"It's not always the case, Ina. Yes, you're right. Life there is better in many ways but sometimes, for many people, they prefer to be around the nature and have some peace of mind while enjoying the calmness of everything around."

"Just like you? You told me that, right? I mean, you said that you decided to have a house here in the mountains because you wanted to have a place where you can relax and to get away from the hustling and bustling city life even for a short period of time."

He chuckled. "You got it right. You really pay attention to everything I say. I like that about you. You never forget everything even the small things."

That made me smile. "We're just the same. I notice how you pay attention to every word that comes out of my mouth." We lovingly stared into each other's eyes. I suddenly got emotional while looking at him. I couldn't believe that we could get to spend time together like this even though the situation wasn't that good.

I cupped his face.

"I love you." That voluntarily came out of my mouth and he was evidently shocked. Gosh. It felt so right saying it.

"D-Did I hear you right?" I couldn't help but to chuckle amusedly. This was the first time I heard him stutter like this and he actually looked adorable.

"You heard it right, my Xzav. I've been so confused why I feel these strange emotions whenever you're near and whenever we're not together, I'm missing you like crazy. When we first met, I couldn't understand why your face keeps on popping on my mind. I thought, I was just fascinated by you. But as we continued on spending time together, those strange feelings intensified. But when you asked me what were my feelings towards you, I answered vaguely because I wasn't sure.

"It couldn't give you a clear answer because I was confused. But lately, was my feelings toward intensified, I began to realize things on my own. I didn't have any knowledge about love that's why I was afraid to tell you that I love you. I didn't want to say things that I wasn't sure about and hurt you in the process. I wanted to understand my feelings first before I say anything to you.

"But when you professed your love for me just now, I realized that I was wrong of thinking that I was ignorant about love because you taught me everything about it. I now know love because of you. Ever since we met, everything in my life has changed for the better. You taught me many things and gave me incomparable happiness.

"Yes, I got confused but deep inside of me, it wasn't hard for me to realize my love for you because you make my life better. I'm happy when I'm with you and I hope, I make you feel the same." A gentle smile appeared on his face upon hearing all that. His eyes were sparkling with real happiness.

"You don't know how much you've turned my world upside down ever since I met you, my Ina. I really can't believe that we would be in love like this in just a short period of time. But even so, you proved to me that it's not important whether you've been with someone in just a short or long period of time because the heart knows what it wants.

I cupped his face. "You're right, Xzav. That's exactly my thoughts." He smiled at me lovingly.

"You're my girlfriend now, Ina. You belong to me and only me. I love you."

"And I love you too, my Xzav." My heart swelled with happiness and my response was automatic. Our lips met again for another sensual kiss. We really couldn't get enough of each other.

Shortly after that, Xzavier taught me how to use the cellphone he just gave me. He patiently answered all my questions about it and when he needed to go, I couldn't help but to feel sad. I hugged him ever so tightly.

"Don't go." For some reason, my eyes brimmed with tears. I already missed him so much and I felt like I couldn't take being apart from him.

"You know that I can't stay here, my Ina. Don't worry. I'll be around in case you need my help. If you need anything, text me or call me and I'll come to you as soon as possible. And don't forget about what I told you, okay? Until the right time, try your best not to make a move that will cause them to suspect anything. Try to behave as long as they won't harm you in any way." He planted a kiss on my forehead.

According to him, we would finally escape this place the night before the wedding. Apparently, he already has plans on how to execute it.

"Second time? How come? This is just your first time coming in this room, right?" He was about to answer when we heard footsteps in the hallway.

"Don't forget to hide the cellphone, okay? Make sure that no one would ever see it. I need to go now before someone sees me here." He enveloped me into a tight embrace, kissed my forehead once again before finally letting go of me. He then walked towards the door of the washroom and before opening it, he looked at me one more time.

"I love you." He mouthed and my heart swelled.

"I love you too." I mouthed back. He left with a smile of contentment on his face. The moment he closed the door of the washroom, I quickly went back to bed. When I closed my eyes, the door of the room opened.

My heartbeat became faster in nervousness but I tried my best to appear calm while pretending to be sleeping. Then, after a couple of seconds, they closed the door again.

Looked like they were just checking on me. I released the breath that I didn't know I was holding and waited for about a minute or so before getting up to go to the washroom.

"Xzav..." I called for his name with a sotto voce but no one answered me. I went back in the room to get a chair to use it to see outside the window. I was worried that Xzavier might've fell down or worst, got caught.

But when I saw that everything seemed to be normal, my heart calmed down. Looked like he already vanished in the darkness. How did he manage to go down from here without falling down?

Then, I got out of my deep thoughts when the cellphone that I was holding vibrated. I almost threw it away. I checked what it was and saw a notification. Thankfully, I remembered what Xzavier had taught me that I easily unlocked the device and read the message.

'Go to sleep now, my Ina. I'm okay. I didn't get hurt nor fall down. You can rest assured. I love you' That made me smile and type a reply.

'That's good to hear. You made me worry. Make sure to always be careful, okay? I can finally sleep now. Goodnight, my Xzav. I love you too.' It took me a while to type all that before I finally finished and successfully sent it to him.

After that, I finally fell asleep without worrying about anything because in my heart and mind, I knew that Xzavier would surely protect me whatever happens.
