Third Person POV:

"The Academy. In the past, this institute was the Hidden Leaf's training center for shinobi. Hopefuls underwent rigorous training here."

"However, the peace and stability of our modern world have brought about big changes. Today, a general studies curriculum is offered alongside the ninjutsu program. The Academy's become a scholastic facility where the next generation can explore many fields of study.

"Alright! This is  gonna be the place where I make my mark on the world!" Y/n, Boruto, Denki, and Shikadai are heading to the Academy as Boruto returns from his two-week suspension.

"Are you an idiot?" Shikadai turns to Boruto, "You just got done with the two-week suspension the Academy gave you, remember?!"

Y/n also looks at Boruto as he frowns a bit. "Everyone has been gossiping about you. So maybe you should keep a low profile."

"Listen..." Boruto walks to Y/n as he put his hands on Y/n's shoulder. "What's done is done. I can't go worrying about all that."

"Looks like he's gonna learn the hard way," Y/n commented as they catch up to Boruto. "Hey, wait up!"

They went into their classroom as Boruto turns to everyone. "Good morning, everybody! My name's Boruto Uzumaki ya know! It's nice to meet all of you!"

"...Didn't I say to-?" Y/n tilted his head as Shikadai shook his head. "Hey, Y/n. Which one is my desk?" Boruto asks.

"You can pretty much sit anywhere." Y/n answers. "Oh, so that's how it works!" Boruto smiles as they walk to a spot.

"Hey, you guys. How's it going?" Boruto greeted some of the classmates as they started to whisper at one another.

They sat down as Y/n was between Shikadai and Boruto as Denki was closer to the end of the row. "This is so much better than being stuck at home with my mom." Boruto sighs as Y/n chuckles.

"That was entertaining." Y/n chuckles as Denki was confused. "What? Your mom?"

"She forced Boruto to study non-stop over the last two weeks," Y/n explains as Boruto sighs. "But what more is that she wouldn't let me hang out with you as you were playing with Himawari."

"How come he wasn't punished after what he did?" Denki and Y/n can hear a group of boys talking in the upper corner of the class.

"I mean, he kinda was..." One of the boys scratches his head. "But that wasn't just some silly prank." The second kid interjects, "If that train car had landed in town, it has been a disaster."

"You saying that there's a cover-up?" The third kid guessed. "Shh! He can hear you." The first kid hushed.

'...They're too weak for me to think about it.' Y/n turn to see Boruto putting his head up. "Oh! Uhh..." Denki tries to figure out what to say as Shikadai was unbothered by it, "Ignore them."

"Don't worry, I am." Boruto smiles, "They can say whatever they want about me, I don't care!"

"Well, okay then..." Shikadai shrugs his shoulder. "Look at that!" Boruto gasps, "Forgot my textbook!"

"Boruto..." Y/n raised an eyebrow. "It's your first day!"

"Hey! Share your book with me, Y/n." Boruto suggested. Y/n giggles as he got close to Boruto.

Boruto and some students watching were caught off by the closeness of the two. Boruto was even blushing a little.

"In your dreams." Y/n answers as he pulls away. Boruto was blinking before pouting, "Oh c'mon now, don't be like that!"

"Boruto sure stands out in a crowd." A young girl commented. She has purple-colored eyes along with long purple-colored two-layered hair, one part of it till her chin and the other part is tied into two long braided ponytails. Her hair frames her face and her bangs hang just above her eyes. 

She dons a black polo neck shirt, with a violet dress over it that has a white collar on it, knotted by a purple ribbon, almost resembling a seifuku overall with long black shinobi sandals.

"Hm?" Another girl questioned. The other girl is a dark-skinned girl with amber-colored eyes and a noticeably heftier physique. 

She inherited brown hair, which she styles in two spiky ponytails, kept back with a pink hairband. The rest of her hair is left hanging down behind her back, with her bangs hanging over her left eye.

"But aren't people only paying attention to him because of that ridiculous stunt that he pulled?" The dark skin girl questioned.

"You know him right?" She turns to the third girl. "Don't you guys go way back, Sarada?"

The third girl Sarada has onyx eyes and hair, which she keeps shoulder-length, parts to the right, and tucks behind her ear. Sarada inherited the wide, cat-like eye shape, eyelashes, and face shape. She wears a pair of red glasses, which are a gift from Karin.

