The Sister Talk
Icy's POV
That night after dinner, I walked back to my room alone. The tourney team took Harriet out for pizza. I was really happy for her. She had actually found something she liked. As I got to my room I saw Casey standing in front of the door. I forgot I invited her over tonight. How could I forget that?
"Hey Casey." I said as I stood next to her.
"Hey Icy." She said. I opened the door and let her inside. Once we were inside I shut the door.
"Your rooms nice." Casey said.
"Thanks. But isn't it like all the others?" I asked.
"Yeah, but a lot of people like to decorate their rooms." Casey said and sat on my bed, but quickly got up.
"Ouch! Your bed is freezing cold." Casey said. She then got a good look at my bed. The sheets were pure white snow, and the bed was completely covered in ice.
"Duh." I said and sat on my bed. Did she not know me? "I can't stand pink. That's the color it was before."
"Oh." Casey said and carefully sat on Harriet's bed. "You do know magic is outlawed here right?"
"Yeah. Don't tell anyone." I said.
"You know what...I should tell the headmistress, but your my sister. So I won't." Casey said.
"Thanks." I said. "Oh, mom says hi."
"Really?" Casey said.
"Yeah. Do you miss her?" I asked.
"Of course I do." Casey said. "I didn't really think of her as a villain. But my kind mom."
Really, really Casey. When my mom and I got to the Isle. She killed six people. She was furious. That doesn't come across me as kind. Or maybe it was sixty people.
"Yeah, she's so kind." I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes. "Do you still remember the things I said to you eight years ago?"
"It was drilled into my brain." Casey said.
"I know it's long over do...but I'm sorry." I said.
"It's ok." Casey said and lowered her head.
"I'm sorry I called you worthless, and not important, and that I hated you." I said.
"I forgive you." Casey said. "Do you think we can start over?"
"Yeah. I can live with that." I said.
"Well, I better get back to my room. I have to get up early tomorrow. I have cheerleading practice at 7:00." Casey said and stood up.
"Ok. It was nice to clear all that up." I said and stood up as well.
"Yeah. Do you want to sit with me at lunch tomorrow?" Casey asked.
"Sure. I'd love to." I said.
"We can catch up some more tomorrow." Casey said. "Bye."
"See ya." I said and Casey left the room.
After seeing Casey tonight I realized that, I really did miss her. I don't think she would have survived on the Isle of the Lost. I'm glad she made good friends. She was loved here. But I needed to stay focused on our mission. Even though a part of me thought it was a bad idea. How can feeling change so quickly. It was all a mystery to me. I sat on my bed and look out a picture from my bag. It was a picture of me and my mom.
"I'm going to make you proud mom." I said. "I will not give up on this mission."
