Chapter Six

"Damian!"

"Little D!"

"Babybat!"

"What the hell you little piece of shit!"

It didn't take a genius to figure out that the last one came from Jason.

Without warning, Damian was pulled out of the doorway- one that was brimming with confused titans and a smirking Dick. Bruce Wayne watched with aged eyes at the brawl before him...'brawl' meaning Jason pulling the new robin in to a choke hold and Damian effectively (by some strange means) kicking Tim in the face. Resulting in both Tim and Stephanie attacking Damian. Cassie being Cassie, she wanted in on the action, so leapt in, returning blows and kicking people in the face. Naturally, as Dick tried to separate Jason and Tim -who were rolling on the ground, punching each other- he got knocked square in the jaw by Damian.

And Babs just cheered from the side-lines whilst Bruce stared apologetically at Adyn and the titans.

Cue a few minutes of utter confusion for some; black eyes and bruises for the others.

Until Alfred entered the room...

Raising an eyebrow at the batkids, the butler reduced them to bashful children- apart from Damian, who's shame was slightly less, but only slightly. Alfred turned to address the Teen titans, bowing at the waist.

"If you would like to step inside please,", he subtly ordered.

Gingerly, they entered the living room, Kori in the lead.

Walking in to the room, Raven sensed a tainted aura issuing off of the man with a white hair streak.

Jason Todd.

Not an unfamiliar name in the demonic world, she noted.

Of course, she and Jaime recognised Tim, seeing as they were working with him just a few years back. Though the others were slightly familiar looking, Raven couldn't exactly put names to faces, so to speak. Neither could Jon, Jaime or Donna, all of whose expressions reflected the intimidation they felt. Adyn, on the other hand, was all but hiding behind his fellow demon (something that Jason, the resident rebel, couldn't help but notice, attempting to stifle a chuckle).

Order restored, Bruce decided to speak, clearing his throat awkwardly, "So, as I am sure you are aware, due to circumstances and until further notice, the titans will be staying here, now I trust that-"

Tim's voice cut through his adopted father's.

"Hold on...where's Gar?"

Silence ensued from his words with no one wishing to confirm the regretful news.

Till Raven finally stated,"He left.", Leaving no room for discussion.

...

Crickets could almost be heard.

Shattering the increasingly depressing mood, as if a switch had went off inside his head, Damian urged, "Father, there is much to be discussed about the prior occurrences."

Adyn stepped slightly out of his refuge to nod a tad too enthusiastically whilst the other titans added some form of agreement.

"What prior-", Babs began, before being interposed by Bruce.

He asserted, "I have scheduled a meeting at the Hall of Justice in a few hours, there will be time. However, I believe it is best for you all to get acquainted first. As I have business to attend to, I'm afraid I can't stay. Just,", he turned to his adopted family, giving his signature 'Bat glare', "behave."

With that, he exited the living room, Alfred behind him. Both were praying like the ascension of hell was upon them.

***Two***Hours***Later***

"So...wait, wait...there is a batcow?!", Jon exclaimed, sitting fully upright.

Tim chuckled, "Oh yeah. Damian's to blame for that- like most of the other animals in this place."

The boy in question turned to death-glare Drake, only for the RedRobin to stick out his tongue in response.

From his seat on the lay-z-boy, Damian huffed.

"Children."

Raven surveyed the scene with a small smile on her face. Sandwiched between Adyn and Donna -the former aweing over modern technology with Kori; the latter not-so-subtly staring at Jon- the half-demon observed as the woman in the wheelchair, who she now knew was Barbara, discussed with the others about modern music.

"Dick, no one likes ABBA!", Stephanie groaned as he launched in to the chorus of 'Dancing Queen'.

More complains broke out as he persisted in his poor re-enactment of 'Lay All Your Love On Me' . In pure agony, Jason took one of the pillows on the sofa he was sitting on, placed it on his lap, and slammed his head on to it repeatedly.

"Why cruel world, why?!", he howled, much to Damian's amusement.

Once the ballad was over, everyone was practically in tears: Jaime, Donna, Tim, Kori and Adyn from laughing; the rest from despair. Having ended, Dick made a frivolously exaggerated bow, only to be pelted by numerous cushions- forcing him in to ducking behind the plush loveseat, screaming bloody murder. Giggling to an unhealthy level, Donna fell from her seat, convulsing inaudibly with laughter.

Attempting to sit back up, the Wondergirl pulled Raven to the smooth floor, staring at her in shock before erupting back in to chortles. It took a moment, but eventually, Raven responded with light chuckles of her own, allowing the burdens to slip off her back. And for once, they didn't immediately return. In the heat of the moment, Raven felt truly young. Vulnerable in a positive yet queer way.

Her eyes, creased as they were, met Damian's. They shared in the light-hearted moment, a bond of understanding created at the thought that life wouldn't always be like this, but they (who so often shut themselves behind mental walls) could enjoy the rare times it was. Scars might not heal, but wounds would. That acceptance conveyed in mere milliseconds strengthened their ties by the tons.

They looked away though, they always had to look away.

After the mirth had dispensed, Dick posed the question, "Seriously though, what type of music are you all in to? Since we've established that you have an issue with great art."

"Indeed,", Koriand'r agreed, "I too am curious. Why don't we all share our views."

Having no issue with that, the others agreed. Donna, the over-zealous girl that she was, volunteered to go first.

"Well, I like pretty much whatever's hot right now.", she explained. "Mainly pop but sometimes rap or R&B"

"Same."

"Pretty much."

Steph and Cassie agreed.

