(Yoongi's POV)
"You needed me?" PD nim turns to face me with a pleased grin when my voice rings in his ears.
"Yoongi-ya!" He chuckles heartily, slapping a large hand on my shoulder, like that of a proud father to his son. I fix my gaze on the floor, unsure of how to react to his compliments and constant chatter. Not even the slightest smile on my lips, but instead a frown as my mind becomes hazy.
The old man eyes me with concern, noticing my odd behavior. "This song will be a hit! I feel it." He laughs, settling himself once more in the charcoal coloured, leather office chair in front of his desk.
"We'll be releasing the trailer next week as a promotion for the next album. A teaser if you will." I nod, absorbing all the information he'd just dished out.
"Thank you." I bow, my words sincere as they roll off my tongue.
"No, no." He shakes his head, hands folding together as he propped his chin on them with a thoughtful expression. "I'm just sharing your product with the world."
My brows furrow, an expression of uncertainty written across my face as I think about what PD nim had said. I brush off my opinion, hiding my it and thanking the old man once more before exiting the office.
Trudging to the front exit, I find myself before a window, the scenery of the busy streets of Seoul blurring past.
The song isn't a product... An irritated grin pulls the edges of my lips as my pitiful reflection returns my stare in the window before me; eyes small, lips trembling and a mop of bleached hair, damp from the rain outside.
With a sigh, I sweep back my bleached hair, tongue washing over my bottom lip. A fog becomes apparent on the glass from my steamy breath in contrast to the rainy weather outside.
But then again, when becoming a singer, I signed myself up for this slavery. I chose to market my face.
Yet still...
A cold sensation trickles down my index finger as it lands on the window, tracing the outline of a heart in the small patch of white, which had become my canvas.
It's my feelings...
(Y/N'S POV)
Jungkook...
You roll over onto your side, staring the wall in front of you; an intense craving and yearning for Jungkook's touch replacing your senses, impairing you to reality. He had left early in the morning for recording and wouldn't be back for another couple of hours.
Clutching the silky bed sheets which clung to your body, a sigh escapes your lips.
"I miss you..." You whisper huskily, arms wrapping around your body in attempt to comfort yourself. The warmth of your hands spreading itself throughout your arms, a shiver crawling down your spine.
But still... It isn't the same.
Suddenly, your phone rings, snapping you out of your clouded thoughts. Without even the slightest hesitation, you slide your finger across the screen, accepting the call.
Caller ID
Yoongi Oppa
"M-mm? Oppa?" You stutter, sitting up, resting your head against the palms of your soft hands. You chew on your bottom lip nervously, butterflies fluttering freely throughout the walls of your stomach.
"Y/N..." His husky voice calls. Heat rushes to your cheeks as the image of his gummy smile fills your mind, forcing your lips to curl upwards with anticipation. "Are you free tonight?"
"Yeah." You admit, gaze turning to your feet which were moving side to side playfully; a warm sensation bubbling within your chest as your heart pounds madly due to his question.
"Well... Uh... I Mean..." He pauses, inhaling a sharp breath of air. "My song will be released in a week and I want to celebrate."
"That's great news Oppa! We have to celebrate! Let me call all the other members and-"
"No Y/N..." He interrupts, a small, awkward silence following, before he speaks once more. "I want to celebrate alone... With you."
You swallow the large lump forming in your throat, his words echoing throughout your mind. "A-alone w-with me?" You blurt, tripping over your words like an idiot.
"Yeah," He hums sheepishly. "Just you and me."
"I-I'll come then. Don't go anywhere too expensive though. I don't think my wallet can handle it." You warn jokingly trying to cover your embarrassment, earning a soft chuckle from him in response.
"Mmm. I won't. Now, look out your window."
You purse your lips in confusion, brows knitting together tightly, as you approach the windowsill in the front of the room. Opening the blinds, a gasp escapes your lips as the boy in mint hair waves from outside with an innocent smile.
Cracking your window open, you yell, "Just a sec! I'll be there soon!" You giggle, gaze softening as you make eye contact with the man casually perched against a poll, a black hoodie casting a shadow along his face. He winks in your direction, pulling out the petite pink lollipop trapped within his mouth, tongue sucking the sweet and sticky substance off his lips lazily.
Frazzled, you rush to gather your things, before heading out to meet Yoongi in the parking lot. "Yoongi Oppa~!" You sing happily, trotting over to his side, sliding your hand comfortably in your pockets.
