chapter 9

Chapter 9
AN: Hello, the third scene has mentions of violence and rape, so if you are not comfortable with those themes, you can skip it.

"If there was one thing that would wag those Volturi's tails, it better be this young lady." Alegria's eyes darted towards the rulers of the Romanian coven. The three leaders listened with such intent as the blonde vampire was still unconscious.

As expected, Jane had thrown a fit once she found out that she had been captured by her enemies. Her screams absolutely infuriated her captors to the point that they had no choice to silence her instead. Alegria could only smirk in her victory.

"Being the favorite of the masters does have its benefits and losses. You'll have Aro Volturi declaring war for harming a single hair on his precious weapon's head."

The leader of the Romanian coven walked towards his accomplice and stroked her cheek. Alegria lovingly sunk in his touch. Being allied with the Romanians was the secure decision she had made. It was better to stay on the winning side after all.

The coven who ruled in with power had everything come to them. Gold, humans, and power were amongst the things that came to them willingly. Manpower was not an issue since their reign from the very beginning.

Being a spy for them guaranteed her survival. Alegria would do everything not for someone else, but rather for herself. Attacking the Volturi indirectly and by surprise will guarantee to take them down once and for all.

They had no time to prepare after all.

"You never cease to amaze us, Alegria..."

Her gaze drifted to the blonde vampire who stirred and looked the room with such calculated eyes. The spy could only smile in triumph as the blonde that was once high and mighty was now vulnerable to her clutches.

How ironic was it that the tables have turned against her. The once high and mighty witch twin was now succumbing to her

Vladimir and Stefan could only watch in silence. They were not the ones to involve themselves with such grueling tasks. It was their creator, Nikolai who wanted to indulge in the fear the others had for him.

"How does it feel, to be on the other end?" Alegria bent to the blonde's level. Jane's face morphed in disgust at the traitor. The traitor can see through her bold facade.

Alegria grabbed the blonde's chin roughly. The giant smile on her face was gone and was replaced with a calculated stare. Her eyes bore holes in the blonde's soul. Nikolai could only watch in such interest of the interaction unfolding in front of him.

He could not fathom how one little blonde can shake up the world of one Aro Volturi. Now to set things in motion, he better get started.

"Alegria," he called out.

Alegria looked at him with a raised eyebrow but she said nothing. He knew she wanted her revenge on the blonde vampire but he had far better plans. Through Alegria, he had found out that the little blonde in front of him was the apple of the Volturi leader's eyes.

Such things like her should have been secured and locked away somewhere else safe after all. Nikolai wondered how the three Volturi kings would function with such immense pressure that their precious weapon was in the Romanian's clutches.

Time to pull on their leg to kickstart their downfall.

"Leave that child to me," he said with such malicious glint in his eyes. "Roses such as beautiful as her are much better to be locked away. I'll have my little fun for a while."

The blonde vampire could only look at Nikolai with such fear in her eyes. The leader wanted it to be kept that way. For the fragile flower to look at him with such fear. He loved to indulge in fear, especially if it was towards him.

"Ja-ne-lla. I welcome you to the humble abode," he said with such cheeriness that he could muster. His tone of poisoned sweetness was matched by an amused expression from his accomplice.

He slapped her hard when the little Volturi brat had the audacity to spit venom in his face. The others in the room made no attempt to stop him. They had found the situation amusing on their own accord.

Nikolai could only scoff at the brat's insolence.

"My informants were not lying when she told me that you took after Caius' insolence. It seems that the Volturi did not teach you manners, you wicked child."

"You are the wicked ones!" Jane spat into his face which resulted in having her thrown across the hall. She hit the wall pretty hard that it left an indent. The blonde vampire fell to the floor. Nikolai bent to her level and grabbed her chin with such roughness.

"Girls like you should stay prim and proper. Violence is never an action to be taken by women. Do know why women could never conquer?" he scoffs. "Are you even a woman? My, I forgot you are just a child."

