Recap.

Tanjiro was on his knees and dropped his sword until Y/n busted into the room.

Tanjiro: Y/n?

Y/n: Bet you weren't expecting me.

He noticed the drum demon.

Y/n: That the demon you're fighting?

Tanjiro: Yeah. Where's Nezuko?!

Y/n: She's waiting for us outside. We can go see her after we beat this asshat.

Tanjiro: Yes. If we're working together, there's no way we'll lose.

Tanjiro picked up his sword and stood up.

Tanjiro: Without a shadow of doubt in my mind, we will not yield!

Zenitsu was running through the mansion with Shoichi.

Zenitsu: Tanjiro, Y/n, where are you two right now? (Thinking: I can still hear that creepy sound. I just hope they stay safe.)

Shoichi: Um, Zenitsu, is it me, or are we just going around and around in circles?

Zenitsu: I knew it! I was getting the exact same feeling! I knew I could relay on you to help me out, Shoichi!

They walked to a room door.

Shoichi: All right, can you check and see if this room is clear?

Zenitsu shakinly opened the door just to see Nezuko's box.

Zenitsu: Hey, it's Tanjiro and Y/n's box.

They both walked over to the box.

Zenitsu: Y/n had this last, and if he was willing to go outside just to get it, I doubt he'd just leave it. Tanjiro, Y/n, you two can come out now! I have your box!

The room flipped side ways.

Zenitsu: Wait, this room flipped over!

Zenitsu tightly grabbed Nezuko's box and he fell along with Shoichi and they landed back outside.

With Y/n and Tanjiro.

The drum demon kept flipping the room and while Y/n had an easier time landing on his feet every time, Tanjiro was struggling.

Y/n: You okay, Tanjiro.

Tanjiro: Yes. I can't land on my feet as easily as you can, but I can still pull through!

The demon kept flipping the room and even threw in some claw slashes but they were still holding on strong until Y/n slipped and fell to his back.

Tanjiro: Y/n!

Tanjiro avoided a claw, but he broke the doors which were now now the floor. Him and Y/n almost fell through, but he held on and caught Y/n.

Drum demon: Curses! This is irritating! I need to consume some marechi before it's too late!

Tanjiro pulled him and Y/n back up only to fall when the room flipped.

Tanjiro: (Thinking: There's not even time to think!)

Tanjiro dodged a claw strike and looked at the drum demon.

Tanjiro: Hey, you! What's your name?

Kyogai: It's Kyogai.

Tanjiro: Kyogai! Listen, I'm not giving you that child! I won't band to you! It's futile!

Kyogai: I will get my hands on that boy...

Kyogai showed his eyes. They were blue, and while the left eye was a normal demon eye the right one had not only a huge x across it, but the kanji for "Lower Six" instead of a pupil.

Kyogai: And reclaim my rightful place among the Twelve Kizuki!

He started to rapidly strike his drums which made the room rotate and multiple claw slashes scratched the room.

Kyogai: Damn insects! Get out of my site! Rapid drumming!

He struck them faster which made the room rotate even faster and the claw slashes became five claws instead of three. Y/n was still motionless and in a memory of him being in a field playing until he saw a little sparrow fall out of its nest. He picked it up.

Y/n: Are you okay, little one?

The sparrow chirped that it was okay, then Y/n claimed the tree and put the sparrow back but as soon as he gently placed the sparrow down the mother came and bit his hand causing him to fall.

Y/n: Ow! Dumb bird.

Y/n walked off and he was now sitting on a porch just feeling sorry for himself until a woman with long black hair, two pink butterfly hair pieces on both sides of her head, pink eyes like Nezuko, and butterfly haori over a purple Demon Slayer Corps uniform sat next to him.

Woman: Hey there, Y/n.

Y/n: Oh. Hi, Lady Kanea.

Kanea: You seem troubled, tell me what's wrong, my dear.

Y/n: Well, a little sparrow fell out of its nest and I help it back up.

Kanea: Aw, that was sweet of you.

Y/n: But when I put it back in the nest, the mother came and bit me on the hand. I still have the mark.

He showed her the bite mark on his hand.

Kanea: Aw, you poor thing. But, maybe the mother misunderstood and thought you were trying to hurt its chick.

