SABINA's POV

When we arrived at our hotel suite, Xzavier went to the balcony and talked to someone on the phone. He wouldn't tell me what was going on but I could tell that what happened to us a while ago wasn't a simple accident.

The rage in Xzavier's eyes told me so. Because he'd been on the phone for I didn't know how long, I decided to freshen up first.

While I was relaxing in the bathtub, I heard the door of the bathroom open and Xzavier came in. He was naked as the day he was born.

My cheeks went red as I gawked at him appreciatively. Gosh. He looked like a Greek God. No matter how many times I see him like this, his effect on me never changed one bit.

"Why didn't you wait for me? And I was even planning to take a bath with you." His lips were curved with a half naughty smile.

"Well, you were so busy talking with someone on the phone." The smile on his face disappeared. Then, he joined me in the bathtub in silence and that ticked me off. I could tell that he was keeping something from me but looked like he didn't have any plans of telling me about it.

"I think, I'm done bathing." I stood up and was about to step out of the tub when he suddenly pulled me by the hand which caused me to lose my balance. I shrieked, thinking that I might fall. Thankfully, he quickly caught me.

"Stay." He made me sit back with my back pressed against his front, his arms wrapped around my waist while resting his chin on my shoulder.

I craned my head to glare at him. "Why did you do that?! You scared me! I thought, I was going to fall!" He laughed.

"Sorry. It wasn't my intention to scare you like that. I know you're not done yet so don't leave me here. Taking a bath alone is lonely." For some reason, his voice was weird. It wasn't the usual playful Xzavier.

I chewed on my lower lip, wanting to voice out the questions on my mind but I didn't know where to start. Just thinking that we were on danger was giving me incomparable fear already.

No one spoke for a couple of minutes, just enjoying each other's warmth. His hard chest against my back felt so good but I just couldn't shake the feeling of being left out about something and I knew, I had to ask.

"Aren't you going to tell me what's been bothering you since a while ago? Remember that there shouldn't be any secrets between us." He rained butterfly kisses on my shoulder as his hands cupped my breasts, gently massaging them.

My body instantly went ablaze, eaten by scorching flame of desire but I knew better than to let him seduce me without us talking first.

"Mr. Montaño, quit it. I won't let you seduce me right now. I'm not that weak that I wouldn't be able to say no to your seductions." My voice was stern and his body went still.

He sighed in resignation. "I'm sorry, my Ina. It wasn't my intention to make this a secret from you. My men are still verifying it. For now, all we have to do is to be careful."

My forehead creased. "Verifying what? Don't tell me..."

"Yes. What happened a while ago was not just a simple accident. Someone tried to harm us by shooting the tire of the car that's why it exploded like that. They shoot it twice actually. The other bullet struck the wheel and the other one pierced the tire." I gasped in shock.

"Why didn't you tell me right away?"

"I didn't want to scare you. One of my men confirmed just a while ago that what happened to us was a deliberate attack. It didn't intend to kill us in the process. I guess, it was just a warning." My heartbeat raced in panic.

"W-Warning? About what?"

He heaved another sighed. "I'm not sure yet, Ina. My men are already investigating who could've done this and what their purpose was. Whoever it was, I'll make sure that they would pay for what they've done. Thankfully, you weren't hurt." The acerbity in his voice almost made me shiver coldly. He sounded calm but I knew him enough to tell that he was beyond angry.

"Xzav, are we in danger?" He gently placed a finger under my chin and made me crane my head to his direction to look at him.

"You don't have anything to worry about. I'll deal with this accordingly. They'll get what they deserve."

"You didn't answer my question."

He planted a kiss on my forehead. "I'm hoping that we're not. But if we were, I will do anything to protect you. Whatever happens, no one could ever lay a finger on you. For now, let's enjoy our time together here in Switzerland. I don't want this to affect our short stay here. My men are already scattered around this area so no one could ever do us any harm while we're here."

A small smile curved my lips. "As long as you're with me, I know that I'm going to be safe. But promise me that you're not just going to protect me. You'll protect yourself too because I will never forgive you if something bad happens to you." Suddenly, my throat constricted of that ominous thought.

