It felt weird being back.

Though it hadn't been long, it still felt weird to be here once again. Everyone in school pretty much knew what happened to my parents.

I got a lot of sad, sympathetic looks when I entered school. It was getting annoying and I wasn't fond of being the center of attention.

Given the recent events, I was sure there will be more sad, troubling news this school year. I was just going to take it day by day and hope for the best.

Currently, everyone was sitting and eating in the great hall and the new year 1 students had just been sorted into their houses.

Poor kids don't know what the outcome will be this year and I was sure most of them are petrified.

I was staring at my plate of roasted beef with mash and greens, taking small bites of my food. As good as the food was, my mind was all over the place.

"DeLora."

I looked up and it was Remus who called my name. The boys were seated near me, having Peter and James next to me and Remus and Sirius sitting in front of me.

"You ok?"

I nodded, not wanting to say much. He hummed, "I'm sure this school year will be ok. Not great, but ok."

I shrugged, "I'm just going to take it day by day."

James chimed in, "Well as long as quidditch doesn't get canceled, I'm fine with it. Right Sirius?"

I looked over at Sirius as he took a sip of his drink and shrugged, "I don't care."

James rolled his eyes but we all continued eating. Remus asked me, "Well how was your summer break?"

"Oh umm... not much really. Helping my aunt with the garden. Going to different book stores and record shops-"

"Record shops?"

Oh right, some wizards don't really go into the muggle world much. I explained, "It's where they sell vinyl records."

"Oh really? Like music records? I know a few bands like Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, etc. but I want to know more. Sirius introduced me to those bands."

Sirius had been to the muggle world? That was strange since his family was known to be anti-muggles.

"Yeah, I'd be happy to show you. I actually brought a few of my records and my record player with me," I smiled a bit as I took a bite of my food.

"May I have of your attention please?" Professor McGonagall announced and we all then stopped talking. Everyone's head turned towards the front of the podium.

"Professor Dumbledore would like to share a few words with you all."

Professor Dumbledore stood up from his seat and walked towards the front of the podium.

He spoke, "Welcome back to another year at Hogwarts. You've all heard the rumors but I just want to say, Hogwarts is safe. But, there will be some slight changes this year. All first years are strictly forbidden from entering the dark forest. There will also be a strict curfew that will be enforced and all head students from each house are in charge of making sure that all students are in their rooms and to report it back to the head professor. Quidditch games and school activities will still be moving forward. If the ministry makes any changes, I will notify you all immediately."

Everyone around looked surprised and angry but I wasn't. I knew this would happen coming into the new school year due to him.

He was able to attack and fly under the radar with the help of his followers. More people were joining him and what he stood for. His views were cruel and horrible and it angered me that people joined him.

People like my parents however did not agree to those views. But people like the Black or Malfoy family held those views and of course supported him.

Speaking of horrible people, I heard quiet snickers from the Slytherin table. I turned my head around and of course, Piper Sinclair, was giggling and giving me an evil look.

Sinclair and I have never liked each other from the start. More like she has never liked me and I never understood why. But I don't care and I don't like her either. Acting like the head queen of Slytherin house alongside Lucius Malfoy, Severus Snape, and Regulus Black.

I knew they were most likely joyful with the news and the hell they were going to bring this year would probably be worse than before.

Can't wait for that.

I mouthed to Sinclair, "Bitch."

She stopped giggling and continued to glare at me. I was not intimidated by her or anyone, she can fall down the grand staircase for all I care.

Anyone would pay to see that, especially me.

I turned back around and noticed Sirius looking over me and glaring at someone behind me. I turned my head back around to see who it was and it was his brother Regulus.

He glared back at Sirius but when I looked at him, he turned his attention to me. A smirk appeared on his face as he grabbed his cup and took a sip of his drink, his eyes still focused on me.

I turned away once again and I looked back at Sirius, who was now staring at me but not in a glaring way. He had a blank expression as his eyes met mine.

I couldn't read much looking into his eyes. Just dark and empty almost. For the first time, he spoke to me.

"Stay away from Regulus."

I was taken aback from his tone of voice and what he told me. I haven't heard him speak much before but I knew he was cold and distant, far different from the others.

Still wondering how they were friends honestly.

Before I could respond, Sirius stood up and walked away, exiting the great hall. I watched him leave while everyone else continued eating.

I looked at Remus and he had a small smile, "Don't mind him, he's uh... always been like this. But do take his advice though."

I grabbed my cup and took a sip of my water, "Ok."

We continued eating and the 3 boys were chatting amongst themselves but my mind trailed back to Sirius and what he told me.

There was more to Sirius that was hidden away and possibly for a good reason.

Hopefully I'll get more information about Sirius.
