"So which car is yours?" Castiel had asked when they reached the parking lot, "Oh babys much more than a car... There she is!" Dean spouted when he spotted his beloved car.
They walked up to a shiny black Chevy Impala. Castiels face wore an admiring expression as he looked at the vehicle. They got in and before Castiel could think how weird it was to call your car baby Dean interrupted his thoughts,
"Yeah my dad gave her to me and we fixed her up, kinda our little project." Castiel noticed how Dean didn't really talk about his family that much. Dean realized that Castiel would probably bring it up sooner or later.
"Hey Dean, how come you don't talk much about your family?" Castiel asked, a little wary about his question,
"Well there's not a lot to talk about, my mom died when I was four- barley remember her, then there's Sam, my brother, and my dad, he's usually away on business, threw himself into his work after the incident." Dean was just waiting for Castiel to apologize or give him fake sympathy like most people do, but no Castiel surprised him on this, his eyes and body language showed that he held a large amount of sympathy and understatement for Deans past.
As if sensing Deans need to move the attention away from himself Castiel answered his own question to try and relieve tension.
"Well I'm only child I got a half brother, Gabe, whose like 23, my mom left when I was born-I never met her, my dad kinda just became an alcoholic despite being a hard core religion freak." People didn't usually open up around me, Dean thought.
They talked and joked around before they got to Sams school. Once Dean pulled into the parking lot he walked towards the entrance of the school before returning with a brown haired preteen, almost reaching Deans shoulder.
After picking Sammy up from his school they headed home, Sam and Castiel had hit it off. When they got home Sam went off to go do his homework.
