Chapter 16; Rebellion
I drew insane rin ^^
Rin glanced at Dr. Bisheer, who was a solid figure behind him. The man was seemingly radiating darkness and despair - which, coincidentally, did nothing for Rin's nerves.
The doctor just glared back, all cold and sharp angles, before glowering. "It's the same as before, Zero. She's your new dummy."
Rin gulped, staring at the man - who had just coincidentally pulled out a long, jagged knife to clean.
If I don't do it.. they might hurt me again - but I can heal.. so is it really worth killing her?
Dr. Bisheer poked Rin in his back with the knife, interrupting the boy's internal monologue, and growled. "Hurry up."

Rin's classmates watched on, still recovering from the guilt and trauma they felt once they realized how their actions had made the half demon feel - some were especially susceptible to the guilt, namely Yukio and Suguro. They were beating themselves up on the inside, and had fallen down in despair as they watched how their words and actions affected Rin.
Now, though, they were watching on in horror.
"Please don't do it, Rin." Shiemi whispered under her breath, traumatized, and the others couldn't agree more.
Meanwhile, Mephisto was looking on in interest. This was getting more entertaining than he had imagined - he knew vaguely what had happened, but not all the juicy details that he was currently sopping up. How riveting!
He also knew just how to turn Rin back, though the thing he needed to do it was very elusive. He could've found it and completed the task himself by now - but what was the fun in that?
~•§•~
Rin took another hard moment to think, though he knew he was pushing it. Soon, both he and the girl would be dead by the Vatican's hands - or, in his sake, severely injured. They couldn't kill their ultimate weapon for something like this, now could they?
I could attack Bisheer, I mean, we're alone - but that would count as treason, and I'd be executed for sure..
Apparently, the half demon had pushed it too far, because the tip of the knife pierced the cloth of his uniform shirt and lodged itself in his back, not very deep but enough to make it's painful presence known.
Rin let out a small yelp, yanking himself out of his head, which was more active than it had been in days. He twisted away from the knife to meet a face more scary than he had seen on any other - and he had witnessed Satan himself first hand.
Rin's tail tucked between his legs and he turned to the girl, who had went quiet as she, in an act of brilliance, let him think.
He had to act fast - he had to trust himself.
"Now!" Dr. Bisheer yelled.
"Don't do it, Rin!" The half demon's classmates each yelled out respectively, their voices horrified and pleading, even though they knew this was just a memory, that their words wouldn't change the outcome.
"No, no, oh god please, please don't hurt me—"
...a blast of blue flame erupted from Rin's raised hand, heading straight towards the girl's head.
The 'dummy' let out a scream so loud it rattled her own ears as the flame shot towards her. She squeezed her eyes shut moments before impact, preparing to die, and sent out mental 'I love you's to anyone she had held dear in her life.
Heat rushed over her head, engulfing everything she was, and the unnamed girl cringed, still screaming. Her voice quieted, though, when she still felt as good as new. Opening her eyes slowly, all she saw was blue.
Everything sported a cerulean tint, and a comfortable warmth surrounded her face - yet she wasn't dying or burning or anything of the likes. Far from it, actually.
She stared straight at the navy haired person across the room, her gratefulness radiating at him through a delighted grin.
He gave a small smile back, but it was suddenly wiped from his face as he doubled forward, blood beginning to slowly drip out of his mouth.
He had been stabbed straight through the stomach.
~•§•~
Rin felt the knife slide out of him, and without it holding him up, he fell to his knees, coughing out blood. He held a hand to his wound, clutching it hard and trying to stop the bleeding.
"No!" The girl yelled as she watched the person who spared her life get punished for doing just that.
She was soon dragged out of the room by two buff guards, thrashing against their solid grip the whole way out.
Meanwhile, Rin decided to speed the healing up - he was already going to get the shit beaten out of him, so he decided that he should milk this opportunity to disobey as much as possible.
With this thought burnt into his mind, Rin allowed his hand to light on fire before grabbing his bleeding chest in a solid, tight grip, which only tightened as a lifeline to steady himself from the pain - and coincidentally, inflict more while doing so. The half demon couldn't stop himself from letting out a soft scream, but he was used to pain by now, so it didn't bother him as much as it should've. Perks of being tortured, am I right?
After a few seconds, Rin removed his hand, revealing a red, irritated, but otherwise cauterized wound. Slowly staggering to his feet, he then turned to stare at Bisheer, already allowing his advanced demonic genes to spread through his newly gained wound and lessen the pain, healing it ten times faster than a normal human - maybe even quicker.
Allowing his stare to harden to a glare, Rin jutted his chin up, a bit of his old personality shining through - though it was still clouded with misdirected assumptions about himself. That wasn't what mattered in the heat of the moment though, all that matters was that he wasn't backing down. Not now, not ever - maybe the bluenette believed that he himself deserved all the shit thrown at him - maybe he didn't have anything left to feel for himself, to care for himself, but he still felt enough emotion to care for the innocent. He did not support any bystanders taking a hit for the sake of - of what? Why did Bisheer have him doing this? What was the point? What did the poor girl do wrong?
Bisheer was practically frothing. His fists were clenched, the knife thirsting for action. How dare his experiment betray him like this? The demon would pay.
