Transition

We stopped at a gas station on the way. Before we got off the car, Jimin took off his jacket and handed it to me.

"Put it on. You have blood all over you."

I looked down and realized that indeed there were splatters of dark crimson all over my shirt. It must have been the blood of the man Jimin shot after I tackled. I accepted the jacket and put it on around myself. He also handed me some tissue to wipe the blood on my face off.

We got out of the car and he went to open the trunk. Turned out Jimin had picked up our luggage. He got a another jacket for himself while I got out a new shirt and hoodie. We went to the toilet to get change and then into the 24 hours convenient shop. I picked up some snack and a drink. As we were paying, I watched the small TV at the corner which was on an 24 hours news channel.

It showed footage of Yoongi's mansion half-destroyed, while firemen pumped gallons of water in an attempt to drown the last of the withering flame. The night scene was illuminated with various strong lights from the firetrucks.

The reported said into her mic, "Breaking news: there was an explosion at the home of Blaze's CEO, Min Yoongi. So far, ten people, including guards and workers, were found dead. It is believed that more are to be found inside. The cause of death of six of them is a shot to the vital area. The two residents of this house are yet to be found. Police believe that this case is related to to the sudden skyrocket in gang crime recently. A serious investigation will be conducted."

Jimin and I finished paying and got back into the car. We were on the road once again.

"Yoongi, Eunjung..." I muttered worriedly, "Do you think they're alive?"

"I'm sure they are," Jimin said, "Thy are two of the most skilled people I know."

I leaned my head against the car window and watched the view flying pass. Yes, they were fine, I was sure of it.

After a while, I spotted Gimhae International Airport at a distance. We soon entered the parking level of it. Jimin got a long term parking ticket and we proceeded to go check in. We were in a hurry because we were slightly delayed by what happened, but we managed to board the plane in time. This was my first time being on a plane since I was little so this all felt a little foreign to me.

The ticket Jungkook bought for us were business class, so we had good legroom. We were seated at the two seats next to a window.

"Jimin, what are we going to do after we get there?" I asked while the plane was taxiing.

"We stay there until the war is over." Jimin answered in a quiet voice so that only I could hear.

"But what if Bludhood wins?" I said with the same volume of voice. We had been so sure FIRE would come out victorious at the end that we hadn't even stop to think about our course of action if that doesn't happen.

Jimin seemed to be concerned about the same thing. He sighed deeply, "Even if Yoongi and Eunjung can't continue with their work, Jungkook is still there. And there are many other reliable executives of FIRE."

I nodded with furrowed brows. If Bludhood did somehow indeed came out in top, then that meant I might never be able to return to Korea since they were pursuing me for whatever reason that I don't even know. The outcome of this war could decide the future of my life.

Jimin intertwined his hand with mine on the arm rest between us, as if to give me silent encouragement.

As the flight took off, I leaned my head on Jimin's shoulder and closed my eyes. I felt him leaning his head on top of mine. I smiled at this small thing that made me happy, and willed myself to forget what had been happening for just the moment.

-----

I was awoken by Jimin after what felt like minutes and it turned out we had already arrived in Hong Kong. Apparently I missed the snack that the air hostess gave out. I undid my belt, grab my bag, and followed the beeline out the plane door. I was yawning all the way through since it was something around 4 in the morning in Korea right now.

The Hong Kong International Airport was a modern one. I went on one of those moving walkways and soon arrived at the boarder control. We waited in line for a short while before we got stamps in our passports and was allowed through to the luggage area.

"We're meeting someone from MK, right?" I asked as we picked up our suitcases.

Jimin nodded, "Jungkook said the person from MK knows who we are."

We walked through one of the 'nothing to declare' tunnel and out into the area where people were picked up. We continued walking, we had no idea what the MK guy looked like.

Then a guy approached us quietly. "Song Yerin, Park Jimin?"

We turned around and saw a man in casual clothes.

"Please follow me." The man said in English.

We followed him out of the airport and into a car. He started driving through the busy roads of Hong Kong.

"Do you know anything about his gang?" I asked Jimin in Korean.

"They've been around for longer than FIRE," Jimin answered. "They went through a similar thing as FIRE a few years ago. They had an internal conflict over the position of leader after their previous leader was assassinated by a betrayer. Their currently leader is the son of the previous one."

"The leader of MK, do you know him?"

"No, but I know he's good friends with Yoongi-hyung." He said. I nodded.

After around half an hour of car journey, the driver announced, "We are in Mongkok."

He drove us to a more industrial-looking area.

He stopped in front of a small metal door and got out to type a code into a pad next to it. It made a beeping noice and the door unlocked. He gestured for us to go up. He told us to stop when we were on the third floor and got out some keys to unlock one of the apartment and let us in. Inside was small and old, reminding me of my old apartment. The MK member shoved the key in Jimin's hand and left.

The apartment only had one bedroom, a toilet, and a small cooking area. We settled in and quickly got ready for bed since it was almost five in the morning. The bed made some strange cranking noise as we got on it but luckily it didn't smell.

-----

The next morning, we were woken up by someone pressing the door bell to this apartment. Jimin groaned and went to open the door. I got up, put on a hoodie, and went out the room to see what it was as well.

It was the MK guy from yesterday. He said something in English which I barely understood, and gestured for us to go out.

"Where do you want us to go?" Jimin said in Korean.

I don't think he did understand what Jimin said, by he replied in English anyway. "The Boss wants to see you."
