Bury A friend - Billie Eilish

There's a conflicted gaze filling Jeongguk's doe eyes as he watches the two familiar males sitting at the back seats from his seat in front of the row of his other teammates. They didn't notice how Jeongguk is staring at them since it just looks as though he's focusing on the conversation with his friends, but that's far from the truth.

He can see the way Namjoon's face kept crumbling down of low spirit because of the monotone male beside him. It's clear that Namjoon was really trying to not let his emotions get the best of him, but the other male carries such an aura that was like something that provokes emotions or just have this urge to snap at him back.

Jeongguk would know since he's been around his presence a few times.

Truth is, Jeongguk was the only one aware of Namjoon and Jimin's secret relationship when they were together. They never came out publicly together since that wouldn't exactly have been wise due to the negative view from the media and their reputation -possible occupation- being at risk, but that didn't stop them from seeing each other on the low.

Why would Namjoon trust Jeongguk with something as secretive and private as this?

Easy, Jeongguk is his step brother.

The two grew a very close connection when their parents got married when they were young, and obviously Namjoon hasn't came out that he's interested in men to either of them - Or maybe he never will. Not like Jeongguk would know since he ran away from home when he was fourteen, leaving him as an orphan for a while to fend for himself.

Anyways, the two stayed in contact and Namjoon did tell Jeongguk of his interests and obviously the ravenette would do anything to support his brother- even if he did grow up to be conservative as well to the thought of same sex relationships. Not like he's against it, just not into it himself.

Jeongguk and Jimin never interacted personally, he's only see him sometimes when Jimin would pick up Namjoon from practice or see his games. He's is pretty sure Jimin knows who he is, briefly from a long distance away but maybe not too much in detail since obviously speaking is a mission impossible for Jeongguk unless he's comfortable. Namjoon was never one to spill information willingly without the consent of the other person, so most likely Jimin just sees Jeongguk as the face of Namjoon's brother.

If he even can remember him.

So Jeongguk watches as his brother getting to his feet, sharing some awkward eye contact with the ballet dancer before joining the rest of the group without another word. Jessi, the captain of the Women's Hockey team, motioned eagerly for Namjoon to sit on the empty seat beside her with such a vibrant energy and immediately pinched his cheeks with praises to how good he did in practice today.

From the hockey team, men and women, Jessi is almost similar to a loving yet edgy mother; She refers to her players from both teams as her kids and always brings either food or snacks to practice -even if coaches scold her for it. She is very free-spirited and sometimes acts as though she's a teen herself by how easy it is to get along with her. She gets all their jokes and calls out on their bullshit too; She's just a great person to be around with.

Since she knows Jeongguk is Namjoon's brother, she also learned sign language herself to complain about his brother - playfully at least- how he's fooling around in practice and isn't taking it seriously and how Jeongguk should scold him.

She never failed to make Jeongguk smile somehow since she's just so cool, it's always a nice energy being around her.

Yeah, teams in indoor skating events -hockey, figure skating, speed skating, etc- are all all pretty close and that's the good thing about a team when everyone treats each other like family. Even from the Women's team, since they sometimes practice together for friendly competitions.

However, now his full focus is on Namjoon sitting beside him -Who's in the midst of laughing to his fall during practice that Jessi was talking about- and he slowly relaxes. However that didn't stop him from sending one last stare to Jimin, seeing the other male speaking with the one beside him in hush tones, before looking back to the ice rink.

The bleachers were now filled with more people and the performances were finally starting after waiting at least an hour. The opening was actually pretty cool. The contestants all arrived onto the ice and showed off their moves to the music in a cool choreography together. There's many jumps being involved, pair skaters twirling their partners or doing such mouth dropping poses while the solo skaters would encourage the crowd with blow kisses and motivating waves.

In a distance Jeongguk could make out Karma's twin, Taehyung, skating with his partner Seulgi in sync and with such elegant poses that clearly shows why they are the Olympic gold medalists throughout this whole event.

Even their golden outfit screams it with Taehyung's blonde hair whirling into the air as he spins or does his perfect jumps alone. Him and his partner clearly have an amazing chemistry and trust one another to be able to pull off half the things they do out there and that alone felt almost inspiring. Just by watching them would make anyone enthusiastic to skate as well, even if the results aren't as near perfect as how they perform.

Jeongguk always knew Taehyung was an amazing skater, but at this moment his attention is completely taken by him and Seulgi.

This is so amazing.

Taehyung and Seulgi are really motivational, without them even trying.

"YES TAEHYUNG! POP OFF! YES!" Felix and Jennie, one of the Women's hockey players, shouts over the cheering crowd to hype up the pair. So unlike the other twin, who is only sitting down, observing his brother intently with judging eyes. They usually have this tendency to do that to each other when watching their competitions, observe their performances and give advice on how to do better.

By the looks of it, he seems impressed.

In Karma's own way of impressing.

"THAT'S MY FUCKING GIRLFRIEND! YES SEULGI- OH FUCK DID YOU SEE THAT JUMP?! MY BABY!"

Minho is going completely feral, almost as though he's watching a hockey game rather than an elegant performance. He's always like this whenever he's in a relationship, an extreme hype man. To say he's a good boyfriend would be an understatement, he goes far and beyond for the person he cares about, even if the relationship doesn't work out at the end of the day.

So far he's been with Seulgi for about five months, his longest relationship really, and they really are the cutest beings together. Even though they don't really share much PDA in public or even at the dorms, they clearly have a nice chemistry around each other. Most of the time Taehyung would tag along when Seulgi comes over to see his brother, and well him and Minho don't typically get along.

