Chapter 25
AN:

Please be advised that this chapter contains sexual content particularly the second act of the chapter.

Jane had been used to visitors coming in and out of Volterra.

Volterra, Italy had been the center of vampiric relations as it was the residence of their coven. It had been the safest place for humans to be in as hunting was prohibited in the area. Jane had not been the one to listen to the gossips of the lower guards yet she was intrigued as well. This newcomer was different as the guard's whispered.

She had happened to come across him in the library of the castle. He was a blond haired gentlemen who seemed to be as tall as Caius. The two men would certainly have looked alike if not for the calm demeanor that the newcomer possesses. Carlisle, as she heard his name from the guards was a doctor.

She was intrigued to see someone like him.

The blond vampire did not have the crimson red eyes that a vampire possesses. She could have sworn his eyes were a color of gold, quite a rarity indeed. According to the rumors, his eyes were golden as it was because of his diet. He had been drinking animal blood instead of human blood.

The head of guard had found it odd for a vampire to abstain from drinking human blood.

"I suppose you are the head of guard?"he asks in a reserved tone as she had come of the shelves which she used to watch him from afar. Jane had schooled her features as the curious look was gone from her eyes. The blonde haired vampire's cool gaze landed on the newcomer's face.

"Yes, i am."

Her bell-like voice echoed throughout the room. She had not been able to meet the newcomer for she had locked herself in her room for days. After her conversation with Marcus, she had left to hunt as her eyes were already black. The head of guard had dropped by the castle library in order to obtain pieces of literature she wanted to read.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Jane." He said with a smile on his face. "Aro had told me so much about you. It's a shame i did not get to meet you sooner as we were told you were preoccupied."

Her gaze lingered in his golden eyes. Carlisle then caught on what the head of guard's unspoken actions and he merely chuckled. The blonde vampire remained mesmerized by the golden eyes she had not seen on anyone else.

"It's my eyes, is it not?"he asks.

His question had brought the blonde vampire back to reality. If she were human, Jane swore she would have blushed as she was caught staring. The head of guard had come to her senses as she avoided the newcomer's gaze. Carlisle remained cool with her slip up.

"Oh..." she said, flustered as she was caught staring. "I did not mean to offend you as i stared. It's just..."

"Unusual?" Carlisle guessed as the blonde vampire wordlessly agreed. "I do get that a lot, Lady Jane. Do not worry as i am not offended by it."

"I heard you study medicine? You are a doctor?" She asks inquisitively. "How are you not averted with the scent of blood?"

It was not a rarity for them to receive visitors yet the presence of the blond vampire had brought light to the dark and dreary days of the Volturi Castle. To come across a vampire who does not drink human blood is a once in a lifetime moment as they simply relied on human's blood to survive.

"It does not bother me." Carlisle stated. "I am no longer attracted to the blood of humans. I feed on animal blood, young lady."

Before she could say anything, the two vampires were interrupted by the presence of the raven-haired Volturi king. Aro was surprised to see his head of guard despite the seclusion she had pulled. He quickly hid his surprise as he walked closer towards them.

"I see you have already met my head of guard, Carlisle?" He starts the conversation with a jovial tone. "Quite charming isn't she?"

Jane had watched her master and the newcomer interact with one another. Carlisle seemed to be in good terms with the raven-haired king. The head of guard assumed that Carlisle was here as a guest and not as a potential candidate for the Volturi guard. He would not dare to speak to Aro with such casualness if he was to be a part of the guard.

"She does." The newcomer agreed. "Lady Jane seems to be very intelligent. You are lucky to have her as your head of guard."

Carlisle's treatment towards her was something she had not experienced. When faced with other vampires, Jane was to be treated as a child since she was changed by a very young age. The newcomer however treated her as a lady. The head of guard did not know if it was out of respect for her high rank within the Volturi coven in order to get to the good side of her masters.

Yet a part of her was happy to be treated and addressed as a woman and not a child.

"Yes." Aro's gaze travels towards her and places an arm around her shoulders. For a moment, she was certain that he was able to hear her thoughts. Being the brazen young lady she was, Jane had projected her thoughts towards him. "I am very fortunate to have her by my side."

'You mean manipulating me to stay by your side?'

His eyes remained jovial yet the head of guard knew that her master would do everything in order to have her by his side. The Volturi king would be willing to do everything in order to keep her with him. He was such a selfish man indeed as he would do everything for her to stay.

Even if involves distancing her from the persons who she held dear in her heart.

He would kill to keep her with him.

The silence over the past events had kept the blond king bored to death. Caius had lounged in his chambers as he was not required to be in the study that he shared with Aro and Marcus. The blond vampire deduced the two were off to deal with personal matters of his own.

"Master?"