"Mark my work, Ina. I will never let anyone take me away from you because I know that you're going to get hurt and sad. Just thinking that you will get hurt because of me is already killing me. Besides, I won't go anywhere because I haven't accomplished my biggest dream yet."

I turned around and faced him. "What dream is that?"

He smiled, his eyes twinkling. "To be your husband and the father of your future children." My lips parted in surprise.

"W-What?"

"You heard me, Ina. I want to be that man; the only man who would be there by your side until our hairs turn grey. In short, your forever." He caressed my cheek while gazing into my eyes lovingly. For some reason, my eyes suddenly watered.

"I would love that too, Xzav. You're the only one for me."

He smiled contentedly. "We would see all the beautiful and ugliness of this world together, hand in hand, as we grow old. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I can already picture our family in the future. Our kids will surely be beautiful and handsome just like their mommy and daddy." While he was saying that, I couldn't help but to get overwhelmed with happiness.

"Hey. Did you hear me?" He teased as he gently flicked the tip of my nose with his finger. I smiled full of emotions and furtively wiped the lone tear that fell from my right eye. I felt so emotional yet happy.

"I'm sorry. I'm just beyond surprised right now. I mean, I've never expected that you're already thinking about all these, marrying me and having children with me in the future."

"Why, Ina? Is it really that surprising? I don't want anyone else. You're my present and future. What about you? Don't tell me you've never contemplated about those things even just for once?"

I bit my lower lip. "Of course, it crossed my mind. It's just that...I didn't want to get ahead of myself and then—"

"—Get disappointed after if we ever broke up?" He interrupted me but I shook my head.

"You know what I mean, Xzav. To be honest, I want nothing but to spend the rest of my life with you too. But what about my situation? That was one of the reasons why I struggled to accept you again in my life when we got reunited again. Everytime I think about it, it makes me sick. You know that—" He silenced me by sealing my lips with his for a sensual kiss. I moaned as my lips automatically moved to kiss him back with equal intensity and desire.

"Everything will be fine. I promise you that."

"What do you mean? How come you sound so sure about it? I want to think that I belong to you and yet the truth still kicks me in the butt, reminding me of that dreadful event."

"I know what you're feeling right now but I promise you that I will give you the happiness that you deserve. Whatever happened in the past will stay in the past and won't haunt us here in the present nor in the future." He smiled at me full of love before resting his forehead against mine.

"Just trust me, my Ina. For now, I think it's still premature for us to think about all this but sooner or later, I want us to revisit this topic again and by then on, I'm sure, everything already fell into place."

"Why is it that everytime you open your mouth and say these soothing words, I instantly feel secured and calm?" His fingers caressed my cheeks delicately.

"Do you trust me?" Without a second thought, I nodded my head right away.

"That's the answer to your question."

"Yes, I trust you, Xzav." I whispered, gazing back into his tantalizing eyes.

"That's my Ina." I closed my eyes when he began raining kisses all over my face while whispering words of love. My heart felt so full and I knew that whatever problem we would encounter because of the happenings in the past, we would get through it together.

"I love you, my dear Ina. You're my life and the joy of my soul. I can't wait to make you completely mine."

"I love you too, Xzav. No words can describe how much you mean to me. I'm yours always and forever." His eyes sparkled with total contentment. When our lips met once again, everything became blurry as we celebrated our love until exhaustion finally caught up to us.

The next morning, we travelled to Zurich as planned and had the opportunity to explore the city. Xzavier told me that we shouldn't think about what happened yesterday so that we could enjoy our time there.

He was right. It was futile to get worried over it knowing that his men were already doing everything they could to protect us and investigate who was behind it.

We spent the whole day exploring the tourist spots there and I was impressed by its unique beauty. Even the foods were appetizing.

"Are you having fun?" Xzavier inquired while we were eating our lunch.

"Yes. Thank you for bringing me here."

He beamed. "I'm glad, you're enjoying our time here." I was about to answer when my phone suddenly rang. I checked who it was and answered it.

