Hey lovelies!

So this story is definitely going to be a different genre or surrounding a different area from what I'm use to writing often, this is definitely going to be a bit new to me. I've been having this story saved here for months now, debating if I should publish it or not, but I believe we all could learn something from it, including myself, and hopefully be a great inspiring story for all of you!

This is going to be a slow burn story, since I really want to focus on this very stigmatic concept of two males figure skating together, while also setting awareness to mental health awareness month! So if you've read Broken Dollies, it's going to have various of similar variables to it.

As for the angst, I don't believe it'll have too much angst, but with my stories I can guarantee you an angst or two scenes here and there.

For those who aren't familiar with my writing, I tend to write about the main characters sometimes having romantic relationships or sexual relationships with other people before they come together. I like taking my time and write with a lot of realism too, so I don't like rushing things such as attraction or relationships with the main characters so quickly.

With that being said, I don't want to read or see comments that says 'I thought this was a jikook story?' 'If it's not jikook I don't want it' 'Are they going to end up together or what' etc etc etc. I want my books to be seen more than a jikook story, but as an actual story that you'll be drawn more by the plot than the ship. Yes, jikook are going to end up together, but be patient. This is all part of life, we meet people and it doesn't work out and we get our heart broken and move on. They're going to learn a lot about that in this story.

Now onto the law stuff!

Disclaimer:

I don't owe the characters of this story, this doesn't reflect how the life of BTS like, or any members of any other groups or celebrities that may appear in this book.

This book is also entirely my idea, so if there's a book that just so happens to have this same idea as well, it's entirely coincidental. I have full copyrights of this book, so plagiarism is not tolerated.

I also want to state that I'm not an expert in ballet, speed skating, and figure skating and the process when it regards to competing and how it's different for other locations. So please go easy on me, I always try to do research before hand but if there's anything I'm mistaking at all please let me know.

This story will also contain many scenes, with such as: Smut, minor violence scenes, bulimia, starvation, anorexia, overdose, homophobia, ableism, tradition and conservative harsh views, sexual content and intense language, etc, so please be careful while reading this book, I want everyone to be okay, so if you are unable to read any of the contexts it has, please stop reading.

I will provide the following emojis to each chapter when there's a specific scene that will appear:

Smut or sexual scenes:🔞

Bulimia, Anorexic thoughts, mentions of starvation: 🚨

"Again."

The strong clutch in Jimin's chest is inevitable, panting out gasps of breathes from his dry lips with hooded eyes now filled with nothing but blurriness as he stares at the ground, hands planted to his knees to maintain himself stable. There's this familiar cramping ache at the base of his foot, but he can't do anything to aid it now.

He has to keep pushing through.

Jimin takes a deep breath through the nose with the self motivation, wipes his forehead with the back of his hand before standing up right, regaining his balance and approaches his partner. The tall man is practically wheezing, a loud whistle breath that would sound similar to a teapot screaming, but Jimin only gets to position with his fierce eyes staring at himself from the large mirror.

"And begin."

Jimin didn't wait to see whether his partner was ready or not, the second the music played he did his part and did a pirouette with his pointe shoes and jumped himself to his partner's arms.

One twirl.

Second twirl-

Fuck!

A loud slam echoes in the theater the second Jimin's body crashes to the floor, his elbow landing first to the ground before his entire body from how high in the air he was. Every single breath escaped his lungs, like a damn hammer slamming to his abdomen, the impact feeling like a brutal punch that he was not expecting for by his partner's weak energy to just fucking drop him.

"Oh God- Jimin I'm so sorry-"

"Imbecile!" The horrendous voice of the instructor's booming voice echoed the stage, strong steps storming towards the pair with his eyes blazing in red, "Focus! This is your partner! You can't just drop him! Could've just said you needed a damn break!"

The said partner, Park Seojoon, immediately began to blab nonsense through his panting breathes in an attempt to explain himself how exhausted his body is- since they've been training for the past eight hours on this same routine now. It was still like an abrupt shock to Jimin that he was even dropped in the first place, since this has never happened with any of the previous partners he's had before, so he lays there as it settles in through every heaving breath passing through his lips.

And his hands balled into a fist.

"I want a new partner."

Scolding words from the instructor abruptly stopped, along with Seojoon's desperate attempt to prove his innocence. Jimin didn't care. His eyes are blaring in anger as he manages to get to his feet, his full focus only to the instructor with his elbow burning.