A woman had knocked on the double doors that led to his chambers. The Volturi king had placed a robe over his bare chest as he had recently came out of the bath chambers. His blond hair was unruly as droplets of water dripped from his hair that was still uncombed.

"You may enter..." he commands softly.

Corin entered his private chambers with her head hung low. Her gaze then travelled to the part of his chest that remained exposed. He had her summoned once he had heard that she could provide satisfaction to several members as she had been tasked to accompany Sulpicia and Athenodora.

He had not seen his wife prior to the spectacle in the study.

"You summoned me, Master?"

"I recall your power was to have an individual feel satisfied?"

"Yes, Master Caius." Corin said as she did not dare to meet his eyes.

"I am in need of your services."

The blond haired king circled the companion of the wives. He had touched every curve of her body that was defined by her clothing. Caius had loosened the corset of the blonde haired vampire and exposed her breasts. Every touch seemed to be like flames dancing upon her skin.

Their actions were improper yet she had given into him willingly.

He had been in need of her services for the satisfaction of the flesh. The Volturi king had not been intimate with his wife for quite a while.

"I'll do anything, Master..." Corin smiles at him innocently.

Caius chuckled to see the innocent aura that hid the real intentions of a vixen. He had sat in a chair and unbuckled his pants. The one who gives addictive contentment simply knew what he wanted. She had pleasured him with the works of the mouth and she had made sure to use her powers to satisfy him.

Her powers and sex was certainly a powerful combination as Caius seemed to be ready to devour her body any moment.

She had been pushed to the bed as Caius had ripped off her clothing. Corin could only moan as his hands travelled in her body. She deduced that this was the feeling to be in Athenodora's shoes, being intimate with her husband. The one with addictive contentment had spread her legs willingly for her master.

All pretenses forgotten as she lived to savor the moment.

She had not breath a word about her infatuation with the blond king. Her moans filled his chambers as his tongue came in contact with her womanhood.

"Ooh Master..." she moaned in delight as his tongue flicked the tiny bud in her womanhood. The blonde woman had grabbed her hair in relief as his head was in between her legs.

"Silence!" He snapped as he had her lay down properly on the bed. Corin had obeyed him as she muffled her moans with a pillow.

Caius had claimed her lips with such had savored the moment when he had entered her thus they became one. Her legs rested on Caius' shoulders as he went in and out of the blonde vampire. Corin had met his thrusts in order to alleviate the pleasure she felt.

Their night of passion did not simply end there as he had bedded her till sunrise.

She had been left alone on the bed as the events of the night sinked in. The one with addictive contentment had realized that she had been a simple toy used by the blond haired king as a bedwarmer. She had been proved wrong when he had sneaked up behind her.

The Volturi king trailed kisses on her neck.

"I need to go, Master..." the blonde woman said. "The wives might notice my absence in the tower. I do not want to face the wrath of your wife and Master Aro's."

Corin had made herself at least presentable before walking out of the blond king's chambers. Her thoughts weighed the consequences of her actions if the time shall come that Athenodora will catch her in the act. Sulpicia then chose to walk at that corridor and she saw the sight of Corin leaving disheveled from Caius' private chambers. The raven-haired vampire urged to suppress a smirk. One look from the woman had Sulpicia guessing what had actually transpired.

"What happened? And what are you doing here at this hour?"

"M-Mistress, I-I -" Corin stammers.

"Do not bother to lie in my face, Corin."Sulpicia scoffed as she eyed the blonde vampire from head to toe. "You look like a mess! Is this the conduct of the Volturi guard? My goodness, you look like a skank."

The blonde haired vampire looked at her with guilty eyes. Sulpicia did not need for a direct answer as she already caught what was between the lines. The wife of the raven haired king simply waited the response of the one who has the powers of addictive contentment.

"Please do not tell me off to Master Caius' wife!" Corin trembles in fear "I do not want to face the wrath of Mistress Athenodora."she added as her tone was laced with desperation.

"Why would you face Athenodora's wrath? What the hell did you do, Corin?" Sulpicia asks in fury as she masked her true intentions.

"Master Caius and i had coitus, Madame..." she shyly admits.

Sulpicia gasped in faux shock yet she had already knew it happened. The blonde vampire hung her head low in shame of what she had done. Did she really feel shameful for sleeping with the blond king knowing far too well that he had a wife already? And that wife was the mistress she was serving.

Corin did not know.

"Is it a one time endeavor?" Sulpicia asks.

"No Madame." Corin admits. "It seems that he will call to me quite often."

"I can keep you safe." Sulpicia then flashes a manipulative smile. She could certainly use Corin to get to the fair-haired woman. Athenodora's downfall can bring Jane down as well. It would be easy as she were to bring down two birds with one stone. Schooling her features to look like the caring mistress she was, Sulpicia then continues:

"Do as i say, Corin or i shall reveal your dirty little secret."