Then, the sudden realization that you left your wallet at your place, makes a startling appearance with a vengeance, ruining your mood. "Aish..." You curse under your breath, ruffling your hair in frustration at your own forgetfulness.
"What is it?" Yoongi asks, stopping in his tracks to face you. His ebony orbs staring into yours intensely, demanding an answer.
You rub the nape of your neck in embarrassment. "I... Uh... Sorta forgot my wallet... Hehe." You flash Yoongi a cheeky smile, the corners of your eyes tilting upowards to form that eye-smile which he adored so much.
"Don't worry, I'll pay." He answered, giving you a subtle grin.
"But Oppa It's your celebration! I have to-!" He shoves his sucker into your mouth, preventing you from further protesting. You freeze unable to utter a single word as he walks off; completely unaffected.
D-did he j-j-just indirectly kiss me?
The mere thought of his saliva on the sweet candy entering your mouth, sends a scarlet blush raging across your face along with a wave of intense heat.
He comes to a halt, turning to face you, who remained frozen in place and just stared at him wide eyed. "Are you coming or not?" A gleam of amusement twinkling in his eyes as he stared at your petrified figure.
Shaking your head, you snap back to reality. "M-mm! Wait for me!"
Surely he didn't mean any of this that way right?
(Yoongi's POV)
We're greeted by the funky melody of piano and bass, as we enter the cozy bar festooned with different golden lights. A dazzling smile graces Y/N's lips as she loops her frail arms with mine. I avert my gaze, hiding the large grin threatening to control my expression, my ears stained a noticeable shade of fuchsia.
A young waitress greets us, leading us to our table before handing us our menus. We thank her before she walks off into the kitchen. I giggle when examining Y/N struggle to take off her rain jacket, her fingers unable to grasp the buttons properly.
I chuckle, placing myself by her side. "Let me help you." She tilts her head upwards, gaze meeting mine, eyes so innocent as I inch closer to her small frame. She studies my every movement, not even sparing a single moment to blink. My slender fingers land on the first button near her neck, undoing it instantly with ease. Then, sliding to the second, the result the exact the same as the first.
Now on the third, near her chest, my hand freezes. With a single a deep breath, I force my finger to clasp the circular piece of plastic. I stifle an awkward laugh when the button won't go through the loop of thread. "Guess this is harder than it looks."
She fidgets uncomfortably, still maintaining eye contact with me despite the blush appearing on her cheeks. I gulp hard, trying once more to undo this situation I've created for ourselves.
So much for being smooth...
Finally removing the last button from the loop, I circle around her figure, remaining behind her, waiting patiently. She cocks her head towards me, a questioning look on her face.
"Your coat." I clarify. Her lips part in surprise and shock, like that of a deer caught in headlights. A smirk of amusement becoming present on my face as she slides the thick material off her body, exposing her pale shoulders in the breezy summer dress that covered her body. The sheer fabric provoking with its see-throughness, allowing me a perfect view of her back for me to see. Shaking my head, hanging her coat on the back of her chair. She takes a seat, eyeing me curiously.
"Did you dress up for me?" I snicker, settling into the seat across from her.
"Well aren't you a gentleman," she rolls her eyes, laughter erupting from her lips as she flips though the menu. Yet in the silence, instead of looking through the menu, I spared secret glances at the girl in front of me; the concentration in her eyes, somehow capturing me.
"Yoongi Oppa, you're staring." She points out, giggling. A twinkle of amusement present in her eyes as she looked at my flustered expression. I clear my throat, hands folding together. "No I wasn't."
She arches an eyebrow, a dubious smile painting the edge of her lips. "Mhm... Are you sure about that?" She sasses, twirling her finger around a strand of her hair.
Gulping hard, I nod. "Yeah. I mean... Well doesn't the girl over there look kind of familiar?" I try changing the topic. My method, thankfully working as Y/N fell for it, spinning around to look behind herself.
Her jaw hangs wide open, eyes widening knowingly.
"What is it?" I ask in a whisper.
(Bitna's POV)
Aish... I'm an idiot.
You had one job Bitna, and fate even gave me the extra chance to ask for his name. Yet you still couldn't even do that. I mentally slap myself.
Urgh... It's only been twice that I've seen that man but...
I miss him...
"Bitna!" A voice calls out, startling me from my daze. My eyes widen, then soften when noticing the girl waving at me was no other than Y/N.
