The Shindig
Mal pulled Ben out of Tiana's. "Remember that movie where that robot who drank liquor from an abandoned spaceship, turned into a vampire middle school teacher who taught the entire school to salsa dance, and then went on to win the regional championships?" Mal asked him.
"Yeah," Ben said confused.
"That makes more sense then this!" Mal said walking away.
"Oh! I have an idea, hand me my cell," Ben said following her.
Mal looked at him weirdly. "What year was this movie made?"
"Uh... Around 1960," Ben said.
"And you're gonna do what with a cell phone that doesn't exist yet?" Mal asked.
"Call my folks!" Ben said and then thought about what he said. "You... Weren't born yet...."
Mal nodded and rolled her eyes. "Ben, my entire future depends on us getting out of here," she said grabbing his shoulders. "Like, now!"
"Except, maybe it'd be fun to hang for a bit," Ben said.
"Except no it wouldn't because I have to catch a plane in two hours! Well, two hours and fifty years," she said pacing back and forth.
"Fine. Maybe we need to figure out how we got here in order to know how to leave," Ben said and Mal nodded. "So we came in on a storm right? Maybe that has something to do with it."
"So we have to wait for a storm to get out of here?!" Mal asked freaking out.
"Yeah, but we're in luck, because there's a huge storm at the end of the movie," Ben said.
"Okay," Mal said nodding. "What are we gonna do in the mean time?"
Suddenly Lonnie, Harry, Doug, and Chad came out and did a crazy handshake, bonked heads together and looked at Mal and Ben.
"Hey! We're having a shredder shindig tonight right here at Tiana's," Chad said. "You should both make the scene."
"Yeah, but uh," Mal started but Ben cut her off.
"That sounds blasted," he said happily.
"Yeah!" Harry said.
"Cowabunga!" Harry, Lonnie, Doug, and Chad said before running off.
"Radical!" Ben called and Mal just waited for the yelling to stop. "Woo!"
Mal glared at Ben. "We're stuck in another dimension, and your idea of a good use of time is to party?!" She said angrily and sighed. "Well not me."
Suddenly the scene changed and Mal was wearing a flower dress, and Ben was wearing a blue shirt and white shorts. They both looked down at their clothes.
"This is? How did?" Mal said and looked to see she was holding her shirt. "This just?" She looked at Ben. "Where did these outfits come from?"
Ben shrugged and smiled. "The magic in movies," he said and looked at her outfit. "Oh, you look nice." He then saw Fairy Godmother's wand. "Dude, the wand," he pointed and Mal looked.
"What?" She asked. "How did that get here?" Mal asked and touched the wand before setting her shirt on a wood railing. Ben grabbed her hand and ran inside.
Inside there was a surfer party going on. "Hey, Lonnie, those hips are so seismic," Chad said seeing Lonnie shaking her hips.
"It ain't a problem getting them started Sea Chad. It's getting them to stop!" Lonnie said.
Mal and Ben walked in. "So, this is a shindig," Mal nodded.
"Yup, and you're dressed for it. Let's roll," Ben said.
When they went to dance Jay and the rest of the bikers came in.
"So boss, how are we gonna get Tiana's to be only a biker joint?" Carlos asked.
"Shut up, I'm thinking," Jay said.
"How long is that gonna take?" Uma asked.
"Well great, now I gots two things to think about," Jay said. He then smiled and snapped his fingers. "Let's go."
The bikers than started walking down to the main dance and eating area.
"We's not gonna let a bunch of water logged wash-puts spoil our very fine evening," Jay said.
"Tiana's is like a second home to me, if I had a first one," Uma said following Jay to a table.
"Popped my first wheelie in here," Carlos said.
"Hey, did you see that surfer dude eyeballin you?" Jay asked.
"Yeah, I saw him. I saw him alright," Uma said as everyone sat down.
Evie sat down and set a bunch of sodas on the table. "Sodas for everyone," she said.
"Thanks sis," Jay said. "Those surfers weren't bothering you, were they?"
Evie looked around. "No, of course not. They're not so bad," she said.
"All surfers is bad," Uma said.
"Yeah, all surfers is bad," Audrey repeated.
"Except for the ones that are very bad," Carlos said.
"They're even worse," Jay said. They started laughing and when Jay snapped his fingers they stopped. He did it two more times and then relaxed.
Evie looked around and then gasped. "It's almost time! Let's go, let's go!" She said and grabbed Audrey's hand. Audrey gasped and followed her.
"Hey Tiana, you sure know how to fry up a fish burger," Harry said to Tiana.
"Well, if you can catch it, Tiana can cook it," Tiana said. Harry stood up from where he was sitting and twirled Tiana around. They danced for a minute before Tiana pushed him away. "Oh boy, I gotta cook," she said and laughed as she walked away.
