CHP 1┃wrong door

CHAPTER 1
ᴡʀᴏɴɢ ᴅᴏᴏʀ, ɢᴏʀɢᴇᴏᴜs

"Honestly, I don't think I'll ever get used to how fast humans evolve. Last time I was in the human realm they still had telephones! What the hells this small box?" Felix said to himself, the latest Iphone in his hands.

It had only been a few hours since being in the human realm, an already Felix was highly confused. Afterall, he had left swearing to never come back to the human realm after what he had witnessed take place around the early 19 hundreds.

Concluding that- humans were terrifying and vile creatures to be around who didn't even seem to like eachother.

Yet here he was, in a small apartment in a nice flat in Seoul. Tall buildings built from glass and stone, towering over clean roads and colourful streets. A diverse set of humans walking up and down, all wearing different clothes, different coloured hair and skin.

It was all, a little alarming if the demons are honest. It was a culture shock to say the least.

The underworld wasn't what the humans designed it to be. No rivers of blood or hell fire and torture. Simply creatures which didn't belong in heaven or earth, found refuge in the underworld.

Well assuming heaven even exists- afterall, not even demons have seen god to know if there's a heaven. Satan however- a horrible creature with absolutely no table manners and loves to start demon wars.

His human card started to burn in his jean pocket as he fiddled with his 'mobile phone' (humans liked to wear ripped clothing apparently?). Throwing the phone to the nearby sofa, he took out the card and held it in the palm of his hand.

The once plain empty card now had the name 'HWANG HYUNJIN' in bolded letters, a picture of the man staring at him. There was a small box below the picture, currently at 0%.

From the introduction manual he had received prior to moving to the human realm, it stated that the more happier you make your human, the higher their positivity number increases.

For some reason, looking at the extremely low number made the demon feel bad. He didn't like the thought of his human waking up everyday feeling lost and unhappy.

So he was going to make sure, that his human will feel the happiest they ever have- no matter how many lifetimes it takes.

And then he'd eat his soul, everyone wins!

Now that the card was burning, it meant Felix had a few moments before he would meet his human. A strange fluttering feeling awoke in his chest, excited to meet him. The introduction manual also stated you wouldn't have any idea how you would meet them, or how you'll stay in contact with them- So Felix had to work that out all on his own.

A knock on the door silenced his thoughts, and his smile was growing dangerously, "can't be that hard." He muttered to himself as he slowly walked towards the door.

The knocking grew more and more aggressive, startling Felix. He nearly tripped over his cat (humans liked to keep devilish animals as pets as well apparently?) when a loud voice shouted from the other side of the door.

"JISUNG! OPEN UP! YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT MR.PARK HAS DONE AND I CAN'T EVEN-" the voice shouted and Felix found himself chuckling at the strange turn of events.

So the human ends up meeting him by knocking on the wrong door? Very creative fate.

He stood infront of the door for a few more seconds before unlocking it, the knocking nor shouting subsiding.

"COME ON JISUNG I HAVE NO TIME FOR- and you're not Jisung." The human stated confusedly, his face stunned.

Felix couldn't help but smirk, looking his human up and down. He wore ripped clothing (again, why?) on his legs and a plain black sweater on top. His face, lord satan his face, was even more gorgeous in person, how did he manage to get so lucky?

He had to contain himself from laughing at the memory of Minho receiving a 6 year old orphan to make happy, while he got a gorgeous and adult man. But maybe it would work out, Minho had always said he wanted children. But human children? A complete different story.

"Sorry babe, I'm not your Jisung," he finally said, appreciating the blush on the others face a little too much, "wrong door?"

Hyunjin moved back to see the number on the side of the door frame, his blush growing up his neck, making Felix keep his teeth in a lot harder.

"Oh...I was sure this was number 665..." he said quietly.

Felix stepped forward, directly infront of his human, and pointed to the house on his left, "that's your house gorgeous, I'm 666."

Again, highly ironic and a little comical if the demon was honest. 666? Absolutely halarious.

Hyunjin stepped back again, flustered and Felix couldnt practically taste his embarrassment in the air.

"Right uh- thanks..."

"Felix. Lee Felix. Just moved in." The demon said, stretching out his hand (something humans did when they met eachother apparently). His hand tingled and burned when Hyunjin grabbed it and shook it softly.

"I'm Hyunjin, don't live here- but I'm often next door. Welcome."

Their hands lingered longer than what was probably socially acceptable, but the warmth that spread across Hyunjin's chest made him feel comfortable and content. It was strange, all of a sudden he felt so much happier than he had a few seconds ago.

Mr.Park, the CEO of Hyunjin's modelling company, had opened a new exchange programme for models from other countries and made Hyunjin a mentor- but the problem being Hyunjin couldn't speak more than basic English. So not only was he uncomfortable but also really hesitant to even meet new people and talk with them every single day for the next 6 months.

"Oh, I hope everything works out for you Hyunjin."

The humans eyes snapped back to the man before him, his eyes wide. Had he just ranted all of that out loud?

"Yes you did," Felix said, finally letting go of Hyunjins hand, feeling bad for manipulating him this much already, "It's alright, your secrets safe with me...and that Jisung dude next door."

Everyone knew, a demon could make you say your deepest darkest secrets with just the lightest touch of their fingertips.

Hyunjin quickly came back to reality, feeling a little light headed, "oh right yes. I'll see you around, Felix." He quickly let out before shuffling to the door next door.

Felix smiled, eyes flashing red as they followed the man, "I'm sure you will, Hwang Hyunjin."