"Come here." She giggles, signaling for me to come with her index finger. Nodding, I trot over to her side. She greets me with a kind smile.
"What are you doing here?" I blurt, unable to contain the excitement in my face. It's been awhile since I've seen Y/N and it feels great to see her again for the first time in a few weeks. Especially after all the drama that happened when her and Jungkook's relationship went viral.
"We're celebrating his comeback," My jaw drops, when she gestures to the man sitting in front of her... with that same, minty green hair. My heart rate rises, the air in the room suddenly becoming hotter, as his gaze meets mine. His eyes... His dark, obsidian coloured eyes... So beautiful... His lips, full and round. His jawline, soft, complimenting his pale skin.
I finally avert my gaze, forcing it to the floor to hide the moisture collecting in my eyes. Y/N smiles cheekily, "This is my friend, Yoongi. Oppa, this is Bitna. We met in the bar at Seoyoung's party." She explains.
Both the man and I bow, exchanging mild pleasantries with each other to ease the awkward atmosphere building with each passing moment.
His name...
Yoongi... I smile to myself.
That's a nice name...
"Nice to meet you." He says, extending his hand for me to shake. Hesitantly, I place my hand in his, his warmth enveloping my hands along with a tingling sensation.
After a few seconds, he retreats his hand, the warmth quickly disappearing, leaving a slight pout on my face.
What was I even expecting?
"Bitna, why don't you come sit with us?" Y/N suggests, earning a wide eyed look from Yoongi in response to her proposition. I shake my head, sensing the glares he was sending me from far away.
"No, no. We can hang out another time," I chuckle, looking the green-haired man in the eyes. "Besides, I wouldn't want to interrupt anything." I mumble, in a barely audible voice. Y/N gives me a look, wrapping her hand around my wrist. "You're sitting with us and that's final." She grins, pulling me down into the chair beside her with one swift movement.
"But-!"
"Nope. Don't wanna hear it. Ah lalalalalala." She puts her hands over her ears childishly, chanting a little song to prevent me from even attempting to protest. I roll my eyes, giving Yoongi an apologetic look.
He shrugs, shaking his head as he smiles at Y/N with that look in his eyes.
That same look... That I admire him with.
That same look... That I want him to see me with.
My heart wrenches as I observe him through my black rimmed glasses in pain. I couldn't help but even be slightly envious over the way he smiled comfortably, flashing his gums for her to see, unlike the stiff smiles he showed me.
"Ah! I forgot to pick something on the menu!" She gasps, snapping her fingers.
Yoongi giggles, his attractive laughter filling my ears for the first time. It was quiet, but definitely noticeable and contagious. "Jeez, your so forgetful." He flicks her forehead playfully.
"Yah!" She shouts, slamming her fist against the table, before folding her arms over each other. "Min Yoongi, you're seriously-!"
"Awesome? I know." He smirks, easing into his chair, sitting in an intentional arrogant posture. I can no longer hide my laughter, allowing it to escape my throat for the first time in months.
Maybe...
Just maybe...
I might have a chance with him.
~~~
"Aish Y/N! Are you an idiot? Why did you come celebrate with me when you're such a lightweight?" Yoongi huffs, slinging Y/N's arm around his shoulder, trying to lift her from her seat.
"A-Ah! Let me help you." I speak, rushing to his side, aiding him in lifting the tipsy girl onto his back. He groans as all her weight crashes down on him. "Are you alright?" I ask, placing a hand on his shoulder.
He nods, shying away from my touch.
A-ah right! Th-that's a little rash of me. We were just introduced to each other.
"Sorry." I laugh sheepishly, giving him a slight bow.
He takes a glance at the gold watch on his wrist, brows furrowing and corners of his lips turning downwards. "It's getting late," he affirmed, gaze meeting mine for the first time since Y/N passed out half an hour ago. "Let me take you home." He offers, about to pay for the bill.
I rush over to his side, slapping his hands away from the receipt. "No no. I'm paying. It's your celebration. Don't pay. I got everything."
"But-!"
"I insist." I state, slapping cash onto the table, interrupting him. He chuckles, dark orbs staring at my back as I pay the lady at the front. His hand snakes around my wrist, my eyes flying open and legs growing weak under his piercing gaze.
"If you insist to pay, then I insist on taking you home." He presses, eyes scanning me, demanding for me to oblige. I sigh, frowning. "Fine."
