Peridition
Dean: Sam help me burn all these.
Narrator: Sam sat in the garage, feet crossed and up with a newspaper in hand. He barely glanced over the paper at Dean, before he turned the page.
Sam: Nah, looks like you're handling it well. You're almost done, anyway.
Dean: *groans* Come on, Sammy. Don't you just love the smell of burning salt, corpses, and metal at dusk?
Narrator: Sam just smiled and sipped his beer. Dean finished his task and wiped his hands with a oil stained rag. He sat on the hood on the impala. Sam threw his paper to the side and brought a beer over to Dean. Dean twisted the cap off and clinked bottles with his brother.
Dean: When do you think Cas will get back?
Sam: *glancing at Dean with a smirk* He's only been gone for 2 days. He said he'd be back tomorrow. You know that, Dean.
Dean: *shrugging* Maybe I just forgot.
Sam: Pfft, doubt it. Admit it, you miss him.
Dean: *blushing* What? No, I don't miss him I just...wish he was here.
Sam: That's missing someone, Dean.
Dean: *sipping his beer* Oh, eat me, Sam.
Narrator: The two sat in silence for what seemed like hours, when it was only about 2 minutes. In those 2 minutes, Sam thought about Charlie and Dean thought about Cas. Both brothers had a crush on each.
Sam: You know he has a massive crush on you, right?
Narrator: Dean chokes on his beer, spitting in out. He wipes his mouth with the back of his hand and stares at Sam.
Dean: Cas. A crush. On me?
Sam: *nods*
Dean: Can angels even be gay?
Sam: *shrugs* I guess so. He has it bad for you, that's all I know.
Narrator: Sam didn't know it yet, but Dean loved Cas as much as Cas loved Dean. Dean blushed a little, and a few more seconds of silence went by.
Dean: Uh...Sammy?
Sam: *rolls eyes* Yeah?
Dean: Can I tell you something?
Sam: That even a question?
Narrator: Again, Sam doesn't know it, but Dean will be revealing a secret that will change the game forever.
Dean: Sam I like Cas too.
Narrator: Dean fully expected Sam to freak. Jump around, squeal, maybe tease him. But no. Sam just sat back and nodded.
Sam: I was hoping you did. You two would be such a cute couple, you know.
Narrator: Dean just sits looking at his brother, dumbfounded.
Dean: That's it?
Sam: What's it?
Dean: *shakes his head*
Sam: How long have you had a crush on him?
Dean: Few months now, maybe longer. *sips beer, his leg bouncing*
Narrator: Sam was about to say that Cas had had feelings for Dean since the day they met, when a small yellow car pulled up the the garage. The boys recognized it easily, it was Charlie's. There was someone in the passenger seat, a bloody, and bruised man. His trenchcoat torn and hair messed up. Sam didn't seem to recognize him, but Dean knew in seconds.
Dean: Oh my god, that's Cas!
Narrator: Dean ran over to the car and yanked the door open before the car had came to a stop. Dean pulled Cas out of the car, being sure not to hurt him. Once Dean had Cas on and open spot on the ground, he shot up and looked at Charlie wildly.
Dean: What the hell happened to him?
Charlie: *throwing her hands up in defense* I was just driving home, when I saw him on the side of the road. I picked him up and drove here as fast as I could.
Narrator: Charlie was in obvious distress, and Sam wanted to help. Even though Sam new she was gay, he was going to do his best to comfort her. They were friends after all. As soon as Sam put his arm around her, Charlie hugged him tightly.
Dean: Okay, that's great. But it's not what I asked. What. Happened. To Him.
Cas: D-Dean...
Narrator: Now hearing Cas's voice, he dropped to the ground, wanting to cradle Cas.
Dean: What is it, Cas? What happened to you?
Cas: *looking up at Dean, worriedly* I lost...my grace.
Narrator: Now Sam pulled away from Charlie. She tighten her sweatshirt around her.
Charlie: He was saying the same thing to me when I picked him up. I don't understand what he means.
Narrator: Sam's face went white, Dean's red. They both new what had happened.
Sam: Y-you lost your grace, Cas?
Dean: Who the hell did this to you? I'm going to kick their angel ass.
Narrator: Cas put his hand up to stop them.
Cas: It was the other angels...my brothers. (((Sorry Lily, taking your idea))) They said I seemed "too human." I had also betrayed them one too many times, so they thought my grace was useless. They took it from me...now I'm just a human.
Narrator: Dean looked up at Sam. He didn't know what to do. Sam didn't know what to do either.
Dean: So...everything you had is just...gone? The wings, teleportation, all gone?
Narrator: Cas nodded, tears stinging his sleep deprived eyes.
Cas: It's all gone. I'm just a vessel. You might as well call me Jimmy Novak.
Narrator: Charlie rose a finger, about to ask who Jimmy was. Sam looked at her and mouthed, "not now."
