It Started At A Con (Sabriel)

Was gonna do a new years oneshot but I did that last year, so here's a random one xD Just because I really liked writing that last con oneshot

(Background Destiel)

"Dean come ooonnnn," Sam said, grabbing Dean's hand and trying to drag him into the crowd. Dean sighed and followed him, but was smiling softly.

They were at Comic Con, and both of them were in their teens. This was the first one Sam had ever been to and he was so excited for everything.

And you know, they were also cosplaying, coz why not. They'd both decided to be Doctor's, Sam wearing a bow tie and a fez while Dean wore a trenchcoat. And more details than that, to make them Eleven and Ten.

"Come on Dean hurry up," Sam said as he ran ahead. Dean hurried to catch up, struggling to push through all the people to keep up with Sam.

There were several actors that Sam wanted to go see throughout the day to get autographs and all that sorta stuff. None of those things happened for a while so Sam dragged Dean to all the stalls set up with endless amounts of merch.

Sam saw a Doctor Who stall and ran over, eyes wide and excited as he looked at everything. And as he was glancing at everything, he saw someone out of the corner of his eyes. Well, two people actually.

One was short, with golden hair and a mischievous smile. The other was taller, with black hair. And well, they were cosplaying. The taller one had his hair messed up, wearing a long dark trenchcoat and a scarf, while the shorter one had pretty normal clothes on, except with his partner it was obvious that he was dressed up as John Watson. And the other was Sherlock.

Sam couldn't help fangirling, pretty much jumping up and down in excitement as Dean finally caught up. Dean looked at what Sam had saw and smiled before walking over to the two.

"Hey there," Dean said. "Me and my brother just wanted to say that your cosplay is amazing." Sam just stood there with wide eyes because of social awkwardness.

"Thanks, you too," the shorter one said. He had nice eyes...his hair was styled like John's though, Sam was curious about what it would look like if it wasn't. He shot Sam a smile as Sam partially hid behind his brother. "Shy brother?"

"Yeah," Dean said, smiling. "It's his first comic con."

"Well, I hope you guys have fun," said shorty, before he and his friend walked off. Sam kind of gaped after him.

"He was cute," Sam said quietly.

"Sam we've been here like 30 minutes, I'm sure you'll see more cute people," Dean said, before pulling Sam off to look at more merchandise.

Now, if that was the last time they'd seen those two, Sam probably would've forgotten about them. But nope, things didn't work that way.

The next time was as they went to find a quiet spot for lunch. They went outside and found somewhere to sit to eat. There were a lot of other people from the convention around as well, sitting to take a break from their adventures.

Sam was peacefully eating when he glanced up and saw golden eyes staring at him. He froze, halfway through chewing a mouthful and stared at the guy who was cosplaying John Watson. The guy smiled slightly and gave Sam a little wave. Sam blinked back and the guy chuckled slightly, before turning back to his conversation with Sherlock.

Dean followed Sam's gaze again. "Oh them again. Maybe we should talk to th—"

"Nope no we don't need to do that," Sam said hastily.

"Come on Sammy, get past the social awkwardness and live a little," Dean said.

"Nope," Sam said. Dean just sighed.

The next time they came across the Sherlock cosplayers was while they were in a line for the autograph of Matt Smith. Hence Sam's cosplay.

They actually ended up being right in front of the other two. Although they didn't seem to notice as they were deep in an argument of sorts.

"—come on Cassie be a little fun would you?"

"No," the black haired one said. "I will not aid in your childish games."

"But Caaasss," the short one whined. "All I'm asking is that you—" He cut himself off as he noticed Sam glancing at him.

(Gabe had totally not just being trying to get Cas to help him find Sam again)

"Well hey there," the short guy said, smirking at Sam. "You know, if you're going to stare then at least be subtle about it." Sam's eyes went wide and he blushed darkly. The guy chuckled slightly as Dean glanced over at them. "Name's Gabriel."

"Sam," Sam muttered quietly.

"And here I thought you were the Doctor," Gabriel said, faking offense. "I feel lied to." Sam laughed quietly at that. "Oh and this is my brother Cassie."

'Cassie' rolled his eyes. "It's Castiel," he corrected.

"Oh this is my brother Dean," Sam said, pulling Dean into the conversation.

"Hey," Dean said, smiling at the two. And Castiel, well he looked almost shy at this.

Before much more could happen, the line had progressed and Sam and Dean were getting autographs from Matt Smith himself.

"Amazing cosplay," Matt said, smiling as Sam internally died in front of him. "You know...the short guy in the line behind looks like he has a thing for you."

"I...what?" Sam said, blushing again as he glanced over at an unsuspecting Gabriel. And then too quickly he was being ushered away so that the line could keep moving.

They didn't see Gabriel and Castiel for several more hours after that. In fact, they only saw them next at the very end of the day.

Sam was walking along with Dean back to the car before he got distracted by something and stopped to look. He heard Dean call him from a distance and went to run to catch up.

And then ran straight into Gabriel. And knocked him over. And fell on top of him.

"Well Sam, didn't know you were this desperate to see me again," Gabriel said, smirking. Sam was frozen and blushing. Gabe had really nice eyes...especially up this close.