"Women can't lead nor conquer."

"There is much more humiliating than a pompous man, like you," Jane's voice rang clear as a bell. She leans closer to him, seeing Nikolai eye to eye. She cocked her head to the side before staring at him with such hostility she had. "A nasty woman can conquer and bring a pompous, self-entitled man to his downfall."

She was not the one to obey and bow down to her enemies.

The Volturi was used to Jane's tantrums to the point that it actually felt normal and they would just ignore her. Her absence for 2 days was something they were kind of used to. She shut them out before, what was the difference now?

After Athenodora returned, they made a mental note to not bother the blonde vampire. They knew how she may be small but her temper could rival Caius' in a rampage. So they left her alone to calm down.

Even Alec did not dare to face his twin in her state.

It was only when Felix was sent to fetch her for the guard's training. The burly vampire reluctantly knocked on the blonde vampire's room.

He knocked once, there was no answer. It was only the sound of silence that he could hear. The hollow sound of the wind surrounded him in one of the highest buildings of the castle.

Her room was situated on the highest floors and was away from the other guards. The location also made it possible for her to be a bit closed off to other guards.

Other Volturi guards were free to interact with one another. Even Alec interacted with them once in a while, but he certainly did not get why she remained aloof to the others.

Felix knocked for the second time, this time he chose to call out her name.

"Jane?" he asks yet there was no response from the room. He was only met with silence once again. "Are you still mad? Master Caius had ordered for you to attend the training. Hey, don't shut us out."

He waited for quite some time and the burly vampire grew impatient. If he was to go down, Caius would have just reprimanded him and ordered him to go back up. The tall vampire did not want to face him empty-handed either.

"Jane, you have to come down. I don't want my head on a silver platter. Master Caius won't let me get out there alive if you did not come down, it technically his orders so you really need to obey. I'm sorry about rambling here but I'm gonna open this door."

He opened the door to find the room undisturbed. There were no traces of the blonde vampire living there in the past few days. He inspected the blonde vampire's room and looked around.

Felix checked her closet and her vanity. The dress she wore and her Volturi crest was not among the items present. He took notice of the fact that the room felt untouched. It meant that she had not gone home after all. The Volturi guard second-guessed himself and went down.

He happened to come across Demetri who bore an urgent expression. The burly vampire grabbed the tracker's hand and pulled him into the alcove.

"What took you so long?" Demetri asks urgently. "Master Caius sent me because you were taking so long. Tell me what did she do to you?"

"She's gone." It was all Felix could say and the tracker raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"She's not at her room, Demetri. Her crest was not there. Jane might not even go home that day."

The two men chose to handle the situation on their own for a while. With Demetri's gift, they sought to find if she was within the palace and the Volterra grounds.

Turns out she was not.

"Should we alert the Masters?" Demetri asks. It was not a question that was even meant to be answered. They reached towards the end of the hall where the guards were not usually allowed in, besides the twins. The master's study was off-limits to most of the guards unless they were summoned.

Felix was the one who knocked and they were greeted with silence. It took them a few minutes until the masters answered them. It was Caius who opened the door in question.

"What brings you here?"

"W-We have something urgent that needs to be relayed, Master Caius."

The blond king looked at them with skepticism but let them in anyways. The room was dark and they could feel the atmosphere that they were not used to. The king's study bore a significant aura that the three kings were not meant to be crossed.

How would the news impact them if what they suspect is right? The burly vampire knew that the kings value the twins, especially Jane. What more of the wives, the two vampires were more terrified of how they would react.

"Ah Felix and Demetri," The two guards were greeted by a cheerful Aro. "What brings you both here? Is there anything we can help you with?"

The two Volturi guards exchanged glances with one another. Neither of them wanted to be the bearer of such bad news. Aro held out his hand for them, pertaining to gain access to their mind instead. Felix reluctantly gave his hand and the raven-haired vampire grasped it.