Cas: Dean...I don't admit things like this, but...I'm scared. I'm not ready to be a human again. I already feel so alone.
Narrator: Dean pulled Cas into a tight hug, making sure to be careful of his back.
Dean: I won't let you be alone, Cassy. I'm right here. You can stay with us until you get better, or forever if you want.
Narrator: Cas broke down, sobbing. Dean stroked his hair, trying to soothe him. They rocked a little, Sam motioned towards Charlie to meet him behind the garage. Sam caught Dean's eyes and pointed to where Charlie was heading, Dean nodded slightly. Once Sam was with Charlie, she exploded questions flying like gnats.
Charlie: Oh my gosh, I have so many questions. Who's Jimmy Novak? What's grace? What's wrong with Castiel? Who are his brothers? Why did I see angel wings burnt into the ground when I found Cas?
Narrator: Sam waved his hands in front of her face. He heard the last question and sighed. Cas really did lose his grace...
Sam: I could try to explain it to you, but it would take so long.
Narrator: Charlie looked up at Sam, her blue eyes big and pleading. She was practically jumping up and down. Sam sighed, and decided to explain it all. When Sam finally finished telling her about the wing marks, she almost cried.
Charlie: The poor angel...That's awful. Does it hurt him?
Sam: If the books and Cas were right, he should have big, tender bruises were his wings were. So yeah, it should be very painful.
Charlie: Is there anything I can do to help? I'll gladly stay.
Sam: *smiling* Thanks, Charlie. We'll take any help we can get. It's going to be a long process getting him back on his feet.
Narrator: Sam and Charlie walked back over to see how Dean and Cas were doing. Sam half expected Cas to be crying still, half expected Dean and Cas to be in the house. Surprise, surprise! Dean and Castiel were in the same sport on the ground...making out. Sam smiled brightly, and wanted to leave them be. He tried to get Charlie out of there so they couldn't disturbe them but her fangirl attack could not be surpressed.
Charlie: *squealed like...well...a fangirl*
Sam: *facepalms*
Narrator: Dean and Cas pulled away from each other quickly. Both were bright red in the face. Dean looked at anything but Sam, and Cas just stared at the ground.
Sam: *grinning* I can't tell if you two are red from blush or red from lack of air.
Narrator: Sam laughed and Charlie squealed again.
Charlie: *squealing* Destiel! DESTIEL!
Narrator: Dean and Cas both looked at her, Cas doing his squinty eyes, Dean just plain confused.
Dean: Uh...who's...Destiel?
Cas: Yes. Dean, maybe she means me. My name is Castiel. With a C.
Charlie: *shaking head, giggling* No! That's your ship name! Destiel. Dean and Castiel! Get it?
Narrator: Dean and Cas looked at each other, totally lost. They both nodded just to get on with it. Charlie quickly snapped a picture of the two.
Charlie: *typing frantically* I am soo posting this on Tumblr.
Sam: Well, "Destiel" aside. I seems you two got...comfortable, with each other.
Narrator: Dean and Cas blushed.
Dean: *mumbling* I figured by telling him now, it would make transitioning over easier. For both of us.
Narrator: Sam grinned. His brother was growing up. Dean never really commited to a relationship, except with Lisa. Dean was finally starting to understand.
Charlie: Sam, Dean, Cas? Do you want me to stay? I'll do whatever.
Sam: That's okay, Charlie. *glancing over at Dean and Cas snuggling* I think we'll be just fine.
Charlie: Then I'll see you around bitches. *flashes live long and prosper sign*
Narrator: Charlie goes back to her car and drives off. Sam pulls 3 pictures from his flannel pocket. Pictures of Jessica, Ruby, and Charlie. Jess and Ruby were gone, Charlie...let's face the facts. Sam and her were never getting anywhere. Probably because Charlie was gay. He'd accepted it, and put the pictures back in his pocket. He turned to Dean and Cas. Dean was helping Cas up off the ground. Soon enough, Cas was clean, fed, and asleep. Dean didn't leave his bedside.
Sam: *yawning and whispering* Dean...it's 1 in the morning. We're supposed to go on a hunt tomorrow.
Dean: Not leaving until he's awake.
Narrator: Sam smiled and left the room without another word. 4 am rolled around and Dean couldn't keep his eyes open. He kissed Cas's forehead before going to his room.
Dean: You'll always be my angel Cas. And when angels fall, someone has to pick them up.
Narrator: Dean left the room after glancing at him one more time, he smiled and returned to his room. Cas smiled, he had never been asleep. He just liked listening to Dean talking to him. Castiel was still getting used to the whole sleep thing. Cas frowned again, forgetting one detail. Dean wouldn't remember this. Today marked 4 Earth months, and 40 hell years. It was time to raise him from perdition. Dean Winchester is saved.