The Volturi king had summoned her to discuss an important matter. The important matter was them running away from the castle of Volterra and being themselves. They had not taken their horses and the two of them just ran in the forests of Volterra. For a moment, they had forgotten that he was the leader of a powerful coven and she was his head of guard.

At that moment, they were just Aro and Jane. Nothing more and nothing less.

"It's nice to be able to get out once in a while." He said as the two of them laid down in the grassy fields of the clearing.

The two of them laid in the grass watching the stars above. He had laid next to her while admiring the shower of stars above them. He was content to see her out of the dreary castle life. Jane tore her gaze away from the stars. The blonde vampire sighed deeply as she faced him.

Her face was inches to his.

"I don't like it." His head of guard stated. Jane could have sworn her master's face fell at her statement. "Sneaking me out, you are making me look forward to it. It's like i do not want to go back."

The raven-haired Volturi king just laughed.

"I thought i was the only one wanting to escape the castle." He confides in her. "I am tired of everything. Of Marcus' inevitable grief, Caius' pent up anger, the guard…"

It was rare of Aro to confide his thoughts to someone else. He had been used to hear and read others thoughts, the Volturi king had been accustomed of listening yet no one ever listened to his. The blonde vampire attentively listened to his thoughts, his ramblings or whatever his mind wanted to say.

"Are you tired of me?" Jane asks.

"Goodness, no." He quickly disagrees with her question. "You are above all of this, my dear. I might have gone insane if you were not here."

"You overpraise." Jane chuckled as she rolled her eyes.

Aro had reached out to stroke her cheek with the back of his hand. His head of guard sank lovingly to his touch. Such a small gesture assured him that she had been loyal to him all along. He had been surprised to find her mind empty, devoid of any thoughts.

"Your mind is blank." The Volturi king simply states.

"It's a simple trick." She tells him with a smile on her face. "I thought that you might as well needed a temporary piece of mind. A rare moment of silence perhaps?"

He had not told her that her mind was the last thing he wanted to stumble upon. The Volturi king could not simply stand the darkness that loomed over her mind and how damaging it was. To see her mind blank was a blessing after all. Touching her had given him glimpses of the pains of the past.

"You do not have to manipulate me in order to stay by your side." Jane voices out her opinion.

"I'm sorry, what?" Her master asks bewildered.

The tone of their conversation shifted from lighthearted to a serious one. Aro had stared in his head of guard in shock of her statement. All this time she knew about his order.

"I know about Charmion manipulating my bonds with Felix." Her eyes met his and he was surprised that there was no speck of anger seen in her eyes. Aro found himself thinking that Jane would loathe him when she finds out about Charmion intervening. "If you worry about me being humane and growing weak, you have nothing to worry about. My pain had turned me into a soulless monster."

The raven-haired vampire knew he paid the price of her pain.

The death of his sister had been the breaking point of the blonde vampire who laid next to him. She did not have to go through so much heartbreak. Somehow the Volturi king knew he was responsible for the way she had turned out. If he had not killed those village boys in a fit of rage as they attempted to harm Jane, then perhaps she could have been changed at a much older age. Those bastards who attempted to seek pleasure in her body died in his hands at that day.

He had not told a single soul of what happened that day. The real reason of their burning remained a well kept secret from the other masters. Aro did not tell her in fear that she might have loathe him if she ever found out about it.

"Do not worry, i will not let him come between my duties to the coven." Jane said in a monotonous tone, it was the tone that the raven-haired vampire did not like to hear. "I knew all along, you do not have to hide it from me."

If he did not kill his sister, perhaps, someone could have guided her.

Aro had been attempting to rid himself of the guilt of killing his own sister. Perhaps the way Jane turned out had him pay the price of his sins. Of having his head of guard so close to him yet her heart was so far. Jane had turned out like this and it was his price to he had the chance to look into her eyes once more, he was merely reminded of everything he had done.

In her eyes he saw: the soul that he had broke.

"Have you ever thought that Caius would look for another woman?"

Athenodora stopped in her tracks. She had faced the raven-haired woman with confusion in her eyes. Sulpicia was not the one to ask random questions. The two women were lounging in their shared area as Athenodora had been bored of staying in her study all day long.

"What are you talking about?"The fair haired woman asks, clearly oblivious to what Sulpicia was implying.

"Oh come on, Athenodora." Sulpicia said as she dismisses her worries with a wave of her hand. "Men naturally are attracted to woman. I was just asking if you ever thought about Caius cheating on you with someone else?"

