★━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━★
Happily skipping away from the exit of the park after bidding goodbye to Doctor Hoseok, I reached my house in a minute or two.
Making sure to cover my face with my baseball cap and mask, I walked past the neighborhood, entering my building and pushing the wooden door to my house, opening with a low creaking sound.
I took my cap off along with my vans, feeling the sticky feeling of sweat grazing the back of my neck.
I need to take a shower.
Scampering to the middle of the kitchen which was next to our living room, I heard my parents chatting away, and I somehow figured out that they were talking about me.
"But, I don't think Hana has a problem."
I heard my mom whisper which made me stop in my tracks and pay attention, even when I was told not to eavesdrop since my childhood.
They believed that I would never poke my nose in family matters and I always obeyed, being the ideal girl I was.
But was that always true? No.
In fact, I had mastered this ability to secretly eavesdrop. I could tell from their footsteps when and where they were present in the house, no matter how far. They would never know when I'd stand outside the room, listening to any gossip.
That's creepy though...
I quickly grabbed a glass and filled it with water, padding over to the doorframe. So if they would ask me what I was doing here, I would have a nice excuse that I came to fetch water from the fridge.
Smart?
No.
Sneaky.
That's what having strict and despotic parents made me do.
I pressed my ear to the wooden door which was shut closed. I closed my eyes and silently made an apology to God for doing this sin and breaking their trust. But this time, it was important to meddle in.
"I talked to that psychiatrist...he told me it isn't really possible because the chances are very low, especially in Hana's case."
It was my dad. I couldn't pinpoint what exactly were they discussing, but it was about me. And a psychiatrist...?
"After what happened yesterday, I don't think she has anything like that. She was a different person yesterday. I couldn't believe this was Hana by the way she talked and defended that boy."
Anything like what...!?
"Right. I don't even trust these stupid psychiatrists. They just make up anything to make money." He sighed.
"But if she was in the correct state of mind, why would she harm herself like that? She did that in the past too. I know we were a little too strict but no kid would like to end their life like she tried..." I heard mom suggest.
They were talking about the time when I tried to commit suicide. Of course, it was the talk of the town at the time....
I felt a tinge of pain erupting in the pit of my stomach with the faint memories of the blade, blood and myself.
Crimson red flowing from my wrist like a waterfall, my clothes all red like they were dyed. My parents shouting and a huge crowd encircling our house when they carried me outside.
That would have been really shameful for them....
"We were not strict. We were just protecting our daughter. Every parent would, if they care. Now if she wouldn't study, wouldn't even score passing marks then that would surely piss me off. We are not working our ass off to pay for her studies only to see her fail."
Dad's voice was a bit high which made me flinch as he smacked his hand somewhere on the table. He was angry, I could tell from his tone.
"And the best example is your best friend's daughter." He let out a sarcastic laugh, "she was never strict with her. She gave her all the freedom. Now look what she did? She molested a boy!"
"Don't talk about them. I have no connection with them now. I knew my daughter would never do something like that because we raised her that way..."
You didn't raise me like that...
It was me who never showed interest in these things. Not everyone is as innocent as your daughter, mom.
"But I just know my daughter is not mentally ill. She can't be."
Hearing this word, I squinted my eyes, trying to process if I heard that right.
They...They thought I was mentally unstable...?
I took a step back, that familiar pain surging through my scalp once again as it flashed in my scull, giving me a low, shocking ache.
"I know she isn't. But we can't let this topic down. She's our only daughter. Even if she has some... mental issues, I'm willing to help. Late is better than never. No matter how strict we act but we do care."
"That's why I'm giving her some freedom. She goes out everyday for a walk. She has started to study better than before. I've been a little gentle with her by the time so maybe she could get comfortable around me, as her mom."
So that's why she was acting all nice to me....
Is that a good sign?
"I don't really understand why the kids of this generation are always moody and sad. We provide them everything they demand of. Good clothes, delicious food, a house to live in. They get everything and still get nothing."
