Funeral

The day after, Jungkook personally came to oversee the training again. When he walked through the big door at the front of the warehouse, I caught him giving a look at Sunghyun, as if thinking of what to do with him.

When he stopped in front of the group of trainees, they all bowed to him, "Good morning Sir!" This time I quickly followed.

"Hello everyone," Jungkook said eyeing all of us. "I have your missions."

I noticed the rest of the trainees' gazes changed.

"Yerin, you first, follow me." He nodded towards the opposite end of the warehouse and I followed him there until we were out of the earshot of the rest.

"I'm not giving you your mission, since you already have it," Jungkook said once we stopped. "But I need to tell you something." He took a breath himself as it he wasn't ready to say what he was about to. "Yoongi-hyung's funeral will be in a week. Eunjung has organised everything and she said you're welcomed to attend."

"Oh," I casted my gaze downward as this reminded me of what I had been trying to bury at the back of my mind. So this was real? "Jimin is going, right?"

"I haven't ask him yet, but I'm sure he will," Jungkook replied. He sighed, "I can't believe this is finally happening."

"I know what you mean," I sighed as well.

He gave me a pat on the back and we went back to the rest. He called Taehyung out next.

I slipped into the black dress I prepared just for this occasion and brushed my hair until it was completely neat. Finally, I chained back on the 'J' necklace. I then went out of the room and down the stairs. As I neared the living room, I heard shouting over the background noise of the TV.

"Why do you keep on doing this to us?" I recognised this voice to belong to one of the guys that came into my room after the necklace incident. "I've been putting up with you for so long!"

Sunghyun calmly said back, "Then keep on putting up with me like you have. Why decide to speak up now?"

Their attention turned to me when I stepped in the room, adjusting my necklace.

"You," Sunghyun pointed at me, "Ever since you came back they've been acting up. I know you told them to do this."

Instead of being fazed, I fixed a cold glare at him and said, "Yes, I did."

"Why? Why not just conform, it's so much easier." He said, as if luring me into giving up my little 'rebellion' against him.

"Because I have the ability not to," I answered.

He huffed, "You are exasperating." He looked me up and down, "Where are you going anyway?"

"To Min Yoongi's funeral," I said. I spotted Taehyung watching TV, ignoring the whole fight. He was in a suit as well. "Taehyung, you ready?"

"Yea, look," he nodded at the TV that he was trying to focus on. It showed live footage of where the funeral was taking place. A few people were already turning up. I saw that Eunjung was the first one to go in, and an explosion of camera flashes went off as she was walking into the open funeral hall.

The female reporter said into her mic , "Today is the funeral of Blaze's ex-CEO, Min Yoongi, who died of a gang attack." When she heard the flashes, she attempted to get closer to the blocked off path in between the reporters for the funeral attendees and gestured for the camera to follow her as well. She almost ran into another camera on the way.

"We have just seen the first mourner, Oh Eunjung. She is the current CEO of Blaze, and was Min Yoongi's long time girlfriend. She was a victim of the same attack that took Min Yoongi's life, but fortunately she..."

"Well, I better get going," I said, but it was more like an announcement for Sunghyun and his gang to stop pestering me. Taehyung stood up from the sofa.

Just at that time, the door opened, revealing Jimin and Jungkook behind him.

"The code still haven't changed after so long," Jimin commented as he walked through the door. He looked breathtaking in the black suit that looked rather expensive.

Jungkook was rather dashing as well.

I hurried to Jimin and placed a kiss on his cheek. He smiled when he saw me still wearing the necklace.

"Come on, let's go." Jungkook motioned for us to get back out and into his car outside. Taehyung got into the front seat next to Jungkook and I went in the back with Jimin.

The whole ride was somber. No one said anything because no one wanted to, or knew what to say exactly.

I could already see the crowd of reporters and cameras all the way down the road as we approached the funeral hall.

"Is it alright for me to be seen by so many people?" I asked, "Bludhood is still after me."

"It's fine," Jungkook answered, "They won't dare to make a move with so many memebers of FIRE here. And we have secured the area around."

Jungkook parked at the designated parking area for funeral attendees next to the hall and we got off. I linked hand with Jimin and we began walking down the path between the reporters together.

Another waves of flashes went off, and I could vaguely hear my name being spoken by some reporters. I hesitated before stepping into the hall that was heavy with death. Inside, there places a shrine at the back end of the grand hall. Rows of seats lined at either side, half of them already filled with mourners. A giant monotonous picture of Yoongi sat atop of the shrine, a faint smile on his face as if he would just come alive at any moment. Surrounding him were bouquets of white flowers of various kinds. As I approached, I could smell the faint fragrant of sadness they gave off.

I looked at the elevated coffin placed in front of the shrine. It was a closed casket. Eunjung stood by the side of the shrine, sadness obvious in her eyes.

Jimin and I paused a distance away, and the funeral director started announcing for us.

"First bow." We bowed once.

"Second bow." We bowed twice.

"Third bow." We bowed thrice.

We exchanged a few words of condolence with Eunjung before finding our seats at the second row. Jungkook and Taehyung did the same and took their seats. Taehyung came to sit next to me, whereas Jungkook took a seat at the first row, a seat that was second closest to the shrine.

I glanced around the large audience. The whole of the first row was almost filled except for the seat closest to the shrine, which presumably for for Eunjung. I guessed that row was reserved for the executives of FIRE and Blaze and the important people. I could even recognise some famous people of different fields there. Wow, Yoongi really had a lot of connections.

When the all the seats were filled, Eunjung signaled for the funeral director to begin the ceremony and took her seat. He was about to speak when he was interrupted by a sudden commotion among the reporters outside. Our attentions turned to the entrance of the hall.

We were graced by the last person on earth we thought we would see that day.

"Missed me?"