Silence had engulfed the two Volturi wives as the raven-haired vampire's question lingered in the air. Sulpicia attempts to get under the fair-haired woman's skin by aggravating her. She would plant nonsense in the fair-haired woman's head in order t gain the upper hand. It seems to be working as distress could be seen from the once aloof nature Athenodora possesses.

"Why would i think of such an obscure scenario?" Athenodora questions in order to sound unbothered. "My husband and i are happily married."

She did not dare to admit that there were times that problems were encountered in their marriage. Being locked up in the tower had not helped either, as the distance clearly set the two of them apart. Sulpicia was not fazed and continued adding to the fire she had created.

"Yet you have not been intimate with one another for 2 decades." Sulpicia interjects.

The raven-haired vampire could only smirk as she saw that her companion was slowly getting pissed. She could easily read Athenodora like an open book. The cool facade Athenodora possesses already shattered as her vulnerable side was exposed. Sulpicia suppressed her smirk.

"What is with this conversation, Sulpicia?" Athenodora asks straightforwardly. She was tired of beating around the bush with the raven-haired vampire's statements. She had been trying to be patient with Sulpicia's constant nagging but it was as if she was pushing her to her limit. "What are you trying to imply?"

"I am simply asking, dear sister." Sulpicia's face downturned into a frown. "I merely asked if it had ever crossed your mind."

At this point, Sulpicia was convinced that the fair-haired woman would snap at any moment. She would then play victim if they happened to catch someone's attention.

"It did not and i do not ever wish to talk about it." Athenodora said in a stiff tone. "Do you even want to think about the possibility of Aro falling heads over heels for his head of guard?" She taunts.

Two can play this game. If Sulpicia wanted to play a game on her, the fair-haired woman would not hesitate at all. Athenodora knew the unspoken jealousy Sulpicia had for her blonde charge. She might as well use that to her advantage in order to have the raven-haired vampire a taste of her own medicine.

She had known far to well that Sulpicia hated Jane as she was her husband's dearest ally. The constant paranoia of her husband spending time with his head of guard had kept Sulpicia on her toes.

"Athenodora!" Sulpicia bellowed, clearly offended of what Athenodora had replied. "How dare yo-" she attempted to slap the fair-haired woman for her brazeness but Athenodora had caught her arm and did not budge.

"Now you know that your question is outright disrespectful now that you have experienced it." Athenodora drawls, her livid gaze meeting hers. "It seems that you are still the brazen girl that once stepped on the lands of Volterra. You ought to be ashamed."

"Did i ask you to care about my attitude?"Sulpicia asks.

"Its not even required at the first place. It just sickens me." "I was just merely informing you what i was seeing and hearing from the guards. They cannot tell that to you since you are above them but surely i can."

"Who asked?"

"Who needed your permission?Me?" Athenodora scoffed.

The fair-haired vampire was having fun with messing with Sulpicia's head. Steam could have been blowing out of the raven-haired woman's ears in annoyance. It was easy to aggraviate Aro's wife as she was quite an uncultured lady. Athenodora was not afraid to put this lady to her place.

"Oh so you are that person." Sulpicia hisses.

"I don't know." Athenodora chuckles in a sarcastic manner. "I don't normally listen to you." The fair haired woman said in a teasing tone.

Before Sulpicia could respond, Athenodora's gaze landed to the cloak that had been lying in the armrest. She walked towards it and gently grabbed it. The fair-haired woman inspected it to find that it belonged to her husband. It was strange as her husband did not have the habit of forgetting his belongings. What was more strange was her husband had not step foot in this tower for the past week even months.

To see his cloak in the tower was unusual for her.

"Why is my husband's cloak here?" She inquires at Corin.

Corin stiffens with the actions of her mistress. Athenodora raises an eyebrow at the blonde haired vampire who served as their lady-in-waiting. Her actions certainly speak louder than her silence. Corin immediately straightens herself before answering her mistress' question.

"I found it in the library, Madame Athenodora." Corin musters up an excuse in attempt to save herself and she delicately picked up the dark cloak. The blond king had lent the blond vampire his cloak when she had left his chambers. "I shall return it to him. I was about to go out as well." She held on the cloak tightly.

"I will be the one to return his cloak." She had forcefully grabbed his cloak from the lady-in-waiting and retreated back to her study.

She had definitely caught the scent of the one with addictive contentment. It was odd to have Corin's scent on the cloak of her huband. Athenodora simply knew they were lying towards her.

AN:

I guess you are shocked about Caius and Corin's affair as well? I just took it from the illustrated guide and reinterpreted it to my own style. The exact passage goes: " Caius frequently uses Corin's gift to mitigate his boredom between punishing expeditions and battles." and added my own little twist as well. Dont forget to leave a review as i would love to hear it from