Sarada wears a vermilion jacket, under which is a cream-colored vest, under which is a high-collared white shirt with a red tie. She also wears a red skirt and black open-toed boots.

"Not really." Sarada answers, "Our parents are friends that's all."

"So, you're saying you're childhood friends." The dark skin girl concluded.

"No, I'd hardly say that's what we are." Sarada frowns. "I find it annoying even being associated with him."

"Yeah me too..." The dark skin girl stretches. "Although that dad of his is seriously cool."

"Lord Naruto, the Hokage." The purple hair girl smiles.

"Yeah! Difficult experiences in life polish and refine a man!" The dark skin girl stated.

Suddenly someone walks downstairs as they sigh. "...Riding on the Hokage's coattails..."

"Ahh!" The purple hair girl was panicking. "Hey, watch what you're saying Inojin!"

Inojin has light blue eyes and flaxen blond shoulder-length hair which he keeps in a small ponytail allowing the rest to fall about his face. He inherited pale white skin color and his attire consisted of a violet sweater and white overalls, with a brown strap to hold his tantō and regular shinobi sandals.

"Uh oh..." Inojin realizes it as his eyes widen. "Oops, did I accidentally say out loud just now?"

"Hey Inojin, that's a bit harsh." Shikadai scolded. "Oh sorry!" Inojin chuckles, "If I offended, I take it back."

Inojin walks down as he was looking at Boruto. "Although you know that I'm only saying what everybody else here is thinking. If any other kid caused a train to jump the tracks, chances are they'd get thrown to jail."

"But that's...!" Denki was about to say something until Boruto his hand on Denki's shoulder while shaking his head.

"Inojin, listen...you know that isn't really what happened," Shikadai stated. 

"I guess so." Inojin smiles, "Anyway, Y/n, how long's it been?"

"I would say a few months, but it felt so long." Y/n answers. "What about you? Still helping at the shop?"

"Are you two friends?" Denki questioned. Y/n nodded, "Boruto, Inojin, Shikadai, all of their parents are good friends."

"I don't understand you, Inojin..." Shikadai looked confused, "I know you've been like this for a long time, but why do you always shoot your mouth off?"

"I'm not trying to cause trouble or anything." Inojin answers.

"If he's telling the truth that makes him look even worse!" The dark skin girl commented. "Yeah..." The purple hair girl agreed.

"Anway, who our parents are doesn't matter." Boruto sticks his hands out. "We're friends right?"

Inojin smiles as he reaches out but slaps Boruto's hand away. "I just don't think you're worthy of my trust. Or better yet worthy to be having Y/n's trust."

Boruto gasp. "Excuse me!" The purple hair girl quickly stood, "We're going to be studying together, so I believe that all of us should just try to get along!"

"Spoken like a true Class Rep!" The dark skin girl praised.

The door opens as it shows a male with dark, bushy, brown hair and dark, narrow eyes. In all, he wears a flak jacket with two bug-like emblems on the neck, and a full-body suit underneath. He also wears a three-strip optic visor that wraps around his head.

"Everybody stand." Everyone stood up as Inojin went back to his seat. He glance at Y/n as he smiles as Y/n just stare at him until he was no longer at his visual.

Time Skip Jutsu

Boruto was doing some exercise as the class sensei Shino was writing the results down. "Okay, Boruto. That's good."

"We're all done. We've now measured everyone's basic skill level." Shino turns to the class. "Next time, we'll begin actual practice using the data we've gathered."

"Right!" The class responded.

"Wow, Boruto! That was terrific!" Denki smiles as he opens his laptop. "You had the second-best time in the whole class!"

"Wait, what?!" Boruto's eyes widen as he looks at the screen. "You mean that I'm not on top?!"

They look at the screen as it shows two people being at the top. Y/n Shabana and Iwabee Yuino.

"All right, who's this Iwabee that beat my time?" Boruto looks around. "He's not here today." They turn to see Y/n walking to them. "He mentions something about being not worthy of his time to hang around with amateurs like us."

"Really...?" Boruto questioned. Y/n looks at the screen as he smiles, "Congrats on getting a high score!"

"Thanks," Boruto smiles before he remembers the names that were above him. "Hey wait a minute! How did you-!"

