Where Dean Winchester and Castiel Novak both get their hearts broken by their exes. They make a deal to help each other, since they know what they're dealing with. *Castiel's POV*

I wake up to somebody pounding on my door. Groggily, I get out of bed and walk to the front door. After looking through the peephole, I unchains and unlock the door.

"What do you want, Gabe?" I ask.

He pushes the door open and I back up. "Check your Instagram," he tells me.

I groan, walking into my room and grabbing my phone. I walk back to the couch and sit down next to Gabe. After pulling it up, I hand my phone to Gabe so he can show me. He taps on my screen a couple times before handing it back to me. It's a picture of my ex, Ezekiel, and a girl. The two of them are on a Ferris wheel and the girl has an engagement ring on. At the bottom of the screen I see a comment.

@lisabraeden: The ring is prettier than the one @deanwinchester had given me <3 love u Zeke

"Who's Dean Winchester?" I ask. Quickly, I tap on the photo and see that Lisa is the girl, since she's tagged. Then I lock my phone, so the picture isn't on the screen anymore.

"I think it's Lisa's ex. Not quite sure," Gabe tells me.

"Why are you showing me this?" I ask. "Zeke cheated on me with her, Gabe."

"Because I wanted you to see how much of a liar he was. You shouldn't be upset about him leaving, you should be angry. He wasn't right for you, Cass."

"I just don't understand why he couldn't tell me he was straight before being with Lisa. I'm hurt because he couldn't trust me. Then he lied when we were together. I hate liars," I tell him.

I lean my head on Gabe's shoulder and sigh loudly. My phone buzzes when a notification lights up my screen.

@hannahangel: I'm so sorry @castielnovak I hope you're okay

Why is Hannah talking to me? I open the notification and the photo from Ezekiel's page shows up. I lock my phone and put it on the coffee table.

"You're not gonna answer her?" Gabe asks.

"If you can't tell, I'm still tired," I tell him. "I'm only up because you're here."

"Well you can go take a nap, I'll just watch TV till you get up," Gabe says.

I roll my eyes before grabbing my phone and heading to my room. I get into bed and my phone buzzes. A new email?

Hey, Castiel. That's your name, right? I just wanted to say I know what you're going through and if you need someone to talk to about it, I'm always free to chat. Lisa was my ex, she cheated on me with Ezekiel. I had no clue, either ~ Dean Winchester

I sigh, thinking of what to respond with.

Hey, Dean. Yeah, it's Castiel. I guess we can talk. At least someone understands what I'm going through. Not that it's a good thing she cheated. Ezekiel and I were together for two years. Then one day everything changes. He told me he got a promotion at work, and that meant he would have to work more hours. I believed him for three months, until one day I called his office. Ezekiel told me he was going to be away for a week because he was attending multiple meetings that were at least three hours away from our home. I called his office, because all he did was leave a note. I wanted to get more information about the trip and about his promotion, so that I could know what to expect in the future. The company told me that he never got a promotion, and there was no meeting. I waited until he got home to talk about it. He said he realized he was straight, not bi, and he didn't know how to tell me. Wow, I just realized how long that reply was. Sorry ~ Castiel Novak

I decide to scroll through Ezekiel's profile on Instagram, to check if he still has any photos of us. After seeing there are none, I get a reply.

It's okay that it's long. I was basically in the same boat. I never saw it coming. I had proposed to her after a year and a half of being together, and that's when she told me. I spent a lot of money on the ring, yet Ezekiel's ring for her looks stupid. At least I got my money back, right? ~ Dean Winchester

I stare at my phone in shock. She declined his proposal by saying she was cheating? Wow, that's bad.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I can't imagine what it's like to be rejected like that. Ezekiel and I had agreed that when we were both ready to get married, he would be the one to propose. I was ready, but he just kept getting busier and busier. Like I said before, I thought it was just his job. I didn't want to bring it up because whenever he'd come home he'd be stressed. I'm glad you got your money back, Dean. What were you planning on buying with the money? ~ Castiel Novak

I was planning on buying my little brother a car. My dad gave me his car and I want Sammy (my brother) to be able to drive with his own car. We used one of Bobby's (my dads' best friend) cars since my car is my baby ~ Dean Winchester

Ooh, what type of car do you have? I have a tan Lincoln Continental Mark V. What car are you planning on getting Sam? ~ Castiel Novak

