Assault
"Me!? Why would they think that?" I said in disbelief.
"I don't know," Seoyun said, "but they seemed to be about to make a move soon. I heard them talking about raiding an apartment, probably this one."
I shook my head in denial, "No, this can't be! How did they know about here!?"
"I don't know either, that's all I heard."
I slumped onto the sofa and rubbed my temple, "Thank you, Seoyun."
She smiled meekly, "No problem. You saved me, after all." She then hesitated before saying, "...What about my brother Shiwoo?"
I have enough to deal with at the moment with the new-found knowledge of my ex-boyfriend being in a gang opposing the one me and my current boyfriend is in, and now the police on my trail, I didn't want to add another problem, so I lied. "He's alright. But the leader of FIRE is still not letting him go yet."
She let out a sigh of disappointment, "Please, please just keep him safe. I know he got himself into this mess, but please, tell the leader not to hurt him! I'll do anything to have him back!"
I forced an insincere smile onto my face, "I'll do my best to convince the leader, as long as you don't forget your promise."
She nodded, "I promise I won't tell." And then she turned and left through the door.
I had to sit and think for a second after this shocking revelation was made to me. Why would the police think that I'm the Busan Killer!? And how did they know about this apartment? I grabbed my phone and pressed Jimin's number, but to my dismay, no one picked up. I quickly phoned Jungkook, and he picked up.
"Yerin?" Jungkook's clear voice came through the phone.
"The police suspects that I'm the Busan Killer."
"Wait what," he laughed in surprise. "Are you serious?"
"Yes! And they even know about this apartment! What do I do!?" I asked, panic welling up inside.
"Calm down, Yerin," he paused for a while, then said, "have you contacted Jimin?"
"I tried phoning him, but he's not picking up," I replied.
"You should get out of that apartment as soon as possible then."
"W-Where should I go to?"
"I'll figure out place, but for now, just quickly pack what you need. And also, does Jimin still keep his weapons in the kitchen?"
"Yea." I nodded even thought he couldn't see it.
"Take all those with you too. And be careful with them."
I put down the phone and sprang into action. I grabbed a medium size bag, garbed some essentials that I needed, then ran into the kitchen and opened that cupboard. I quickly yet carefully moved the guns and other weapons into the bag, wrapping some of my clothes around them. When I was almost finished, my phone rang. It was Jungkook again.
"I found a place," Jungkook said. "It's a safe house of FIRE. I'll text you the address and how to get in."
"Okay, thank you," I said, slightly out of breath.
"Put on a mask or something so you're not as recognizable, just in case." He advised.
"Okay, I have one," I scuttled to the bedroom and fumbled around, finding a black mask.
"Good. I need to go now. I'll try to contact Jimin-hyung too, Please be careful by yourself, don't do anything that'd make you stand out."
"Thank you." I cut the phone call and set out to go to the address that Jungkook just texted me. It wasn't too far away and I could get there by foot in around 20 minutes. The good thing was that safe house was also in a rundown area so I wouldn't have to travel through the city.
I locked the apartment behind me, not even stopping to think that this could be the last time I'm here, and slipped on my mask before making my way out of the building with my bag. I walked as inconspicuously as I could and kept my head down. After a while as I neared the destination, I slowed down a little bit to catch my breath as I've been walking in a hurried pace.
I have entered the neighborhood next to the one Jimin's and my apartment were in. This area was similar, but it was infamous for its high rate of gang crime. It was a notorious for being an area under the control of FIRE, the most powerful gang in Busan that everyone knows about.
I avoided the gazes of some street thugs as I walked past them. I glanced up at a street sign and I realized that I just had to turn a corner to get to where the safe house is. I wonder what kind of house it is?
But I never found out. Abruptly, something hard smashed into the back of my head. It was not enough to knock me out but it caused me to drop my bag and stumble forward. My head was now spinning. I turned around but due to the blur of my vision, I couldn't make out the perpetrator, only a male figure in dark clothing. I saw that he charged towards me with a brick in his hands, intending to strike me again. But since I've been learning from Jungkook, I wasn't the weakling that I was before anymore. Through my dizziness, I forced my body to dodge out the way. The person groaned in frustration and tried again.
This time, I remembered the techniques Jungkook taught me and parried his raised arm. I dug my fingers into it, and then twisted it unnaturally into an arm lock. He grunted and dropped the brick. But then his other hand came up and smashed the side of my head. I screamed but didn't let go, instead kneeing him in the groin. He cried out loud and I immediately flipped him over to his back.
But suddenly, another wave of dizziness washed over me, causing me to loose my grip just a little. The angry man took the opportunity and forcefully yanked his arm out of my grip. I dropped onto the ground nauseously.
The brick once again came into contact with my head with an immense force. This time, it did its trick.
Blackness took over as the floor welcomed my limp body.
Jimin, save me.