"Great. Let's get going." He cheers. After paying the cost of the bill, I follow him out the bar, into the busy streets. He stops. "Lead the way." He says, adjusting Y/N who was sleeping soundly on his back.
"R-R-Right." I stutter, taking the lead, walking by his side. A silence is followed, making me uncomfortable. Balling my fists in determination, I decide to be the first to start a conversation. "My house isn't very far. I can walk the whole way myself."
"Jeez you're pretty stubborn huh?" He chuckles, tone irritated. "I already said I'm taking you home."
"Right. Sorry." I bite my lip in guilt, trying to quicken the pace so I could get home faster to put myself out of my misery. At this rate, it seemed like talking to him would be nearly impossible. I roll my eyes, glancing at the houses on my left, avoiding eye contact with Yoongi.
Maybe that was the wrong topic...
Turning to him once more, I notice him smile as he gently tucks a strand of Y/N's hair behind her ear, staring at her lovingly. A sharp stabbing pain, fills my chest.
I couldn't control myself any longer, lips finally parting to ask the question I'd been wondering about all night.
(Yoongi's POV)
"Do you love her?" The girl's voice squeaks, voice trembling ever so slightly. My cheeks flush a pink from Bitna's question as my gaze remains fixed on the stone roads ahead
I inhale a deep breath of the humid air. "What makes you think that?" I stifle a laugh, disguising my true feelings through gritted teeth.
Her brows furrow, lips forming a small pout. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." She says, stopping in her tracks. My eyes widen as she laces her fingers within the fabric of my sleeve, clutching it tightly. Her dark eyes stare at me curiously as the city lights create small white boxes within her pupils. I shake off her grip, continuing my way uphill in the darkness, the only source of light being provided by the blue hue of the moon.
"It's complicated." I answer, my voice firm, knowing that me and Y/N's relationship is the most complicated math equation in the world; the answer, impossible to explain.
"Ah... Are you dating somebody? Forbidden love perhaps?" She questions, skipping by my side.
I shake my head. "Sometimes I think things would be easier if they were that way."
"It must be difficult." She mumbles, averting her gaze.
I nod, "It can be." I admit. "I mean I'm sure everyone's experience painful love before though. Celebrities aren't exceptions to it either."
She hums in response, staring at me thoughtfully. "True." She giggles, her laughter soon fading, becoming replaced with her neutral expression as she stared at the clouded sky. "Love... It's an interesting thing isn't it?" She wonders out loud, catching my attention. "It brings so much happiness, but also so much pain."
"Yeah. It does." I smile genuinely, enjoying the cold breeze washing over me, soothing my pain; even if it was just a little...
~~~
I stare at the apartment complex which towered over us in disbelief at its expensive decor, which screamed money in my face. "Guess that's it." She grins, flashing her dimples. "Thank you so much for dropping me off. I know you're busy and all..." She bows politely.
"It's fine. I'll wait for you to get inside before I leave."
"M-mm." She stutters, fishing her keys from her purse, sliding them into the lock, about to twist the nob when suddenly, she freezes, ruffling her hair.
She charges towards me, "A-ah! Wait!" She grabs hold of my hand, her cold fingers grazing my palms, sending a shiver down my spine. "Do you really not recognize me?" She asks in a whisper so desperate and melancholic that I couldn't help but face her as she remained glued in one place. She raises her chin, slender fingers closing around the rims of her black glasses, gently sliding the specs off her face.
My brows knit in confusion at the gesture. "Am I supposed to know you?" I ask.
She sighs. "Never mind." She flashes me a weak smile, trudging to her front door, her shoulders slumped over, as she dragged her feet deep into the soil with each step. "It was nice meeting you Yoongi." She sings sweetly, her mood restoring itself instantly.
"Likewise." I heave a sigh when she enters the apartment complex, succumbing to Y/N's weight which had been on my back for the longest time.
I pinch her nose playfully, earning a soft groan from her in response. "Jimin wasn't kidding when he said you were heavy," I joke.
Her eyes flutter half-way open, staring at me groggily. "Ah what the heck! I'm perfectly fine!" She slurs her words, giving me a thumbs up.
I laugh, jumping a little to adjust her figure which was falling off my back. "I'm happy," I say, words flowing out without regret. "that I still have this chance to be with you."