Y/n: Hurt its chick?

Kanea: Yeah, that's what mothers do. They're nice most of the time, but when you mess with their babies...

She went near Y/n and made a chomp sound.

Kanea: They'll bite you right back.

Y/n smiled, but it was a genuine smile instead of his usual psychotic smile and wrapped around Kanea's arm.

Kanea: Y/n, I want you to make me a promise right now.

Y/n: What kind of promise?

Kanea: Promise me that just like that mama bird you will be sweet and calming, but if what is dear to you is in danger, be angry and protect it with your live.

Y/n: Okay, Lady Kanea. I promise.

In the battle.

The five claw strike was about to hit Y/n.

Tanjiro: Y/n, get up!

Y/n jumped into the air, avoiding the slash and looked at Kyogai.

Y/n: Huh, so we have an ex-member of the Twelve Kizuki on our hands.

Kyogai: You're a damn pest!

Y/n: Tanjiro, did you get this demon's name?

Tanjiro: He said it was Kyogai.

Y/n: Listen to me, Kyogai. You can send me through a wall, hit me through the floor board. Hell, you can even slice me in half and I'll just laugh it off. But you made one mistake (points his blade at Kyogai) you tried to kill my best friend.

Kyogai: You won't have to worry about your friend where you're going!

Y/n: Here's the plan, Tanjiro. I'll hold down and you go in for the kill.

Tanjiro: Are you sure?

Y/n: Don't you trust me?

Tanjiro: (nods) With my life.

Y/n ran fast at Kyogai and was about to slash his sword down then remembered his lady's words.

Kanea: Be like the bird, be sweet and calming, but if what's dear to you is in danger protect it with your life.

Y/n gridded his teeth under his mask and it looked like sky blue feathers came from his mask.

Y/n: Total Concentration. Bird Breathing, First Form: Preying Flock.

Y/n slashed Kyogai's chest vertically and then jumped all over the place in a fashion that looked like Wind Sword Slash. Except, it was Y/n with sky blue birds trailing behind him instead of the wind swords and Tanjiro stared in amazement.

Tanjiro: (Thinking: Y/n's moving so fast, I can't even tell where he's gonna go next!)

Y/n started destroying the drums on Kyogai's body.

Kyogai: Get off me, you damn insect!

Kyogai knocked Y/n away, but it was too late. All his drums were destroyed and his entire body was all bloody.

Y/n: Now, Tanjiro!

Tanjiro took a deep breath.

Tanjiro: Total Concentration. Water Breathing!

Tanjiro ran really fast at Kyogai and each step he took looked like he stepped in water.

Tanjiro: Ninth Form! Splashing Water Flow, Turbulent!

As Tanjiro got closer, he smelled the Opening Thread and jumped towards Kyogai.

Tanjiro: Kyogai! Your Blood Demon Art was truly incredible!

Tanjiro decapitated Kyogai who's head still stared at him with with wide eyes. When Tanjiro landed next to Y/n, he dropped to his knees.

Y/n: Tanjiro, you okay?

Tanjiro: Yes. I just took a deep breath by mistake. It's okay, I can bare it. What about you?

Y/n: I'm fine. Except for my legs.

Tanjiro: Your legs?

Y/n: It seems all that jumping around really took a toll, but it should be able heal in a minute.

Kyogai: Boy...

They turned to Kyogai's severed head.

Kyogai: Answer me. Did you really think my Blood Demon Art... was incredible?

Tanjiro: I truly did. However, I can't forgive you for killing.

Kyogai's head started to disintegrate.

Kyogai: I see.

Tanjiro: Oh, that's right. I gotta get a blood sample.

Y/n: You take the body, the head has something I want.

Tanjiro took some kind of needle out of his sleeve and threw it at Kyogai's cut up and disintegrating body, draining some blood.

Tanjiro: Yushiro sure is crafty.

Y/n: Too bad he'll be nothing more than a weakling who masterbates over his Lady Tamayo.

Y/n used some wind to push Kyogai's head to him.

Tanjiro: What are you doing?

Y/n: Just go get the sample.

Tanjiro went to the body while Y/n looked at Kyogai with a psychotic smile under his mask.

Y/n: I'm sorry to do this, but you have something I need.

