Saturdays

Set in AU

Saturdays were Cas's absolute favorite.

They were Dean's favorite too, but Cas loved them more.

Cas was a teacher at the local high school, and Dean ran a mechanic's shop in town, but the two always had Saturdays off together. It was the designated day for the pair to be together, and it had been their little tradition since they'd gotten married.

According to Cas, Saturday began the minute he walked in the door on Friday afternoon, and it ended the minute their alarm clock started blaring on Sunday morning. But all the hours in between were nothing but pure heaven.

Cas woke up slowly to the feeling of someone running their fingers through his hair. He opened his eyes to his sunlit bedroom and smiled, snuggling closer to Dean's chest.

"Morning, Cas," Dean said sleepily, his arm wrapped around his husband as he played with Cas's dark hair.

"Good morning," Cas replied, sighing happily. "I love Saturdays."

"I know you do," Dean grinned. "What's on the agenda for today then?"

"Hmmmmm," Cas said lazily. "Breakfast?"

"But that requires leaving this bed."

"You're right. We should skip breakfast."

"Hell no, breakfast is essential."

"Well we can't have breakfast without getting out of bed, and I don't know about you, but I don't want to get out of bed."

"Well then I guess we'll just have to stay in bed until we're fully awake, and then I'll make you breakfast."

"You don't have to do that- I'll help."

"Angel, you make breakfast for me Monday through Friday all year. Saturdays are payback."

"Yeah, but you always make dinner, so we're even."

"Then I guess you're making dinner."

"How about we just start with breakfast?"

"Okay, but we gotta get up then." Cas whined at the thought, snuggling closer to Dean in protest.

"You're such a little snuggle puppy," Dean muttered, kissing him.

"If you're going to be this comfortable, then I'm going to be a cuddle monster." Cas insisted, kissing him back.

"I have no problem with that."

"I know you don't." Cas kissed him again, and Dean rolled over, hovering over Cas as they kissed.

After a heated make out session, they reluctantly scrambled out of bed, and headed into the kitchen, where Dean switched on a radio and started making breakfast while Cas sat at the counter, content to watch his husband dance around, singing along as he made scrambled eggs.

"All our times have come," Dean started singing, using a wooden spoon as a microphone. "Here but now they're gone, Seasons don't fear the reaper, Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain, we can be like they are, Come on baby, don't fear the reaper, Baby take my hand, don't fear the reaper, We'll be able to fly, don't fear the reaper, Baby I'm your man...." He poured the mixture of eggs and cheese into a frying pan, humming along to the guitar.

He spun around to look at Cas, smirking.

"Valentine is done, Here but now they're gone," Ditching the wooden spoon, Dean held out his hand, and Cas shook his head, smiling and took it. Dean pulled him off his seat, spinning Cas around the kitchen as the Blue Oyster Cult kept singing. "Romeo and Juliet, Are together in eternity, Romeo and Juliet, 40, 000 men and women everyday, Like Romeo and Juliet, 40, 000 men and women everyday, Redefine happiness, Another 40, 000 coming everyday, We can be like they are, Come on baby, don't fear the reaper, Baby take my hand, don't fear the reaper, We'll be able to fly, don't fear the reaper, Baby I'm your man...."

They paused in their dancing once the song ended and Dean flew back over to the eggs, making sure they weren't burnt as he dumped them on a plate and handed Cas his breakfast.

"You're ridiculous," Cas commented. Dean smirked.

"Oh shush, you love me."

"That I do," Cas agreed. The radio kept playing as they ate, the station a perfect mix of Classic rock that Dean adored.

It was Cas that pulled Dean into their living room after they finished breakfast, and the pair kept dancing, swaying back and forth together and spinning, soft, happy smiles on their faces as an Animals song played in the background.

"Oh mother, tell your children," Dean kept singing softly. He couldn't help it. Not when he knew all the words. "Not to do what I have done. Spend your lives in sin and misery, In the House of the Rising Sun.....  Well, I got one foot on the platform, The other foot on the train, I'm goin' back to New Orleans, To wear that ball and chain...."

Once they were danced out, Dean collapsed on the couch, clicking on cartoons because why not, they're grown men, they can watch whatever they want, and Cas curled up on top of Dean on couch like a cat, Dean wrapping an arm around him like he was a purring cat laying in his lap.

"The Simpsons are better then Family Guy," Cas declared. Dean gasped.

"How dare you- Family Guy is way better."

"Family Guy is nothing but a darker, dirtier ripoff of the Simpsons, whereas the Simpsons is a classic show that's been on for decades!"

"Family Guy just says all the things the Simpsons are too afraid to!"

"Family Guy is dumb."

"Oh yeah? Who's your favorite character?"

"Stewie. Who's your favorite Simpson?"

"Maggie."

".....We're totally soulmates."

"Fuck yeah, we are."

"What do you want to do now?"

"Hmmmmmm," Dean said lazily. "We should take a shower."

"Why?"

"Because.... Shower reasons,"

"Really? Shower reasons?" Dean raised an eyebrow.

"Because I wanna screw. Is that better?" Cas smiled.

"Yes. Yes it is."

*******

"This is a stupid game," Cas declared.

"No, it'll be fuuuun," Dean objected. He and Cas were lounging in their bed, lazily playing a game of Go-fish.

"Have any threes?"

"Go-Fish." Cas groaned and grabbed a card. "Just try it. I bet you know more than you think."

"Alright." The game was Dean's idea. You had to say a song lyric, and the other person had to name the song and the band. For someone like Dean, who worshipped classic rock, it was easy. "You start."

"Ummmm," Dean smirked. "Taste so good, brings a tear to your eye."

"SWEET CHERRY PIE!" Cas bellowed. "Warrant! Cherry pie!"

"See you know this!"

"I only know that song because you would play it on EVERY DATE we went on."

"Well you're my cherry pie, I had to play it for you."

"You made it my theme song."

"It is your theme song."

"Uh huh."

"Your turn."

"Hmmm," Cas thought for a moment, trying to find a difficult one for Dean. "I'm bettin' on the dice I'm tossin', I'm gonna have a fantasy,"

"Aerosmith, Love in an Elevator!"

"HOW."

"Love in an elevator," Dean started singing. " Lovin it up when I'm goin down."

"Your turn. "

"We don't need no-"

"PINK FLOYD. Another brick in the wall."

"I'm let loose, from the noose."

"AC/DC, Back in Black." Dean grinned.

"I've taught you well, young Padawan."

"You're ridiculous."

"And you're my cherry pie." Cas smiled.

"Love you too."

"What do you love more- me or Saturdays?" Cas thought for a moment.

"Saturdays with you."

"Good choice."
