Almond Eyes - Novaa
"Why are we here?"
Jimin really thought Taemin couldn't have gotten any more ridiculous than he already is; first with the partners and now this.
An Ice Skating show.
This is without a doubt and completely a waste of precious time. Jimin could be practicing right now with his, thankfully, new partner who actually doesn't seem to be so strayed behind from from the other dancers; He's a tall man, buff and quite serious as well which seems like it's a good sign that he's serious about his work or what he does.
Finally, someone Jimin needed.
However, there's a problem.
Jimin doesn't trust him.
He is also very aggressive when he twirls Jimin around or when he carries him for the lifts that his hands are too tight on his waist and thighs. At first Jimin didn't really care but it became a bit of a problem when his hand would reach lower from his lower spine or higher from his thighs, but Jimin wanted to believe at first that he was just trying to find the appropriate positions to make it easier for their choreography.
That wasn't the case.
Not like Jimin cared if the guy wanted to fuck him, but work and personal life is meant to be kept separate. When they're on the job, they're on the job, then if the time comes that they do a good job than maybe in the locker room Jimin could jerk him off if he leaves him alone.
But that's the thing, Jimin didn't like him as a partner either way. Sure, he tolerates him since he's a better than the other dancing idiots, but doesn't mean he has to like him. Not because of his invading hands but because he's not graceful enough or even showed charisma for his character.
So Jimin complained to Taemin for another partner and well, Taemin wasn't so pleased after he heard about the invading areas. First he spoke to Johnny, the said partner about the concern, and he said he wasn't trying to cross boundaries and he apologized to Jimin and promised to get better.
That still didn't stop Jimin from still wanting a new partner since he just doesn't trust himself to be flung around by him.
That's why they're here, in this ice rink, watching an skating performance. Why? Well Taemin wanted to give this as a demonstration to Jimin and his partner the value of trust and working together to make a good performance.
Guess Jimin has to deal with Johnny then because clearly Taemin is fed up finding anyone else, at least Johnny is serious and responsible so whatever, maybe they can work through it if Jimin was a little less picky.
But by watching an ice skating competition is definitely not going to change anything. It's about practice, not watching a bunch of skaters trying not to die with the knives on their feet. They need to keep practicing, but obviously Taemin just waves him off when Jimin complains as he lead them to the ice cold bleachers.
A mean scowl forms Jimin's when he sits down on the seats, bleachers? Whatever these are called, and scrunches his body under the pea coat to stop shivering. It wasn't helping his annoyance when Taemin suddenly slurped on the hot chocolate from the metal mug, letting out a happy sigh while the bleachers began to get filled with people.
"This is going to be great! A close friend of mine runs the pair skating program competing today and he's absolutely amazing! You're going to enjoy this-"
"Taemin, I love you but if you keep talking I will pour the hot chocolate all over you," Jimin mutters through his gritted teeth, making Taemin's smile twitch wider as he gently nudges him with his shoulder against his arm, twitching Jimin's scowl to deepen.
Thankfully he didn't say anything, only blossomed into a conversation with Johnny to his other side as he flutters him into a whirl of information about the pair skating program is friend coaches; not like Jimin was paying attention either way.
Seems like these events are pretty popular because there's just crowds and crowds of people coming in with their warm coats, finding the right seats to watch the performance. For the sake of Jimin's identity from being spotted, he's seated in the back so no one would recognize him or risk any magazine reporters from asking him questions. Even if they did, it's not like he cared. He just wants to get this shit over with so he can go back home and practice.
Since they're clearly wasting valuable time. They could be going over possible routines for his next show in a few months now that he has a partner, but no Taemin has to be a little annoying social butterfly and drag Jimin to this stupid show.
Abruptly a loud commotion echoed the rink over the music that's suppose to keep the people entertained, instantly forcing Jimin's attention to flicker and land on a group of friends going up the stairs and slide to the row of seats two bleachers away from being in front of him.
You've got to be joking.
