The Call

Kristina's POV
Holy shit this is a normal person with a normal life standing infront of me... Okay Krissy just play it cool and say the right thing and be cool. This is totally okay isnt it? "Um. You have mail?" Urgg duhhh he has mail he is the mail man for cryin out loud.
"Uh.. sure, just give me a sec."
He looked so nervous and red that it was just a breathtaking sight. He took out a mail and then a pen and paper and wrote down something. "Here this is your mail and well, this is from me to you." He stuttered.
Me to... wait did he just hand me a paper that was for me? A note? I gently and nervously unfolded the paper to see seven numbers that he drafted on. Omg did he give me his cell number?

"I know we just met, but there is no way that I'm sure that we would meet again, so thats the reason I gave you my number. Please call me or text I would love to be your friend if that's okay with you."

He smiled so gentle and pure that it melted me instantly. I was totally making a new friend. And a hot one too..

The gaurd came up in seconds to escort him when he noticed that i was the one to open the door. I hurried inside and slipped the ruffled paper in my clothes as one of my caretakers came to examine me.
"Dear Child what in the name were you doing by the door talking with a commoner? Do you have any idea the vast trouble I could get into if your parents should find out?" She took the letter and dropped it in the letter box by my father's work desk.
"I'm not that hungry Ms.Wally. Can you get my breakfast to my room and provide me with complete privacy? I think it is coming around that time if month for me and I feel to be alone at this time."

With that I walked straight to my room and shut the doors behind me slowly not to create any suspicion from the maids.

Pulling out the crumpled piece of paper I watched the numbers and grabbed my cell and typed in the number and saved it without a name and threw away the paper.

My heart was throbbing as I let out a huge sigh and wiped off nervous sweat off my forehead.

Was this the day where I pave the path to my freedom?
My mind was all over the place as I crawled back in bed and hid my phone under the sheets.

A maid came in with my breakfast on a silver platter and politely closed the door behind her when she left.

Looking down at the french toast and bacon with hot milk and syrup I pulled back out the phone to snap a picture. Even though I had no social media I always documented my life and sometimes sent pictures to my friends my parents paid.

With my hand lingering on the call button I hesitantly pressed it. I watched it ring for about 5 times before I heard his soft gentle voice...
"Hello"
I basically felt a knot in my throat as I tried to answer him back.
"Hellllooo??? Anyone there?"
Mustering up all my courage I finally got words out.
"Um, Hi there, this is the girl you saw earlier"
"Heyyyy I'm glad you called, now I have your number and we can keep in touch as friends, how about that?"
My heart stopped as I realised that he would be able to call or text me since he had my number, and well my parents never invade my privacy but if they did now I'm surely dead.
"Sure um maybe we could talk later? I have classes in a while." Where my closing words as I felt my nerves slowly get to my head.
"Of course. I'll call around seven that sounds good?"
"Uhhh, yeah thats perfect, Silas seven it is!"
I hung up and took a deep breath.
This is it. No more being a coward. This is me seizing my chance at seeing the outside world. Even if it means breaking every rule I ever obeyed in my entire life!