"Hana is our daughter. She'll be alright. We have to stay with her. Let's try our best."
I didn't hear their last conversation as I quickly turned back and gulped the cold water down my throat, which was tightened with a strange feeling.
If only you understood that I'm not moody or sad or broken.... I'm just.... depressed.

*Jungkook's POV*
"I still can't believe Jungkook. That girl can really be so cruel? How dare she!" Taehyung yelled, even though we talked about this the night before.
"It's okay Taehyung. I told you that she will get punished. She already got rusticated, they had to charge fine plus the humiliation they faced was no less. That's enough." I told him whilst ironing my creased shirt.
"Would you mind if I call her a bitch now?"
I shot him a deadly glare to which he immediately reacted, pushing his hands up in surrender.
"Okay okay... I'm sorry. But seriously, if that girl had not recorded you both, you could be in the court right now." He said and I sighed at his words.
"She would've been an angel in her previous life, I bet!"
"Not just previous, this life too." I smiled, folding my white shirt neatly and stacking it in my wardrobe along with 100 other white shirts.
"Did you know her?" He asked, a smirk visible on his handsome face.
"Uh, nope." I said, popping the p.
Though I met a girl with the same name on VoiceStar app, but I'm not sure if it was the same Hana or not..
"Don't lie. I know my Jungkookie is a shy little boy... even if you knew her you wouldn't tell me because you're scared of girls~" he said, or more like sang which made me flustered.
"I'm not shy!"
"You are!"
"I'm not! I'm a playboy!"
"Says the one who didn't visit the grocery store just because his classmate was the cashier."
Ouch.
I let out a huff, diverting my eyes from the boy whom I called my best friend. He had a mischievous glint shimmering in his honey eyes.
"Honestly Kook, we've known each other for three years now. Can't you act a little open with me?"
I wish I could, but I don't want to burden you with my thoughts Tae... you're already suffering enough.
"No Taehyung. I tell you everything that's on my mind. And about that girl... I don't know. She was someone who saved me and I'll never forget it." I replied, "and by any chance if I see her, I would offer her a polite treat. That's all I'm capable of."
"That would be cute. I'd love to see my Jungkookie being all shy shy whenever he would make an eye contact with that girl, oh my gosh!" he interrupted, a smug smile on his face.
"Shut up! Don't mention her anymore." I pouted, feeling a warm rush to my cheeks at an instant.
"Okay, one last question please!" He wheezed, throwing an arm around my shoulder. I shook my head to hide my overgrowing smile but he smacked the back of my head, forcing me to look at him.
"What?"
"By the way you mentioned, you saw stains of tears on her face too, right?" His tone was suddenly serious, which made me drift back to the previous night's thoughts.
I didn't see her clearly but yes, the stains were very visible. Like she was herself crying moments before coming to me...
"Y-Yeah...she was crying I think. But I didn't know the reason. I wasn't even in the state to ask her when I was the man." I sighed, emphasizing the word man.
"Maybe she herself was in some sort of trouble but still took the risk to save you. That makes it even more... impressive." He crossed his arms.
"Mhm.." I mumbled, trying to avoid any conversation regarding her. The more we discussed, the more horrid memories took over me.
"Anyways, I'm going to see Hobi hyung." I said, taking out my favourite grey sweatpants from my wardrobe.
There was a pause before Taehyung picked his phone from the bedside table, plugging his earphones in.
"Okay, I'll leave for home too. Tell him I said hi." His eyes twinkled when he turned back and I nodded before we parted ways. Him towards the main door and me towards the store room.
I made sure to take his favourite flowers, the sunflowers on my way. After all, he was going to listen to my rant for about an hour. A small gift was worth to appreciate him.
A/N
This was super boring but Thanks for reading :)
It was mostly dialogues but it's important. You see, there's a very large difference in the thinking of this generation and Gen X. My pathetic ass tried to portray it in the best way I could.
What do you think? Leave some votes and comments if you liked it :')
Until we meet again, take care 💜
