"Don't worry, (Y/N), I'm not going to hurt you." Matt promised, "But I can't say the same for the fairies."

You would speak if you could. However, Matt had a cloth tied around your mouth so that you couldn't. You were also strapped to a chair with magic canceling material, so you wouldn't squirm and/or escape.

"You know," He continued, "at first, I was mad at you for abandoning me -- I mean, I was pissed -- but then I got to thinking. What if Fairy Tail never came into the picture? Would this have happened? I mean, you didn't start questioning yourself until you met them, so it's really their fault that you left me." He crossed his arms and smirked at you, "That's why I'm going to kill them -- all of them."

"Mmmmm!" You tried to protest against the action, but your words were only muffled.

"And you're going to help me do it." Matt added. He held up a syringe with black liquid in it. "With this."

Your (e/c) eyes widened at the sight of the syringe. You didn't know what Matt was planning to do with it, but you knew it couldn't be good. You shook your head vigorously as if it helped you escape the situation some how.

You panicked as Matt came closer to you.

♫ I want to hide the truth. I want to shelter you, but with the beast inside, there's no where we can hide. ♫

"LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!" Natsu shouted, ready to storm the place.

"Natsu, wait a second!" Lucy grabbed the male's scarf, pulling him backwards. "We can't just barge in. We have no idea what we're getting ourselves into."

"Lucy's right." Erza agreed, "we need a plan."

"We pound the guy's face in!" Natsu retorted, "That's the only plan I need!"

"You idiot!" Erza scolded, "What if he's using (Y/N) as a hostage?"

"Keep in mind that Matt won't hurt (Y/N)." Terrell spoke up. "He never could."

"So, we don't have to worry about (Y/N)'s safety." Bickslow concluded.

"But we still need to get her out of that psychopath's clutches." Laxus replied.

"I say we storm the place." Natsu suggested, ignoring the overall conversation.

"That won't be necessary."

The group was surprised to be greeted by their enemy himself: Matthew Kirkland.

"So you're the jerk who's got issues with (Y/N) joining Fairy Tail!" Natsu stated, his fists ablaze.  "Well, we're taking her back with us! Sorry, buddy!"

"I'm afraid that won't be happening, fairies."

The Fairy Tail wizards silently wondered what Matt was referring to but before anyone could verbally say it, you appeared before their eyes.

You casually walked up to the group and stood next to Matt.

"(Y/N)!" Natsu called, happy to see you. The other guild members were relieved as well -- especially Laxus.

However, something was off.

"You see, (Y/N) has decided to stay here with me." Matt claimed.

"Like heck she would!" Natsu argued.

"Why are you having trouble understanding?" Matt continued, "I mean, I never held her back from her passion."

"Killing people wasn't (Y/N)'s passion." Lucy replied boldly, "She was misguided."

"And who are you to tell her what her passions are?" Matt raised an eyebrow at the Celestial Spirit Wizard. "Do you have any idea how her eyes lit up when she watched the life leave her target? She truly enjoyed it until you forced your philosophy and ideals onto her."

"Philosophy?" Natsu tilted his head to the side, confused. "What's a philosophy?"

"Seriously? That's what you wanna ask at a time like this?" Gray groaned, rolling his eyes.

"Shut it, Stripper!"

"What did you call me?"

"ENOUGH!" Erza snapped, silencing the two bickering wizards. She then focused her attention on Matt. "You say we forced our ideals onto (Y/N), but she joined the guild willingly."

"Honestly, I wouldn't have joined if none of you had gotten in my way."

The team was so focused on talking with Matt, that they nearly forgot about you. Thus, they were surprised to hear you speak up.

"I joined out of guilt," You confessed, "but the truth is, deep down, I miss my old life."

"(Y/N). . ." Laxus gasped your name, completely surprised and speechless at your confession. So was everything fake? Did you not really care for him or the guild members? Was everything purely out of guilt and pity so that you could feel better about yourself?

"That can't be true, (Y/N)!" Evergreen declared, "You started dating Laxus and now you're engaged. You wouldn't have done so if you didn't really care."

"Well, I completely damaged all of the nerves in his hand, so I thought the least I could do is to keep him happy." You replied, "And he so happened to fall in love with me, so I kept him happy because I felt obligated to."

"THAT'S A LIE!" Freed shouted, drawing his sword. "(Y/N) would never say such hurtful things about her relationship with Laxus! Who is this imposter?"

