Boar guy: Hope you're ready for me, 'cause I'm comin' through!

He charged towards the drum demon.

Drum demon: It's all so infuriating!

It hit its drum again and the room rotated to the right again causing Teruko to fall over.

Tanjiro: Teruko! Hold onto the furniture!

The boar guy jumped from Tanjiro.

Tanjiro: That demon has special powers! You shouldn't be attacking so recklessly!

The boar guy just laughed.

Drum demon: How maddening! All these cursed insects running amuck in my house!

He tapped the drum on his left side and the room started to rotate again and was now back to the way it was before with the boar guy now standing one foot on Teruko's back.

Boar guy: (cackle) I can't believe the room spun around! Now this is what I call a fun time!

Tanjiro threw the boar guy off of Teruko.

Tanjiro: Get your dirty feet off of her!

Boar guy: Who the hell are you, kid?

Tanjiro picked up Teruko.

Tanjiro: Stepping on a little kid like that, what are you thinking?

Boar guy: (cackle) You got spunk! I like that! Having a human sent me flying that's a first for me!

He ran at Tanjiro and tried to slash him, but he got out of the way.

Tanjiro: (Thinking: Why is he coming after me? Isn't he a Demon Slayer?

Boar guy: These swords do a lot of damage. They're not the kind you delicate little flowers would use. The way they shred through flesh is what I pride myself on the most!

Tanjiro: This is foolish! There's a demon right there!

Boar guy: You think I care?!

He ran at Tanjiro.

Drum demon: Measly insects! Now die!

He hit the drum on his belly and a three claw slash came out of nowhere but it missed Tanjiro, Teruko and the boar guy. He did it again focusing on the boar guy who dodged the claw, then it hit its right shoulder drum and the room rotated again.

Tanjiro: (Thinking: Rotating right!)

The demon struck his left shoulder drum and the room rotated left.

Tanjiro: (Thinking: Back left.)

Drum demon: Insects! Miserable vermin!

He struck his right shoulder drum and right side drum.

The room moved again and both Tanjiro and Teruko found themselves in an entirely different room

Tanjiro: We're in another room now? But that demon didn't strike his drum. So what does this mean? I'm picking up the scent of multiple demons in this house. Is there another demon with a drum, then? Is that why...

He sniffed the air.

Tanjiro: (Thinking: I smell blood.)

He looked at Teruko.

Tanjiro: It's gonna be fine. You just stay behind me.

Teruko nodded and Tanjiro looked outside the room to see another dead guy.

Teruko: Is something wrong?

Tanjiro: No, we're fine. There's no demons. Come on, let's head out. Keep your eyes forward, all right? Don't look behind you.

As they walked, Tanjiro opened the door to another room and saw a kid in an orange kimono with a tsuzumi drum.

With Zenitsu and Shoichi.

They were walking through the mansion and Zenitsu was still cowarding like a wimp.

Shoichi: Excuse me. Can we stop, Zenitsu?

Zenitsu started screaming and hugged Shoichi.

Zenitsu: You... You gotta warn me first! Before you speak up! You can't go surprising me like that here! My heart nearly jumped out of my mouth just now!

Shoichi: Sorry about that.

Zenitsu: If I had a heart attack, you would've been directly responsible! You'd be a murderer! Do you understand?

Shoichi: Well, it's just that... you've been sweating, gasping, and shivering really badly.

Zenitsu: What about it?! I'm doing the best I can here, all right?

Shoichi: Well, forgive me for saying so, but you're making me really nervous, too.

Zenitsu: Oh, no! I'm sorry! It's just... I feel if we make too much noise here, that demon you saw... it might find us, right? That's why... I it would be best to be as quiet as possible! Don't you think!

They turn and saw a demon with four eyes, two small horns, and long tongue and walking on all fours came out of nowhere.

Long tongue demon: A couple of kids. I bet you'll taste delicious.

Zenitsu: What did I tell you?! It's just my luck we run into a demon!