His glare was clearly evident, intensifying to this one guy specifically cracking up jokes the loudest out of the whole group, provoking laughter to bubble out of everyone that made Jimin's lips twist in distaste. There's at least eight of them with a few girls along too from what he can see. They're practically hogging two rows but easily able to speak to one another- Even if it's through screaming across the damn bleachers from where they are.
However there's one of them that's trying to calm down the commotion, making Jimin eyebrows furrow to the signs he's making with his hands that later made everyone start to also do the same.
Hm, someone in the group must be deaf.
Well, at least they quieted down, and hopefully remain that wait for the entire show-
"Namjoon! Hurry up!"
The sound of that name was like a direct explosion from somewhere in Jimin's body, provoking a reaction of his eyes widening when a freckled boy standing up waves at the said person over enthusiastically.
Oh this day gets so much better.
Jimin's cheeks instantly flushes when he sees a familiar male jogging up the stairs with a black cap on and a radiating smile. There's no possible way to describe how Jimin wanted to completely stop existing right now, only relying on raising up his scarf below his eyes to cover most of his face and anxiously look away when the boy began to greet everyone there.
Don't notice me.
Don't notice me.
Don't fucking notice me.
Jimin was practically chanting a prayer in hopes it would work to his favor, but of course his luck has never been successful because Namjoon eyes did stray to him while he was greeting one of the girls. They shared a moment of awkward eye contact until Namjoon told them that he'll be back before going up two sets of stairs, taking the empty seat beside Jimin.
The evident uncomfortable tension is clearly there and Jimin didn't even know how to feel right now by being so close to him again, but it's definitely anything but humble emotions.
"What are you doing here?"
Namjoon's voice is monotone but clearly he's trying to appear as though he's unfazed, and that's something that Jimin wasn't a fool of.
So he sits up straight, finding it pointless now on keeping his scarf up, clearing his throat, "That doesn't concern you. We're not together anymore."
He didn't have to look to know Namjoon's facial expression, but he can practically feel those sadden puppy eyes with the deep frown on his handsome face. No, Jimin didn't want to look because he knows his toughen walls will nudge, just slightly and that'll be enough for his guard to drop completely.
Once upon a time when they were the ideal couple, lasted a year together, of course Jimin still cares about him but obviously he has his duties to do. His career should be his only focus and priority. He was stupid enough to think he could be in a relationship with someone who clearly couldn't understand that. Even though Namjoon had his own things to do since he's in the Olympic Hockey team, Namjoon wasn't taking his responsibilities seriously anymore due to their relationship, since he just wanted to spend time with Jimin.
So in reality, even though Jimin tore his heart and stomped on it before his eyes before burning it to ashes, he did both of them a favor. Besides as Namjoon grew clingy to him like a soft little puppy, Jimin grew more annoyed because he had to focus on his ballet practices and performances, so they would find themselves fighting often than usual.
It would be a lie for Jimin to say he doesn't miss him from time to time, or miss having someone to pour him attention, but it's for the best.
If his partners do not understand Jimin's priorities or their own priorities and making it important, then there's no point in the relationship.
Even if it hurts him.
"Right," Namjoon sighs, nodding and standing up now, "I hope you enjoy the show."
Jimin couldn't help himself anymore. His eyes betrayed him by flickering over, locking his gaze with his ex- boyfriend. The two shared a very foggy stare, one that Namjoon wanted to pour out how much he hoped Jimin could change his mind. That was like fuel for Jimin's heart to grow colder, his eyes becoming icy before snapping it back to the rink.
Nothing more was pressured on the matter, and Namjoon goes down with the rest of his group with his wide forced smile as one of the girls saved him a seat to sit as they all immediately drown into their own enthusiastic conversations.
Jimin only kept his head high, watching the rink with his teeth grinding together and a fit tight on his lap; one that Taemin covered with his own hand with a gentle squeeze as comfort.
Not being aware of the pair of eyes that was silently watching the entire exchange with silent lips.