The bells ring as it was now time for lunch. They went into the classroom as Boruto smiles, "Oh man, I'm starving!"

He notices a group of guys as Denki recognizes them. "Oh! What's up you guys? Goin' to lunch? You want some company?"

"Sorry! We're just going up to the rooftop." One kid quickly answers. "You know you ought to get going now, too." The second kid stated. "Yeah, see ya!" The third quickly stated as they ran out of the classroom.

"What the heck is their problem?" Boruto questioned, "Eh, whatever! Let's just go get something to eat--"

"Get outta here."

The four of them gasps as they look around. "You're bothering me. Can't you see I'm using this room?"

The voice was from a male as he is noticeably taller than his classmates. He is leanly inbuilt with a tanned complexion, stern onyx-colored eyes, and straight, black hair. He wears a red cap covering his ears and secured by a blue string that holds up all his hair excluding a single bang that hangs between his eyes. He also wears a white sleeveless shirt and bandages on his wrists, along with a dull green long flowing vest, baggy pants, black sandals.

"Who's he?" Boruto asks. "That's Iwabee Yuino." Y/n smiles.

"'Iwabee the Repeater'. They say that he failed the graduation exams twice." Shikadai explains.

"Heh!" Boruto smiles. "So an upperclassman huh? Cool! Nice to meetcha!"

"I don't want to be your little friend." Iwabee quickly turn. "Hokage's boy."

"Hey watch it what does it matter whose son I am?" Boruto frowns as he was getting annoyed.

Iwabee jumps up as he is now in front of Boruto. "I just don't like the idea of having a guy like you hanging around me all the time." He grabbed Boruto's collar, "...You got that?"

Kids were now coming as they gasps as they see what was happening.

"You think you're special? Go hide in your father's shadow." Iwabee stated.

"Hey, you take that back!" Boruto was about to fight until Iwabee tossed Boruto. Y/n was quick, as he caught Boruto.

"Seriously, that's it? You aren't even worth my time..." Iwabee stated. "Boruto...!" Denki quickly rushes to Boruto.

"You dirty little..." Shikadai was about to move until Iwabee pulls out his pole. "If you have a problem with me, bring it on!"

"Okay." Everyone turned as Y/n was now in front of Iwabee. "Where and when?"

"Y/n you can't be serious?!" Y/n tilted his head as he didn't let go of looking at Iwabee. "Oh but I am. Plus I think we should see who should be on top since we're tied."

"So you're the Y/n kid I've been hearing." Iwabee raised an eyebrow as he takes a look at him. "The kid who is seen with now parents shows up on a village out of the blue, and is easily accepted."

"Oh look at this~," Y/n cooed. "Flunk boy has been doing some research."

"Listen to me! Strength is the only thing that matters for a ninja!" Iwabee stated. "What's the use of doing nothing but simply studying obediently like all of you?"

A vein appeared on Y/n's forehead. 'Obedient.'

"The current Hokage was the strongest in all of history. As long as your strong, a ninja can get away with anything!" Y/n's eyes widen at Iwabee's statement.

'Neesan...Akaza...' Y/n could see two shadows from behind Iwabee as another shadow was coming as Y/n almost gritted his teeth.

"But Iwabee, even Lord Seventh made it his goal to use ninjutsu in peaceful ways," Denki explains. "That's why I also-"

"Shut up!" Iwabee yelled as Denki close his eyes, "Weaklings don't get to talk."

"Ten years ago, our people were fighting in a war! When Lord Hokage was a ninja on the front lines, it wasn't like this at all. But then, this place went soft and turned into a school for wimps-!" More veins were popping out of Y/n's head as he was seeing a pair of glowing red-eyed.

"You don't know? Haha haha! You stupid brat, he sent you here to die! You're weak!"

Y/n had enough as he grabbed Iwabee's arm. He lifted him as he slammed him on the ground.

Everyone gasps as Iwabee groan in pain. He opens his eyes but sees a face covered in shadow, the only thing visible his red eyes glaring at him.

Y/n grabbed Iwabee by his shirt as he forcibly pull him up only to toss him out of the door. The students ran away as Iwabee went to the wall of the hallway.

Iwabee's eyes widen. "Wh-What?" Y/n walks closer to Iwabee. "..."

He grabbed Iwabee's mouth as he drags him as everyone follows. Some stood frozen as they try to process what they had just witnessed.

