Maybe not...he's a new guy at work and I helped him all day, and when we were dismissed to leave he asked me to dinner.

Tangy Boy: Is it a business dinner? You do those all the time.

Me: Um...maybe? Do business dinner partners call you smart?

Tangy Boy: Sometimes.

Me: How about beautiful?

Tangy Boy: NOPE! That doesn't typically happen, babe.

Me: What do I do?! I don't go on dates Tae!

Tangy Boy: Just act normal, Noona. You just met the guy and it's just dinner...just take a deep breath and relax

Tangy Boy: is he hot?...

Me: Like fuck me across this table right now hot....holy shit...

The thought alone made a little uncomfortable. I adjusted in my seat and looked up to Jin who was now staring at me. I blushed hard and put my phone under the table. "Sorry." I said only an octave above a whisper.

He laughed. "It's okay. I don't mind you being on your phone."

I thought about it. Being on your phone while on a date is rude isn't it?

UGH. This is so frustrating. First; I don't date. Second; this isn't even a date. But I still think being on my phone is rude.

"I'm just texting my friend."

He looked back over to me. "You don't have to explain, it's really fine."

This is fucking bizarre. I am so used to having to make up excuses for why my phone was blowing up. I almost said more until I felt my phone buzz again.

Tangy Boy: Don't sleep with him. Just see if you like him. Take it slow! He could be your soulmate!

Me: You know I don't believe in all that mushy gushy crap.

Tangy Boy: Yeah I know...still...don't sleep with him.

I put my phone away to see Jin's hands folded on top of his menu still smiling. Fuck he's going to kill me with those pearly whites.

"Everything okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, everything is okay."

"Ready to order?"

I nodded.

As the night went on it got easier and easier to talk to Jin. I wasn't so flustered or nervous and he loosened up a bit himself. He slouched a bit, and he had a laugh that most people might find annoying but I found endering. I was nearly in tears as he we laughed together.

"Why are you crying?" he asked, unable to contain his own laughter.

"Because your laugh is contagious Jin. You laugh, I laugh. I can't help it." I said throwing my arms up in defeat.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. But the story about Jungkook and his boyfriend getting caught in the elevator...I couldn't contain myself."

"That's not even the best one." I said wiping my eyes. Once I calmed down a bit, Jin and I locked eyes for longer that socialably acceptable for two people to do so.

"I forgot, I wanted to compliment you on your attire. Very fashionable, yet you look amazing."

"Thanks, I like wearing dresses normally, but since it was Friday we are allowed to wear jeans. I like simple looks, so a basic long sleeve shirt and a scarf is my go to."

"You pull the look off stunningly. I felt so overdressed walking around with you."

"We it was your first day, you didn't know Fridays were more casual. Besides if ANYONE looked stunning today it was you."

What? Did I really just fucking say that? What the fuck?

"You think I look stunning?" he asked with an eye brow raised.

"That suit is sharp...and something tells me you know it."

He smiled and looked away. When he looked back he spoke. "You caught me."

I felt my phone vibrate again.

Spencer: Wanna hang out tonight?

I rolled my eyes and typed a quick reply.

Me: No.

I looked back to Jin who now had an amused look on his face. "You sure are popular."

I shook my head. "It was no one, trust me."

He nodded slowly. "I hate to say it, because as much as I am enjoying my time with you I told my brother I would help him move tomorrow morning."

"Well that's very kind of you."

"That's what I was going for."

After a small argument that I lost, Jin settled the bill and held my hand as we walked out of the restaurant. He turned towards me once we made it outside and he raised my hand to his lips. He placed a very gentle kiss on my knuckles before he spoke. "I had a great time with you, Noona. Thank you for joining me for dinner. I hope we can do it again soon."

I nodded unable to speak. He can't be real. I couldn't help but notice that even though he lowered our hands, he still held on tightly to mine.

"Do you need a ride home?"

"Uh no, I live just over there a few blocks, I can walk."

"If you are sure." He let go of my hand. "I hope to see you soon, Noona."

Then he turned putting his hands in his pockets as he made his way to the parking garage.

FUCK.

I turned starting to walk home immediately taking out my phone. It only rang once before Taehyung answered.

"Please tell me you didn't sleep with him."

"No, Tae. I didn't. But holy shit, holy shit."

"What?"

"That was just so...weird."

"What was?"

"He was...nice...really nice"

"And?"

"Gentlemanly."

"And that's bad because...."

"Well...it wasn't bad it was just...weird. After I texted you the atmosphere relaxed almost instantly and we talked a lot. He has two younger brothers and I told him about Oliver."

"Ha...that stupid cat of yours."

"He's not stupid Tae...and he loves you."

"Yeah, too much."

"Anyway...when he we left the restaurant he kissed my hand. It was so sweet...he has to be gay."

"Doesn't sound like it, Noona."

"What straight man is that nice? For real...all the men I have ever met that came even somewhat close to that, were just trying to get in my pants."

"You need to regain your faith in humanity, not everyone is out to be malicious and manipulative."

"I wish you were right."

"Ugh...whatever. By the way, Yoongi wanted me to invite you to his house tomorrow night for a small celebration."

"What are we celebrating?" I asked as I unlocked my door stepping inside.

"Well, after he met my brothers, and Namjoon's boyfriend Jimin, he pulled me aside and told me he loved me, and that he was ready for me to move in with him. He asked if it was something I still wanted to do and I said yes!"

He sounded so excited I didn't have it in me to be an ass about it.

"That is so exciting! Of course I will come! Will it just be us three?"

"No, both my brothers and Jimin will be here too. Should I invite Kookie and Hobi?"

"Hell yeah you should. I can't wait to meet his mysterious brother of yours."

"Well I look forward to seeing you tomorrow love."

"Me to babe, sleep tight, and congrats. I really am happy for you."

"I know you are. Give Oli some loving from me."

"Will do. Goodnight."

"Night."