He took Shoichi and ran.

Zenitsu: Stay away! Stay away from us! I'm warning you!

The demon chased after them.

Zenitsu: We don't taste good! I'm sure I taste awful! I'm serious! Kid's all skin and bones, so he'd be dry and taste terrible!

Tongue demon: How will I know for sure until I have a lick?

It swung its tongue at them but it missed them and hit an old sake jar instead.

Zenitsu: Are you kidding me?! His tongue, it's like a bolt of lightning!

The demon went for another tongue wipe, but it missed again.

Zenitsu: This has to be a nightmare!

They stumbled into a room.

Shoichi: Zenitsu, you've gotta get up!

Zenitsu: My knees! My fear is in my knees!

Shoichi: This isn't the time to complain about that stuff!

Zenitsu: Just leave me behind, okay? Make a run for it!

Shoichi: I can't do something like that!

Zenitsu: (Thinking: What a sweet kid! As useless as I am, he's sticking by me... I gotta find a solution to this! If I don't protect him, I don't wanna think of what will happen! Dying before he reaches adulthood would be tragic! But I'm so horribly weak!)

Shoichi tapped his shoulder.

Shoichi: Get up!

Zenitsu: (Thinking: I don't have the strength to protect him! But if I don't then that would mean...)

The demon finally caught up to them.

Tongue demon: I'm going to relish using my tongue to scoop your brains out through your ears!

Zenitsu completely passed out in fear.

Shoichi: Zenitsu! Are you-

He saw Zenitsu just fell asleep.

Shoichi: He's asleep!

Tongue demon: What's up with him?

Shoichi dragged Zenitsu back until they were cornered.

Tongue demon: Die!

The demon lashed its tongue at them.

Shoichi: Please wake up! Zenitsu!

The demon's tongue was suddenly got its tip cut off and Zenitsu stood up with his hair covering his eyes. Zenitsu positioned his left leg behind him and put his right hand on the held of his sword and steam came through his teeth.

Shoichi: Zenitsu...

He slightly unshethed his sword.

Zenitsu: Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash!

At the speed of lightning, Zenitsu cut the demon's head off and sheathed his sword quickly too. He revealed himself to be sleepwalking and woke to freak out when he saw the demon's head disintegrate.

Zenitsu: It's dead! When did that happen? What the hell? This is weird!

Shoichi just looked at Zenitsu dumbfounded.

Zenitsu: What is this?

He looked at Shoichi.

Zenitsu: Shoichi... Did you just...

He hugged Shoichi.

Zenitsu: You saved me! Thank you so much! I will never forget you did this! Why didn't you tell me from the start you were so powerful?!

Zenitsu started crying.

Shoichi: Huh? What are you talking about?

Zenitsu: You say something?

Shoichi: No. It's nothing. We should go now.

Zenitsu: Yeah.

With the boar guy.

He was running through the mansion.

Boar guy: Dammit! He sent me flying again! These last three days have been the same old crap! I don't like making my way through a cramped building like this... (made a turn) It's just not my thing!

He continued until he backed away when a hand shot out from the corner.

???: You dodged that! You seem quite spry, human.

The hand belonged to a big overweight demon with red eyes and a horn on its forehead.

Horn demon: Your healthy flesh will be well worth gouging out to eat!

Steam came through the boar guy's snout.

Boar guy: Self-taught Style... Beast Breathing. It's gonna feel so good to rip such a huge target to shreds!

He rushed the demon.

Horn demon: You've got a lot of guts to charge me head-on like that!

The boar guy quickly cut off both the demon's arms.

Boar guy: Revell in your own death and serve as my catalyst! Fang Three: Devour!

He used both his swords at the same time to cut off the demon's head and continued to run.

Boar guy: Comin' through! Comin' through!

As he ran, he saw Y/n and Nezuko.

Boar guy: There are more humans here?!

Y/n: Well, this isn't something you see everyday.