Scene Change Jutsu:

Y/n tossed Iwabee, "Get up and fight."

They were at the Academy's battleground as the class was getting excited. "What do we do?" The purple hair girl groan. "What about class?!"

"Eh, so what?" The dark skin girl stated as she eats a bag of chips. "We can just blame the guys who are fighting."

"I wonder what made Y/n so angry?" Sarada wondered.

Excited chatter was going on but so was concerned. Some people were excited about the match as they know that the two of them are at the top. So they wanted to know who deserves to be at the top.

However, the other was concerned. They never experienced Y/n being so angry. When they say Y/n dark glare at Iwabee, it made them feel like they were about to face a demon.

"Ninjutsu match, and we'll be using the Academy's rules!" Y/n stated.

"This is..." Boruto looks down. "No it isn't!" Boruto to see Denki and Shikadai.

"He's right Boruto." Shikadai agreed. "He brought this all upon himself by challenging him."

"Do you think Y/n will get suspended?" Denki asks. "I don't know, at this point...!" The kids gasped as they started to fight.

Y/n was now in front as he throws some punches. Iwabee was going for an ax kick as Y/n caught it. He hooks the leg as he pulls Iwabee for a leg hook Supplex

Iwabee caught it as he throw some shurikens as Y/n quickly dodges them. He felt a chill as he see Y/n was behind him, 'He's fast!'

Y/n goes for a punch, but Iwabee is caught. Y/n tries to go for an aerial kick, but Iwabee blocks it as he smirks, "Well that's not gonna work...little cutie."

He tossed Y/n as he crashes into a stone pillar. He coughs a bit as he was confused by the nickname.

Sarada's hands started to twitch. "I thought you weren't interested in this?" The dark skin girl questioned.

"I never said that!" Sarada quickly answers. "Maybe, but I gotta say this is more troubling to watch. Both of them might end up in serious injuries if they go like this." The girl stated with concern.

Y/n was running as they were going through some pillars. "Clever." Iwabee smirks.

Y/n went for an attack as Iwabee kicks him. Smoke came as Y/n was turned into a log.

Iwabee was shocked as Y/n was above him. He was getting on his back as he put Iwabee in a chock hold. Smoke came as Iwabee was also turned into a log.

"A substitution?!" Shikadai's eyes widen as everyone else was getting excited.

"Do you think I'm that fucking dumb? I know you're using a disguise Jutsu." Y/n irritated looked over to a pillar where Iwabee made his appearance.

"So, you can see through things like that! You're making me think you're more than just a pretty face." Iwabee stated as he throws a smoke bomb.

"That guy's used to combat," Shikadai stated. "The data says he was the top student in ninjutsu last year, too." Denki researched, "Although it seems his grades in the other courses were dismal."

"Man, this guy is a serious drag," Shikadai complains. "The Academy should've just let him graduate already!"

Y/n was looking around as he spotted Iwabee. He notices that he was just standing there as it made him smirk and turn into a smile. "Perfect."

Y/n put his fingers together as he made clones. One of the clones went into the smoke but it was covering them as they could hear the clone grunting before they disappeared.

"Now let's do it!" The rest of them rush to Iwabee as they do a zig-zag motion. Two of the clones went in motion as they were creating some distance before going to Iwabee.

"Hey, is it me or is something off about this?" Boruto asks. "What are you talking about?" Shikadai question. 

"It's just, Y/n has been doing some moves as he would start to create a distance to sprinting towards Iwabee," Boruto explains.

They all look and see that Boruto was right. "Hmm? Perhaps he is coming up with a strategy." Inojin guessed.

The smoke clears as the two clones disappear. "It's too easy! Reached your limit already?" Iwabee asks.

Y/n was breathing a bit as he stands up. "Do you ever shut up? I'm not gonna give in to someone who thinks strength is everything."

"But that's just what you'll do," Iwabee stated. "It's the same thing the Hokage and all the other adults have always been doing. They all rose through the ranks because of their power. Now they just decide times have changed? If things were the same, I'd have graduated and become a ninja long ago! But the passing thing is now unless I pass courses that have absolutely nothing to do with ninjutsu, then I'm stuck here!"

Y/n was angry as he tilted his head, "...Do you hear yourself? Or are you this fucking dumb to know that the only reason why you're not graduated is that you can't study shit?"