The burly vampire felt the king's grip tighten as he searched the contents of his mind. Aro let go of his hand and walked away from him. Felix clearly sensed the tension that was in the air, he could have sworn that the atmosphere felt a bit heavier.

"You are telling me that she is gone..." Aro said in a low voice.

The burly vampire hung his head low. Seeing Aro without his usual cheery self sent shivers down their spine. For a moment, he looked more dangerous than Caius himself who was a sadist. Aro walks away dangerously from the two guards.

"What is it, brother?" Marcus asks. He and Caius were looking for clues and were persistent to know what was happening. Aro kept his mouth shut which absolutely brought curiosity onto the two kings. Aro stopped in silence and faced the two Volturi guards.

"Demetri, I want you to search high and low for her. I do not care if you have to comb through every street in this world." His gaze flickers to his fellow kings. "It seems that our Jane did not go home two days ago."

The second she opened her eyes, Jane found herself staring at the ceiling of a majestic chamber. She slowly sat up as she held her head which rung badly. The blonde had no idea what transpired.

It was as if she remembered nothing.

The blonde looked around the chamber curiously. She was seated in a majestic bed that had silk sheets that were blood-red in color. Her wrist was tied with a rope to keep her from leaving. She scoffed at the rope idea,

It was as if she could not rip it off her.

She tried to rip it off but found herself unable to do so. Jane looked into the mirror that was situated in the ceiling above the bed. The room itself was surrounded by mirrors. The blonde took notice of the white dress she was wearing.

It was a flowy one but showed skin that she did not usually do. The sleeves of the dress hung off her shoulders. Her blonde hair was down to her back freely.

"If you think that you can escape easily, you will find yourself unable to do so. Don't try to do anything, my dear..."

She could only stiffen. Jane's eyes widened in terror as Nikolai came closer to her.

"That's what he calls you right, my dear? It took me to piece everything that you were somehow involved with him." he strokes her cheek with such seduction. "Ah young love, I never thought someone like him would be so gullible."

"If you are thinking Aro is that gullible, then you are mistaken," Jane said as venom dripped from her voice as she stared at him intently.

"You look so innocent, my dear. But as the saying goes, every innocent knows how to leave a mark."

She attempted to break free but to no avail, she could not.

"You cannot go anywhere, my dear." His tone had a hint of poisoned sweetness in it. "You are powerless against me, child. With the help of some of the talented in our coven, you will not be able to move around." His gaze met hers.

"In short you are weak. Weaker than our kind."

She paled. It might be the reason why she had been dozing off which was rather peculiar. She backed away from him and found herself stuck as she hit the wall. Pure terror can be seen from her eyes.

He basked in the terror that she was executing. Gone were the eyes that he once saw that reeked with arrogance. He strokes her chin with such elegance, then drifting towards her shoulders. She was trapped in a body of a sixteen-year-old, yet he did not deny the beauty he saw.

Beauty that was irresistible.

The leader grabbed her by the waist roughly. The blonde vampire stiffened at how close the two of them were. Nikolai looked into her burgundy eyes which were full of apprehension in them. He chuckles at how innocent she was.

After all, he does prey on the innocent.

His gaze drifts to her lips, which were red as blood and were plump as he could imagine. The leader licked his lips discretely. He looked into her eyes again, he feasts on her fear once more. He gently grabbed her chin and leaned towards her.

"The devil would like to send his regards."

His hands traveled all throughout her body as she was pinned down the bed. Jane was powerless against his figure. He was bigger than her, much stronger. The blonde could only scream when he ripped off pieces of the white dress.

Her scream was tantalizing, it was music to his ears. The heartless Nikolai could only smirk to see her succumb to the fear he instigated. He feared no evil, the shadow is his and so is the girl underneath him.

Suddenly everything was muffled for the blonde vampire. In the mirror above, she saw the tears she could not shed. In the mirror above them, she was forced to watch the predator who preyed on her body. Her hands balled into fists but she could not scream anymore.