"Yeah, I don't mind other types of music but pop is most of what I listen too.", Jaime added.

Damian shook his head. Pop music was so meaningless.

"I don't understand how you listen to that.", he remarked, surprising many around him.

Feeling rather bolder than usual, Damian persisted, "The rhythm of every song is nearly identical and all of them centre around drugs, money, sex and the like. For the most part, the songs are entirely meaningless and any deeper lyrics are lost on the listener due to vocal effects and disproportionate backing beats."

By the end of his tirade, may eyebrows were raised heavenwards. Raven just shared a look with Jon, as if to say, 'What are we going to do with this one? '. Safe to say, Damian found their reactions highly amusing.

"Savage.", Donna whistled jokingly.

And Adyn just sat there...attempting to understand and failing horribly.

"So, what do you like? Mr Fussy-pants.", Steph posed, standing with a hand on her hip.

If he were a nicer person, Damian would have resisted the urge to roll his eyes...he was not. Having lived with him for a few years respectively, the titans and 'batkids' were used to it, though Robin could envision Alfred tutting as he revoked Damian of his cookie rights. 'Curse Pennyworth and his delectable cookies! ', he swore internally. The memory of those faultless symphonies of batter and chocolate chips brought water to the son of Batman's mouth.

Clearing his thoughts, Damian replied, "I am not obliged to share that."

"Stop being a killjoy Damian!", Donna nagged, undeterred, not realising what she had started.

"THE FUTURE IS BULLETPROOF-"

"THE AFTERMATH IS SECONDARY-"

"IT'S TIME TO DO IT NOW AND DO IT LOUD-"

"KILLJOYS MAKE SOME NOISE!"

Jon, Jason, Damian and (shockingly) Raven burst out giggling like mad. If the others had their eyebrows raised before, they were falling out of their seats now- Tim nearly caught on fire as he fell by the fireplace. From his periphery, Jon could even see Dick asking Kori to check his temperature, none of them cared though, they were merely sharing in the bliss that accompanied being united by music, though Jon was still scared shitless of Jason.

To the disgruntled faces of those in the room, the quartet just shrugged, sassing in unison, "It's MCR."

***The***Hall***Of***Justice***

"Batman, you called a meeting."

"Yes-", The masked vigilante responded, only to be cut of my Wonderwoman.

"Does this have anything to do with the Tower?", she asked, her accent still present after all those years.

He nodded.

The Justice League watched as the Teen Titans entered through the dramatically aesthetic doors followed by...a mob?

No, just Tim, Jason, Steph and Cassie.

Bruce was on the verge of injecting himself with Bane's nerve toxin. Why did they have to all come (apart from Babs- but that was different)? Did they not know how much his reputation mattered, especially in the league. Bruce thought he had learned his lesson the first time he left Dick in charge of the kids but nooooooo he had to leave them with Dick again only for another catastrophe!

'I need to retire.' , Bruce thought, dragging a hand down his face in sheer anguish.

"Uh, Bruce...", Hal (Green Lantern) tapped him on the shoulder, "How many kids do you have...exactly?"

The Leaguers stared at Batman expectantly, which he just ignored, opting to bat-glare Damian in to releasing Tim from his choke-hold.

'I really, really need to retire.'

Meanwhile, Raven was on the verge of pulling her hair out, and that meant a lot because her hair was one of the few things she didn't mind about her appearance. Tim, the short- yet highly intelligent- Red Robin had made some patronising comment which Damian had responded to with a harsh look at first...then violence three seconds later. Still, it was an improvement, she recognised.

Unable to stand the noise, and the studious looks Adyn and her were receiving from the Justice League, Raven decided to put and end to the havoc. An urgency in understanding the reasoning behind Adyn's appearance overcame her normal tendency to shy away from the attention of others.

Mustering a slight thread of energy, she encouraged it with her fingertips, expanding the magical power and forcing it between the boys. Gently, the pulled them apart, pushing Tim back to the Batkids and Damian to the Titans.

All eyes focused on her, Raven attempted to speak in a more confident tone than usual- and ended up surprising herself at the success of it, "I'm sorry, but there is a lot we need to discuss. Please save it for later.

The underlying threat in her voice didn't go unmissed.

Lips slightly upturned, Raven turned to the JLA, indicating for someone to continue speaking (if only to cut the tense atmosphere).

"Right,", Superman picked up, "Well, would you mind telling us what we have been called here for Bruce?"

Batman glanced at Clarke before fixating a look on Adyn, "I'm not the right person to explain to you. He, on the other hand, is."

Like a deer frozen in head-lights, the demon's eyes flickered to Raven's, receiving a mall smile of reassurance.

"I...well first off, it is important I introduce myself.", he paused, gathering his thoughts, "My name is Adyn, Second General in the Djinni army, Prince of Hell and the Deadly Sin ,wrath. Oh, and I'm Raven's half brother."

Well damn.

A.N

Hello again my darlings!

I updated a day early because I had time so yeah. It has been too long since I last wrote but I hope you enjoyed this seriously long chapter, it amounted to just under 2000 words- my longest yet. So please be thankful and leave nice comments because darlings, you lift my slightly depressed an very angst-y soul. Thank you so, so, so much for the reads because...500+ views. WHAT!!! You're gonna make me blush. Seriously, I love you.

And incase you are wondering ADYN IS IN HIS MID/LATE TWENTIES though he does act fairly childish. And btw, I hope I didn't overload the Batfamily but, if you check them out, the Batkids really are that crazy.

Anyway, bye!
