Not Just a Fan (Sabriel)

So I was following how they run the Australian Spn conventions, don't know if that's how it's normally done but it's all I know :P Also I decided to write this as I'm going to a convention on Sunday, so excited :D

Gabriel shuffled nervously as he stood in line. He was at a convention for his favourite show, Supernormal, waiting in the line to be let in. There were other fans everywhere, dressed up as their favourite characters with big elaborate costumes. Someone had even made working angel wings.

And then there was Gabriel Novak. He was a college student who wasn't exactly doing to well with his life. He had failed high school and barely gotten into college. Even then, it had been a bad college. So he dropped out and lived with his parents for several years, in that time getting obsessed with Supernormal. And one of the actors had completely changed his views on everything. But even after going to college again, he still wasn't doing well. He could barely even pay rent, let alone afford a convention.

And yet, he had saved up ever since he found out a convention was near him, every spare dollar, just so he could go to this convention. He didn't have enough to meet the actors, but he would at least see their panels.

"Gabriel!"

Gabe turned to see Castiel Novak running up to him. He was also a fan and had come to the convention, having given Gabriel a ride.

"Thanks for saving a spot," Cas said as he stopped running, catching his breath.

"No problem Cassie," Gabe said. "What was so important that you had to go running out?"

Cas smiled brightly, and handed Gabriel something. It was money...the exact amount needed to meet his favourite actor.

"Oh my god Cas...you..."

Cas just smiled and pulled Gabriel into a hug, knowing how much this meant to him.

"Cas thank you..."

"No problem brother, you deserve this. I know how hard you've been trying to get your life back on track."

Gabe pulled back with a wide smile and pocketed the money, making sure it was as safe as possible.

And so they waited in line until they were finally let into the hall, and found their seat. Yeah it was at the back, but Gabe still didn't mind.

"Okay everyone," one of the people running the thing said once everyone was there. "First we're going to have the photos, then panels, then autographs. We'll call you up row by row for photos."

And so the convention continued. They called everyone up to the other rooms for photos, which would be printed and given out before autographs. Gabriel was practically bouncing in his seat.

The one actor that had changed his life was Sam Winchester. He and his brother Dean, Cas's favourite, were brothers on the show too, and the main actors. And Gabriel would never admit that he may have developed quite a crush on the actor that inspired him to live again.

Gabriel jumped up as his row was called for the photos and ran off while Cas followed him slowly, laughing. Cas was getting a photo with Dean...coz you know. Destiel. Gabe shipped it.

Gabriel got into the line, but couldn't see the actors up ahead. The line slowly progressed and his heart started beating faster. He was about to meet Sam Winchester...The Sam Winchester...

As the line rounded the corner of the photo set up, Gabe pretty much internally died. There was Sam Winchester, standing there in person...and he was tall, like wow. What a moose.

There was still a few people before Gabe, and as they got their photos he just pretty much stared at Sam like a creep.

Then he was at the front of the line, and he was walking over to Sam. And Sam was looking at him, like actually looking at him.

"Hey there," Sam said, smiling at Gabriel. Gabriel tried to say something, but instead made some sort of choked noise. Sam chuckled. "Don't worry, we get that a lot. What's your name?"

"Gabriel," Gabe managed to choke out, his eyes wide and his heart racing. Yep he would definitely admit to that crush now, Sam was even more perfect in person.

"Nice to meet you Gabriel," Sam said, before grabbing Gabe's arm and dragging him in front of the camera. Sam stood behind Gabe and wrapped his arms around his chest, leaning down to rest his chin on Gabe's shoulder. Oh and Gabe was so dying as of that moment, but he managed to look normal for the camera.

After the photo Sam spun Gabriel around to pull him into a proper quick hug. Gabe managed to respond and hug him back, before he had to go and Sam was talking to the next person.

Gabriel walked in a daze back to his seat in the main room, where Cas was already waiting.

"How was it?" Cas asked.

"He hugged me..." Gabe made an inhuman noise.

"I ship you guys," Cas said.

"So do I," Gabe whispered.

"Wait...do you like him in that way?"

"...maybe."

"Well I feel that way about Dean, so I can't really say anything can I."

Gabe smirked a bit as he looked over Cas and Cas just laughed and shook his head. "So how was meeting Dean then?"

"He called me Cas..."

"Awww, nicknames already?"

Cas just shoved Gabriel lightly.

And so the convention continued.

Next were the panels. There were a few side actors, and then at the end was Sam and Dean together.

As the two walked out onto the stage, the cheering was deafening. They both smiled brightly, and Sam had his phone out, recording the crowd.

"It's not fair how perfect he is," Gabe muttered as he looked at Sam.

"Yeah," Cas said, sighing. "Doesn't help that they literally have thousands of people obsessing over them. Who all probably have some form of feelings for them."

"The question is, are our feelings real?" Gabriel said quietly. But as he looked at Sam smiling and laughing, the twist in his stomach gave him the answer.

The panel went on, and then about halfway through Sam stood up and jumped off stage.

"Dean's boring, I'm going to hang out with you guys," he said, sitting on the armrest of someone's chair. That woman made an inhuman noise. Sam smiled.

"Hey I'm not boring," Dean said.

