"I don't think I've properly introduced myself yet," Yoongi's girlfriend said to me when the conversation over dinner table stirred her way, "My name is Oh Eunjung, an executive and second in command of FIRE."

I had to stop myself from raising an eyebrow as I had assumed this stunning woman just to be Yoongi's girlfriend, not a top dog of FIRE. "Hello."

A knowing smile appeared on her face, and she continued, "Its regretful what happened. But don't worry, you'll be safe in Yoongi's and my proection from now on."

"Thank you." For some reason, I was a bit shy under her steady gaze. "About what Jungkook said... Minjun was in Bludhood, and members of FIRE killed him."

"Yes, about that," Yoongi started, "Yerin, you were attacked near the safe house that Jungkook told you to go to?"

I nodded, "Just around the corner."

A smile, with something close to menace, appeared on his face, "Good. That was our territory, and a member or Bludhood attacked one of FIRE there."

"Why is it good?" Taehyung suddenly asked, still chewing some food.

"Because I finally have a reason to declare war on them." Yoongi said.

"But why do you need a reason?" Taehyung asked again, "FIRE is powerful, right? You can just attack Bludhood whenever you want?"

Something changed within Yoongi's expression, "Why are you so interested?"

Taehyung stopped chewing and swallowed. "Um...I was just curious."

Yoongi put on a smile to mask what he was thinking, "Right.

Seeing the tension, I decided to say something, "So Yoongi, what do you mean declaring war?"

"I mean I'm going to obliterate them," he said, "they've been a nuisance long enough."

"But if you kill a lot of them, won't the police intervene?" I asked.

"Well, FIRE is a company on the surface world as well as a gang in the underworld,"
Yoongi explained, "We pay the government a lot of 'taxes', so they turn a blind eye on us. But Bludhood can't do that because they are not rich enough to pay or even to set up a believable company."

"That's cool," I said.

After dinner finished Taehyung
was preparing to leave. I went to say goodbye to him and thank him once again for helping with my rescue.

"Taehyung," I called out as I arrived at the front hall of Yoongi's mansion.

He stood back up from tying his shoelace, "Yerin?"

"I just want to thank you again," I said, "If it wasn't for you I would... still be there."

He grinned widely, "Don't worry about it! I'm just helping my friend!"

I smile back, "It's very late now. You should hurry home so your family don't worry."

He smile faded a little, "I don't have a family."

My brows furrowed. "Oh I'm sorry. I didn't know."

"Don't you know, Yerin? Everyone in our training group are orphans." He said.

"Oh," I honestly did not know that as no one told me. So that's why everyone was so young there.

"You have a family right? We all figured out you are special since you seem to know the executives of FIRE well and even our Boss." He said.

I merely smiled, "I just got to know them by chance. And my family is as good as dead anyway."

"Oh well. I should go now." He waved as he left the house, "Bye Yerin!"

"Bye Taehyung." I waved back.

On my way back to the bedroom, thoughts occupied my head. If what Taehyung said was true, that means Shiwoo was an orphan too, which means so is Seoyun. So maybe that was why Seoyun was so desperate to have her brother back. Now that her brother was dead, she was the only one in her family left alive in the world. I was really starting to feel bad.

I somehow managed to find my way back to the room that Jimin and I shared. He was already preparing to sleep when I arrived back.

"Where were you?" He asked when I entered the room.

"I was just saying goodbye to Taehyung," I answered.

He sighed as extending one of his arms,  gesturing me to get on the bed with him. I happily complied and climbed into the bed. He wrapped his arm tightly around me.

"From now on, don't you dare go anywhere without me," Jimin said. "I'll fucking track you down if you leave my side."

I chuckled at his protectiveness. "I won't."

His hands started sliding downward toward my thigh, but I stopped  him before he went too low. "I- I can't...sorry."

He purses his lips together, seemingly a bit annoyed that he couldn't do what he want. But he respected my decision and backed off.

"I need to get ready for bed," I said, pulling away. I quickly brushed my teeth, washed my face, and changed into a night gown that Eunjung lent me. I hopped back into bed and into his embrace again.

I tried to fall asleep but even after what seemed like the hundredth turn in bed, I just couldn't.

"Baby, what wrong?" Jimin asked groggily.

"I can't sleep." I said.

"Concussion?"

"No... Eveytime I close my eyes, I see images of... that."

"Want me to stay up with you?"

Seeing his tired state, I didn't want to wake him up. "No, it's okay. I'll just go for a walk."

He grasped my wrist before I could leave, "Don't go alone."

"Don't worry, I won't go out," I said, "I'll just be in the garden."

I slid out of bed, putting on some slippers before going downstairs and out into the back garden. It wasn't too big like the endless ones in palaces, but it was almost three times the size of Jimin's apartment not including the pool area.

I filled my lungs with the chilly night air. It cleared my head a little and I started walking down the garden, but I noticed a person right at the end, staring up into the night sky of the rural Busan.

"Eunjung?" I said when I realised who it was.

"Yerin?" She turned to me, "You can't sleep?"

I nodded. "You?"

"I'm just a late sleeper," she said. "Is Jimin asleep?"

"Yea," I said approaching her, "He wanted to come with me but I told him to sleep."

I could see her smiling. "This is the first time I've seen him like this since he killed Lee Miha."

"Lee Miha? Isn't that Jimin's first kill?" I remembered him telling me about it a while ago.

"He told you? Yes, they were good friends back in school. She was like you in a way, she got on with Jimin when almost no one else did. But she was very different from you. She had this arrogant air and always thought of herself as better than other people. I supposed that was why Jimin snapped and killed her."

I was surprise by how much she knew about Jimin. "Have you known Jimin for long?"

She nodded. "Yes, I've known him and Jungkook since I was seventeen."

"And Yoongi?"

"I went to the same school as him. Actually it was Yoongi who introduced Jimin and Jungkook to me. But enough about me. How are things between you and Jimin going?"

I sighed. "He's been uncharacteristically nice to me ever since what happened." I chuckled, "But it seemed like he's struggling to fit in the 'nice boyfriend' roll though."

Eunjung laughed. "I can imagine. How did you two start going out anyway? I can't imagine him being all romantic and asking you out."

"He stalked me for three months before revealing himself to me. And then so much happened..." I looked up in reminiscence, "It's so weird to think that just a year ago I was just any normal university student, and here I am now, in the house of a gang leader, and my boyfriend an infamous serial killer."

She smiled, "It all happened very suddenly to me too. I was just a high school student when I was dragged into this whole strange new world." She stopped walking and turned to look at me. "It's not everyday that someone is in our situation. Yerin, as someone who has been through similar things, let me give you a piece of advice."

I nodded and gave her all my attention.

"People often say that you shouldn't change for a guy. But in our world, fuck that. If you want to stay by his side, if you want to survive and succeed in the underworld, then you must adapt. Sometimes you'd have to do things that go against your principle. You have to put your own goal before other people."

I nodded again, keenly absorbing everything she said.

She continued. "I would kill for Yoongi... and I have. But that's a story for another time. I'm going back now. Night, Yerin." She walked back into the house.