I have a black 1967 Impala. Planning to get Sam a black 2006 SRT8 Dodge Charger. He says it's his favorite. I want to make him happy, since we've been through a lot. He's my brother, I can't help it ~ Dean Winchester

How old is he? Sorry if that's too personal. I hope he's at least 16 so he can drive ~ Castiel Novak

He's 23. He always makes me drive him. It's tiring. I'm 27. How about you? ~ Dean Winchester

25. Turning 26 soon. It's in about two weeks. I have a brother too. He's 24 ~ Castiel Novak

Two weeks? Wow. Hope you have a good birthday. What are you doing up at 6:00AM anyway? I was surprised I got a response if I'm honest ~ Dean Winchester

My idiot brother came over and woke me up. He wanted to show me that photo from Instagram. Honestly, I'm too tired to be pissed at him right now. What about you though? ~ Castiel Novak

Wow, yeah, I'd be pissed. I gotta get over to Sammy's house. He's recording a video for his YouTube channel and he wants me to be in it. First time being in one of his videos. Hopefully I don't fuck up. That would be embarrassing ~ Dean Winchester

Yeah, that would be pretty bad. He can edit the footage, though. Face cam or just screen? ~ Castiel Novak

Just screen. He hasn't done a face reveal yet ~ Dean Winchester

What's his channel name and Instagram? ~ Castiel Novak

WinchesterSam and samwinchester. You might not be into the type of stuff he's into. He does let's plays of games ~ Dean Winchester

Ooh that's my favorite type of YouTube content ~ Castiel Novak

Alright well I'm gonna let you get some rest. I'm gonna head over to Sam's so we can get it over and done with. Whoever gets back first will respond. That's if you want to keep talking ~ Dean Winchester

I do. Sounds like a plan. Talk to you then. Bye, Dean ~ Castiel Novak

Bye, Castiel ~ Dean Winchester

I sigh, putting my phone back on the bedside table. I plug in my charger before drifting off into a dreamless sleep.

•••

"Cassie, wake up," someone says. I groan in annoyance and flip to the other side. "Cass, let's go. Get up. I ordered food."

"Food?" I ask, turning to face Gabe. "What food?"

"Burgers," Gabe tells me.

"For breakfast?" I ask.

"I wanted burgers and I didn't want to wait till dinner," Gabe shrugs.

"I'll be right there," I sigh.

He walks out of the room. I pick up my phone and walk to the living room where the food is laid out. After sitting down, I pick up my burger. Dean. I forgot to text him. I check my phone and see a message from him.

Just got finished. Only took about two hours. It was still pure torture. I don't know how he does it. But I was warming up to it a bit when I finished. I like my job a lot better than that ~ Dean's Winchester

Great, that was sent two hours ago. It's 10:30AM right now.

Wow. I must've been really tired. I went to bed early last night (probably 8PM) and I woke up a couple minutes ago. Sorry it took so long ~ Castiel Novak

It's okay, Castiel. You feeling more awake now or did your brother wake you up again? ~ Dean Winchester

Both. I'm just sitting next to Gabe (my brother) in silence since we're both eating, I'm texting, and the radio isn't on ~ Castiel Novak

What about the TV? Why don't you turn that on? ~ Dean Winchester

I don't have one. I took all my valuables and left Ezekiel's house. I've been living in an apartment ever since ~ Castiel Novak

Wow, well you at least have a phone. Do you have a laptop? ~ Dean

Yeah, it was one of my valuables. I have what I need at least. That's all that counts ~ Castiel

I'm moving into Sam's soon because I don't have enough money to pay rent on a 3-story house all by myself. Lisa left me with all the bills ~ Dean

"Cass, who are you texting?" Gabe asks.

"Dean," I reply.

"Lisa's ex Dean?" He asks.

"Yeah."

I left Ezekiel in our 2-story house. He has a well paying job so he could pay it by himself. I work at a book store. What about you? ~ Castiel

"Why are you talking to him?" Gabe asks.

"Because we know what each other's going through," I tell him.

I'm a mechanic at Singer's Salvage Yard. I help get the cars repaired and running. It's easy for me. You know the place? ~ Dean

Yeah, I pass by it every time I'm going to work ~ Castiel

•••

It's been a week since Dean and I have started talking.