Rin grit his teeth, eyeing up the knife that seemed to loom up, overshadowing everything else in his vision. The bluenette was preparing, ready to dodge, because he had a purpose again. He was going to save this girl - until he did, he couldn't allow himself to get hurt.. even if he thought he deserved every punch, stab, or assault aimed at him.
Before the half demon could blink and yank his head out of his self-depreciating ass, a knife was angrily whirling through the air, aimed straight for his head.
Woah, okay, they haven't tried that one before. Maybe he really does want to kill me now!
It wasn't a question - the half demon could see that Doctor Bisheer was out for him, blinded by rage. The knife was slashing through the air, promising a quick death in the way its blade glinted, hungry for blood.. and yet, since Rin was everything that everyone hated - namely, the son of Satan - he dodged easily. Time seemed to slow down, and the bluenette felt that he had all the time in the world to sidestep the object hurling towards him.
The knife clattered to the floor with a thunk, completely missing its designated target.
A moment of silence before—
"Guards! Take him to the chamber!" Dr. Bisheer roared, staring straight at a huge mirror that hung on the wall. One way glass?
..but Rin didn't have time to think about that right now. He could only register one thing. Chamber.
The boy had heard a few guards say chamber before, and the dreaded word mist always followed close behind.
No.
NO.
Rin only had one thought, blazing through his entire mind and taking it by storm, blocking out all logic and reason because fuck, he couldn't go back there - wouldn't. He held up a hand, pointing the limb towards the only door that lead into the room, which was a big metal wedge. Bisheer was heading towards it, and Rin saw the handle twisting as guards made their way in.
All he felt in that moment of sheer terror was no. He was not going back there - he'd rather be executed. The bluenette felt this urge build up in his chest, heavy and oppressive and pushing, it was pushing so hard and he needed to let it go, he needed to let go—
A plume of flame, not focused but huge, huge and smoldering, burst from his hand right as the door opened. The heat burnt the person who was heading in, sending his skin bubbling and fizzing unnaturally. Their hand, which was still on the door, was melted to the frame. His bones had gone to liquid and charred ash.
Another blast of flame sent the guard flying backward, his hand taking the door with him and slamming it closed. The heat from the blast then proceeded to almost immediately melt the metal of the door to its frame, rendering it impossible to touch and or open. It was red hot and sealed. Perfect.
Dr. Bisheer jumped away in shock, as this series of events had transpired in mere seconds. He barely suppressed an alarmed yelp as he watched his underling die - he was used to this gore, after all, so it should affect him too bad. His attention was so solely focused on the impact to his one and only escape, however, that he didn't notice a flaming Rin racing towards him, and by the time he turned and took in the almost bull-like demon, it was too late.
Rin was still feeling that itch. He hadn't let go enough, but he needed to - needed the release that he didn't quite know how to get. He wanted to let go so badly, but it was almost as if there was a lock on the ball of energy inside of him.. at least this time, he knew what the key was.
Instead of jumping on the man, Rin streaked past him, and in those thrilling moments when he was aware of every little thing around him, as the world slowed down, the half demon grabbed the Koma sword out of Bisheer's lab coat.
It had been held there by straps all along the inside, but even the seemingly infinite storage that coat had couldn't conceal the whole thing. The handle had been peeping out just barely, and Rin had hooked onto it as a life source, grabbing the thing and using that superhuman strength of his as means to rip the sword - along with the straps - clear off of Dr. Bisheer's coat.
Bolting a little bit away from the greasy haired man so Bisheer couldn't possibly get the sword, Rin relished the feeling as he drew the sheath off, slow at first but then tearing it because he could finally, finally push that energy out from the tight coil it had been pent up in. He could finally let it explode throughout his whole body, pulsing its power through his veins and shaking the air around him. He could finally let his flames free, and he was drunk on this elated feeling, this power - he was high on it.
His cerulean flames burst out with the force of a bomb, sending a shock wave throughout the room and throwing Bisheer into the nearest wall. Rin's last coherent, human thought was not the most pleasant thing to behold. It came accompanied by a devilish smirk as the last of the bluenette's sanity was ripped from him.
He deserved it.
As soon as he had finished thinking it, almost as if it was fuel to his ever growing fire, Rin's eyes split into three triangles, corrupt and shaking and utterly, utterly insane. He dropped Kurikara as his spine arched, his teeth and nails lighting up and growing into fangs and claws, his tail streaming wildly behind him.
The half demon was a growling, roaring mess, but he was greedy and letting his flames out wasn't enough, no, he needed something - someone - to take them out on.
Those fractured eyes landed on Bisheer, who was cowering in the farthest corner of the room, his lab coat burnt into small pieces and ripped. He was barely sheltered from the flames, and Rin was about to surge them forward and take him when a single thought echoed throughout his animalistic-turned mind.
He.. he hurt me. He deserves a slow, painful death.
And so, Rin let his flames pull back to him just slightly, fooling Bisheer into thinking he was safe enough to get to the door - though the good that would do, no one knew.
...right as the man got up, Rin jumped, soaring across the room like a feral cat, leaping an inhuman distance like it was nothing - because to him, it was nothing. This - this was just child's play.
Doctor Bisheer crashed back-first into the wall as Rin slammed into him, all snarling foam and growls and obscene, snapping jaws. The beast pinned Bisheer to the spot with claws that had lodged themselves straight through his upper arm. Boy, was Rin going to have a time with this.
He would make it hurt.