"And so what, huh?!" Iwabee grunted. "It means that you've been taking it out on the wrong person!" Y/n yells.

"What did you say?!" Iwabee demanded.

"If you wanted to be a ninja, then keep on trying and not be this...pathetic rodent." Y/n stated, "Instead you blame the times you're living in...you skip classes and act like the whole world is against you! That has to be one of the most ridiculous things I've heard!"

"You're calling me ridiculous?" Iwabee challenge. "No, I'm calling you amazing. Yes, I'm calling ridiculous!" Y/n answers.

"You ask for it." Iwabee wave a cloak around as when Y/n went to him, he was no longer there.

"Huh?" Y/n look around. "What's wrong? I'm right over here!" Y/n look up to see Iwabee standing on a pillar.

He throws some shuriken as Y/n covers himself. Some missed as some scratch his outfit and cut himself as his eyes widen at that.

"Here I come!" Iwabee charges down as he suddenly gasps. He suddenly sees a pair of red eyes, but red eyes that have a pupil have a kanji engraved on them.

"You!" Y/n kneed Iwabee in the face. 

"Ruined!" He then punches Iwabee in the stomach.

"Oni-Chan's outfit!" Y/n grabbed Iwabee's face, slammed him on the ground, and toss him.

Iwabee grunts as everyone cheers. "He did it!" Denki smiles. However, Boruto wasn't excited as he heard what Y/n just said, "Oni-Chan?"

Iwabee was panting as he get himself up. "...Don't stand in their way...Or I'll crush you." Y/n darkly stated.

Iwabee was shaking before yelling. "Quit messing around..." Iwabee grabs his pole, "...you jerk!"

The ground was shaking as Iwabee makes an attack cry. He pulls his pole from the ground as it made an Earth Style hammer.

"He knows Earth Style, too?!" Shikadai yell. Y/n was silent as he smiles.

"The only thing that I've ever wanted is to become like the Hokage!" Iwabee stated as he raise his earth hammer, "I wanna fight like him! That's the path that I've chosen! And I'm not going to let it end right here! There's no way!"

Iwabee raised his hammer before red like a lightning crash on him. He screams as everyone was surprised. "Lightning Style?!" Shikadai was shocked. "Yeah, but I've never seen red lightning!" Boruto stated.

Y/n giggles as he walks towards Iwabee's face, "Didn't you say that you weren't gonna use your weapon? How can you call it a fair fight if you break the rules?" Y/n questioned.

Iwabee gasps as he realizes what he has just done. "You know, your right...I'm ridiculous."

"What is going on here!?" Footsteps were heard as Shino arrived as he sees who was behind it. "Y/n!"

Time Skip Jutsu

It was the next day at the academy as people were now associating with Boruto more. But they were also talking to Y/n as well.

"Thank goodness." The purple hair girl sighs in relief. "Why are you so concerned about what happened to Y/n, Sumire?" The dark skin girl teased.

"Uh, Cuz' I'm the Class Representative!" Sumire answers.

"I'm glad the air has been cleared." Denki smiles. "So Y/n, what happened? I heard you got an earful but I heard other stuff?" Shikadai asks.

"It's pretty much the same things as an earful." Y/n smiles, "You know how people can twist words." 

"So Boruto got out of trouble, and now Y/n?" One of the kids questioned. "What is it because he's close friends with the Hokage's family?"

"It must be nice having something like that." The second kid stated.

"You guys are sad." The kid turns to see Inojin. "He wasn't fighting for himself. He did it for his classmates, too. Back when Denki and Boruto were getting bullied, I didn't any one of you doing anything."

The door opened as it was Iwabee as the class was a shock. Iwabee went down where Y/n is as everyone was nervous.

"Konnichiwa Iwabee." Y/n turn and wave. "Hey there." Iwabee greeted with a small blush.

"So, you decided to show up hmm?" Y/n turn as he leans his head on the desk where Iwabee sits.

"Well, since we're classmates and everything..." Iwabee turns his head.

"Huh?!" Denki and Boruto's eyes widen. "Man, what a drag," Shikadai complains.

Iwabee looked at Y/n was he was still shaken. He couldn't get those eyes off of him.

'Why did his eyes say Uppermoon?'
