'Do Angels Exist?'

A/N: I just want to clear one thing up before you read, which is that the next two chapters happen only moments before this one, but the story will primarily be in Reficul's point of view. There will be some Ava chapters, like this, but not as often. This serves more as an introduction of Ava and the prequel if you will of the two characters meeting.

Ava was staring out her window when she heard her mother call out to her. She jumped, but ran down, expecting that her mom was calling her down. It was finally her birthday, and her mom always gave her a gift. She smiled as she walked into the kitchen where her mother was.

"Yes, mom?" She asked, grabbing an apple.

"I know it's the last day of high school for you, but please, be safe." She said, giving her daughter a kiss on the forehead. "I still can't believe that you turned eighteen on your last day!"

"Ugh, mom! Come on, I'm gonna be late." She said, squirming away.

"Oh please, you always have enjoyed missing school. What would've this any different?"

"I don't know, really. I just..." she said, but faltered in trying to give a reason. "I mean, should it really matter? I just really want to get there today."

"Sounds like you have an angel speaking to you." Her mom said with a smile.

Ava smiled, but then thought. "Mom? Do angels exist? Like, the winged ones?"

Her mom gave her a sly look. "Actually, sweetheart, most angels were convered  with eyes, and their wings often would have eyes as well. That's why in the Bible they always say to not be afraid when they appear."

"Really?" Ava asked, suspicious, yet also in awe. "Geez, sounds like something straight out of a Stephen King book. Do you think they are real?"

"Yes, I do. You know, Lucifer was once an angel? He was the most handsome of all of them, but he was full of pride, and believed he was superior to God. He then fought a massive battle with him. Those who took the side of Lucifer were made demons, and their halos were broken. When they broken, they became horns and embedded themselves within the head. This who did not get involved were made into fallen angels. They didn't actually do anything bad by not siding with Lucifer, but they didn't help God in the fight, and he was displeased."

"So all demons are angels?" Ava asked.

"No, but they all can be traced back to either the Devil or Lucifer's army. In the end if days, after the four horse men come, then Luifer, the Anti-Christ, and the Devil will take arms against the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Humans will be within the crossfire, and we may also have to choose our own sides." Ava's mom said.

     "Mom?" She replied.

     "Yes, Ava?"

"How will I know if I choose the right side? And have you ever seen an angel?"

Ava's mother went silent, unsure of what to say. Finally, she said, "As far as sides, you already are on one, the one God chooses, but he will not tell us. And if I have seen one, I always like to think so, that your father was one before he died. Now Ava, go brush you fur. Your Hyena spots are getting blurry again." Ava nodded, heading back to her room and doing so.

Ava took a second to check her fur one last time, and sighed contently. When she got on the bus, she sat by her friend Iliza, telling her all about the conversation her and her mother just had. Ibiza laughed it off, saying religion was just a gig to make sure furries liker her and Ava to stay well behaved, whereas science just simply shows the facts. If humans would be so bad, then we would have evolved into doing bad things by now and they wouldn't see a difference between killing to kill and killing to protect what you love. Ava sighed, but kept talking to her. It did get annoying that Iliza seemed to always resort to science and history to explain rather than just say that she couldn't explain what was happening.

"Well, how would you explain how furries see angels?"

"Isn't it obvious, hallucinations or mirages. Simple as that." She said, sticking her Grey wolf snout up confidently.

Ava growled, but stopped talking then. She looked out her window just as she saw something bright going through the sky. She pointed it out and the other furs on the bus crowded to see it. Ava took her phone out and recorded. She gasped as she realized it was a meteor. She thought to herself 'please, I want to meet an angel.' She thought it so hard, she nearly said it out loud. She blushed a little, but kept recording it. It was with horror by the time she realized that they were going to get hit. Ava screamed in terror as she was trapped, until other furs realized it too. Ava clambered to the other side to the back, hoping to get out. Just when she finally had braced for the hit, someone else screamed. It was Iliza. That was when the hunk of rock had hit close enough that they were launched into a roll onto the other side of the road and into the sidewalk. Ava fell out as she cranked open the door and coughed up blood. Before she faded out into the cold and darkness that was growing in her, she saw a tall figure with all white clothes come to her.

She only managed to say one last thing. "Just kill me. Make it end."