"Oh come on, you know everyone watches the show for me," Sam said, turning to wink at the audience. The audience cheered.

Dean grumbled under his breath and the audience laughed at their brotherly love.

Sam stood up again, and walked down the isle, occasionally stopping to answer someone's question or hug someone. And then he was at Gabriel's row.

Sam looked down the row, and Gabriel froze as he made eye contact with him. Sam smiled slightly, and then walked down the row to where Gabriel was.

"No I think Gabriel here appreciates me more than you do Dean," Sam said as he reached Gabriel. He nudged Gabriel over in the chair slightly, and then sat beside him. It was kinda squishy, but neither of them complained.

"Oooo does Sammy have a crush?" Dean teased. Sam rolled his eyes and turned to Gabriel, with the entire crowd watching. Gabriel's heart pretty much stopped, having Sam beside him this close.

"No, but I found someone the perfect height to be an armrest," Sam said jokingly, resting his arm on Gabe's shoulder. Gabe made a choked sound again and Sam laughed.

"Well if you get him, then I want the hot blue eyed one beside him," Dean said. Except...he was too far away to know that Cas had blue eyes so he must've remembered. Cas just looked wide eyed at Dean and the crowd just went ballistic. Some were jealous and some were shipping it. Most were the latter.

Sam pulled the mic away from his face for a moment and leaned close to Gabriel.

"You're adorable when you're nervous," he muttered so only Gabe could hear him. Then he stood and winked at Gabe before walking away continuing to answer the crowds questions.

Gabe was just pretty much hyperventilating. He couldn't believe what had just happened. Was Sam just messing with him, or was there actually a chance he might like Gabriel?

The panel ended and Gabe could've sworn Sam was looking at him as he walked off stage, but that might've just been high hopes.

Next were autographs. The time they were actually able to have decent length conversations with the actors. The photos taken earlier were also returned to all of them.

Cas went and collected the photos of him and Dean, and Sam and Gabe. He passes Gabe's to him, smiling as he did.

"You two are literally the cutest couple," Cas said.

Gabe looked down, noticing that it was a very couply thing that Sam did. And that smile...Gabriel just looked kinda awkward, but he was smiling widely.

Gabe glanced over at Cas's photo, where Dean had one arm around Cas. Except instead of looking at the camera, Dean was looking at Cas, his face filled with interest and curiosity.

"He totally likes you," Gabe said, smirking.

"Yeah right," Cas said.

The two of them decided to go to the back of the lines so they would have more time to talk to the two actors they were getting to meet. Gabe's heart had started racing again. But this time, Gabe closed his eyes and cleared his thoughts. He'd have one normal conversation with Sam today.

The line finally became only Gabriel, with no one behind him. Sam, sitting at the table, smiled as he saw Gabe.

"I was wondering if I'd see you here," Sam said. "I hope I didn't make you feel awkward before."

"Not at all," Gabriel said, surprised as his normal talking returned to him. That didn't mean he wasn't still internally dying though. "Nervous however is another story."

Sam smirked slightly and stood up, walking around the table to stand next to Gabriel. "Hey do you know that person who was sitting next to you, the one Dean called hot?"

"Yeah," Gabe said, his heart sinking for a moment. "He's my brother."

"Well, I totally ship our brothers," Sam said, gesturing to where Cas and Dean were talking, and Dean was obviously flirting with Cas. Cas looked flustered, but was smiling.

"Hells yeah," Gabe said. "Destiel. I've shipped it for years."

Sam laughed. "Have you shipped anyone else?"

"I...well..."

"Well this is interesting. Do tell."

Gabriel shrunk a bit and started choking on his words again. Sam just chuckled quiet, before ruffling Gabe's hair.

"You ship us don't you?"

"I...yeah..."

"Hmm...I might just have to join in on this ship..."

Gabe looked up at Sam with wide eyes, who was smiling down at him. "You..."

"I've gotta admit, I do like you Gabriel," Sam said. "And, well, I'm not doing anything after this, there's no one left to sign for, care to go and get a drink?"

Gabriel nodded furiously at which Sam laughed.

"Are you usually awkward and nervous all the time?" Sam asked.

"No...you do this to me Sammy," Gabe said, regaining his confidence for a second and smirking at Sam.

"Well, I'll just have to talk to you enough to make you normal around me, won't I?" Sam said. "Because you're hot when you smirk."

And nervous Gabriel came back.

That was how Gabriel ended up getting a drink with the actor Sam Winchester. How he ended up getting invited back to Sam's hotel room afterwards. They didn't do anything serious, I mean they just met.

But as they sat on the couch watching a movie, Gabe leaning against Sam while Sam had an arm around him, Sam turned to Gabe, leaning in ever so slightly. He stopped however, as if asking Gabriel if it was okay. Gabriel just smirked and closed the distance between them, kissing Sam gently.

That was the start of their relationship which eventually turned into a marriage. And in case you were wondering, Dean asked a very flustered Cas out and then stayed with Sam in the city for a week after to be with Cas. The fangirls of the show all discovered about their relationships, and shipped them hard.

And on the wall of Sam and Gabe's house, framed and kept in perfect condition, was that first photo, of the first time they met. The best day of both of their lives.