"Hi, Sabina! I'm glad I finally got a hold of you. I've been trying to contact you since last night but your phone seems to be out of coverage area."

"Sorry, Akira. I forgot to charge my phone last night. I just remembered to charge it this morning. Anyway, did something happen?"

She chuckled. "No, nothing bad happened. I just wanted to ask if you could come with me somewhere today. Today's a holiday so I thought, we could go somewhere together if you're not busy."

I bit my lower lip. "I'm sorry, Akira. I'm in Zurich right now."

"Zurich? Wow, how nice! I visited that place once and I really loved the experience. You should visit the chocolate museum there, I mean if you love chocolates."

I laughed. "We're actually going to Lindt home of chocolate museum later."

"I'm glad you will. Anyway, it sucks that I have to spend the entire day alone today. I was expecting to be with you since I don't have any other friends aside from you."

"Sorry. Maybe next time." I answered guiltily.

"No. You don't have to say sorry. It's my fault. I didn't tell you about it beforehand. Anyway, enjoy your time there in Zurich. Stay safe."

"Thank you, Akira. See tomorrow." When we ended the call, Xzavier already had his eyebrows furrowed.

"Who's that Akira? I didn't know that you have a guy friend of that name."

I raised an eyebrow. "Why do you look affected? So, what if I have a friend named Akira?" I fought the urge to laugh when his face turned hard as his lips pressed together.

"I was just kidding. Akira is a girl so you can relax now. I hate it when you're like this." I couldn't hide the rising irritation within me.

"What do you mean? I'm not doing anything. I didn't even say anything."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, right. You didn't say or do anything but just one look at your face and I knew that you were already thinking of hundred ways to kill Akira."

"Me thinking of killing someone? Of course not. I'm as innocent as a child." I gave him a deadpan look.

"Whatever."

He laughed heartily. "Come on, let's finish our meal so that we could explore this city more." Now, he looked like a happy child full of energy. I mentally shook my head.

"For your information, Akira is a girl. She was the one me met at the mall a few months ago. She's also working in CXM now."

"Really? What a small world. Who would've thought that you two would end up working at the same company?"

"You're right. Both of us didn't expect it but I'm glad, I met her. She's a nice person."

He nodded his head. "Yes. Indeed."

Later on, we went to our next destination before going to our last destination which was the chocolate museum and I really loved everything that I saw. It was mesmerizing to see all their different creations and varieties of chocolates. Not just that. They looked mouth-watering too.

"Did you like our brief Zurich experience?" Xzavier asked while we were walking towards the car. Just like usual, we were walking hand in hand.

I beamed. "I loved it."

"I'm glad I made you happy. But it's a pity that we don't have enough time to go to other places here. There are still a lot more to see but we need to go home."

I kissed his cheek. "That's more than enough for me, Xzav. It was a great experience and being with you only made it more exciting and enjoyable." That seemed to please him. He stopped walking and faced me.

I thought he was going to kiss me but to my surprise, he suddenly wrapped his arms around my legs and hoisted me up and turned around.

"Xzav!" I squealed and clutched my hands in his shoulders hardly.

"You're so beautiful and you're mine." He uttered when he stopped turning around but didn't put me down yet. He was gazing up at me lovingly and my heart rejoiced.

"Yes, my Xzav. I'm yours. Only yours." He smiled back contentedly and slowly put me down on my feet until our lips met. It was gentle yet teasing before it became steamy and wild. We both groaned as our tongues danced erotically, breaths mingled intimately, seeking for dominance.

"Fùck! I want you." He breathed against my lips. We were both heaving.

I chuckled. "Sorry, Mr. Montaño. We can't right now." He groaned in disappointment. "But I'll think about it when we arrive home. If I weren't tired enough to sleep right away."

He smirked. "I won't let you sleep tonight." I was about to respond when we heard squeaking sounds of a car, coming to our direction. I felt like my head grew doubled in size.

Before I could have the chance to move my feet, Xzavier already tackled me with his body and we both fell to the ground as the car past by with a terrifying speed.
