chapter 2

Envy hated it. Everything. At first, he didn't mind. Probably because everything was new he didn't have any words but after a few weeks he couldn't take it anymore. It was a Sunday. His Father would be picking him up from Dante's custody to take him back to Trisha's. Envy didn't really mind Dante. He was surprised at first, she was in the body she was born with. What didn't suprise him is how she tended to flirt with him when he arrived. Of course, his father ignored her completely. Sometimes Envy wondered if he actually cared who he was with. They hadn't talked. Rather, Envy refused to talk to him. Hohenhim seemed to understand and didn't make any attempts in conversation, until today.

"William. We have to talk." Envy sat in the back of the vehicle giving him a glare in response. Hohenhim pulled the vehicle to the side of the road and parked. He looked back to face his son. "William."

"What?" He hissed.

"I know you're mad at me. And I'm fine with that. But you don't need to take it out on Edward, Alphonse, or Trisha. Do you understand?" Envy gave no response. "You have no reason to hate them. They welcomed you with open arms."

"I have every reason."

"And what's that?"

"You abandoned me for them. You left Dante for them. You treat them like they are the most wonderful things in world and you cast me aside!" Envy yelled.

"Will..."

"Don't call me that! Especially not you!" His father sighed.

"Your here with me aren't you?" Envy looked at him confused before he hestaintly nodded. "I didn't abandon you, William. If I did I would have left you alone with your mother."

"Buts that's exactly what you did!"

"Listen to me. I know it took a few years. But I didn't abandon you. And I haven't abandoned your mother either. I send her a check every month to help take care of her finances."

"Tsk." Envy looked away. His father didn't need to do that. Dante was filthy rich. Why did he even bother sending the money? Hohenhim sighed and turned back around starting the car and getting back on the road.

"I care about you just as much as Edward and Alphonse. I treat you differently because your older. Edward and Alphonse are still babys so they need more attention than any other phase in there life. I trust you, because your seven. And I hoped you could help Trisha while I'm away at work."

"So your using me?" Envy sighed. He didn't like the thought of being used against his will.

"No. I never said you had to....What could I do to make it up to you?"

"So your bribing me?"

"William its-" Envy interrupted.

"I want you." This wasn't apart of his plan. Yet he said it anyway. He wasn't going to hold back anything from his father, but this was a trap. He knew it. One of his father's tricks.

"Excuse me?" Hohenhim almost slammed the breaks.

"I want you." Envy repeated. "You. Me. With no Edward or Alphonse. No Trisha either. Just us hanging out together." Hohenhim was suprised with his request. Kids his age would ask for objects or obsessions, anything money can buy. William was a strange child, that's for sure. The son who hated his father wanted to hang out with him? It made no sense. Envy was almost suprised by his own request. Hohenhim thought for a moment.

"Alright. How about this." Hohenhim laid down his cards. "Once a month you and me can have a special father-son day. Just the two of us." Envy hesitated.

"Deal."

The rest of the ride was silent. It made Envy anxious. In the past, well, his past the only time he and his father where alone is when he was getting beaten. His Father never even made time for him. He supposed, deep down inside, he was happy. Everything was being set in place. When the car stopped he immediately removed his seat belt and headed in side. Hohenhim really didn't understand his kid.