"I can assure you that this is (Y/N)." Matt smirked at the Fairy Tail wizards who were glaring at him. "This is the real, true (Y/N). You're the ones in denial."

"I don't think so!" Natsu declared, "And I'm tired of hearing you run your mouth and talking with those fancy, big words!" The dragon slayer charged forward, toward Matt. "Time to shut you up! Fire Dragon's Iron Fi-"

S-So fast!

It all happened so fast -- in the blink of an eye.

"NATSU!" Lucy and Happy shouted in unison while everyone else looked on with their eyes wide and their jaws dropped.

Standing in front of Matt, intercepting him and Natsu as well as protecting the assassin, was you. You stood still at an angle -- the right side of your body was closest to the guild wizards. Your right arm raised, having flung Natsu backwards.

But that in itself was not surprising.

No, it was the fact that your right arm was that of a wolf, and you possessed wolf eyes as well. Eyes that were ready to hunt down and kill prey.

You have never, not once, used your magic around or in front of Fairy Tail. You never needed to because you were strong enough without it.

"Wha-What is that?" Erza asked to no one in particular.

"That's (Y/N)'s magic." Terrell, the only Fairy Tail member of this team who wasn't in shock, stated. "It's very similar to Take-Over Magic, but more. . . realistic."

"Realistic?" Lucy asked, visibly shaking. "W-What exactly does that mean?"

"Instead of parts of her body being transformed into an animal, she becomes the animal itself -- gaining all attributes of that animal permanently. Any animal she comes into contact with, she can become one. Since she spends most of her time with me, she mainly uses the wolf." Terrell explained, "Think of her as a werewolf -- right now she has only done a partial transformation, like a Take-Over, but if she were to fully transform, Natsu would've been eaten alive."

The said dragon slayer floped onto the ground -- his vest torn to shreds and his chest with deep scratch wounds, which were bleeding profusely.

The wounded wizard began coughing up blood as he attempted to breathe.

"H-Hold on Natsu!" Wendy stuttered, still in shock as she kneeled down next to her fellow dragon slayer and began using her healing magic.

"What have you done to (Y/N)?" Terrell spoke up, his question directed to Matt.

"I didn't do anything harmful." Matt replied, "I just brought her true self to the surface."

"This isn't the true (Y/N)." Laxus stated, glaring at the enemy.

"Tch, how would you know her true self? You do realize that she's been containing her true self because of you people. You aren't letting her be herself; rather, she pretending to be someone she's not so she can be accepted."

"I can speak for myself, you know." You finally spoke up, wearing a neutral and emotionless expression on your face. "But Matt's right. I have been suppressing my desires in order to fit in at Fairy Tail."

You stare intently at Laxus, watching his facial expression and how the emotion in his eyes change with every word you speak.

"I was telling the truth when I said that I loved and missed my previous work." You confessed, "Being an assassin was a thrill, and I enjoyed it."

"(Y/N), you're being controlled!" Evergreen declared, desperate to deny what you were saying. "You have to snap out of it!"

"I promise you I'm not being controlled." You said. "These are my true feelings."

"Is that so?" Laxus mumbled, now avoiding eye contact with you. After a brief silence, with him gathering his thoughts, his facial expression turned to anger as he glared at you. Although, the emotion in his eyes was sadness. "Then were you also telling the truth when you said you were with me because you were obligated? Was everything until now a lie?"

You stayed silent, opting to simply stare at him with giving any indication of what you were thinking or what emotions you were feeling.

"ANSWER ME!" Laxus shouted.

You smirked, knowing your silence was irritating him. You were breaking the great Laxus Dreyar and the power you had over him felt amazing.

"You said it, not me." You smirked.

"What exactly are you saying?" Laxus growled, trying to keep his emotions check but he was failing.

"Interpret it how you want."

"So, what now, (Y/N)?" Erza stepped forward, having gotten over the shock of your sudden change in personality. "Are you leaving Fairy Tail? Will you become an assassin again?"

"Yes and yes." You answered, you turned your arm back into your human arm and channelled some magic power to your hand. As a result, your hand glowed (f/c)*. With your own magic power, you erased the Fairy Tail guild mark that resided on your body.

Your action made the guildmembers gasp. They were truly surprised at your willingness to turn against them so easily.

They were hurt. Especially Laxus.