"Ah Oppa~~! Don't say those kinds of sad things." She whines, slapping my shoulder.
I chuckle. "Does it sound sad?"
"Mhm.." She nods, her lips forming a pout as she rests her head on my back, listening to my heartbeat. "It sounds like you're leaving somewhere for a long time..."
Coming to a halt at the bus stop, I lean against the pole for support, angling my head around to catch a glimpse of Y/N. "I'm not." I plaster a smile to my face, despite the overwhelming feelings of sadness building within me.
For now... I won't leave your side...
But I can't promise that I'll be close to you forever...
Her sweet scent fills my nose, sending a rush of electricity through my body as I observed her slumped over figure due to fatigue. I take a seat beside her, placing her head on my shoulder.
"Thanks." She mumbles, drifting off once more to dream land within a few minutes.
I intertwine my fingers with hers, biting my bottom lip to prevent the idiot-like grin threatening to crawl up my face.
Just as I expected... Her hands were just the same way they felt... Delicate and warm.
"Hehe." A sleepy giggle sounds from her lips, making me turn to her, eyes wide as my heart pounded like crazy, hoping she wasn't awake. "Stop... It tickles..." Her free hand, slides to my knee, making gentle circular motions on the exposed skin from my ripped jeans.
She snuggles closer to my frame, clutching onto my sweater, shivering. I avert my gaze, worried that I wouldn't be able to control myself as her body began to sink into mine. Her lips land millimeters from my ears, hot breath tickling my fresh skin. A quiet moan of pleasure escapes my lips, dying my ears an exotic shade of crimson.
"Jungkook..." She mumbles seductively, the corners of my lips falling as she called out for him so lovingly.
"Still thinking about him in your dreams?" I question, glancing at her with a twinge of sadness. The question was supposed to make myself feel better, but instead it amplified the bitterness within my heart, allowing a gap for the monster deep within me to escape.
My gaze turned dark, envious, as I watched her lips twitch into a smile.
Don't say his name around me...
Please...
Selfishly, I plant a kiss on the top of her head no longer able to contain myself. My gaze then falls to her tempting lips, staring at them hungrily. I shake my head, distancing myself from her.
I can't.
A sigh of exhaustion is released from my lips as I stare at the clouded sky in anguish, my heartstrings nearly being torn from my chest in the bone chilling weather. A gust of wind blows past, my hair dancing in the air as I watch the girl in front of me who was...
So close... yet so far...
Just like the moonlight, being hidden by the clouds. I know it's still there, but it refuses to even look at me. Even though the light is hiding, it's still there. Even if it's just glowing or barely visible...
Glancing at my watch, a smile of pain plays across my face. "It's time to take you home now..." I mumble with notes of melancholy present in my voice, because I knew that the night...
That this beautiful night...
Was coming to an end...
Just like our relationship...
~~~
"Urgh!" I groan, placing Y/N on her bed bridal style. "If you ever drink again, I swear-" Y/N's deep breaths of slumber fill the silence in the room, making me grow weak. My gaze softens as I succumb to the temptation...
Placing myself by her side under the sheets, I admire her beautiful features in the icy lighting of the moonlight; soaking in every detail from the way her messy hair fell down her her body to the small shadows that her eyelashes cast along her cheekbones.
Is this how Jungkook feels every night?
Is this how he feels laying by your side like this?
I turn to my side, facing the sleeping girl by my side, my arm snaking around her waist while my other hand caressed her cheek, stroking it affectionately.
I wish I met you sooner...
"I... Love you." I murmur breathy, a brittle melody playing with my voice, as I forced myself to hold back the tears threatened to spill.
Taking a final glance at the unconscious girl, I rise to my feet, no longer filling the spot beside her.
I need to go. I remember, knowing that Jungkook would return within an hour.
I can't be here.
I can't be like this...
It's pitiful...
A faint, glowing light in the distance catches my eye. Cocking my head to the side, I approach the odd object omitting this unusual golden light; a velvet box on the nightstand.
Inching closer to it, a gasp escapes my lips, as the grip on the box in my hands loosens, letting it fall to the ground. My head drops in shame, my lips trembling, as I observe the hidden contents within the box.
Does she know?
Glancing at the two rings, side by side on the floor, I can't help but allowed a muffled sob to escape my lips. Those rings...
With their names engraved in each other's rings...
The same ways vows are promised in each other's lives...
Is this really the end... Of my first love story...?