Jane shed tears that she could not have. She shed those as he gloatingly celebrates and feasts on her body. Without the strength to defend, she would weep. Wailing while being deflowered by a vile man, lamenting as he robbed her of such purity.

She would shed her tears once, over the hapless fate she was led. Her skin being shrouded by marks of a vile man. But the time will come.

The day will come that her venom tears would run dry. Tears would no longer rule her weak heart. She shall be victorious amongst all, with courage like a thousand of torches lighting up her cruel world.

She shall be victorious and shall never bow to anyone else rather than her master.

'I am Jane Volturi, and i only bow down to one master.'

There was apprehension in their gaze as well. The two guards felt that Jane's disappearance was a big deal for the Volturi kings. Scratch that, they knew they favored her to such extent that they did not want to know.

Aro had let his cool facade vanish once the guards left. He sank on his chair in defeat as his two brothers just watched his every move. They were also worried even if they did not deny it, Aro knew that so well.

"What is bothering you, Aro?"

"I am just hoping that our dearest Jane is on with her dramatic moments." Aro faces his brothers with a grim yet vulnerable expression. "I had my suspicions on her whereabouts but I am hoping that I am wrong."

"And that is?" Caius presses on.

"Jane would be taken advantage of because of her position will be my worst horror. I forgot how these things work already. I failed to realize that and she will pay the price,"

"Took you long enough to realize?" Caius said bluntly.

"You pay the price instead," Marcus remarks softly as the raven-haired king groaned inwardly. His brothers were teaming up to guilt-trip him but he was not going to risk her safety with such sudden decisions. "If she was captured, let's just hope that they had no intention to destroy her."

His fellow king's word sent chills down the raven-haired vampire's spine. He will not know what would happen if the worst outcome that he imagined would be the one to seal her fate. He was not only to face the wrath of her twin but also Athenodora and Didyme.

The two women were deadly once combined. Athenodora alone could shake up the systems with what she wants, let alone Didyme. Combine them together would be like a deadly weapon ready to attack.

Caius would not be the one to hold his wife on a leash, Aro knew that himself. Having similar personalities and let alone their temper made them surely a match made in heaven. Aro knew that Athenodora would never bow submissively to her man.

No matter how Caius wanted to be in charge most of the time.

It was one of the traits Volturi women have, whether it was a guard or one of the wives. The women would never willingly bow submissively to men. The women of the Volturi were ambitious enough for themselves and knew how to thrive.

Now he knew where Jane took after, having all of Didyme and Athenodora's attention on her as well. Aro would not be surprised if she was also ambitious.

Time seemed to pass slowly as they did not move anywhere at all. The three kings tried their best to distract themselves without Demetri returning yet. Alec burst into the room. The three kings did not mind the sudden intrusion knowing that Alec probably wanted answers from them. His expression was grim, but there was no anger seen in his eyes yet. Demetri was also right behind him and Aro could already tell that with the tracker's expression.

His suspicions were right.

"Master-" Aro cut him off.

He did not dare to admit it out loud, but the Volturi king was terrified of how Alec was about to react. The raven-haired vampire knew his relationship with his twin sister and took it into account that he wanted to be involved regarding the matters towards his sister.

Aro was not the one to deny him that.

"We are doing our best, my boy. We'll have her back in no time safe and sound. Hasty decision-making can hinder our chances of retrieving Jane. Do you understand, young man?"

"Yes, Master..." Alec said as he hung his head low. Aro grasped the brunet's shoulder in order to reassure him. He slowly stepped back and faced the window that overlooked Volterra.

For a brief moment, Aro found himself to be at blame for what happened. Yet he was not the one to succumb to the affairs of the mind. He chose to channel that self-blame to something else.

"We retrieve her tomorrow midnight. I hope that your troops are ready, Caius. Let us end this squabble once and for all,"