Nezuko: Is that a demon?

Y/n: No, I sense he's human. Plus, he has swords and the trousers of the Demon Slayer Corps uniform.

Nezuko: So, he's a friend?

Y/n: Not exactly.

Boar guy: Hey, that girl is a demon! Step aside, bird boy!

Y/n: Bird boy? I'd say you look in a mirror before you judge someone.

Boar guy: The hell is a mirror?!

They ran at each other and their blades locked together.

Y/n: (Thinking: I gotta be careful with these edges. My power hasn't completely replenished yet.)

They pulled away got into positions.

Y/n/Boar guy: Wind/Beast Breathing, Second Form/Fang Five: Claws-Purifying Wind/Crazy Cutting!

Y/n used his four claw slashes while the boar guy jumped and used three rapid cuts and the two moves canceled each other out. Y/n then kicked the boar guy into another room and flew into one himself for Nezuko to check on him.

Nezuko: Are you okay?

Y/n: I'm fine.

They suddenly changed rooms and were face to face with two demons that looked like cavemen. They looked the same except for their skin. One had green skin while the other was dark gray.

Green demon: Kyogai, I told you if you showed your damn face here again I'll-

Dark gray demon: Wait, those two aren't Kyogai.

Green demon: Your right, brother. They're free food.

Nezuko: Y/n, why aren't these men wearing tops?

Y/n: I don't know. Let's just get to the part where we kill them.

Nezuko: Which do you want?

Y/n: I guess I'll take the green one.

Nezuko kicked the gray demon and Y/n split the green one's arms off.

Green demon: (regenerated arms) We better step it up, brother.

Gray demon: Indeed.

They both jumped and tried kicked Y/n and Nezuko but they dodged and the demon's feet got stuck in the floor.

Demons: Shit!

Y/n: Time to end this.

Y/n tried to slash the demons but they used their fist to catch Eleatara's sides.

Gray demon: Too easy.

Green: That was far too predictable.

Y/n: I know, that's why I did it.

Demons: Huh?

Y/n: Wind Breathing, First Form: Dust Whirlwind Cutter.

He used his Whirlwind Cutter to cut the demon's hands then their heads.

Y/n: They were right. That was easy.

Nezuko: Don't be so reckless, Y/n!

Y/n: What's the big deal? You're safe and that's all that matters.

Nezuko: You say you care about my safety, but what about my feelings?!

Y/n: Huh?

Nezuko: Back at the nice lady's house, I knew you were fighting back a lot of pain, and I bet you still are. I never want to see you in that state again. If my safety causes that much pain to you and brother, then maybe it's not worth it. Maybe at the house I should've-

Y/n slapped her which left her in shock.

Y/n: Don't you ever say something like that again, do you hear me?!

Tears were coming through his mask.

Y/n: You're safety means the world to me and Tanjiro! And if we have to get hurt for you to be safe, then let it be that way!

He tightly hugged Nezuko.

Y/n: I may have only known you for two years, but I can't imagine life without you.

Nezuko hugged him back and cried a little.

Nezuko: I'm sorry.

Y/n: Me too. I promise, I'll be more careful.

Back with Tanjiro and Teruko.

Teruko: Kiyoshi, we found you!

She ran at the boy.

Teruko: Brother. Brother!

She hugged him.

Kiyoshi: Teruko!

Tanjiro walked to them.

Kiyoshi: Who's he?

Tanjiro: Tanjiro Kamado. And I'm a Demon Slayer. You have hung in there really well. Can you show me your wounds?

Kiyoshi started crying and Tanjiro pulled something out of his sleeve.

Tanjiro: This ointment here is really amazing! My master gave it to me for a time like this!

He started to apply the ointment on Kiyoshi's leg and wrapped it.

Tanjiro: That should do it. Well? You feel better?

Kiyoshi: Yes!

Tanjiro: Tell me exactly what happened, if you can.