Mr. Lee, or Taemin for informality, looks at him with a distraught expression, slightly glaring to Jimin sudden statement, "This is the fifth time you requested a different partner."

"Well at least the other ones didn't drop me!" Jimin retorts back bitterly, making Seojoon flinch to the harsh tone in his voice, "Maybe if you didn't pick amateurs than I wouldn't have to be asking you for a fucking change!"

And with that Jimin turns around, ignoring the pain on his elbow before grabbing his stuff and storming off the stage; not giving either male time to even utter a word to him.

For years Jimin has been raised to be the best when it comes to ballet, and if there's anything he's learned from those difficult years it's that his partner has to be equally to his level in order to excel. If not you'll fall behind or- in this literal case- actually fall. In the past Jimin has shared his annoyances with his coach's choices when it regards to any partners he was forced to be paired with. Females and males, since they're never good enough for his expertise.

They always play it safe, restricting their full capability for their own fear to fail.

So fucking ridiculous.

Jimin never fails, that's why he refuses to play it safe. The second someone is his partner, he automatically trusts when with his body, where it's to lift them or they lift him, he doesn't think about it because that's how he makes a perfect performance.

And he hasn't been lucky. This being the line for his tolerance to Taemin's decision making in partners.

That's why he trains and trains, and if his partner isn't prepared as he is, there's truly no point in continuing on is there?

The icy crisp of wind bellows against the frost pink skin of the skater's face, not focusing on the way it feels like multiple shards of glass is sinking into him as he skates at a 35 mph with his body hunched over, the pressure piling up along with the screams of the audience.

He doesn't stop, no matter if one of the players already slid against the ice in a failure to keep balance once they reached the curve, now going at 40 mph, slamming against the cushioned borders; that seconds later was followed by another body who failed to keep balance.

No, Jeongguk didn't lose focus, even if that was distracting to avoid. If anything, his focus strengthened as he took lead, skating so quick that appeared as though he was flying through clouds of ice. Hawk eyes narrowed with lips pursed tightly to the final curve before the finish line.

The death curve.

This is the curve that usually sends people either flying to the sides or causing them to lose their pace to not crash just because they're now at 40 mph. With Jeongguk being in front, he's at an advantage for sure since he didn't have to worry about anyone in front of him, but that means he can't let anyone pass him.

He doesn't have to worry about slowing his pace, if anything he needs to maintain it and keep moving.

Upon reaching the curve, his body leaned to the side with the support of his hand on the ice, gliding his stability as he skated with determined eyes directly to the goal and nothing but the goal. It was this drive and this sensation of the ice against his gloves that froze his icy heart, now in complete competitive mode to watch out from upcoming competitors.

Yet as predicted, many competitors lost their balance and slid across the ice and away from the race. Others held up their stance while a great portion or slowed their pace, unable to keep up with the speed skater from Korea. Once they finally manage to finish the curve, in a hurry attempt to catch up; it was too late to catch up.

Jeongguk won.

First place.

"Jeon Jeongguk of South Korea has won the Gold Medal for the 1500 Speed Skating for the 2021 Olympic Games!"

The crowd is growing chaotic, screaming cheers and throwing flowers to the rink due to the amazing achievement with the pride being the man with the colors of his country's flag. The speed skater only shared a small smile to the crowd in excitement, waving shyly to the crowd that earned a few heartwarming blow kisses while accepting the pats and congratulating of his fellow competitors from the race, before going to the border to where a very smug Coach Hoseok leans against it to the young skater.

"You did good."

Jeongguk's eyes flickered to Hoseok's hand signs before breaking into a wider smile. That was all he really needed to see in order to know he actually did good, the approval from his coach to his performance. So much more joyful, he secretly takes the hearing aids from his palm and removes his helmet and glasses to brush his hair back and adjust the aids to his ears.

With one small flicker of a button, Jeongguk heard the muffling noises now much louder and clear from the crowd cheering for him. His eyes glowed to the attention, looking back to the them from his stance and waving one last time to his enthusiasm before getting off the ice.

Immediately he was showered by his team in multiple hugs and praises, chanting his name loudly as he embarrassedly puts on the ice skate guards, trying to not let the fact he won gold medal get too much into his head. Being the youngest speed skater in the league is tough as it is, but being a gold medalist definitely beats all odds that nothing is ever impossible.

Even for someone with deaf disabilities and speech deficiency like Jeon Jeongguk.
