Hands

Set in AU

It was the closest thing to Woodstock Dean Winchester would ever experience. A huge music festival, right in the middle of a huge field in Kansas. Bands played nonstop, music of all genres as people danced, sang along, and had fun. There were tents and stall from people selling T-shirts and other stuff from all the bands, CD's, the occasional drug stall, and food and drinks.

People were running around like crazy, everyone having a great time while music blasted through the air.

It was Dean's perfect idea of heaven. It was ecstasy. Adrenaline. It made people do wild and crazy things they would never do anywhere else.

It was a music festival.

Dean was among the crowd, rocking out to Folk pop singer, when he spotted him across the crowd. The singer's words seemed to slow down as Dean stopped and took in the sight before him.

We watched the bands until the stars burn out the morning sky

A handsome man with wild dark hair and blue eyes that stared right back at Dean. For some reason, Dean found himself making his way through the crowd to the man. They didn't talk as they met each other. The man just took his hand and let him away from the crowd.

But no matter how far away from the crowd you went, you could still hear the song playing.

You dragged me in became the skin that keeps me warm at night

All that you left me was a number, on the back of my hand

They ended up behind one of the stalls, and Dean suddenly found himself lip locked with the man. He didn't know what he was doing, but it just felt right. That might have just been the adrenaline of the festival, though, but he really didn't care.

I kissed the poison on your lips till I was paralyzed

Now all the chemicals are burning right between my eyes

After a rather heated make out session, they make their way back to the crowd. The man pulled a sharpie out of hid pocket and wrote a number down on Dean's hand, winking at him.

"I'm Cas," He grinned.

"Dean," He replied breathlessly. Dean didn't really believe in love at first sight, but holy hell was this guy something.

All that you left me was a number, on the back of my hand

I got nothing Woohoo Woohoo

So I've been walking I'm gonna find you

Through every backstreet I will run through Ooo

I count the days Ooo till I carry you home

Your hand in my hand Woohoo Woohoo Hoo

They jumped back into the crowd together, dancing and singing along with each other. Dean only became more intoxicated with Cas as the music kept playing. It was impossible not to be drawn in. He was like a siren, and Dean was all too willing to give in.

Let's slip away I know a place some where outside of town

"Come with me," Cas had whispered in his ear. Dean had clung to his hand, but the crowd was strong and he lost his grip, Cas fading away.

I lost your grip out in the rain amongst a raging crowd

And all your numbers started fading from the back of my hand

It was the last day of the festival, and Dean spent the rest of the time searching for Cas. He hadn't brought his phone with him to the concert, so he couldn't just call.

But he was gone. Like he had disappeared. Dean wandered, lost for the rest of the festival.

He wasn't willing to just let Cas kiss and leave like that. Not when he'd been so intoxicating. Not when he made Dean;s heart beat faster than it ever had.

I got nothing Woohoo Woohoo

So I've been walking I'm gonna find you

Through every backstreet I will run though Ooo

But it was no use. Cas was gone. Dean went home after the concert, the sharpie number fading off his hand.

He had called the number, but some random guy had answered. Not Cas.

It was useless now.

I count the days ooo till I carry you home

Dean didn't know why he couldn't just let it go. Why Cas was different. Why all he wanted was to find him and see him again.

But he barely knew the guy. He had no way to find him.

.....Or did he?

Your hand in my hand yeah Woohoo Woohoo Hoo

Woohoo Woohoo yeah

Woohoo Woohoo yeah

Woohoo Woohoo yeah

Dean knew it was wrong. It was stalkerish and weird, but he did it anyways.

Social media was first. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, he put out a call for anyone who knew anyone even called Cas.

Three Cassies, Two Cassidy's, and one Cassian later, no Cas.

But the festival had been huge in Kansas. Dean hadn't met anyone there that wasn't from Kansas. Maybe Cas lived nearby. Maybe he drove one of the big highways.

It was a chance Dean was willing to take.

Till I carry you home

Woohoo Woohoo yeah

He put up a billboard, asking for Cas. He even put his phone number on it, thankful nobody else called it.

Dean thought it was hopeless at this point. He was just losing his mind. There was no way he'd find Cas. It was better to just move on.

There was another festival, a smaller one, this weekend. He'd go, and maybe find a new Cas. This time he'd make sure the phone number working though.

Woohoo Woohoo yeah

Woohoo Woohoo yeah

Cas hadn't seen any of the messages Dean had sent out, but he still remembered him. The man from the festival. The guy that looked at him like he was made of gold. The one who was sweet, who kissed like fire, and smelled like leather and warm apples.

Cas didn't understand why he hadn't called. He had sent out messages too, but hadn't heard back.

He just figured Dean wasn't interested.

Until Cas's brother called him up.

Till I carry you home

"Cas, you've got to see this." Gabriel declared, sounding stunned.

"What is it?"

"There's a freaking billboard on the highway asking about you."

"What?"

"There is a billboard that says Hey Cas, I'm the guy from Lawrence Music Fest. I'm still looking in the crowd for you. There's a phone number too."

"Oh my god."

"What are you going to do?"

Cas thought for a moment.

There was another festival this weekend, he knew.

He had Gabriel copy down the phone number, but Cas didn't call.

He went to the concert instead.

So I've been walking I'm gonna find you

Same singer, same song. Dean remembered it from the festival.

He looked through the crowd, not sure what he was expecting to see. Until a man grabbed his hand. A man with wild dark hair, and blue eyes.

Through every backstreet I will run through Ooo

They stared at each other, until Dean stepped closer, and kissed him.

I count the days ooo till I carry you home

They kissed in the middle of the crowd, wrapped around each other, music blasting.

Your hand in my hand Woohoo Woohoo Hooo

They never lost each other in the crowd again.