"I uh..." Sam said, his mind not working properly.

"Now would be such a cliche moment to kiss," Gabe said. "But alas, our characters are not shipped together, therefore we can't."

Sam's eyes went wide and he jumped back as Gabe laughed and sat up. Sam noted that Gabe's hair had gotten messy in the fall and all he wanted to do was run his hand through it to tidy it. It looked longer when it wasn't perfectly styled to the cosplay.

"Sammy come on!" Dean called from the distance.

"Sorry, I gotta go," Sam said, giving Gabe an apologetic look. "Uh...sorry for knocking you over."

"Oh I'd happy do that again," Gabe said, winking. Sam just blushed darkly again. "Hey, maybe I'll see you tomorrow." Because you know, they convention goes over multiple days.

"Maybe," Sam said, smiling slightly, before running off to Dean.

"What took you so long?" Dean asked.

"I ran into someone," Sam said simply.

The next day, Dean and Sam were just dressed normally as themselves. They didn't have any autograph sessions to go to that day, only one or two panels. At some point they split up to go explore all the merch stalls.

Sam was admiring some weapon replicas from shows when he heard a familiar voice behind him.

"Cas come on, it can't be that hard to find them."

"Gabriel do you know how many people there are here?"

"But he was cuuute."

Sam blushed, despite not knowing if Gabriel was talking about him. He turned around slightly to look at Gabe and noticed that he wasn't in costume anymore. And well...his hair for one, now lazily brushed back, his well fitting clothes and a lollipop sticking out of his mouth.

"He might not even be cosplaying anymore," Castiel said.

"You could at least try to be helpful," Gabe muttered.

"Well," Sam said, walking over to them. "You never know. I've managed to run into the same person four times here. One quite literally."

Gabriel stared at him. Just openly stared.

"Woah," he said eventually. "I mean you look good in a bow tie Sammy but..." Sam just smiled, and absently noted that Cas was still wearing a trenchcoat.

"I'm just going to go," Cas muttered before turning to walk away and bumping into someone.

"Uhh," Dean said, looking at the Cas who'd just hit his head on Dean's chin. "I was looking for you Sammy."

"Yeah, look who I found," Sam said, smiling brightly. Gabe kinda was still staring at Sam.

"Hey Sam," Gabe said suddenly. "You know, we're not dressed as characters anymore."

"What do you—" Sam was cut off as Gabe suddenly took a step forward and kissed Sam very quickly before stepping away just as quickly, smirking.

Dean was watching with wide eyes and looked like he wanted to murder Gabriel.

"I uh..." Sam said. "Um..." He glanced at Dean. "Dean don't kill him." Gabe glanced over at Dean and flinched at the murderous glare. Dean just sent a glare at Sam before stalking off moodily. "Uhhh..."

"Well then," Gabe said.

"Maybe someone should follow him," Cas said.

"Go ahead Cassie," Gabe said. Cas looked at Gabe for a second before shrugging and following Dean. Gabe looked back at Sam who was blushing. "So Sammy."

"It's Sam, not Sammy," Sam said.

"Whatever you say Samantha," Gabe said, smirking. "Wanna go explore the merchandise with me?"

Sam smiled shyly. "Yeah." Gabe lit up and grabbed Sam's hand.

"Run," he whispered dramatically and Sam smiled widely before the two of them ran off through the convention before getting told off by the security people for running. To which the two of them broke down laughing, getting a lot of weird looks.

They spent the rest of the day together, Cas and Dean no where to be found. They ended up exchanging phone numbers, and Gabe walked with Sam back to the Impala at the end of the day.

"So hey, I'll see you again right?" Gabe asked.

"I hope so," Sam said, smiling. He looked at Gabe's hair suddenly and put a hand up to ruffle it. Gabe pouted at him before sighing.

"I should probably go find Cassie," Gabe said. And as if on cue, Castiel appeared with Dean beside him.

"There you are," Sam said. "Where did you go all day?"

Dean shrugged. "I was keeping Cas company."

"Woah nicknames already?" Gabe said, smirking.

"You nickname people immediately," Cas said, rolling his eyes, and Gabe just shrugged.

"Hey, I'll see you around Cas," Dean said, and Sam pretended not to notice how he brushed his hand against Cas's as he walked past. Gabe noticed too and shared an amused glance with Sam.

"See ya later Sammy," Gabe said, as he went to stand beside Cas. Sam grabbed Gabe's arm and pulled him back, kissing him quickly and softly before letting go just as quick as Gabe did earlier. The unsuspecting Gabe gave Sam a wide eyed look before smirking.

"See you around," Sam said, winking at Gabe before getting into the car with Dean.

As they drove off, Sam's phone went off from a message from a contact saved as "The cute John Watson." Sam smiled and texted back.

"Did you seriously just get a boyfriend at comic con?" Dean asked.

"You say that like you didn't," Sam said, smirking. Dean just spluttered and the rest of the drive was silent.

But that wasn't the last time either of them saw Cas and Gabe. In fact they ended up spending pretty much the rest of their lives together. All because of a convention.

By the way, happy new year :)