Kyogai: What are you talking about?

Y/n put his intex and middle fingers over Kyogai's number eye and his thumb under it. He pushed his fingers through Kyogai's socket and quickly pulled out his number eye.

Y/n: It might not be as precious as a current member of the Twelve Kizuki's eye, but it's not bad for my first eye.

Tanjiro came back.

Tanjiro: Y/n, what the hell?!

Y/n: We gotta take something as prove of our victory.

Y/n pulled out a jar with liquid in it and put Kyogai's eye in it.

Tanjiro: Where did you get that?

Y/n: Tamayo gave me a few jars like this one, it makes sure the severed part of the demon can't disintegrate or grow back into a normal demon. Speaking of Tamayo, did you get the sample for her?

Tanjiro: Yep. Now, are your legs healed yet? We need to find those kids and Nezuko.

Y/n: I should be about.

Y/n stood up and followed Tanjiro out.

Tanjiro: May Kyogai's soul rest in peace.

Y/n: I honestly don't know why you waste your sympathy on these pathetic creatures. The way I see it, demons are just pitiful creatures that were forced into this life of eating humans and that we're doing them a favor by killing them.

Tanjiro: That's the way you see things, Y/n. Not the way I do.

Tanjiro opened a door to a room.

Tanjiro: Kiyoshi, Teruko!

Things flew out of the room and something hit Tanjiro in the head and it turned out Kiyoshi and Teruko were throwing them.

Kiyoshi: Sorry, Tanjiro.

Tanjiro: Why are the two of you throwing stuff at me?

Kiyoshi: We're sorry! The drum we were using disappeared, so we panicked!

Tanjiro: I see.

Y/n showed up out of nowhere and bonked the two kids on the head.

Kiyoshi: Ow!

Y/n: This guy saved you idiot, and that's how you thank him?

Kiyoshi: Who are you?

Teruko: This is another Demon Slayer. What was your name again?

Y/n: Y/n.

Tanjiro: Y/n, you need to apologize to these kids!

Y/n: For what? They were about to throw a vase at you.

Tanjiro: But they didn't.

Y/n: Look, let's just go outside.

Tanjiro: What about Nezuko?

Y/n: She fell out of her with that whiny Zenitsu. I sensed it during our fight with Kyogai. Now, let's hurry and get these little brats out of here.

Tanjiro carried Kiyoshi on his back while Y/n carried Teruko on his.

Y/n: Sorry for hitting you both by the way, I just get mad when people hurt Tanjiro.

Teruko: We understand.

When they walked outside of the mansion they saw Zenitsu closely holding Nezuko's box while being beaten by the boar guy.

Boar guy: Take this! Come on! Move it! Now, you spineless coward! Draw your sword and face me!

Shoichi was watching from behind a tree and tears in his eyes. Zenitsu looked at Tanjiro and Y/n with a black eye and a bleeding nose.

Zenitsu: Tanjiro, Y/n... I protected it. You told me... this was more important to you than your own life, Tanjiro. And I saw what you would do for it, Y/n. That's why I did it.

The boar guy kept wailing on Zenitsu with his foot.

Boar guy: Idiot! All that bluster, you don't even bother to draw your sword! You're a fellow Demon Slayer, then let's see you fight! If you're not gonna fight, then get the hell out of my way!

Y/n: Hey, I met this weirdo inside.

Boar guy: If all your gonna do is keep me from doing my job, then you leave no choice but to take you out along with that box!

The boar guy was about to bring one of his swords down, but Y/n blocked the strike.

Y/n: Listen, this guy behind me might be a coward, but he doesn't deserve this. And if you don't stop, I'm gonna have to make you.

Nezuko agreed.

Y/n: I'm just glad we made it out alive.

Tanjiro: I still can't believe you made up a new technique and pulled that demon's eye out.

Y/n: You get use to my psychotic acts over time.

Tanjiro: Now, it's time for a Taisho-era secret!

Y/n: My former master before joining the Demon Slayer Corps would use his merachi blood to trap demons, and burn them in the sun.

Tanjiro: Hey, that wasn't it!

Y/n: This one's much more interesting.

Y/n: Don't strain yourself, Tanjiro. You still have broken bones.