Kiyoshi: A monster dragged me away, and it nearly ate me. But then, another one showed up out of nowhere. They started fighting over who was going to eat me. Then... the demon with the drums growing out of him... left one of the drums behind after he was defeated by the others. And I picked it up and hit it! The room changed. That's how I held up.

Tanjiro: A demon with drums growing from him... (thought for a moment) that guy. He said, I think something about "marechi."

Kiyoshi: Yeah, that's right! I don't know what it means, but he called me that.

Tanjiro: I think I remember my friend saying something about it.

Tanjiro thought back to a conversation him and Y/n had.

Y/n: See, Tanjiro. There are people that are referred to as "marechi."

Tanjiro: What's that mean?

Y/n: It refers to a person with a rare blood type. Those are the kind of people that are even more likely to get attacked by demons because eating a single marechi is like eating a hundred humans at once. Demons can tell if a human is a marechi just by smelling them.

Tanjiro: How do you know so much about this?

Y/n: My former master was a really rare marechi. Just sniffing his blood can make any demon feel dizzy.

Tanjiro sniffed the air and smelled the drum demon coming closer.

Tanjiro: I'm gonna head out there! Keep calm. It's all right. I'm going to take down that demon. Teruko, listen to me. Your brother is really worn out at the moment. So, watch after him, all right?

Teruko nodded.

Tanjiro: As soon as a leave this room, use the drum to change areas. Just like Kiyoshi's been doing, if someone tries to open the door or you hear something, strike that drum to remove yourself from danger. I promise that I will come for you. I'll follow your scent back. Then, I'll call your names so you know it's me. Just hold out a little longer. Can you do it?

They both nodded.

Tanjiro: Great! So brave!

Tanjiro stood up.

Tanjiro: I'm off.

The drum demon peaked his head to see into the room they were in and Tanjiro charged at him.

Tanjiro: Strike it!

They struck the drum they had which caused them to disappear.

Drum demon: Damn insects! So infuriating!

The demon struck the drum on his right shoulder twice which made the room spin to the point where the roof was the floor, but Tanjiro was easily able to land on his feet. The demon walked in the room and struck the drum on his belly which made the three claw slash which Tanjiro dodged. The demon then continued to use his drums to move the room around and unleash the claw attack. Tanjiro was having a harder time moving as he was feeling the pain of his injuries.

With Y/n and Nezuko.

Nezuko: Do sense brother anywhere?

Y/n: I do, but he's fighting a really strong demon.

Nezuko: Could it be one of those Twelve Kizuki?

Y/n: Probably.

Y/n took the box of and placed it down.

Y/n: You wait here and stay in this box.

Nezuko: Promise to be careful.

Y/n: I promise, I'll do my best.

Nezuko shrunk and got into the box.

Y/n: If you feel the box moving, hold the door tight to make sure it doesn't open.

Nezuko nodded and Y/n shut the door of the box then ran to find Tanjiro.

Back with Tanjiro.

He was on his knees and dropped his sword until Y/n busted into the room.

Tanjiro: Y/n?

Y/n: Bet you weren't expecting me.

He noticed the drum demon.

Y/n: That the demon you're fighting?

Tanjiro: Yeah. Where's Nezuko?!

Y/n: She's waiting for us outside. We can go see her after we beat this asshat.

Tanjiro: Yes. If we're working together, there's no way we'll lose.

Tanjiro picked up his sword and stood up!

Tanjiro: Without a shadow of doubt in my mind, we will not yield!

Nezuko muffled something.

Tanjiro: Thanks, you guys. You two go for it!

Y/n: Together Tanjiro, our Victory is guaranteed.

Nezuko muffled again.

Tanjiro: Next, Chapter 13. "Something More Important Than Life."

Y/n: We may not have time for a Taisho-era secret, but it's no secret that the thing I value more than my life is... (hugs Tanjiro and Nezuko) you guys.

Nezuko made a happy muffle.

Tanjiro: Aw. Group hug!
