The New Tourney MVP

Harriets POV
That Morning I put my hair in a ponytail, and I got dressed in my ripped jeans, a white teeshirt, a red leather jacket, black cap with a flat bill and a pair of black combat boots. Today was my first real day at Auradon Prep. I knew it was going to be horrible, but I had to make the best of it.

Today I was following Jay to all of his classes. But when Jay went to Chemistry, I had to take a class called Remedial Goodness. Taught by the Fairy Godmother. I took the class with Icy, Clarissa, Vanessa and Freddy. Carlos, Jay, Mal and Evie weren't in the class though. I guess they had already passed it.  They are so lucky they don't have to take this class anymore.  The class is so hard and ridiculous. Mal told us just to think the opposite of what we thought the answer was when the Fairy Godmother asked us questions in class, and it worked we all got the answers right. Go Us!

After the class was over, Jay brought me over to the tourney field to watch his practice. I sat in the bleachers and watched. While they played the cheerleaders cheered them on. After Jay made his first goal, that girl Audrey came up to him and hugged him. I then got this jealous feeling in the pit of my stomach. I think I was jealous of Jays girlfriend Audrey. I ignored the feeling though and kept watching.

Every time Jay made a goal I clapped. I then heard the couch blow his whistle, and I saw that one of the players was limping and that Jay and Prince Ben or King Ben helping him to the bench. I got curious and ran down. Everyone was huddled around him, even the cheerleaders.

"It's my ankle." The boy said as he sat on the bleachers and took off his helmet. He had brown hair and brown eyes.

"Do you think it will be better by the big game?" The coach asked.

"I don't think so." The boy said.

"What are we going to do?" A player said.

"I don't know Chad." Ben said to him. "We need at least 10 people on the field."

"How about Harriet." Jay suggested. Everyone quickly looked at him, even me. What was he thinking!

"What?" Chad said. "Who's Harriet?"

"I am." I said and waved

"You!  But your a girl." The boy on the bench said.

"Who cares." Jay said. "She is a good player. On the Isle of the Lost we have these games, and the games are based on how athletic and how strong you are, and Harriet wins every year."

"I don't know Jay." Audrey said. "If she's not as good as you say, she could lose the game for us."

"I say we should let her try." Ben said.

"Ok we'll let her try." The coach said.

"How about it Harriet?" Jay asked me.  I was silent.  It had all happened so fast.  It was true I had ruled at the games on the Isle.  But this is Auradon.  It was really different.  There's rules here.  But maybe I'll give it a shot.

"Ok, I'll give it a shot."  I said.

"Who are you the daughter of anyways?"  The boy asked.

"I'm the daughter of Captain Hook."  I told him.

"CAPTAIN HOOK!"  He shouted.  "Coach you can't let her play.  Her father wanted to kill mine.  My father said to never trust anyone that had any relation to Captain James Hook.

"Wait your Peter Pans son?"  I said.

"Names Pete."  He said.

"Let's give her a shot Pete."  Ben said.

"Ok fine.  But I'm keeping an eye on you."  He said.  Pete was right.  He couldn't really trust me.  My father taught me how to be sneaky and tough.  But I'll play the nice and good card with them.  Everyone went back to their original positions.  Jay handed me a helmet, a shield and the same kind of stick he was holding.

"Don't I need padding or something?"  I said.

"Well I don't think we'll have anything that would fit you.  So boys take it easy on her!"  He yelled to the team.

"No, don't take it easy on me.  I can handle it."  I said.  The coach split us up into two teams.  I was on Jays team.

"And start!"  The coach said.  A little ball came flying at me and I caught it in the stick.  I had only known a little bit about the game.  I had only watch them play one game.  So I just had to wing it.  I dodged all the other players that tried to tackle me and ran to the goal on the other side.

"Harriet your entering the kill zone."  Jay yelled to me.  Kill zone?  What the heck was the kill zone?  I then saw these little things hurdling at me.  I dodged them all and ran across the field.  I swung my stick and the little ball went in the goal.

"YES!"  Jay said and ran up to me and hugged me.

"I did it!"  I said and we both took off our helmets.  I then saw all the other players and cheerleaders come up to me.

"Your really good."  Chad said.

"I'm surprised.  I never thought a girl would be able to play this game."  Audrey said.

"Thanks."  I said and smiled.

"You might be better than me."  Jay said.  I laughed.  I then saw the coach come up to me.  He looked just as astonished as the rest of them.

"You are really good!"  He said.  "How would you like the join the team?"  I was ecstatic at his offer.  But what about the mission I had to be focused on.  I then thought more about it.  I could probably get some information about where Maleficent was if I joined the team.  Someone on this team had to know about her, and I could spend more time with Jay.  And this looks like the only athletic thing at this school, so why not.

"Ok.  I'll join your team!"  I said. Jay hugged me again and everyone cheered.  I then saw Pete limping over here.

"You play really good.  Maybe your not that bad  after all."  Pete said.

"Thanks."  I said.

"Let's go get some lunch guys, to celebrate our new teammate!"  Jay said.  I think for the first time in my life I actually felt some happiness.  I was actually a part of something that I liked.  Maybe this Auradon isn't so bad after all.