Who knows why, but Minho has mentioned that Taehyung's just very uptight and always getting into their business as a third wheeler. For Karma's sake, Minho doesn't say that in front of him because he knows he'll probably end up dead. However to the rest of them, he makes it obvious how he can't stand the man around his girlfriend.

Got to love the Kim Twins and their charms with people.

The choreography of the skaters finished rather too quickly for their group performance and ended it with a bow to the crowd, earning intense cheers from the entire audience. Jeongguk was smart to turn off his hearing aids by this point because his ears would definitely not be able to handle the volume of this environment.

Some habits he hates to do but has grown into the habit of doing it.

From there one pair or skater at a time began to show off their performance. Jeongguk lowered the frequency so he can still hear the music very faintly, but it's definitely much better than enduring the intense volume of hearing a lot of people cheering all at once. It was really nice to see skaters and pairs show what they can do at a friendly competition after the Olympics, with relaxed and elegant moves and smiles on their faces to the music unlike the intense pressure in the eyes of the world.

Clearly everyone felt their energy too and were enjoying it as much as they were.

When Taehyung and Seulgi entered the rink, Jeongguk unfortunately did have to turn off his hearing aid and just focus on the vibration against the chair instead for the beat of the music because everyone was going havoc to the duo.

They're one of Korea's pride after all.

Seeing Taehyung out there sometimes would seem so strange because of how identical he looks like Karma. Anyone would easily confuse the two, even from close up. The only possible difference they have has to be the hair and the fact that Karma's voice is much more deeper and clear, like a knife. While Taehyung's is gentle like the depth of honey and mushy in his sentences, if that makes any sense.

Actually Taehyung's Korean is also a bit broken because as a child he went away for a while to France to practice skating for twelve years. Sometimes he would visit Karma, but it wasn't so frequent because of their schedules. Then Taehyung moved back to Korea a a year and a half ago to skate here officially, but with his Korean not being so fluent and carrying a heavy accent, that he still has to this day.

Maybe their eyes too because Taehyung has a left mono-lid and right double lid. Meanwhile Karma has a left double lid and right mono lid. Other than that they're completely identical. But obviously one has to pay close attention to those small details, and Jeongguk just so happens to be very observant when it comes to these things when he keeps his mouth silent most of the time.

Out on the ice the clear differences to how the two skate is definitely obvious as well. Karma is more of a passive- aggressive sport skater while Taehyung revolves more around elegance and patience. The one similar thing they have about skating is that the two can easily motivate anyone to follow in their footsteps to be just as great as they are, and that's how Jeongguk is feeling right now.

Seeing how Taehyung would easily lift Seulgi into the air, twirl her around his body, pose in positions for a long period of time while making it look so simple was like a sight from a ballet movie. They perform as though they have the time of the world, filling hope into anyone's eyes that they could be like that someday.

Shit, even Jeongguk believed it too.

By the time the duo finished, the crowd exploded in cheers. Even Jeongguk stood up and clapped enthusiastically with stars glittering his eyes, howling in joy. The whole team was going insane, jumping around and screaming their names that would wave over the large audience in support.

It was loud enough for Taehyung and Seulgi to notice them, sending them smiles and waves joyfully as they skate out of the rink while other skaters would go fetch the flowers that were thrown at them. Even by the time they were gone, Minho was still hyping them up aggressively until Ten had to yank him down out of embarrassment.

There was a little break now and Woosung went with Hongjoong to get them hot chocolate and other snacks. Some of the girls from the Speed Skating team had to leave since they have an early practice tomorrow morning. The women's hockey team are still here to watch the show while Seokjin and Ten decided to leave since nothing really caught their attention after Taehyung's performance.

All dressed up much more comfortably, Taehyung and Seulgi arrived to where they were, earning the hype of their entire group of friends. The women instantly poured praises to the two while Taehyung ended up sitting on the empty seat in front of Jeongguk beside Karma with a wide smile in joy. Seulgi instinctively went to her boyfriend and he proudly hugs her tightly to her amazing performance.

"How did I do? I felt like my legs were trembling at one point during my ending lift," Taehyung sighs tiredly with his breathless smile, making his twin massage the back of his neck to ease him down.

"I saw that," Minho says back, a little attitude in his tone that made Seulgi playfully slap his arm to not cause a scene, "Wouldn't be pleasant if you dropped my girlfriend."

Taehyung's smile didn't fade but it grew tighter, raising his middle finger up at him, "I wasn't asking for your opinion now was I?"

"SHHHH! The next pair is coming up!" Felix snaps, pointing to the rink just as the next duo entered the ice; precisely on time Woosung and Hongjoong arrived to bring everyone their hot chocolate before taking their seats.

This pair is oozing with confidence. From their stance to the music, everything about it screamed confidence in their every movement and to their perfect facial expressions to meet their feisty aura. Watching them screamed such a difference in performance and attitude, one that was just forced to be reckoned with.

Wow, what a pair.

Even the choreography is feisty and filled with attitude like their blood red outfits, appearing almost like a Phoenix couple. Sharper movements, passionate exchanges in stares and risky jumps that would make Jeongguk's jaw drop.

Beautiful.

Absolutely bea-

Jeongguk spoke too soon.

He knew he did when Taehyung abruptly shot to his feet in horror when the man threw the woman into the air as she spun to land back in his arms, but he tripped on the pick of his skate and landed face front on the ice.

As for the women....

A loud scream echoed somewhere in the bleachers, followed by multiple gasps and horrified screeches. Jeongguk looked away before he could see her fall, eyes snapped shut and immediately turning off his hearing aids with shakily hands.

Feeling his heart spike up in anxiety to the ghostly screams echoing his ears.