Hey, Cass? Do you want to FaceTime? It's easier than emailing back and forth ~ Dean

I reply with my phone number and take a seat on the couch. My phone rings and the screen lights up. I press accept and wait for the screen to load.

"Hey, Cass," Dean says.

"Hello, Dean," I reply.

"Your voice is deeper than I expected," he laughs.

"Really? I didn't think it was that deep," I tell him.

"It's nice to finally see what you look like," Dean chuckles.

"You haven't seen me before?" I ask.

"There's no pictures of you on your profile," he says.

"Yeah, I don't post pictures of myself," I shrug.

Someone bangs on my door, startling me. "Cassie, open up!" Gabe yells.

"Go away!" I yell back.

"Brother?" Dean asks.

"Yeah," I sigh. The front door opens, making me groan. "Go away, Gabe. What are you doing here?"

"You haven't left your apartment in a week. I'm taking you out," Gabe tells me.

"I'll call you back, Dean," I sigh.

"Bye, Cass," Dean laughs.

•••

It's been two months since I've first talked to Dean. I'm on the phone with Dean as Gabe sits next to me.

"Cass, come on. It's our high school reunion. Tonight. Let's go," Gabe persists.

"No, Gabe. Lisa, Ezekiel, they'll be there. I don't want to see that," I tell him.

"Uh, if I may," Dean laughs. "I'm gonna be there, so if you want to go, we can finally meet. Sounds like a good as time as ever."

"Oh my god, fine. You're driving me, Gabe. I'll see you there, Dean," I sigh.

I quickly get ready before putting my on my trench coat. "Nope, not wearing that," Gabe tells me. "No trench coat today."

"But, Gabe. Please. It's my trench coat. Just this once," I plead.

"Fine, let's go," Gabe sighs. Gabe unlocks his car before we get in and drive off. "Nervous about meeting Dean for the first time?"

"Yeah, actually, I am," I admit.

•••

It takes fifteen minutes to arrive. We get out of my car and walk to the doors. I say both of our names, and the guy checks his clipboard. He nods, so we head inside. We look around the place in awe. Meg walks over to me, not hiding her interest.

"You got hot, Novak," she points out.

"Thanks," I sigh. "Is Dean here yet?"

"Winchester? Why would you be looking for him? You two were from completely different crowds in high school. Didn't even know you two knew each other," Meg says.

"Isn't that him?" Gabe whispers, pointing to Dean, who is walking over to us.

"Yes that's him, you idiot," I retort. Meg walks over to me, running her hand up and down my bicep. I stare at her with confusion. "What are you doing?"

"Told you, you're irresistible," she says.

"Uh...hey," Dean says.

I sigh in relief, pulling myself away from her. Meg scowls in response. "Hello, Dean," I say.

He walks over and engulfs me into a hug. I laugh, hugging him back. "How could I ever miss you in high school?" He asks quietly.

"If it makes you feel any better, I did too," I laugh.

"Of course you did," Gabe snickers. "You were too busy in your books to notice anyone."

Dean pulls back, standing at a reasonable distance now. "So you were a book nerd?" He asks.

"I guess," I reply shyly.

"Am I missing something here?" Meg asks.

"Castiel!" Hannah screeches, running over and pulling me into a hug. I stumble backwards, trying to catch my balance. She quickly pulls away, looking shy. "You feeling any better?"

"Yes, Hannah," I sigh. "That was for one night."

"More like a month," Gabe retorts.

"Okay, you know what? I'm not talking about this," I tell them. "Dean, can we talk?"

"Dean? Why Dean? Didn't he laugh at people like us?" Hannah asks.

"You did what?" I ask Dean.

"Cass," Dean sighs. "That's not me anymore, okay? Did it seem like me the past two months?"

"No," I sigh.

"Past two months?" Meg asks.

Dean doesn't respond. Instead, he takes my hand in his and leads me to a small corner to talk. After he makes sure nobody is listening, he releases his grip and puts his hands in his front pockets. He looks down at the floor, shifting uncomfortably between his feet.

"Dean, what's wrong?" I ask.

"It's nothing, Cass," Dean says.

"Don't lie to me," I sigh. I put my hand underneath his chin, forcing him to look at me. "You know how I am with liars. I understand if you don't want to talk about it, but admit that instead of saying it's nothing." A small smile plays on his face, so I drop my hands.

