Sir

One Week Later

Y/N's POV

The morning was as old as the coffee on my desk. I tapped it's murky surface to break the thickening skin and watched the new gap grow. The frigid brown drink dripped from my finger, the ripples spreading toward the rim in ever larger circles. I know I'm spoilt, so used to the finest beans, always freshly brewed and served with half-and-half. I still crave a subtle undertone of hazelnut and my cup to be a festive colour with cardboard around it to protect my fingers from the heat. Instead it is this instant muck, served warm in polystyrene - depression served without a smile. The only thing alive in here is the ticking clock, I think the rest of us died some time ago.

All day long I've been sitting at this desk, paper work piling higher and higher. Save the trees, huh? I don't think Jin and Jungkook have ever heard of that. The clock ticks on the wall and I swear it's slowing down. Sitting here alone makes me flatter than a week old glass of coke.

Jin and Jungkook hadn't been to the office since the press conference, both of them taking the time to meet with our current list of clients to ensure them everything was still in place regardless of the fact they were now in charge. I was left running the day to day business during their absence which had me tired and grumpy, the latter seemed to have everyone else on edge constantly.

"Y/N, sorry to interrupt but Mr Jeon is on the phone for you."

I cocked my brow, head lifting to meet the nervous gaze of my colleague and good friend Yerin.

"Which Jeon?"

"Jin."

I allowed a small smile to pull at my lips, I felt bad for inflicting my foul mood on everyone and momentarily Yerin seemed to relax before moving back to her desk.

"Hello Mr Jeon, sorry about not answering your call. I had my phone diverting messages to voicemail so I could get this paperwork finished, how are you?"

"Ah not a problem Y/N and please don't be so formal, call me Jin."

I smiled even though he couldn't see me and rested both elbows on the desk

"Of course Jin, so what can I do for you?"

"Well, I'll be back tomorrow from Tokyo and would like to hold a board meeting. I need to gather all the employees and discuss a few things, could you send a memo out informing everyone of this? It'll be 10am sharp, should roughly last around an hour."

It was a relief to hear that Jin would be back, I didn't mind running things in his absence but the workload had definitely taken its toll on me.

"Sure, I'll get that typed up immediately."

"Fantastic, I appreciate it. Thanks so much for taking care of things in our absence, you're doing a great job."

It was nice to hear him say that, to have your boss value and appreciate your work was all one could ever hope or wish for. Jin really was a gentleman and I was happy to be working for him

"Thanks Jin, that means the world to me."

"Of course Y/N, I need to go now but I'll see you tomorrow morning."

"See you tomorrow."

I placed the phone down and nearly jumped out of my seat when a deep voice sounded beside me.

"Tsk Tsk Y/N, putting your phone on divert. It's a good job it wasn't me trying to get a hold of you.....because if it was then you would simply have to be punished."

Jungkook lowered his head, lips brushing against my ear as he enunciated the word 'punish' so clearly my cheeks flushed. I snapped my head to the side and observed him, he had the kind of face that stopped you in your tracks. I guess he must get used to that, the sudden pause in a person's natural expression when they looked his way followed by overcompensating with a nonchalant gaze and a weak smile. I gaped openly as I observed his sharp jaw, chin, and cheekbones. On either side of his nose were two blazing hazel eyes. His dark brows were actually graceful, but currently furrowed as he observed me with great interest. All of it was framed by thick, warm dark hair.

"Oh Y/N, it's rude to stare don't you know." He had an arrogant smirk on hs face, I shook my head and turned away from him to hide my embarrassment.

"Mr Jeon, I wasn't expecting you back today. Jin isn't arriving until tomorrow."

"I know." He clicked his tongue against the inside of his cheek, I could still feel his eyes on me and it was making me feel incredibly uncomfortable. It wasn't because I didn't like it....it was because I did.

"I got an earlier flight from Beijing, decided to stop by and see how you're doing."

"I'm good, handling things fine Mr Jeon." I did notice that unlike Jin he never insisted I call him by his name, it was as if he knew what I was thinking when suddenly he leaned down to reach my ear again.

"Sir will do just fine..." I felt my entire body tingle as he whispered.

What the fuck?