He looks back down at the floor. "I just...am having a hard time right now," Dean admits. "Being here, meeting you. Seeing you in person, it's different. I'm just trying to sort some things out right now."

"Like?" I ask.

"I...I'm so confused. Ever since I met you, everything's changed," Dean says.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I ask.

"It means I might be bi," he whispers. I almost didn't hear him over the loud music playing.

"Does...that mean you like me?" I ask nervously. I hold my breath in anticipation. Dean nods his head softly. I let out a small laugh, pulling Dean closer to me.

He looks up at me in confusion. My eyes flicker between his lips and his beautiful green eyes. He gets the hint, smirking. Dean moves forward, so his body is flush against mine. He cups my cheeks with his hands and plants his lips onto mine. I hear multiple gasps, and chuckle against Dean's lips. We kiss until we're out of breath. Our foreheads tough as we look into each other eyes.

"Very much," he replies.

I laugh softly. He rolls his eyes, pulling away completely. He grabs my hand and we start walking back to the crowd of people. We stop, realizing most eyes were watching us. I see Gabe standing there, smirking. I laugh, pulling Dean with me as I walk towards Gabe.

"Thought you forgot about me," Gabe jokes.

Dean wraps his arms around me from behind, hiding his face in my neck. I chuckle at Dean. "I wish, Gabe," I retort. "He's just screwing with us, Dean."

"Dean?" I hear from behind. Dean lifts his head, keeping his arms around me.

"Hey, Sammy," he says.

I turn my head, not expecting someone so tall. "Holy shit, Dean. Is he a tower?" I whisper.

Dean lets out a big laugh, unable to keep it in. "No, he's just really tall," he replies. "Sammy, this is Castiel. Cass, this is Sam."

"The infamous Castiel," Sam smirks.

"Nice to meet you too," I retort.

Gabe laughs, probably to get the attention back on him. "Gabriel Novak," he tells Sam.

"Sam Winchester," Sam replies.

They start a conversation with each other fairly quickly. I turn around in Dean's arms, so we're facing each other completely. He presses his lips to mine, making me squeal before kissing back.

"Cass?" Ezekiel asks.

"Dean?" Lisa asks.

We pull away, groaning in response. "What do you want?" Dean asks harshly.

"Wow," Lisa laughs. "That's actually you, kissing Castiel. Didn't know you liked guys."

"It's just Cass," Dean mutters.

I sigh, looking over at the couple. "Can you stop bothering us? We've all moved on. You see what's happening, we don't have to explain it. So if you would kindly fuck off, it would be greatly appreciated."

Dean laughs, trying to contain it, but failing miserably. Sam and Gabe stopped their conversation to listen to ours, so they laugh too.

"You sure you guys aren't just rebounding?" Ezekiel asks.

"Okay, that's enough," Sam says, walking over to the couple. They cower a bit at the height difference. "It's none of your business whether they're together or not. You two cheated on them for over a year before coming clean. They deserve to be happy without you dicks messing things up."

By the end, everyone is staring at the couple. "They cheated on Dean and Castiel?" One asks. "Castiel got hot," another says. "Who in their right minds would cheat on those two?" A third asks. "Are they insane?" Another asks.

It kept going like that, not ever seeming to end. One thing in particular stands out. "They're so cute together. Their loss for cheating," Hannah says. Everyone mutters in agreement.

I laugh softly, ducking my head to hide my blush. Dean lifts my chin and pulls me into a quick kiss. "Don't hide your blush, it's cute," Dean says. I do it again, but lift it quickly. "Getting there," he laughs.

"Whatever," I mutter.

•••

The rest of the reunion was amazing. People kept coming up to us, either congratulating us on getting together, or saying how cute we were. On the ride home, Gabe kept cracking jokes and teasing me.

Two years passed by. Dean and I got ourselves our own house, with Sam and Gabe. The two of them got together over a year ago. We all agreed to live together, to help with bills and everything. Dean and I got engaged, and we're soon getting married. Sam and Gabe bug us the whole time about it. I wouldn't have it any other way, though.

All in all, I got my happy ending. Sam and Gabe are happy together, Dean and I are completely in love. I've got more customers at the bookstore ever since the reunion. People wanted to keep in touch, so they'd buy a book every time they came by. I couldn't ask for anything more than this.
